Whatever you do don't order any installs from any Lowe's. We ordered windows from Lowe's. They placed the order with Pella and outsourced the install. Once they had our money they completely wash their hands of you and leave you at the mercy of their suppliers. We ordered first week in Sept and were told late Oct for window delivery. In Oct we were told Dec due to covid. I called in 6 times in Dec and received 6 different delivery dates. All Lowe's would tell me is those are the estimates from Pella and there was nothing they could do. The windows finally were delivered early Jan. I then had to schedule the install with the company they outsourced to. We had to wait 3 weeks for the install and then 30 mins before they are supposed to be there the company called because they had to reschedule. We finally got out windows installed in Feb. When I talked with Lowe's about the bad experience they said they didn't do anything wrong or cause any delays so there is nothing they can do. I reminded them I ordered the windows through lowe's and it was lowe's responsibility to advocate for their customers with their vendors and manage those vendors Lowes representative had no clue what I was talking about and said he could only offer a $50 gift card even though the window order was over $7,000. Will never order anything or any service with them again.

The cashier in the gardening department told me that I as a customer could not bag the torn bags of top soil in the recovery bags and I had to stand out for 45 minutes by the bags waiting for cutomer assistance. I asked 2 young men in the gardening department if I could go get recovery bags since they were putting in mulch into recovery bags and had almost used all of them in hopes of speeding up the service. They said yes but then when I went to do it I was told by the cashier that I could not have the bags and that they were only given to employees. The process took 45 minutes for an employee to come out with recovery bags and place the 40lb top toil bags in them and for me to make the purchase. In the process I had to go to the service desk to get a manager. The manager came out, left me, and didn't send anybody else out. Then a woman who was a sales specialist came out after 45 minutes loaded the soil into the recovery bags and then into my vehicle.
Description of Work: We went to buy 40lb bags of top soil at a discount of 50% in recovery bags. This same experience happened on 5/12/13 and this time they closed the garden shop and we had to go into the store to make the purchase. I then asked if someone could load the top soil into the truck and they picked a male assistant manager that had to stay in the front of the store, so I had to go move my vehicle from the garden side all the way to the other side of the store so that he would be able to assist with loading the top soil. The overall purchase process took another 45 minutes from the time we got there until the time we left.

The doors were custom made so they had to be ordered. The installation date was 12/19. On the 19th the installers called and said when they went to pick up the doors, the patio door had been damaged - possible in transit from the manufacturer. They installed the front door that day but the patio door had to be returned to the manufacturer for repairs which would take a couple weeks. This meant the door was not installed until the first part of January which made it ineligible for the 2011 energy tax credit. We also had to call out our security company twice to connect the security sensors. This ended up costing us $$. The installers did an excellent job with the installation. However, I was disappointed with Lowes not paying attention to detail. The doors should have been checked when they came in to ensure they were okay. They need some quality control!!

Work was performed by Lowes' contractor-installer, Roger Niehaus. He called to establish an appointment for measurement, called to verify he was coming, and called back with details. When I mentioned we were looking for a weather tight storm door, not simply a security door, Roger pointed out that the model we had selected would have a gap at the bottom. He coordinated with Lowes to provide model numbers of doors that would meet our needs. His installation was hampered by our front door being out of square, but worked on it until it fit perfectly. He took the time to explain to me how to adjust the closing mechanism, should it ever need it. Overall, he did an outstanding job; the door looks and works great, he hauled the old door away, and, thanks to his concern and advice, we have the door that meets our needs and expectations.

I purchased a new Kohler toilet. The installer (Kirby Brothers) were great. A few days after it was installed, it wouldn't flush. I called Lowe's and they told me there was nothing wrong with the toilet. They have never had that problem before. They said it was my problem not theirs, and I could bring the toilet back. I only have one toilet in my house. I just couldn't bring it back. I finally convinced them to send Kirby Brothers back out. Mr. Kirby was wonderful he could not find anything wrong. He thought the toilet may be defective. He suggested maybe trying a different type of toilet. Oh my that was the beginning of my issues with Lowes. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. Lowes agreed to replace the toilet. I wanted to exchange it for the style the plumber recommended. Lowes would have no part of that, so I had to go with what I had originally. The plumber came a few days later to install the replacement toilet. I had the same problem. It wouldn't flush. They then decided the problem was with my drain. The plumber had to come back two days later. The problem was in the drain, and they did get it fixed. I would highly recommend Kirby Brothers. I will never deal with Lowes on anything major again.

I was very happy with my experience. The Lowe's associate was very knowledgeable and helpful. He did not try to SELL me a unit, but merely answered my questions, offered his input, and let me make up my mind. He was even nice enough to offer to hold up the paperwork if I did indeed want to get prices elsewhere. I decided that based on my previous experiences with trying to find a better deal than at Lowe's, to go ahead with the purchase. I even suggested that I might still go check out Sears, and might end up cancelling the sale, and he was completely unfazed. It was like he KNEW they couldn't be beat...And he was right, because I went to Sears, and although their prices weren't significantly higher, they were higher nontheless. So I stuck with what I had. I selected a 50-gallon Whirlpool unit @$414.00, with an extended 5-year protection plan (yeah I know, but $50 will look mighty insignificant if something goes wrong) @$50.00, with a $275 install charge, and arranged for a Tuesday install. The install guys ended up calling me Monday, and volunteering to install it that morning. I would've taken them up on the offer, but I was out-and-about when they called. So they called me the next morning around 10AM to let me know the installers would be there between 12PM and 1PM. It was a good thing that was the day, because the night before, my pilot light went out. The guys showed up promptly at noon, and just went about their business. They we're kinda young, and very cordial, but definitely were there to do a job. All told they were probably at my house no more than 45 minutes. After installing the unit, and loading the old one on their truck, they called me down to "inspect" their work, got my signoff, and were out of there almost as quickly as they came. They provided a 1-year warranty on their work. After they left, I went back downstairs and looked a bit more closely at their installation, and was as, if not more pleased with their actual work, than I was with their promptness and professionalism. The connections where very clean and neat. All fittings appeared very snug and well sealed, and none of the fittings looked scratched up and abused, as they would if the installers had had a hard time connecting the unit (see photos). Overall, great experience from beginning to end, on the parts of all involved.
Description of Work: My 10-plus-year-old water heater appeared to "suddently" sprung a nice little leak on a Friday. I decided I was going to price some replacements that Sunday. I had planned to get prices at Lowes, Sears, and Home Depot, so I stopped at Lowes on Shadeland first. The plumping associate helped me pick out a unit, and made the arrangements for an outside plumbing contractor to call me to set up the install appointment. The installers came and installed the unit, and removed the old one.

Everything was going as planned until the carpet was unrolled on our drive and there was a large black stain that could not be removed. This required a re-order and took some prodding to get Lowes to move as quickly as I thought they should to satisfy my wife and me. Adam Smith, saled manager was quite helpful and new carpet was delivered and installed in about 9 days. This time frame was much qucker than for the original order. It wasn't Lowes fault they were shipped damaged goods but it was their responsibility to fix it and they did that. We liked their selection and price and will consider using them again the next time we need carpeting.

My major complaint is that I had to wait a long time at Lowe's to finally get someone to wait on me, and get my order placed. However, the associate did a good job facilitating my order. The US Marble product is a beautiful looking countertop and it greatly enhanced the look of the bathroom. Overall the installers (Pete Davies and his helper) were professional and did a very good job.

Accepted delivery in exasperation of second refirgerator. Delivery person ignored door fit problem mumbling something about stiff gaskets. Discovered stains later. Phoned store and talked to a Molly who only wanted to order another refrigerator. My wife explained this was a bad solution due to the upheaval of delivery, cleaning another new refrigerator. The doors could probably be adjusted if they sent someone out and the stains removed . Lowe's not interested. Unable to reach anyone at Lowe's that cares and wants to resolve this to our satisfaction.
Description of Work: Second delivery of a new refrigerator, Whirlpool side by side, both damaged, second one has doors that do not fit plus glue stains on the inside and outside that do not come off. Whirlpool quality is terrible. First delivery refrigerator had paint scratches down to the shiny metal and poor fitting doors. Second one not much better. Delivery people in a hurry and no help on problems described below. Really did not care.

The refrigerator was scheduled to be delivered on a Saturday. Late in the morning I called to confirm that they were coming out and found out that somehow we were not on the list. The person I talked to said he had a crew finishing up their deliveries within the hour and he would have them load up our refrigerator on the truck and bring it to us. The delivery men were professional and very careful not to get any dirt on the carpeting or hit the walls. After removing the old refrigerator, they gave us time to clean up that area before installing the new one. When it was unpacked, we noticed a small dent on the lower rear side (not visible when the refrigerator is in place). They gave us the option of getting a 10% discount or they would return to the warehouse and get another unit. We were impressed with their patience and consideration even though our delivery was added on to their last delivery of the day.
Description of Work: Purchased side-by-side refrigerator. We wanted a unit without an ice-maker and water dispenser. Lowe's had a good selection of appliances and we were able to find what we wanted at a good price. The salesman was knowledgeable and listened to my request without trying to sell me features we didn't want. He was professional and courteous.

One of the cabinets were of wrong size, it was a mistake that I did in my measurements. The cabinets were sitting here for 8 months because of the delay in work. I had to return one cabinet and exchange one. The manager did all the paper work for me and exchanged it for me. I knew that Lowe’s was renting out pick up trucks for $19 an hour and I decided to use the service but the manager there gave me the truck for free and just asked me to bring it back when I’m done. There was a part time guy there who told me that he was getting off of work at 4 and offered to follow me back home to help me load and unload the cabinets. That’s the kind of service that I got at Lowe’s, it was unbelievable! The manager took care of the paper work himself, offered me the free truck and offered me help with labor and there was no hassle what so ever, it was a great experience. The product line of the cabinets I bought was no longer in the market, it was outdated but even then they took it back, that’s commendable.
