The whole experience went great. We were not on a definite time frame and just asked to be fit in between other jobs. The work appears to be very well done and met our needs. Actually, some additional need for repair was discovered in the process and very glad Leonard was experienced enough to consider looking for other areas of concern on similar parts of the house. He will definitely be helping us out with future repairs to our home.
Description of Work: LSR (Leonard Richey) did a variety of external repairs to our home. Three window frames and trim along our front porch had rotted wood, with some extensive. Leonard repaired several window frames, sills along with more decorative trim. The work required a bit of creativity to solve a problem that could have much more extensive costs if approached differently.

These people are so so nice and is expert in what they do as far as woodwork. They do an excellent job and so personable and kind. After we had used them we heard our neighbors were preparing for a big project and we quickly referred them to LSR. They hired them and also they were blown away by their work. The woodworking they do is just unreal and exquisite to say the least. Again super nice people and we were happy the work was complete but hated to see them go. Highly recommend this company.

Their estimate was off the chart. They were friendly. They had different perspectives and that was helpful. They seemed like confident people.

The man's name was Jim Canoodle. He was very well informed. He was very professional in everything. Unfortunately his prices were a little high. We were really impressed with him. He was on time. He was just really nice. He didn't bug us too much. When we told him we weren't going with him, he sent us a gracious email. He gave us a plan and he talked to us. He brought up stuff that we didn't even think about. He helped us to become very informed consumers. That's what I was impressed with. There was no pressure. He really gave us a lot of information that we needed to ask the other companies. He spent over almost about an hour and a half on a free estimate helping us understand what all went into it. That's the first time we talked. It's unfortunate that we didn't choose him. It was because of the price. We would consider using him in the future.

The initial contact went well; they are amiable people. The work was performed with a sub-contractor (not sure) that apparently did not care. I STILL believe that some siding was replaced in the wrong area however to acknowledge that would mean replacing siding that had already been painted by another contractor. Instead I was told that was what was agreed upon. That was the beginning of being put on their "pay you no mind list." The door that was replaced was set in the frame with the locking mechanism and nails showing. The installer knew exactly what I was talking about and returned to caulk the door with liquid nails. He was asked was it liquid nails (wirting on the tube indiciated it was liquid nails) he would not answer and seemed upset that he had to return and complete a shabby job. I waited a long time for a "custom" door and window more than 3 to 4 weeks at least 6 weeks. It was that "custom" and not what I would have selected if given the chance. That's why I picked a random date it took so long I forgot the date. I waited to submit this review as a business owner I detest giving another business a bad review. However, they did not seem to mind giving me slip shod work so. . . I would not recommend this company especially if an individual cannot be present to monitor what is happening at their home.
Description of Work: sun room door boxed in to create a window, storm door replaced. Siding replaced in certain areas and window framing replaced.

B for punctuality was due to gutters installation being delayed due to a subcontractor having a backlog and weather. Otherwise, the final product looks great and has received lots of positive attention from neighbors. One area of siding over a window impeded opening the casement window fully and they returned, planed the area down, and repainted it. The area described blends in well and no one would notice this since it was so well done.
Description of Work: Hardiplank siding to replace or side over existing cedar and new 6" aluminum gutters
I had called many people before calling them. The person from this company came and told me that I did not need people one by one for all the work since they were all interconnected. I had to get many things done, and they started off the work. They brought in experts to help with all the work. They did as much work as possible in as less time as possible. It would have not been worth calling different people for different things. They did everything and they did not do things just for the sake of doing. So far they have been the most cost effective house oriented people I have ever met. They are specialists in their work. So far they are the most trust worthy people. I recommend them highly. If there is a problem at home they are the people you need to call. They are very honest.
Description of Work: We used LSR Construction LLC many times in the last 6 months. They fixed many things in the house from the insulation to the heating system, dock work, electrical, plumbing and many more. There were many little things to be done.
Project was great. Leonard was easy to work with and did a good job communicating, following up and coordinating all the necessary crafts needed. Project was estimated very well and LSR documented any agreed upon changes so that I understood the overall budget. The quality of work was excellent and the workers were professional and trustworthy. We are very happy with the final product. We used a design firm to get the overall design and LSR worked very well with the design firm to translate the design into reality. I would definitely use LSR Construction on my next remodel project.
Description of Work: LSR remodeled our screened in porch as an enclosed four season living space. Added windows, removed and installed new roof, added permiter lighting, interior lighting, flower boxes, insulation, slate floor, electrical and HVAC.
Leonard listened to our remodeling request and provided valuable insigths on remodeling options. After the scope of the job was completed, provided a detailed line item estimate, which translated to a final cost and a thorough understanding of the finished project. The work was conducted in a timely and professional manner and the qualifty of work was excellent. During the two projects, Leonard demonstrated the qualities of honesty and trust.
Description of Work: Two separate projects as follows: Dinning Room Window/Door Remodeling-Created new opening to reinstall window on adjacent wall and the installation of a new sliding glass door. Expand the patio area, which included the contruction of steps leading out to the patio as well as building a fire pit.

This was not the first time we'd hired LSR. They had hung wallpaper for us in 1998 and painted our daughter's condo in 2002. I can't say enough about how marvelous Sharon and Leonard are to work with. Since their work is primarily hourly priced plus materials, I wanted to save a bit by stripping the MBR and hallway wallpaper myself. They were so accommodating, able to allow me time to move furniture and strip rooms one at a time. Sharon is a font of ideas about colors and even offered suggestions on the wallpaper removal. Pat, their painter, is both highly capable and conscientious. The garage door, as we suspected, turned into a major project. He, along with Sharon was upfront with us on the added cost and the door is beautiful. The front door, likewise, is a work of art. He was able to match the stain on the sidelights and the finish reveals a red oak door finished like furniture. We couldn't buy a door today as beautiful as this one. As to the painting, I could detail all the rooms. But I think it is enough to say that the prep work was outstanding. The dining room especially, needed plaster work where we'd removed original wallpaper murals and wood trim. The room had been Italian blue and we wanted it painted linen-white above the chair rail and merlot-red below. With semi-gloss on the woodwork and satin on the walls, the white required three coats to cover on the walls, windows and woodwork. Pat was able to move between other rooms to allow that oil based paint to dry overnight between coats. It's beautiful! The rest of the house was similar in that overnight drying was required between coats of paint, but nothing as complicated as the dining room. Pat was able to re-mud the bathroom shower ceiling and fix nail and screw holes from the drapery rods and pictures. He is patient beyond words and our house certainly would try the patience of a saint. I know that their construction work is also terrific and I would never hesitate to recommend them to anyone who asks. Sharon will give you fair and accurate estimates and let you know immediately if there are any unforeseen increases. Pat even spent a day to see exactly how much of the garage door he could sand in eight hours so we'd know exactly what it would cost thus giving me the option of sanding it myself if I desired. We highly recommend LSR for projects both large and small.
Description of Work: The first part of the project was the sanding and varnishing of a solid oak garage door and front entry door. The garage door alone required a weeks worth of sanding, staining and four coats of outdoor varnish. The front door was entirely stripped before refinishing and also had veneer re-glued. The second project was a major interior painting job: two bedrooms (one with closet), MBR dressing room, master bath, and dining room along with the upstairs and downstairs hallways. Ours is an older home with plaster walls and crown. At our request, the paint was Porter interior oil-based paint on all surfaces. It was labor intensive, not just the prep work but the painting as well since some walls required three coats of paint.
The finished carpenter for our project was Bruce. He has been doing carpentry work for about 40 years and he loves challenges. He really had a good time with our project. They did unbelievably good work, they were on time and they were very responsive to changes. I just can't sing their praises high enough. Anytime they were running late they called to let us know they hadn't forgotten us. They were really aware of their customer and made sure they knew that the customer knew what was going on with them. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: They closed a screened porch for us, put nice Andersen windows in it, insulated it & did some electrical work for us. They also did wall covering w/bamboo.

They had to transition from the carpet to the marble floor, they had to frame a 15 ft. opening, they figured out how to put thing together to make them look good and look like the archway was original. They did the framing, drywall work, matched the wood, and additional transitional work. They are a little more creative than other small contractors.
Description of Work: They knocked out a portion of a wall to create an archway from our living room to the hall that leads to our breakfast room.
