 + -1 moreI contracted Tom to replace trim, and soffit on the exterior of my home. After receiving a quote I agreed to have him complete the work. I paid him 1000.00 up front for him to buy materials. After a couple of weeks he showed up and said he couldn't do the work because I had already installed the gutters. The only work he couldn't do was a 6 foot section of facia and soffit. I told him to just leave me the materials he had already purchased and deduct the cost from what I had already paid him. . He left 1 - 4 x 8 sheet of cedar plywood for soffit 1 - 1 x 4 x 12' and 1 - 1 x 4 x 8' cedar trim board and 36 total feet of cut sections of 10" cedar lap siding. He gave me a credit of only 392.00. When I asked for a receipt to justify the total cost and possibly return some supplies he told me he couldn't do that because he had spent too much time already on this project and lost a lot of money.
Description of Work: Replace trim, soffit and facia boards where needed. Replace damager cedar lap siding and vinyl siding as needed.

Description of Work: Tom came out and fixed one of the soffits on my roof that was dangling. He also replaced my bedroom door for me and didn't charge me for either job.

 + -1 moreThe job went well. There was a small crew of 3 fellows who carefully removed the damaged guttering taking care not to damage the tree saplings directly underneath. They had to connect up with existing guttering and did so that it appears that the work was done all at one time by the same company. They took time to clean up the nails and scrap materials before leaving the job. This was not our first time using Indianapolis Contracting. Tom Pulley is wonderful to work with and only hires the most capable folks to work for him.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced gutters on the left side and back side of the house and installed gutter covers.

 + -1 moreTom was very responsive and was very easy to work with. He was very flexible in meeting with me and my wife to discuss everything before the work was started. He even taped up a crack in a piece of siding when first looking over the house. There were some spots in the roof that weren't as flat as I would have liked, Tom fixed one spot and had a couple workers come back and fix other spots. The two workers left without having me double-check the repairs, which was a bit odd, but they seemed to do a pretty good job fixing the uneven spots. So far the roof seems to be performing well.
Description of Work: Replaced entire roof with 3-tab shingles, replaced all roof vents.

 + -1 moreWorked with IC to resolve claim with insurance company. Scheduled date for repairs to begin. Workers showed up on time, did the repairs, cleaned up, and departed as scheduled. Work so far is satisfactory. Guttering details were handled very well. I have used IC twice before at my previous home to replace the roof and to improve roof drainage. I have always been happy with the work of Indianapolis Contracting and have recommended them to others.

 + 1 moreThis was a major project. Things went well from start to finish considering the scope of the project. I met Tom Pulley when he came and looked over what I was wanting done. Tom was knowledgeable and to the point. We received the estimate and agreed to have his company perform the work. This was a three stage job; tear down and replace the chimney, replace the shingles and finally, replace the gutters and any gutter boards that needed replacing. Tom was always available to answer any questions during the project. When the work was complete, Tom came and addressed any issues. He wanted to make sure that we were satisfied, and we were. I would recommend Indianapolis Contracting.
Description of Work: Brick chimney was removed down to the roof line and replaced. Shingles were removed and replaced. Gutters were replaced (and gutter boards where needed).

 + -1 moreMet with Tom on Thursday, to go over some leakage that that I was having with my roof around my chimney. On inspection he noted several areas of concerned and took the time to describe what his recommended solution would be. He told me that the work would begin the next week (Wednesday), but it was pushed to Saturday due to weather. I was not home when his crew arrived to do the work, but I had the area prepped for them (made an electrical cord and moved items out of the way). When I came home they were 3/4 of the way completed with the job, but took time to describe and show me what they had discovered. His crew was polite and left the area clean and free of debris. One of his crew came back on Sunday to fishing the caulking about the flashing to make it nice. Really appreciated the fact that I didn't have to be there and that they cleaned up their mess. Really pleasant to work with and highly recommend them for future work.
Description of Work: Replaced flashing around my chimney and replaced roof decking damaged by previous installer.

 + -1 moreTom came out to repair a roof that his crews put on incorrectly in 2006. He did this under warranty(which he claims isn't transferable, but it doesn't say anything on the contract about being transferable). Long story short, the roof is still leaking in the same spot. Tom was scheduled to come out on a Monday (today)and called to tell me he had a doctors appointment at that time. No big deal. He then proceeds to tell me how he remembers the job and how he did the repair out of the goodness of his heart. I said, no you did it because it was under warranty and it is good business practice to honor your warranty. He became very argumentative. I think this could have been his "out" from coming and looking at the roof. After all, he knows how many times he has had to come out and repair the initial roof Indianapolis Contracting put on. The warranty is 5 years, which expired in 2011 for the whole roof. The repair job should start over again from 2010 since it is the same exact spot where it has always leaked. Tom claims there is no warranty on this repair. I now have mold and water damage to the drywall as well. The roof had to be repaired in 2007, 2009, 2010, and now again in 2012. My unprofessional opinion is that the roof hasn't been right since it was installed. Unfortunately, Tom isn't willing to work with me on the issue. At this point, I am stuck and will file a small claim against Indianapolis Contracting for a roof that has not been right since it was installed in 2006.

 + 0 moreI had signed a contract with him. He was a member of Angie's List. He never got here. When they came out and did the estimate and set the contract to be signed, I was assuming that it was going to be within 3 or 4 weeks, but it went on and on. It was a roofing deal and when it got up into late November, I just decided that it was too late to be done. There was no proposed date. It was scheduled up on them getting their mason guy out to do some chimney work and then they would come right behind and do the new roof. I'm not complaining about them. They were very professional and prompt. The guy who came out was very professional with the way he talked through things. Their price was very fair. Their responsiveness was a concern because I kept waiting for them to call and I contacted them a time or two. They were punctual on giving me the estimate. I'm going to try to get them out here to do the work.

 + -1 more. They seem to be very thorough. It was kind of a tricky situation and he really took his time trying to get the information together. Initially he was very responsive. About a month after I got the quote I put a phone call in to talk to him again. I got a recording so send an e-mail and I never heard back. But things happen and I arranged for another contact. I would not hesitate calling them back. I did not follow up after my initial contact with them. I would not discount them.

 + -1 moreAs far as the repair goes, his knowledge is excellent. He is the only man who crawled all the way back into my attic to find out where the leak was. Actually, he did the roofing to make sure that he has seen where it's a leak around the chimney. The guy who owns the company had seen the leak in one corner of the chimney; but it was appearing on the outside of the roof. He had seen where the water was getting in at the time there. He repaired everything. The price was good and fair. It was reasonable. When I contacted him, he called back almost immediately. I set up a time with him to come out and see the roof. He did a great job.

They did it and it leaked worse after they did it the first time.They acted like they were mad. They came back and recovered it again. They didn't listen. They have a very arrogant attitude.

 + 0 moreOverall, my experience was okay with the work completed. This should have been fixed in 2007 when the previous owners let him know about the leaking. It didn't take 2 minutes on the roof for either contractor to identify where the problem was coming from. My experience would be great if they would put my ceiling back in the condition it was before they did the botch job around the chimney.
Description of Work: Indianapolis Contracting roofed the home I am currently living in for the previous owners after the hailstorm in 2006. When the roofed the new home, they did a good job on the majority of the roof, except for around the chimney. I did not know who did the roof and got a contractor off of Angie's list to come and check it out due to leaking around the chimney. They showed me that the original roofer shingled the roof first and then the cricket behind the chimney to divert the water. This allowed water to seep in and leak through my ceiling. They also showed me that the flashing that was installed did not get put into the mortar joint around the chimney, rather it ran parallel to the chimney and then had caulk sealing the gap from the chimney to the flashing (approximately 1 inch). He told me these two places were allowing water to seep into my ceiling and made my drywall look like crap! I then found some paperwork that the previous owners left that indicated Indianapolis Contracting did the work initially. I called and told him the problem and that I had documentation that the leak had been going on since 2007 and they had caulked some vents...which weren't even close to the leak. Tom told me he could be out in 4 days to look at it. He actually called 2 days in and told me that he could come by if I was available, which I was. He told me the same exact things as the previous contractor and I asked if this was under warranty. He was unaware that I told him Indianapolis Contracting did the work initially, which is understandable due to the job being completed 3 years prior. Tom told me he would have his crew out the next day, which they did come and complete the job. My complaint here is they never told me they were going up nor let me know when they left so I could inspect the roof and inquire about my ceiling getting fixed as well. I went up on the roof the following day and it looks as if they did a good job, albeit the second time around (third if you count them caulking the non-leaking vents). I am awaiting a good rainstorm so I can see if there are any signs of leaking again. If you read this comment Tom, I would still like some sort of a return call to discuss my ceiling.

 + 1 moreNew roof - excellent, clean-up was good although I still find roofing nails from time to time. Other than stepping on some shrubs while installing the siding, it all went very well. Workers were polite and receptive to the disruption it was causing.
Description of Work: House was severely damaged after hail storm in Fishers in June 2009. Tom Polley gave the most honest estimate of three that I had called. They installed a new roof, new siding, wrap arounds on all trim, new gutters, soffits, down spouts. Work was done well with Tom supervising much of it.
