For the creative mind and drive behind Jacoby & Associates, Greg Miller found a passionate approach to home renovation design based on his own experiences. In the late 1990’s he spent a lot of time renovating his various properties with the help of other contractors. Throughout the renovation process, he noticed two common types of contractors. The first type of contractor usually had great design ability, but lacked real world practicality. The second type tended to have excellent craftsmanship, however lacked in design creativity.
Our clients expect innovative designs that best serve their everyday lives. Balancing creative and practical design with top notch craftsmanship allows Greg to consistently provide a high level of one-on-one service, and communication our clients expect.
Greg understands that quality outweighs all, which is why he utilizes the talents of a tight knit group of craftsman. Only taking on a few projects at a time allows Jacoby & Associates to focus on the smallest details of a project. This approach allows us to promise that once your project is complete, the only thing you’ll be able to say is “I’m so glad we did this!”
Transparency, and pricing, and the willingness customize the design the way we want. The transparency, and willing to be flexible on the design. They had good quality on the quote.

We could not be more pleased with the outcome of the renovation. We live in a home built in 1927, and the laundry room was located in the basement. With small children we wanted to make the laundry more accessible. Originally we wanted to just put a stackable in the linen closet. Greg, the owner, had the idea of turning the unused lofted space into a laundry room. It was an amazing idea and such a good use of a dead space. At the same time, we updated two bedrooms on the second floor and reallocated the closet space between the two bedrooms. We had previous closets patched up, had the walls skim coated, replaced the plaster ceilings with dry wall, and added can lights and ceiling fans. Both bedrooms turned out beautiful! The team at Jacoby and Associates did great work. Things took a little longer than planned, but we did add extra projects for them to do. All of the workers were very friendly and easy to be around, as we did live through this renovation! We have previously used Jacoby and Associates and would absolutely use them again! Our house finally feels like home!

We used Jacoby last year for our master bath remodel and were extremely satisfied. Greg Miller met with us to talk about the new kitchen design. He submitted an initial plan which we made several modifications to meet our needs. To assist, we created an Ideabook on houzz.com of cabinets, designs, colors, etc. that we liked. Greg used this to make suggestions as we picked out material. We also used the Ideabook to help design a beverage center that we love! The entire project took longer than expected but it was due to delays in receiving our new range. We suggest ordering your appliances as soon as possible so they are in your garage when it is time to install. Greg guided us through the hardwood floor selection. We were particular on the color since it would be throughout the first floor. He showed us pictures of another remodel and brought samples for us to see. The color was perfect and looks beautiful! The key to a successful redesign is communication. We had some issues come up but Greg was always there to make things right. During the project, we added several items to the original contract (i.e., can lights into the family room). He gave us a fair quote for the additional work being done. We have lived in our home 22 years. Now when we walk into the house, we can't believe it belongs to us! We would recommend Jacoby and will use them again for other remodel needs that arise.
Description of Work: Complete kitchen remodel (redesign, some demolition, custom cabinets, fixtures, granite and soapstone countertops, tile backsplash, can lights, pocket door, new appliance installation) as well as hardwood floors for entire first floor (approx. 1200 sq ft).

Overall the project was a success and I am very happy with the end result. The quality of the work is excellent as is the end product. The bathroom is a full bath which is much bigger than I expected. This was my first remodeling experience and I would recommend that folks think a couple weeks out of where the project is. This will help when the time for selecting tile cabinets etc arrives, you have time to look at options. I found once I started doing this the project was more enjoyable. Greg is amendable to suggestions and changes as things come up. One great example was a table that I wanted installed and mounted. He worked to come up with drawings and suggestions how to achieve the look I wanted. Moreover, there are so many decisions to make in projects like this. When asked, Greg was willing to narrow the choices. This was very true when I was picking paint colors. Who knew there were so many beiges! Greg gave me two options to select from. This certainly helps with the decision fatigue and Greg could make more of these options for his clients. The only downside to the project was the timeline. The project was estimated to take 8 weeks and ultimately it took over 12 weeks. This was due to some redesign work in particular with the floor and bar that could have been avoided if discussed at the beginning of the project. Again I am extremely happy with the end product. I am looking forward to spending time in my new basement! Thanks Greg, James and Steve.
Description of Work: Greg and his team finished my basement. The work involved taking an unfinished space and installing a bathroom and bar. Greg was very go during the design part and his team in particular Steve and James were excellent craftsman.
We hired Jacoby and Associates to remodel our Master Bathroom. Work began in June with the gutting of the space. All workmen were skilled in their various jobs throughout the remodeling process. They cleaned up every day and hauled away the trash. The owner, Greg Miller, spent a considerable amount of time with us at showrooms helping us select the granite, travertine and accent tiles. We are very pleased with the final result and would hire this firm again if we had other remodeling jobs in our home.
Description of Work: Gutted existing master bath including shower, tub, cabinets, toilet, ceiling soffits and tile floor. An existing air duct under the floor over a finished basement was repaired. Travertine shower and floor with glass enclosure and door, new vanities with granite tops and additional storage cabinets, bubble bathtub, wood-framed wall mirrors with lighting, and toilet were installed. A ceiling heater and tub heater required installation of two new electrical circuits.
Greg Miller was great to work with. I had another quote from a firm that was $10,000 higher for the same type of work, but Greg had more creative ideas and used higher quality materials (custom cabinets and natural stone flooring for example). Our project in the master bath was a total gut down to the studs/drywall and the hall bath was just countertops, sinks, faucets, mirrors and lighting. He answered all of our questions and was very fair with any changes we requested along the way. His workers were neat, hard working, polite and dependable. The tile work using natural stone was outstanding!
Description of Work: Master bath and hall bath remodels
Our renovations are still under way, but we could not be more pleased with the work so far. We live in Meridian Kessler in a home built in 1927, so having our renovations represent that era was very important to us. Greg was very much on the same page, and guided us in tile, cabinetry, and fixture selections that would have been used at that time. Everyone who has seen our bathroom renovations immediately comments that the bathrooms, although modernized, are a beautiful representation of the era! The floors were sanded and stained beautifully! When we bought the house, the floors had been well cared for but they were blonde pine and there were several pet stains throughout the house. We had them stained darker, somewhere between a coffee brown and an espresso brown. They look rich and luxurious, and you can no longer see the pet stains. Our ceilings were plaster, as are most homes built at that time. At several points throughout the house, the plaster was cracked and sagging. Greg and his team replaced the ceilings in the living room , upstairs hallway, master suite, and nursery. They replaced the plaster with dry wall, added insulation, added can lighting, and ceiling fans in the bedrooms. They look amazing. We had a small seam in the living room ceiling. I brought it to Greg's attention and he had it fixed the next day. The painters were very thorough and patient, as I did switch colors in a few rooms and had not picked all of my colors when they started. They did make a mistake in painting the guest room, but fixed it at their own expense. They did a beautiful job skim coating the walls and ceilings. Our walls were extremely textured, and they recommended the skim coating as a less expensive alternative to knocking out the plaster and dry walling everything. We could not be happier that we did it! This review would not be complete without mentioning James and Steve. They oversaw the project from start to finish. They have been so helpful and professional. We were always checking in and asking a million questions. They never seemed aggravated and were always willing to offer an opinion or recommendation. I would definitely recommend Jacoby & Associates, and we would absolutely use them again.
Description of Work: We originally hired Jacoby & Associates to renovate/gut and expand our Master Suite bathroom and closet, as well as renovate/gut the kid's bathroom on the second floor. We also ended up using them to for several other projects throughout our house, including replacing plaster ceilings with dry wall, skim coating and painting the entire interior, refinishing the hardwood floors, and renovating the guest bathroom.

We met Greg Miller at the Home Show and was impressed with his attention to detail. After making an appointment, Greg was on time and very professional. He took pictures and sketched out the room. We talked about things we wanted to do. He had a plan and quote within three weeks. We did have another company provide a quote but went with Greg because of his design and detail, as well as his price. The hardest part for us was picking out the tile, but Greg provided excellent guidance based on our budget. We had some delays and the project took longer than expected but Greg always kept us informed. The wait was worth it because the bathroom is gorgeous! We have a 20-year old Ryland home and the old master bath included stock cabinets, a small shower and a large garden tub. We now have a beautiful bathroom with a walk-in shower, drying area, travertine tile and custom cabinets. We would highly recommend Jacoby & Associates and will be working with Greg on a plan for our kitchen soon.

We wanted to upgrade our counter tops with the remodel and looked at several pieces of travertine. We chose one stone and we weren't quite sure if it was what we wanted. Greg called and said a new piece had arrived and thought it would look good with our tile and cabinets. It was beautiful! It was about $400.00 more than our budget but well worth the cost. We are extremely happy with the look and quality of the stone.

We had not been considering granite counter tops when we remodeled two bathrooms this year. That was prior to meeting Greg Miller, principal in Jacoby & Associates and Jacoby Custom Tops as part of the work he was doing here at our house. It was a very pleasant surprise when Greg was able to show us that granite remnants were a cost-effective solution to the counter top search. We had a particular timing issue with cabinet installation (not from Jacoby) and then to get a top cut, polished, and installed in time to complete tile and finish work by July 18th. Dan Schindley, Greg's granite specalist, created a template on July 10th as the cabinets were being installed, called a couple of times over the next two days to discuss options and considerations, and then came back on July 14th to install the final top. We couldn't be happier with the work done by Dan and by Jacoby Custom Tops. We would definitely use Jacoby Custom Tops again.
Description of Work: Jacoby Custom Tops provided counter tops, shelving, and bench tops for two bathrooms.
I would have Greg Miller of Jacoby & Associates and his team to do repairs or remodeling again with no qualms. I can give him my highest recommendation. Greg and his team are very professional and gets the job done on time, within budget, and will do their best to give you a quality remodel or new construction. Greg has experience with physical adaption for those that have special needs so he was able to make recommendations on how we could put in for now and the future in these bathrooms. He designed in bars in the tub and shower as well as suggesting that we use comfort height commodes. He also designed in a granite-topped seat in the master bath shower that we are so grateful to have. Greg also was able to supply granite con We had some special needs on this remodel as we had a surgery date and both baths needed to be done before that date. Greg and his team made the date in spite of some structural issues in one wall due to a problem that had been there since the house was built. I met with Greg in early 2014 to discuss this work. Greg provided a highly detailed proposal, timelime, and statement of work that were very understandable, and very reasonable. Greg was willing to not only do the work but to allow us to use his discounts at the various suppliers (plumbing, lighting, tile, etc.) as well as use any materials that we purchased outside of the statement of work and then back out any purchases we made out of the total costs. Greg's team has electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and one of the best tile setters I've ever seen. Greg and Traci did the design on the tile in both baths that will not go out of style. Now to the work that was done. The house was built in 1965 and the bathrooms had not been touched since then. One had tile falling off and the other needed a serious update. Greg's team put down plastic runners and drop cloths to minimize dust, dirt, and debris in the rest of the house. The debris was taken off each day and the construction site was cleaned to minimize any migration during the evening. It was necessary to remove plaster on the walls and ceiling. Plaster in this house is 1" to 2.5" thick with wire or tubing reinforcement so it wasn't easy but Greg's team, Steve and James, did the necessary demolition in short order. This bathroom had a dropped ceiling and a wall that had to be removed that was replaced with a half-wall with a glass divider, making this bathroom seem so very much larger. Once Steve & James completed the build-out of the master bath, Greg & Traci came in to do the tile pattern & design. One of the problems that had to be handled was the threshold for the shower needed to be lowered to make it easier to get over after knee surgery. Once this bath was completed, the work started on the hall bath. The hall bath had it's own set of challenges with plaster that had to be removed, wiring to be done, and two sinks that were taken out and replaced with a single sink. All fixtures and cabinetry were removed, the demolition completed, and then prepped for tile to be installed. Greg's team was able to correct a problem that had been there since the house was built but hidden under the plaster with a minimum of delay so we were able complete this on the Friday before my wife had knee replacement the following Tuesday. Updates to the bathrooms: Granite counter tops Under mount sinks 14" wall tub Upgraded tub and shower fixtures with both fixed and handheld showers Comfort height stools Because of the pride of workmanship of Greg's team, we were able to correct problems that they identified as demolition progressed. We had other problems that we had no idea were there. We had leaking stool seals, and sewer lines that were corroding out that had Steve and James not spotted, could have been serious issues. In order to not delay the work on the bathrooms, we had another contractor come in and handle the plumbing issues as it could have delayed the work a couple of weeks. It was a pleasure to watch Steve & James work along with the other contractors in a very amiable and cooperative manner. Again, I would use Jacoby & Associates again for any work I need here in the future.

Greg Miller remodeled my kitchen and in doing so, installed granite on my countertops and island. Greg called me to verify which granite I wanted and had me pick out the specific slabs I wanted. There was an area on the slabs that was a different coloring that I wanted to try to avoid if possible. The granite fabricator (Dan) was very conscientious about this and contacted me several times to make sure I happy with everything before he started cutting and installing the granite. After being installed, the black seam color didn't go as well as he thought it would on the brown/black granite, so he purchased a color that would look better and came back out to my house and redid it. Both Greg and Dan were very easy to work with and I would hire them again in the future.

I received three quotes for my kitchen remodel and ultimately decided to hire Greg Miller (owner of Jacoby and Associates). Throughout the entire process, Greg consistently contacted me to let me know who would be working at my house the next day and what time they would be there. His workers always showed up on time, ready to work. Greg was also very conscientious about making sure I was pleased with the work that had been performed. When I expressed concerns with some of the tile installation, Greg sent the owner of the tile installaton company out to look at it and correct it to my satisfaction. Basically any time I had a question or concern about anything, Greg either answered it or sent someone to make sure I was completely satisfied. The sink I purchase was not a traditional sink, so there was some difficulty installing it. When the sink hadn't gotten finished being installed on a Friday, Greg sent two men to my house on Saturday morning to finish installing my sink so I wouldn't go the weekend without a kitchen sink. Greg also owns a granite fabrication company. The granite fabricator (Dan) was also very conscientious about what I was wanting and contacted me several times to make sure I happy with everything before he started cutting and installing the granite. After being installed, the black seam color didn't go as well as he thought it would on the brown/black granite, so he purchase a color that would look better and came back out to my house and redid it. Overall, Greg is very detail oriented, communicative, and easy to work with. I would definitely hire him again.

I was very pleased with the work that was completed. I was in the process of getting my house ready to put on the market and Greg worked with me on finding granite that would be neutral in color so it would appeal to buyers. The stone he recommended was perfect. The install was tricky since my kitchen has many angles. Greg's crew did a great job. When Greg came out, he measured my cabinets and looked at everything else that would come into play during the installation. He checked the trim work around my current countertops. He commented on the two pillars that I have on my countertops and how his crew would take them down, paint them and replace them. He talked about sanding and painting the area where my tile would be removed since I wasn't going to be replacing it. He looked at the wood trim in the bathroom that was getting a granite countertop and said his crew would cut trim pieces to fit where the old pieces were and then paint them. We talked about the corner shelf I have in my kitchen. When he left, I knew he was the person I could trust to do a good job. Greg stopped by several times to check things out. He wants to make sure that you are happy with each step of the installation. I would highly recommend using Jacoby & Associates.

We weren't completely sure what we wanted, though we knew we needed an update. We chose Jacoby and Greg based on Angie's List recommendations. First, Greg was tremendously flexible with his time, willing to meet with us during the evenings and on Saturday to accommodate our schedules. Second, he and his colleagues were very professional in their approach; listening to what we liked and did not like in bathrooms and working with us to design just what we needed. The work was quick and Greg's craftsmen/women were fabulous. We liked working with each and every one of them and highly recommend Jacoby for any bath or kitchen remodeling job.

Greg and his team were always professional, asking for our opinions, and providing their own insight to give us the best options for our projects. We had constant interaction, and they were very flexible in accommodating our requests. Our kitchen and bathroom look great. We plan to use Jacoby to remodel our guest bathroom upstairs next spring.
Description of Work: Complete kitchen remodel, master bath remodel, wall removal, replace 1700 feet of flooring (hardwoods including stairs, tile kitchen, tile sun room), paint in six rooms, install stoves, refrigerator, microwave and cooktop, reposition window, install lighting, wiring, and plumbing.

Jacoby comprehensively handled a complete the gutting and renovation of a 5500 square foot Meridian Kessler home with 6BR and 4.5BR. Greg Miller was involved in design of the bathrooms and kitchen as well as the mastermind behind the entirety of the renovation from demolition to finish. He provided great ideas but was always receptive to our feedback. The enormity of the work completed by Greg and his team could not be overstated. The price of the total work was extremely fair, we had received estimates pricing the work at 3 times as much! We have enjoyed our home now for 3 years and have no problems with the work that was completed. Absolutely would use Greg and Jacoby for future work but doubt we'll need it anytime soon. Greg's workers were honest, respectful people that we felt complete comfort giving access to our home, even when we were not there.

We were impressed with Greg's design, and that's what made up our minds when deciding on a contractor. The original bathroom was very sterile in appearance with a lot of empty space and a complete lack of storage. Greg's design included detailed drawings that showed us exactly what the remodeled space would look like. We knew we were paying top dollar for the custom cabinets, but had another bathroom in the home that had undergone a high quality remodel by the previous owners. The high-end finishes were important to us and we also wanted to respect the cottage style features of the our home. Greg was very professional throughout the entire process and answered my phone calls and texts promptly. There were a couple bumps on the road along the way, but he corrected these issues immediately. This included the granite company mistakenly placing a sink in the piece of the granite meant for the hutch opposite the vanity. The very next day, that piece of granite was removed and replaced with the correct "sinkless" piece. We also had a problem with the bottom cabinet of the hutch when the construction worker thought the kick plate for the HVAC vent should be cut out on the side of the cabinet rather than the front near the floor. I was willing to discuss a cosmetic fix for the damaged cabinet, but Greg insisted that total replacement was the only way to go. So 2 weeks later a brand new cabinet appeared. Greg allowed me to purchase some of the items for the bathroom on my own such as the light fixtures and towel bars. He respected my decorating style, but gave great advice when I was deciding between one light fixture or another. The project took longer than we thought it would (about 8 weeks, start to finish), but we were able to use the bathroom while the last finishing touches were completed. I had emailed Greg several photos of what I envisioned the remodeled bathroom would look like and when it was finished, I was happy to see how perfectly the bathroom matched what I had pictured in my mind. The additional storage we now have is amazing, and the quality of the cabinets and other finishes has made us very happy that we decided to take on this big project.
Description of Work: Our master bath remodel included installation of a new tile floor, and the replacement of the vanity, sinks, faucets, counter tops, toilet, and light fixtures. We kept the existing shower, but replaced the door and shower fixtures. The toilet was relocated, and a hutch and wall cabinets were installed opposite the vanity.

My husband and I went to the Indianapolis Home Show with the intent on finding a Remodeler who would come up with a plan for remodeling our guest bathroom. We spoke with several, got their cards and then went home to do our research. I got on the websites primarily, and was very impressed with Jacoby and Associates illustrated projects. And having met the owner/designer Greg Miller at the show and receiving a "good vibe" from him, we decided to have him to our home to look at our project. Greg looked at not only our guest bath, but we posed the possibility of a few other projects we were considering, these including two more bathrooms, our guest room closet, and our bar and family room area. After listening to our ideas and looking at numerous pictures I would send him of concepts that appealed to us, Greg came up with designs and pricing for all these areas and we decided to "bite the bullet" and proceed with all the projects. We did have strict deadlines, however, and wanted to be sure these would be adhered to. These were none of them small projects. The bathrooms were all completely gutted, plumbing and electrical rerouted and the areas finished with extensive intricate design and tiling. The same was true about the bar and family room areas. From start to finish the projects took 16 weeks, and my timelines for each project were, for the most part, met. For the amount of work that was done, and believe me it was major, I feel that completing the work in 16 weeks was amazing. And none of the detail or craftsmanship was compromised to do so. In fact, I think the talents of the workers were extraordinary. They took great pains to make sure everything was done correctly and just how I wanted it. And if it wasn't, they would work to make it right. The workability and friendliness of the work crews and their foreman were top notch! And the "hand-holding " of Greg was just the perfect amount. He assisted me with concepts and material choices when I wanted his help, but was never pushy with his own ideas, recognizing that this was my house to be done my way. Remodeling jobs are never easy, what with having your home torn apart while you are living in it and having people in and out of it nearly nonstop. But Jacoby and Associates' designer, foreman and crew made the experience as painless and pleasant as one could possibly hope for. As for pricing, I really have no reference. We interviewed only Greg and having felt comfortable with his approach and honesty, we moved forward with Jacoby and Associates without comparing pricing. But we got the results we were after, and then some. So we feel the money for the projects was well spent. My husband and I would highly recommend Jacoby and Associates for any remodeling projects one might have.

During the quoting process, he provided us with detailed drawings of the layout and a detailed bulleted list of everything we could expect. The quote was not the cheapest we had, but Greg met with us after he prepared the package to make sure we unerstood everything. Other companies would not even show us their proposed floor plan or hardly any details until we signed a contract with them. Greg made the decision easy. Destruction was quick. One of my stipulations was to re-purpose all my appliances and cabinets. I did not want them going to a landfill. The crew delivered all my old kitchen cabinets and appliances to the charity of my choice, which I was grateful for. Mechanical work of wiring and plumbing took longer than I expected, but that was because they did not come in and tear up my walls and rip out old wiring. It simply takes more time in order to install new wiring and plumbing without completely destroying my lath and plaster walls. The best part of the kitchen project are the cabinets! Custom Amish made cabinets that simply can't be beat. I was nervous about buying cabinets before I see them (like you do at the big box stores), so Greg gave me a name of former customer so I could see the quality of the construction on the cabinets. After seeing their cabinets and completed kitchen, I knew I made the right choice. Our cabinets are maple shaker style cabinets that beats any quality I've seen. There were issues with a couple of the doors, but the crew replaced them at no extra cost. Since the cabinets are custom made for my measurements, they go completely to the ceiling, fill all the space I need properly, and are truly one-of-a-kind. Since my home is an older bungalow style, space was an issue. To solve that, the kitchen design involved a built-in seating booth in order to wisely use up all the available space. With the built in booth, I can comfortably seat 6 people around my table. The table and booth are made of the same maple as the cabinets and simply looks outstanding. The construction was so good I had the same Amish folks make me a set of maple chairs, which were delivered a few weeks later. Truly custom. The older linoleum floor in my kitchen was removed and the crew interlaced new oak wood flooring with the existing wood floor with no seams. After that, the refinished all the wood floors in the entire house. The refinished floors look great. I am not very design-savvy and have poor artistic ability. Greg was able to provide us with great guidance as we selected our granite countertops, fixtures, and cabinet hardware. Design might be the best part of Jacoby & Associates. We could not be happier with our completed kitchen.
Description of Work: Removed a wall combining seldom used dining room with a small kitchen. Created one large kitchen with a built-in booth and table. New cabinets and countertops, interlaced new wood flooring with existing wood flooring and refinished wood flooring for entire house.

We met Greg at the property to discuss our goal of giving the house a makeover prior to putting it on the market. We had an idea of what we wanted to do to make the floor plan flow better however during our walk thru he provided several ideas that we hadn't thought of doing while keeping our rate of return in mind. He also offered advice on design concepts that would be most appealing to a potential buyer which we found very helpful. We chose his company over others because he clearly understood our goals, we liked his ideas for the home and he provided a competitive bid. He and his crew were very professional and kept us informed regularly on the progress of the project. Overall he took a potentially stressful undertaking for us and made it into a simple task. Although we decided to spend slightly more than we originally had budgeted we feel that it was well worth the investment. The transformation was amazing and we received a top dollar offer on the home prior to being listed and while under construction. We closed on the home just a few days after construction was complete. I would highly recommend his company especially if you are looking for guidance on project plans.

Greg was wonderful to work with, I only wish we could afford his services! We loved getting to know him and were extremely pleased with how well he actually LISTENS to the desires and needs of his clients. It was clear to us that Greg would provide a very well finished project that we would be happy with, but unfortunately, we were unable to afford the $38,000 renovation to our home. I would definitely recommend him for any project though. He is very professional, courteous, and respectful of time; not to mention easy to talk to and responsive.
Description of Work: Greg met with us to create a plan for our bathroom and bedroom remodel in our 1927 home.
