Smith came to our house to diagnose a problem that involved replacing old cast iron sewage pipes inside the house throughout the basement floor to the foundation where the new pipes would connect to the outside sewer line. It took L D Smith several attempts to inspect and diagnose the problem. Once they did diagnose the problem and explained the situation to us, we agreed to move forward with their recomendation to replace water and sewage pipes in the house to the foundation and connect the new pipe at this point to the outside line. Directly after the pipes were replaced, a faint odor of sewage began to build up in the basement. The odor slowly and steadily increased over several weeks and after about 3 to 4 months it became unbearable. At that point, we asked them to return to the house to see what was causing this problem. When they came to the house, they: 1. claimed there was no odor (despite my husband, myself, and a professional plumber stating there was a strong sewage odor originating near the connection of the interior and exterior pipes). 2. claimed that they stood by the work they did replacing and connecting the pipes and that the sewage odor we thought we smelled could not possibly be caused by a fault with their recommendations or their work. 3. would not look at the pipes they replaced or assess the problem unless we paid an inspection fee. If, and only if, we paid for a new inspection and they found that they were at fault, would they honor the warranty on their work. 4. suggested we seek out a second opinion to determine what the source of the sewage odor problem is and only if the second opinion determined L D Smith was at fault, would L D Smith honor the warranty on their work. After an extremely difficult interaction with this company about this problem, we decided to seek the help of another company. The new company assessed and diagnosed the problem right away and determined that L D Smith's diagnosis and recomendation for repairs was flawed or incorrect, that L D Smith installed the interior basement pipes incorrectly, that sewage was backing up in the pipes L D Smith installed, and that L D Smith connected the interior pipe to an exterior pipe that was broken and leaking sewage and water into the soil along the basement wall. The back up of sewage in the interior pipes and the leak in the exterior pipe was causing the intense sewage odor inside the house as well as on the outside of the house. We are grateful that we did seek out a second opinion to diagnose and correct the massive mistakes L D Smith made in our situation. After our experience with L D Smith, we are not able to trust them to be professional or fix the mistakes they made and face even greater costs to have our sewage drainage problems corrected. We regret calling on LD Smith and will not call on them again. Our advice to anyone who has a significant problem like ours is to call another company for help.

We had LD Smith (no relation) come out to handle drain-stoppage issue that had been recurring, ever more frequently. They quickly determined what was causing the problem and why it was becoming more/too frequent. We have an old house with very old and deteriorating outdoor connections to what was once a weird system of cisterns and septic tanks but are now connected to sewers. They worked out the best way to take care of things long-term and did it very efficiently. The work ended up being substantial, as we knew it would be. The price, timing, and personnel were all excellent. Of course, with any large (for us) project, there was a hiccup. They handled that with honesty, understanding, and aplomb. We will definitely be calling them first for future plumbing work.

Went very well. Teck was on top of determing the issue and the repair. Another company wanted to bust up the basement floor to fix what they thought was the problem. L,D Smith determined that was not necessary. repairs were fast and complete. Will use them for any future plumbing issue.

I had a ceramic cup fall in my toilet months ago and thought all pieces were out. After issues on the other side of the house with water not flushing in another bathroom, I called LD. Joe and Phil with a snake camera were able to find a ceramic piece about 2" in size stuck in my main pipe. They were able to push the piece to an easy location of my crawl to do a precise cut and remove and rejoin my pipe. Awesome work that I would not want any other company to handle. It was a Sh*T Show for sure. I did recommend they do Colonoscopy's on the side with their talents with the snake camera.. lol :)

They diagnosed over the phone and brought out a new pump and Float. they determined I could just replace the Float and saved me alot of money with this option. They were in and out in under 2 hours and excellent service.

Very smooth process - very easy to arrange an appointment. The plumber called about 30 minutes prior to his arrival to let me know he was on his way. Changed the old water heater out and installed a new one. Seamless. Everyone was very easy to work with and pleasant.

I moved into a new home back in March. On April 13th, 2018, I had to use my home warranty because my Water heater was leaking. The water wasn't staying in the pan and it was leaking all over my ceramic tile and onto the carpet. Kevin from L.D. Smith Plumbing came out. He told me I needed to have the water heater replaced. I agreed. He replaced it and installed the new one. He informed me that the home warranty didn't cover the disposal of the old unit, so at this time I paid $140, so he could take my old broken one away. Kevin at this time only replaced the water heater and not the pan. We talked about water leaking out of the pan and he saw water under the pan. He said that it will dry out, there was just a lot due to it leaking. Now fast forward to 9/21/2018, I had to have them come back out (through the Home Warranty) because the pipe on my water heater was leaking again! It was not holding in the pan again! I had to keep switching out towels every day for two weeks prior because the pan was leaking all over my ceramic tile and carpet again! When Kevin came back in he told me that he talked to the home warranty company and they said they would cover the leaking pipe, but I needed to add a expansion tank and they didn't cover that. He then joked about how he had to word things correctly to the home warranty people because they are picky about what they cover. He told them he had to change the pipe (which was on the side of the water heater), but when he told them that the pan was leaking again - they all of a sudden wouldn't cover him removing the water heater, so I had to pay out of pocket for that and that cost was $544! I at this time asked him why I would have to pay to have him "pull the water heater out" to see if there was a crack in the drain pan and his response was "Well it's not covered and that is the cost of labor to unhook the unit and pull it out to replace the pan". I stood in disbelief because the water heater needed removed anyways so he could fix the pipe and cut the pipe on top to install the expansion tank. He just looked at me like he understood, but said he had to charge me that. This was on top of the $364 I had to pay for this expansion tank because supposedly the water heater heats up too fast and it needs more room for the water to go when it expands. Not sure if this is true or not because right now I'm not believing anything I was told by this company. I had to pay the total $908 so I could actually have my 5 month old water heater working properly. I called the office on Monday 9/24/2018 to try and talk to the owner about my issue. I in no way needed to pay the $544 for him to "disconnect and remove the water heater" when he had to any ways to fix the pipe and install the expansion tank! I spoke to Jennifer, who claimed to be the office manager. At first she was extremely rude when I was explaining the situation to her and told me that back in April, Kevin never put notes in the system from my order about the pan leaking, therefore it was too long ago to assume that it was an issue back then. I explained THREE times how Kevin told me he'd have to remove the water heater to fix the pipe and install the expansion tank on top because he had to cut the pipe on top of the water heater to install the tank. She finally just said she would talk to the owner of the company and he would call me back. About 15 minutes later I received a call back from Jennifer stating the owner Lance, said she could refund $100 for the inconvenience. WHAT!?!?! I asked her what $100 of the $544 I paid for him to "just remove and disconnect the water heater" meant and why was it only $100, when in no way should I have had to pay this amount. All she would say is that Lance, the owner, told her just to do that, but she didn't know why it was only $100, she would put it back on my debit card I paid with. I am in EXTREME DISBELIEF about this experience. I feel 100% taken advantage of and lied to. When I let a service pro in my home, I'd expect them to be professional and do the right thing. I have asked the owner Lance to reach out to me, but still haven't heard anything from him. This was wrong and just a way for the company to get money from a home owner and the home warranty company. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. If the home warranty company assigns your plumbing issues to this company, call and have them send the request to a different local company! They take advantage of the customer and are just out to get as much money from a home owner as possible and double dip with getting money from the home warranty company. Their office staff is unprofessional and rude. Also, the owner Lance, must not care too much about his customer's experience if he won't even reach out and at least have a professional conversation with a customer.

I have nothing but great things to say about L.D. Smith Plumbing! After purchasing a new home, I was hit with unexpected sewer issues. Not only did they come out quickly to ***** the problem, the team was back out here the following day digging to replace my Main Sewer Line. Lance, Tim, and Phil made a horrible situation a little less painful. They were professional and dare I say...fun. Sometimes having random companies out to do work can be awkward but this team was not a typical service company. They were friendly, fair, and down to earth. They kept me informed in the process and the expected completion timeline. I would not hesitate to recommend them for your plumbing needs. Thanks to L.D. Smith for fixing my problem quickly!

I had to use this service due to a home warranty. I would NEVER use this service again. I had just moved into a new home in Meridian Kessler. Understanding there might be an issue down the road with tree roots and issues with pipes, I never expected this the first week we moved in. Home warranty sent these people out to snake the drains. At that time I was told the line was clear but they recommended I get a camera inspection - which I totally understand. Since I thought the line was open, I stupidly thought I had a bit of time before I got the inspection. A week later, the same issue occurred with raw sewage in the basement. The same people came and told me I needed to leave the home and that I needed a whole new main sewer line. This was done with the worst customer service/communication skills I have ever encountered. I then asked for a copy of the camera inspection, when I was told "I didn't record it. If you want it i will have to charge you". This tipped me off that something wasn't right, you either recorded it or you didn't. Why would I pay for something again that I just paid for? It didn't make sense. I was upset (as one could imagine) and not sure what to do. We have an elderly mother and several pets that would need to be moved. In the meantime and more money out the door, Hope plumbing (who I recommend highly) came in and they were able to open the line enough to give us a few more days in the home (using water conservatively). I paid for this outside of the warranty. LD Smith then had enough nerve to send me a quote for almost 15,000 dollars to put in a new sewer line, after I had kicked their plumber out of my home and asked him not to send me a quote. Another company that specializes in drains (Nuflow, who are awesome as well), came in and did another camera inspection and they were able to open the line completely. Guess what? My main line is intact and just needed to be flushed with more powerful equipment. Bottom line is I felt taken advantage of by this company, in a moment of stress. Thank goodness there are ethical companies in the world who will do the right thing by their customers. This sadly is not one of them.

Mark gave me a call 20 minutes before he arrived and he arrived well within the 2 hour window of the scheduled appointment. Mark listened to my concerns and the issue. He cleared the line I was having that drained from my washing machine. He then scoped with the camera the main sewer line to ensure the blockage was removed. Mark was courteous and a real professional.

The company was prompt to schedule my appointment and the plumber arrived on time. When I scheduled the appointment I was not told that it would cost extra to receive the video taken by the camera. When the plumber scoped the sewer line, they let us know the results would be sent by email. After a few days, when all I had received was a copy of the invoice, I called back to ask about the results I was told to expect. I was sternly told that video would have been extra, and that the results were on the invoice. This amounted to a one-line description of work.

We suddenly did not have hot water so because we had used L.D Smith in the past we called them to replace are Hot Water Heater. Unfortunately, I did not do my research on price before they came. Their plumber showed my husband only one option and my husband gave the ok. I was shocked to find out that they had just installed a $2,273.00 hot water heater that just 10 years earlier had cost $500.00. And when I asked the plumber why it was so expensive he replied, "I can stop right now! I have to feed my family." The water heater was, of course, installed. But, I am sorry to report that I had to have them out later because of the poor soldering job the plumber did. Not only was the solder dripping down the pipe but there was a small piece of solder that was like a hook and as shape as a knife. The second plumber had to redo the solder to make it look more finished and professional. It was obvious the second plumber knew what he was doing and took pride in his work.

Be careful who comes out. First guy could not find the leak, which was right at push/pull stop of toilet. instead he cut drywall thinking it was coming through the walls. water continued to flow and destroy my floor and garage ceiling below. Second guy came out and found the leak immediately. I would have been happy if they sent their main guy to start...apparently, there is one plumber in the organization who can be trusted

Great job-timely, professional, and reasonable price. I would definitely recommend.

Appointment was made days in advance and was given 12-2 window and got there around 2:30. My issue was price. Their cost was $260 to remove toilet and then reset it. I had another quote for $149 for the same thing but I was told I would have to pay a $67 service charge for just coming to my house (which is crap). Thankfully I had a $50 coupon from Angie's list to help defer the cost. So, my advice is to shop around and get up front pricing and ask if there is a service charge even if no service is performed. Bottom line. Way too expensive. Will not use again.

The repair tech was punctual. I explained that I had a pipe leaking under the kitchen cabinet that was creating a water problem in the ceiling below. I needed the pipe fixed. The tech quoted me $850 to do a job that took 3 hours and less than $50 in material. It was Friday afternoon and I had to have the pipe repaired. I believe the repair tech and this company takes advantage of people and price gouges. How can any company justify charging almost $300 per hour.

Really excellent. Lance and L. D. Smith contacted us and volunteered their services to help get a family back into their home after a fire. They had heard about the work that volunteers were doing to restore a home for a disabled older couple whose home had partially burned while the owner was in the hospital. And they just volunteered to help. These are great people who did excellent work in installing new gas lines from outside to the kitchen and utility rooms. We could not be happier with them. The work was complete, very well done, and they used the best materials.

Very professional. On time. Neat appearance. Polite. Called when 30 min out. Fixed diverter. I had all three cartridges replaced. That included replacing the three shower knobs as well in price. All prices were up front and posted and agreed before work done. Some things I could due myself but this job I wanted a pro - just in case to prevent problems. Tub drain linkage problem not fixed. This I tried to fix myself. Options too expensive to figure out the problem. Hoping for an easy fix but not possible. Tub drains but does not close for taking bath. I can live with it. Other less risky work I did myself. I know my limitations and call the pros in to avoid getting over my head. Price good and included new knobs!

I called on a Sunday night just so they would call me back first thing Monday. I didn't expect it, but the owner called me back Sunday night! He reassured me that the office would call Monday morning to set up something for that day and walked me through turning off the water heater. They called the next morning and were at my house by 11:30. Turns out it wasn't my water heater, but a broken pipe in the wall near the water heater. They got everything fixed up and we were good to go. Really appreciate the swift fix. We have a small baby so being without hot water for a long period was not an option.

Very well. A previous plumber hired for the same job could never ( 5 visits) get the shower-tub diverter to work properly so water either came solely out of the showerhead or substantially out of the showerhead even when the diverter knob was turned to tub flow. Mark with L D Smith explained the problem clearly and after I purchased a new valve, installed it and new trim in one visit.

He was a nice guy who got every thing done. My main complaint is it cost 470.00 dollars for an hour and a half of work. I'll probably try and find something cheaper next time
