Very, very disappointed. The project took twice as long as estimated. There would be many days at a time that no one showed up to work. The final product has been riddled with problems and costly repairs. I would never recommend this company to any one!

I have never trashed a company via social media but I just have to share my completely disgust with OEG/Indy Custom Pools. They started our job Dec 23 and it is still not complete. After many conversations, complaints & us begging them to get the pool & yard finished ... we only get empty promises of work that doesn't get done with no apologies, explanations or urgency of fulfilling the contract. They literally just don't care! This morning I called the owner, Chad Bruick, to complain that the work they told me was scheduled to be done last week never happened. He had no explanation, but told me he JUST saw our plan for the first time this morning! WOW - He was standing next to me a month ago when we went over every plant & rock - ? He watched me sign the contract and scheduled the little bit of work they have done - Really? When I asked him to explain how he could say he never saw our plan when he's been telling me work was scheduled (but no one sows up) -- he told me if I want to hire another company to finish the mess they started .... go right ahead. SERIOUSLY! PLUS - the pool has areas that they have to re-do/finish & they can't seem to get it done either. There is grout missing, areas of coping are lifting - the pool cover has problems, etc. It's been an awful experience with this company, perpetuated completely by the owners - it's crazy. I am in shock at the absolute lack of professionalism, quality & customer service we've experienced from OEG (Outdoor Environments Group)/Indy Custom Pools -- DO NOT HIRE.

Response from Indy Custom Pools
Company Response: After completing a successful pool and landscape project the Culp family, and a pool and multiple landscape projects for the Boeck family, Tim and Kathy Donnar having recently moved to the same street contacted OEG and Indy Custom Pools for a similar project. To Whom It May Concern, We decided to use Indy Custom Pools to build our concrete pool in July 2012 after watching them build a pool for our neighbor the previous summer. They worked with us to make sure we had the right design, and were very helpful as we made our interior finish, tile, and other selections. The construction process went smooth, and we were able to enjoy several swim days before the end of the season. Indy Custom Pools have a professional team, and build a quality product. We are happy with our pool and I would recommend them to anyone interested in a custom pool. Becky Culp Becky & Kevin Culp 10220 Hickory Ridge Dr Zionsville, IN 46077 Our first consultation was October 4th with Tim and Kathy Donnar to discuss design options and desired site enhancements. We again met on October 18th to present our initial concepts and budgets. Our landscape budget was $112,418 and the pool was $80,918. Tim called back and said this was too much to spend on the pool garden at this time and asked for us to reduce the project cost. We met with the Donnar’s again on November 8th. At this meeting we had two estimates for the pool garden: Pool ($80,918) Pool Garden Hardscapes Phase 1 ($38,287) & Pool Garden Phase 2 (Spring 2013) ($23,416). The hardscape number included the following: Site Preparation, Downspout Drainage, Super Slab Walk at Garage, Boulder Retaining at Pool Deck (reduced from original contract amount), Stained Concrete Pool Deck, Stain and Seal Existing Concrete, Pump Truck and Masonry Modifications on Residence. All plantings and lawn repair were included in Pool Garden Phase 2 (Spring 2013). Following our November 8th meeting, we received an email from Tim asking us to further reduce overall cost again from $121k to $112k. November 14th a revised hardscape number was emailed with the following changes: Boulder retaining further reduced, pool deck surface changed from Chiseled Edge Concrete to Stained Concrete and pool deck square footage reduced. These changes dropped the hardscape number to $34,841. Again, Tim requested a reduction in price. Stone steps were removed from the pool deck to lawn to get to a price of $31,544. November 27th Tim Donnar emailed us and requested and additional pool price reduction of $3,918.00 to $77,000. Tim agreed he would take care of the gas and electrical hook up. Tim Donnar also stated he did not want a reduction in scope of work in order to achieve the pricing concession. November 29th, we signed contracts with the understanding it would be a fall project start and spring completion. The contracted work was comprised of the following: Pool ($77,000) and Pool Garden Hardscapes Phase 1 ($31,544). On December 19th we installed the concrete shell for the pool. Due to the seasonality of our business and in climate weather the project then remained dormant for the duration of the winter. We resumed work in the spring and despite record spring rainfall and record setting snow in March we were able to have the pool deck and pool completed and functioning Saturday April 27th in time for their son’s party. It was this same day that Kathy Donnar stopped her car in the street while leaving her home and inquired when all of the plantings, lawn, and concrete parking area were going to be installed. This was the first time that we became concerned that the scope of work Tim Donnar had contracted us to perform was not clearly communicated within the family. Thursday May 2nd, We met with the Donnar’s on site to review additional work to the front of the residence. At this meeting, we mentioned that we did not have any landscape in our current contract for the pool, as it was removed to achieve to the desired budget. Kathy was surprised with this. She wanted to immediately get a design and discuss plants. We walked the garden that day and met again on site with revised numbers for the pool garden and additional car park on May 16th. During this meeting, Kathy signed the contract for the car park. May 21st we sent Tim and Kathy a revised estimate that included the pool garden phase 2 with additional car park in one contract. Kathy emailed May 23rd her approval for the additional work. Although we then continued to service the pool at no charge and install the elements of the landscape project it was not within the Donnar’s timeline expectations. We then received a very frustrated phone call from Kathy Donnar on June 24th. Kathy yelled for at least 20 minutes releasing her emotions surrounding this project. Due to us not reacting Kathy misinterpreted our silence for a lack of concern. At this time we offered to have her hire another firm to complete the additional work they desired. Kathy then stated that we were “Done”. This experience is very unfortunate and inconstant with two very similar projects that we performed immediately across the street. The significant difference is that the client did not have a clear understanding of the work that they had contracted us to perform and continued to modify the scope throughout the project. Resolution: It is our desire to complete the following punch list items: replace two pieces of coping, and be paid for

Description of Work: We used this company for pool service & weekly cleaning last year and they did a great job. This year they opened our pool this year, and we had them for our weekly chemical & cleaning service. We have a liner pool with a chlorinator. They didn't shock, add chlorine tabs to chlorinator, or clean our filter. They vacuumed our pool and that's it. Needless to say our pool developed black algae that we are still fighting weeks after we fired them. I've hear they have changed ownership or management. i could go on....but I'll keep this brief! This is my first ever negative review on the internet.

We bought our home 2 years ago and it had a pool. We had no clue how to maintain a pool so we called this company. They came out and helped and were very nice. We needed steps in our pool and had them give us an estimate and they were not able to do it at that time and told us to call back. We called back and for some reason they are avoiding us and we have not been able to get the steps put in. This is just a job for pouring concrete and installing steps it should not take long to do this job.
Description of Work: This was for pool service and estimate on steps.

The client requested that we perform work that was not an appropriate solution to the problem. Unfortunately do to us not performing a solution that we did not agree with it has been perceived as poor service.
