Jay and his crew arrived on site everyday right at 7am. Communication was great and the end result was a deck that we love. I would recommend Jay to friends and family.

+ -1 morePerformed work in one day and it went pretty well. He was concerned about step baluster being solid and changed it. Good move. I was a little disappointed that a couple of the other balusters don't feel as solid attached which may be because the cement has had 2 other posts in the same location. He didn't tell me before he left and I haven't had time to ask him about why that is. Otherwise I am pretty happy with the hold job.
Description of Work: Took out old porch railing, posts and garage door trim and installed Azek railing and post, trim.

+ -1 moreJay was awesome! It's pretty refreshing to deal with a contractor who does what he says he's going to do. So many say they'll be there at a certain time, and either call to cancel or don't call at all; only to show up a few days later. We met at the house, reviewed the list of items I wanted done and we discussed a couple of ideas on building the deck. I had an existing deck from years ago that was at an odd angle from the house. i wanted to incorporate the new deck with the old one and Jay gave me the perfect design. He furnished me with his start/finish date and kept to it, even though I added a few other things to the list. The deck construction is incredible; other than old wood versus new wood, the decks look like they were built at the same time. He joined them in a way you couldn't tell. His trim work is very neat, paint job awesome, cleaned up his mess and was out of there at the time he stated. If I hadn't had other arrangements with two other contractors, I would have used him for the entire job. I highly recommend Jay for construction. Meticulous, dependable and affordable. Thanks, Jay!
Description of Work: Remodeling a house in the Southern Broadripple area required work I couldn't do. With the addition of all new doors (plus one where a window once was...), and a new bathroom window, the exterior part of the house needed trim work, paint and a new deck addition. I contacted Jay to finish out the trim and paint all doors as well as build a new deck from the back door to the existing deck.

Description of Work: Hired Jay to replace and paint some pieces of trim on the outside of my house. He was on time, offered a very reasonable price and got the job done quickly. What impressed me most was that he saw a problem with the way the original trim was installed and offered the suggestion to replace it correcting the problem. Would definitely hire him again!

+ 2 moreGreat, they started when they said they would, early in the morning, and finished ahead of schedule. They always clean up the work-site and a polite when working.
Description of Work: This is the third job I have had Jay do at our house, and like always, he and his crew are punctual and professional. My house was built in 1908 and parts of the wood trim have rotted and ornamental features have rotted away. Jay and his team replaced the rotted wood trim where needed, wrapped exposed timbers that would be prone to rot in metal, and fabricated and replaced ornamental features of our arts and crafts home. They painted everything and it looks great, with the missing ornaments replaced the house looks as good as new. Also, like always Jay thought out the most practical way to restore our home cost effectively. Jay knew it was important to me to get the work done before the holidays and got the work scheduled and completed promptly. I am not sure if I reported this earlier, but Jay also did some additional work on our home to stabilize and aging cantilevered porch, and the supports he added actually improve the appearance of the porch and it now feels rock solid. To help accommodate Thanksgiving guests Jay also built us a bench seat in out dining room bay windows. Our guests said they didn't remember seeing the seat before (because it was not there) but it looked like it was part of the original furnishings. It really looks great Thanks.

I got 4 bids from diferent vendors and he presented the highest quality, best priced solution. He and his crew were punctual and professional. they did exactly what they said they would in the timeframe they said it would take, for the price we agreed to.

Description of Work: He came in and replaced the glass in the skylight. He refinished our deck as well as patched and painted the ceiling where there was a leak. We had him replace a downspout and a gutter.
