I really liked the fact that they wrapped everything so nicely and they even wrapped the coach so that it won’t get dirty. The packing was done professionally and without any error. It was tricky on the other side though, they could not get a place to park. But it was not a problem for them. They did not get tired of all the lifting and running up and down 4 flights of stairs. They are super-efficient, hardworking and very friendly. I totally recommend Master Movers Inc to all.

There are currently more moving companies than ever before, and I have used quite several who subjected me to huge sufferings. But just this time, I needed to get everything right as it was a long distance move. We never hired moving companies while relocating in the past. It was so stressful that after every move I felt like a part of me had died. Finally, when we were moving again last week my friend suggested that I hire Master Movers Inc to take on the responsibility. Their men were just amazing. They arrived on time and started packing my 3-bedroom apartment. They were done with the whole process in just 2 hours. I used Master Movers while moving from Indianapolis to Illinois. That was a 2 bed room apartment move. Though it sounds a small move but trust me I had some bitter surprises for the movers. My old furniture was super heavy and sensitive and the movers had to move those using the very narrow stairways from the 3rd floor to the ground floor and again from the ground floor to 4th floor floor. But they were better than the challenge. The way they moved everything was just awesome. I would say that they were doing it effortlessly. That was the true quality of the good movers. They completed the move within the quoted time and they also did not charge me more than the initial quote. The delivery was made 6 days later as promised with zero damage and no lost items. The movers unpacked and helped me assemble my furniture. I am very thankful to them for their great service. God bless Master Movers!

We agreed that I would pay half on the packing day and then the other half after the work was complete. ?It took the team 8 hours to pack the house. ?I had received other estimates that were much lower than this new amount, I wish I would have gone with them! ?So, then on day two, moving day, they team began to load the truck. ?I was told that I had to pay the balance right away. ?I said that I would prefer to pay once all of my things were moved. ?At this point I was held hostage because some of my stuff was already on the truck and this dispatcher on the phone was going to threaten to stop the move if I didn't pay! ?I told him I would be happy to pay the correct amount once the job was done. ?I asked to speak to a supervisor, but he still refuses to take my calls. ?So, I had to pay the full amount. ?They say they will issue a refund for any credit due, but it has been a week and I have still not beed provided an invoice or an updated estimate with the actual working times. ? Then there is the damage. ?They put a giant hole in our stairwell and another one in our basement. ?I have yet to get a call back from their customer service department about how they will address those problems. ?They also destroyed a vase from my wife's grandfathers funeral because they put it on the bottom of a box with tons of stuff on it. ?The crushed our lampshades as well. ?Many of our picture frames and canvases have chips, dents, and scratches on them from poor packaging. ?Our clothes were grabbed out of our dresser and thrown into boxes along with random jewelry. ?Half of the crew did not read, write, or speak english, so there was no way to communicate with them about what they were packing. ? There are plenty of other moving companies out there. ?Stay away from this one. ?They are going downhill fast and they don't care. ?They don't return your phone calls once they have your money. ?They are not worth the hassle.
Description of Work: The provider gave me a quote for moving our 3,800 square foot 4 bedroom home for $3,300. ?This was after completing a very in depth home inventory worksheet and speaking with a moving consultant for 30 minutes. ?Once the movers arrived, they said it would take all day instead of the 5 hours I was quoted. ?After speaking with Ben, the manager, about how poorly I was misquoted, he then doubled the quote on my to almost $7,000 then demanded I pay it all up front!! ?

Well the foreman has a wonderful heart but he has extremely poor time management skills. The job was estimated to be completed in 5 hours with travel time included. It took them 6 1/2 hours to complete the move and they didn't unpack or unwrap furniture when they got to the townhome. Everything was wrapped to travel cross county instead of less than 0.1 miles. The 2nd mover was shocked when he learned where I was moving to and asked the foreman why they wrapped everything so much. When the reassembled my sleigh bed it was put together obviously wrong and they didn't attempt to correct it. The rails were put on backwards and it took me and my husband 1 hour plus a trip to Lowe's to buy a specific tool to fix the mistake. They also left over 1/2 of the stuff that they were supposed to take at the 1 bedroom apartment but by this time they were already over time by 1 1/2 hours and it would have taken another 2 hours at least to put everything in the truck again. When I called the office Friday afternoon to state the problems. I had to leave a voice mail and I never received a return phone call. I called again on Saturday and had to leave a message again. I will never recommend Master Movers to anyone. And to day someone asked me who I would recommend for a moving company and I told them NOT Master Movers.

It went terribly. I was so thankful the police were able to help us out because otherwise we would've paid for 5 hours of work when only 1 hour was completed. We paid $240 for an hour worth of work and the police man said we need to call the attorney general's office to get our money back. he said he reported the company to the better business bureau. I hope that this company goes out of business because they are nothing but a SCAM
Description of Work: I actually work for Angie's List and hired this company before checking the reviews I paid $79 with my old debit card (thank goodness) originally to set them up to hire. I was told the $79 would be included on the total move-in fee at move-in day. I signed up for 2 movers for 2 hours and was told it would cost $79/hr so $158 total. Movers showed up 20 minutes late on move-in date. Said I had them from 9:45-12:45. I was okay with the 3 instead of 2 hours because they said it would take longer since they had to wrap our furniture etc. It took like an hour to load everything onto the truck. My roommate was at our new apartment location (Down the street from where we were moving from) and was expecting them around 11:00. They told us they left at 10:45 - when my roommate called at 11:30 saying they weren't there we checked downstairs in the parking lot and they were STILL sitting in their truck! went downstairs to see what the problem was and they were messing around on their phones and said they didn't know where they were going (our address was on their paperwork, they knew where they were going). So finally they left at 11:00 - my roommate called me at 11:30 and they STILL were not there. We called them and they said, "0h we are on a lunch break". We advised they did not tell us they were taking a break. They ended up not getting to my apartment UNTIL 1:00. We only had them until 12:45 and they still had to unload EVERYTHING. Anyway, they unloaded my dresser and bed. After that, they said they had to have my signature on the contract right now before they could unload anything else. I said, "okay, but I'm paying for the 3 hours @ $79/hr which is what I signed up for" They said no, you owe us for 5 hours now since this will take us two more hours. I yelled at them explaining I am NOT paying for any of their breaks, it is not my problem that they sat around and wasted two hours. They were not happy with my repsonse so they went down to truck and locked all of my items inside. They said they were holding my items hostage until I obliged and paid for the 5 hours. Next, I called the Fishers Police. The officer that showed up was livid and told both movers this was extortion and illegal to hold our property hostage and that he would handcuff them both and take them to jail if they did not at least unload my property onto the grass (we would have our friends help us move our stuff from there0 AND the cop told them we were only going to pay for the 3 hours that we agreed upon. The two movers relunctantly agreed..I had to run to the bank to get cash because the cop said he did not trust them with my debit card info. I came back with the cash while the cop stayed. The movers wrote up the paperwork - when I read the paper work it STILL had the 5 hours for $79 on it, and I had to make them scratch it out at several line items. They finally left and we moved the rest of the property ourselves.

My son was moving from Anderson, Indiana to McLean, Virginia. It was a quick move because he accepted a new job on 12/23/2015 and was to begin work on that new job on 1/16/2016. At the time, he was living in Lafayette, Indiana. So we moved him ourselves from Lafayette to Anderson in order for him to end his apartment lease in Lafayette. The move from Lafayette to Anderson was the same size load as the move from Anderson to Lafayette (19 cardboard boxes already boxed up and taped shut and 18 plastic totes with lids, no furniture). 5 of those cardboard boxes were built by Master Movers. It took about 45 minutes to load the truck When I first contacted Master Movers, I talked to Linda from Customer Service who seemed very polite and knowledgeable. She quoted me a price of $1375. She said it was lower then many quotes because I told her everything was already in boxes and totes with no furniture. When they got here, they had to build up 5 additional boxes for things that we had not boxed up such as: vacuum cleaner, floor fan, 2 guitars, 1 violin. When they finished loading, the driver came up and said I owed an additional $850 due to the fact that I had gone over the 200 cu ft capacity that Linda had quoted for the $1375 price. I now was going to use 288 cu ft instead of the 200 she quoted. What upset me was the fact that I measured every box and tote to include width x depth x height and provided that info to Linda. After talking to several Master Movers people, they agreed to lower their additional cost down to $720. A more professional mover would have sent someone out to actually look at my load, take measurements and calculate a realistic quote, using facts and not guess on how much space my load was going to take up. I went with Master Movers because of the speed with which they promised to pick up my load. What they did not tell me was that they were going to let my load sit in a terminal in Indianapolis from Dec 30 until Jan 25 before they moved it to McLean, Virginia. Here is a breakdown to show what they quoted me and what I actually ended up paying: Quote Actual Line Haul $1344.00 $1344.00 Line Haul 165.40 boxes 70.00 tape 350.00 extra space 150.00 stairs 70.00 extra distance to 16.48 tax TOTAL $1344.00 $2165.88 That is $821.88 more than their quote and 27 days in a warehouse before they moved the load. I was advised by other people not to use them because they would raise they price etc and it was true.
Description of Work: Master Movers assembled 5 cardboard boxes using 2" wide tape on a dispenser. They then labeled each box with one of their stickers and loaded them onto the 16' box truck.

There were 3 flights of stairs added (which was not disclosed until after the booking, due to you not having a final address for the delivery) at the destination which increased your cost by $150.00 (this is a discount as the normal rate is $75 per flight. You were also charged a discounted rate for the additional items you chose to add to the shipment,(which came to $350 ). Your original quote was $1375.80 and your final cost was $2095.88 . Mr. [Member Name Removed] we picked up your shipment on 12/30/15, you had a 1st available delivery date listed (by you) as 1/2/16. Your shipment left our facility 16 business days after we picked it up and it was delivered to your son the very next day. Master Movers pushed your shipment out as quickly as possibly. I hired Master Movers to move a two bedroom home from Indiana to Florida in May 2015. Once the drivers had picked up the items in Indiana, I received an email that I would not be receiving my items until I paid an additional $220 (even though they had already picked up the items). I paid the amount within 48 hours chalking it up to maybe a size underestimation (although I sent every item's specifications to the company prior to the quote). In late July, after several emails and phone calls, some of our items finally arrived. Several items were damaged and many were missing, including an heirloom baby bed that I had noted as the most important part of the shipment. Over the next 8 weeks, my husband and I attempted to get the company to email, call, communicate with us when we could expect our missing items. Multiple estimates of shipment were given and not accomplished. They would always promise that 'this person' or 'that person' was going to fix it, call us, dispatch it soon. Today is Sept 21, 2015 and we finally received the last of our items (with more damage and no notice that they were even shipped yet). Mere words cannot express my frustration with this company. DO NOT HIRE MASTER MOVERS. I am not writing this to get back at the company for our months of anguish; I am writing to save the next person from having to go through the insanity that we have dealt with over the last few months.

-Arrived 3 hours late -They made me sign ton of paper as they arrived. I wish if they would had sent it by e-ail days earlier, so that I can have a chance to read it. -They were not equipped with tools, I had to go and grab my neighbor's tools so that they can undo my furniture -The estimate they gave me, was totally off. The final price was doubled -My furniture was damaged, and I informed the company, and they send me a huge load of paper work to sign. -They charge you for plastic tape, and anything they use. Triple the price compared to a walmart price. -They over charged me with the trip time, even though they were behind me when we left the old place, to the new place.

They were supposed to provide 2 hr. moving services and show up at 1pm on Friday. They kept pushing the time with no explanation as to why it was being pushed. At 7:30pm, they told us they would get us moved before midnight with no guarantee that this would actually happen. We tried to reschedule for Saturday, and I was told they could not do this as it would inconvenience other customers. The CSR on the phone was unapologetic and rude. We finally cancelled the service since it was obvious they could care less if they fulfilled their contract or that we had just closed on our house and were obligated to have all of our belongings moved out by a certain time. As of 11:15am the following Tuesday, we have not been reimbursed for the deposit and a BBB complaint has been filed. WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER!

It was horrible. They ruined countless small items, destroyed an expnsive armoir, put multiple holes in the walls and did not return all of our belongings to us. They did not put our beds back together correctly and they broke our Sleep Number bed. They were so bad that we moved multiple rooms ourselves to try to avoid more damages. What is worse is that we have been trying to get them to respond to our damages claim for 5 months without any success. They won't even call us back. I would NEVER use this company again. Beware.

Pick up and drop off of household goods and furniture. Placed items in storage. Failed to mention damage to couch apparently dropped. Have to resolve this through a complicated method of claim, certified mail, etc. Was charged $620 cash at drop location and received receipt for same. Tipped each mover $50. Got email receipt from mover and total was $520. Inquired about total and was advised I was wrong, the supervisor of the crew gets glowing reviews, and why would I pay them more when the receipt indicated $520. I explained my receipt said $620. At that point I was told to mail original receipt certified mail and they would respond. It has been two weeks and no response yet. Here is my issue: Contracted and paid in good faith. The preferred method of payment is cash and I complied. Since the move was more than I anticipated, the tip for the crew was done via check which they accepted. The Customer Service representative has simply not responded. Would recommend contracting a reputable mover who accepts FOP of credit card (which I did with the mover I used from the storage unit to new residence). The damage I reported was only one instance, there were other issues, I simply didn't report to simplify. Obviously, they are okay to take advantage of customers and get away with it. Beware: The onus of any proof of issues is upon the customer. Use a different mover!

The 2 hr. window we had been promised during the original booking ended up being a 6 hr. window. When they called 2 days ahead with the timing, I told them there would only be 15 pieces of furniture and no boxes, but we still had to wait 6 hours. They finally arrived at 7 pm. The movers were careless with the furniture, they didn't place pads between the wood furniture and the dolly when bringing it down the ramp. It was raining and they didn't cover the furniture or attempt to wipe the water off. They had to be told how to take a chair through a doorway. We had to move the lamps because they didn't want to do it. Lack of communication by the company as to the cause of such a large window of time made for a very stressful day not just for me and others assisting with the move but for our 91-year old parents. They closed their office at 2 pm on Saturday - no way to contact them. I called the following Monday to complain and even asked for a refund. I got a $27 adjustment probably because they didn't have to move the 20 boxes. I would never recommend this company - I give them an overall failing grade

I locked in a price for 3 men for 4 hours and was told the estimate was just under $500 and that if the move did not take all four hours I would get credited the extra hours except for the two hour minimum which I though was great because the price was 89.99 per hour for three men and we had everything ready for them. All our furniture was already taken apart, up front and we did not have them reassemble anything either. I called about a week before and had the time set for sat between 9-11am they finally showed up at 4pm! And with only two guys, a young man who was a hard worker and worked quick and an older man who stood around talking and taking a long time to wrap up the furniture. He kept saying, this is a four hour move, this is a four hour move I thought, man my husband and I moved our stuff several time and it NEVERTHELESS took us two hours to pack or unpack our furniture on the truck and we never damaged any of our stuff but he sure made it take take that long so they could could get that four hours of money. Then they charged us for tape and used boxes to cover our glass for our "glass" protection, if I had known that, I would have made sure I had my extra boxes there! Then they charged us for 1 hour travel time when it only took 10 min to go from one place to the other! The third guy finally showed up at 5pm! I would NEVER Use them again. They did credit me $75 for my inconvenience.... Movers beware!

I have used Master Movers 2 other times and my daughter used them as well. All went well before they were fast and accurate. This time however was totally different. I received an estimate and paid a deposit to lock in fee for 3 men. I reported all my items and that was on the estimate. When I did actually move I had less items that I received an estimate for originally. The day of moving 2 young men and an older guy showed up, first they said they weren't going to be able to fit all my items on the truck. After 45 min they started moving items. The whole move took over 10 hours. The young men worked hard but were inexperienced. The older stood around and made conversation. All in all a horrible experience and they required payment before finishing. The bill was over twice the estimate. When I talked to the person on the phone at the office they were going to put rest of my belongings in storage if i did not pay!!!... I complained to management and basically got no where. I received a refund of 112.00. My biggest complaint was I was charged for 3 men and received 2 young guys that did work very hard. I would Never use this company again and will tell everyone I came in contact with not to use them!! MY advice to anyone DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They will charge you for tape to pack and any other materials they use and charge you for an extra man when you only had 2 movers!!!!

[member name removed] was estimated for a move of 6 hrs (if all the items stayed the same on her article list that was given at the time of booking). When the crew arrived, the foreman assessed the situation and stated that the customer had more items than what was given on the paperwork. Please note that a visual estimate was given on this move and we were provided a list of items by the customer. [member name removed] was not on the scene and had a representative present for her to handle things. [member name removed] items were very large and as the crew was performing the move the customer was exchanging items that needed to be moved. She deiced to have certain things taken off of and other items put on. Due to the changed during the move not only did it increase the time the crew spent but it also changed the dynamics of her move and the estimate originally given to her. When our dispatcher called to see how the move was going an hour into the move, he was told that she was not there but per her report things were going good. Once [member name removed] arrived at the scene that is when we were notified of issues and the dispatcher immediately got on the phone with the foreman at the scene. When a customer adds items, exchanges items of a move our policy is have a revised estimate given which was done and agreed to by the customer. Once our crew arrived at the destination and got to the point of needing to close the contract the customer stated she was not going to pay the additional charges she agreed to before the changes were performed. When this happens it is industry standard to stop the move and work out the details. Should a customer refuse to pay the fees, legally we are not allowed to relinquish the property until all fees are paid. We are sorry to hear that this was the experience for [member name removed]. Master Movers has been in business for over 12 years now and will continue to provide excellent services for our customers.
