Luther arrived at the promised time and gave us an estimate. His son and company arrived on time and did the work it looks great. They were prompt, courteous, and did a great job. I would use them again, and would refer them to others needing work done.

Luther Spears, owner of the company, was very responsive to my calls. He called back promptly and followed up when I had a question. His workmen always arrived at the exact time that they said and because I was having drywalling done it took several appointment. I really appreciated there responsiveness. I found that the workman were easy to work with, however, I found that I had to check their work in every location and every time that they were here. Once the job was completed I found that they did not pull out the the electrical outlets completely or cut some so large that my painters had to buy extra large outlet covers to cover the outlet. I also found that once the room was painted that you could see there taping of the drywall around the middle of the room.

Work entails hanging and finishing drywall for walls and ceiling for a 1300 sq. ft. basement. There are also three closets and three regular soffits with one very large soffits. The ceilings are 9 ft. where there isn't a soffit. Luther Spears was very friendly and punctual for my quote. He said he had 60 jobs ahead of mine and that it would take 6-7 days to complete the job. I believe Luther would do a quality job but the cost was just too high. I ended up paying half of his quote with another reputable drywall contractor. Materials for this job would only be about $1300. My thoughts are that hanging drywall does not really require high skill labor and should be relatively cheap. Finishing the drywall, really just the corners, is a skill job but requires a smaller crew. Paying 4X the material costs just doesn't feel right for this work.

They did a decent job. Had to come out to redo part of it but overall did the best job they could.

Luther & his son did a great job on the repairs to our walls. The ceiling repair (needed because of leak) looks fantastic, the texture match is great!! They were flexible on meeting my scheduling request for doing the work on a Friday/Saturday. We are very pleased with their work & will use them again.

It went great; they did a nice job on the kitchen ceiling. I thought they were going to do more area in the basement and they went to the trouble of coming back and discussing it with me; I decided that they were right and it was not necessary. There was no mold and they painted the new drywall for me as a bonus.

It went great. Mr. Spears is an artist; you really cannot tell where his patch starts compared to the rest of the ceiling. I didn't even have to repaint the ceiling, and the texture matches exactly!

They did a great job. They were prompt and very professional. They cleaned up after themselves and were very polite.

I chose a contractor that could do all the carpentry work as well. However they gave me an estimate on fixing the plaster ceiling around my fireplace. I will use them for that work.

The receptionist at the company was very nice. She contacted Mr. Spears via cell phone and he called me the same day to set up an appointment. He arrived a few days later and estimated my project cost to be $380. He was very nice and extremely professional. I decided to go with another Angie's List member for this job, as the other company will also paint the repaired areas. I would not hesitate to contact Luther Spears in the future for other plastering needs.

Mr. Spears was also recommended by our Angie's List mason, Dan Horner. Mr Spears cam out within two days after I called at the time/date he stated. He warned me over the phone that he was booked until spring with over 70 jobs. After inspection he gave me an estimate and described in detail how he would make the repair. The stucco section has been missing for years so we decided it would be worth the wait.

Luther was great to work with. He came out multiple times to discuss work, as we had to coordinate with roofers to rip out damaged area so flashing could be installed. Luther took the time to explain in detail how to make proper repairs and tell us how to explain to roofers. Workers came out promptly after calling that prep work was complete. Drop cloths were put on new roof to keep new plaster off roof. Stucco was matched to existing stucco very well. There was some small residue from the stucco on the roof, but after calling Luther he said that it would come off after rains or use viniger and broom. Great to work with.

I have used this company twice. I have found that they do good work at a fair price. I would use them again.

Luther came out to give me an estimate, and was able to send a crew out 4 days later to do the job. There were a few indentations in the work, but Luther sent out another crew to fix it free-of-charge.

They were excellent! The ceilings are beautiful. They worked quickly and courteously. Lots of plaster dust still lingers in the house but not unexpected.

You get what you pay for and Luther does outstanding, quality work. His team showed up on time each day. Were very professional and courteous. I would recommend them, without hesitation to anyone needing their services.

I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I am with the work from Luther Spears Plaster Contractor! Mr. Spears provided an original quote, which I found to be very reasonable considering the amount of repair to be made, and had his crew of three men complete the work in two days. I asked the crew to remove two ceiling hooks and repair the holes, which they did for no extra charge. The plaster crew arrived on time and were very professional; the work completed was meticulous. Mr. Spears came by the second day to oversee the work that was being done. The job was completed on time as promised. The living room walls and ceiling, in a 1941 home, that were in bad shape now look brand new. I highly recommend Luther Spears Plaster Contractor! This company deserves an A+ rating.

It was very good. The planning and carrying out were excellent. The owner was one of the three men on the job. They were in and out and the clean up was good.
