He called me back promptly and came out right away. The quote that was provided was three that of two other contractors ($7,000). He did not measure so I am not sure how he was able to come up with an accurate estimate.

I called for an estimate. The estimate was given the next morning. I called later that day to schedule. I was told it would be 2 to 3 weeks out, but could be earlier if it rained. I was called the next week and they said they could come out any time. They came out the next 2 days and performed the work. All work was done as expected. They covered most furniture, so the dust was kept to a minimum.

The plaster in my home is from the 20s and looks like a drunk did it. They were able to match it. They repaired all cracks in my wall, hallway, and basement. I had some water damage and they fixed that too. I called them and they were out the next day. Did a lot of work for only $850. The man who did the main work is probably the best plaster-er in the state! Even came out on a Saturday!

Luther was able to come out for an estimate within a week. We then scheduled the work to be done 2 weeks later (because of our time-line). They estimated 3 days to do the work, but were able to finish in 2 days. We have used them before and the workers always do quality work. I definitely recommend this company if you want great quality work.

He did a great job and charged a fair price. He kept everything very clean and we would use him again.

I've used this company before and once again, they did a great job on the plastering and texturing. I was disappointed that they no longer offer a discount for Angie's List members and believe that for a job that only took two hours, it was overpriced. However, these guys are good at what they do and did a fairly good job cleaning up after themselves, too. A good cleaning of their drop cloths would have avoided unnecessary messes. Overall, I would use them again.

This was a great experience. I called to get an estimate and it was lower than I expected to pay. We actually got the estimate and then waited about 6 months before proceeding because this is a rental property and we had a tenant living there. When I did call to schedule, I was told it would be 2-3 weeks. I really wanted to get it done sooner but decided to wait. Much to my delight I was called the next week and told they could come the next day! The work was done in a very professional and efficient manner. When the job was quoted, we did not include the second small area in the bathroom. The workers fixed it at no additional charge. We were so impressed I asked for a quote on other work to be done in the house.

Luther was available for a quote almost the next day. His men arrived on time. They were professional. Completed the job as asked. And did a pretty good job of cleaning up after themselves.

Mr. Spears returned my call the same day and also was able to come to my home and give me a quote the same day because he was in the area. The work was performed very quickly and was done perfectly.

We had a foot go through the wall and we contacted Luther G Spears. They arrived on time and had a great price. They did their best to cover the floor, but did leave a little mess going in and out. They did the job quickly and efficiently, and the price was actually less than I had expected.

Due to the hail storm, we had water damage in two of our bedrooms. The house has plaster lathe walls, so we called Luther for an estimate to repair both walls. We weren't sure of the extent of the damage and were concerned that it might be significant structural damage since one of the walls was soft. Luther was able to come out promptly to give us an estimate and told us it was just superficial and it would be approximately 6-8 weeks before they could do the work due to the hail storm. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and did a great job of educating us on how to care for our plaster/stucco home. We needed to have the roof replaced, so once the roof was finished, we called Luther to see if he could still come do the work. He sent a team over within the week, who without mess or delay, quickly completed the job. They cleaned up after themselves and even put a drop cloth at the door to prevent dragging mud and water through the house from their boots since it was a rainy day.

I'm impressed with how professional the company is, especially with working with smaller projects. If they said they were going to show up at a certain time, they did. They have fixed my living room and next will be some work in the kitchen. They are flexible in scheduling the work with me (i.e. the kitchen needed to wait until I have an electrician do some work.) After the plaster work is done, I will have them work on finishing drywall around some skylights I had installed this summer.

The workers were conscientious and on time and did the job promptly.

I was extremely impressed by the work and timeliness! I called at 7 pm on a Thursday night, had the estimate done by noon the next day, and they started work Sun morn at 7:30 am. By noon on Mon they were finished and cleaned up, saying the room was ready to paint. I thought it would take a while to get into their schedule and it's already done! They have even promised to return asap should I find any areas I deem to be dipping or bulging, though I can't see a thing wrong with it. They even patched an additional crack in another room without increasing my original estimate. This was a great company to work with and I would use them again in a heartbeat.

They were all very courteous, prompt, and efficient. Luther Spears came out to do a free estimate and gave me the best cost by far. I was impressed that the same company that would do the drywall work would also do the texturing of the ceiling swirl pattern and all at a very reasonable price. The work was done over two mornings, due to the need for materials to dry, but each morning they completed their work in a very short period of time. They did a nice job. My only concern is, I am rating them an A on Punctuality, but they did delay the work by a day due to a heavy snowstorm. Although I understood that the storm set their work back, they never phoned me to inform me - I happened to phone them the day before they were scheduled to work to confirm our appointment which had been set almost a month before) and that's when I found out they could not come the day originally scheduled! Good thing I called! I wonder when they were planning to let me know of the change!

Luther visited my home and I showed him where the repairs were needed. He gave me a reasonable estimate, but I decided to do the work myself. When I told Luther this he got very upset, told me not to ever call him again, and hung up on me. He was very unprofessional. I don't know if he was having a bad day or if he treat all his clients like this.

They did very good work, and were very responsive. The young men who did the work were neat and did a nice job.

We had some water damage to the wall and ceiling that needed to be fixed. Luther came out to give us a quote, he arrived right on time. During our discussion he mentioned how busy they were and that it may take a few weeks to get scheduled. This was good since I had to remove wallpaper off the wall so they could do the work. I asked when I should have it done and was told to call them when it was done and they would schedule us. Well, since I work better with a deadline they called me before I finished and asked if they could start the following day. So I got the wallpaper removed that night! The work took a few hours the first day and about an hour the second day. The first day the bad wall/ceiling was removed and replaced. The second day the final sanding and texturing took place. They cleaned up most of the mess, but some of the dust settled on the ground after they left. Overall we are happy with our experience.

Actually, no work was ever performed. I contacted this Company in August of 2006 and received an estimate and never heard back. Shortly after the 1st of the year, I recontacted them and was told they could get to it the next week and they would call back to schedule. Several days later, they just appeared at my door and left a voicemail wondering why I wasn't there. I called again and requested some advance notice to schedule and was told they would. That was the last I heard from them. They have a definite scheduling problem!

They were on time to give the estimate, early actually, and were able to start the work sooner than they had expected. It took the two days they had indicated and it looks good. The only negative is they could have done a better job not getting plaster dust in the other areas of the house and their clean-up could also have been a little better.
