I am in the process of closing on a home and so I scheduled a home energy efficiency audit with the company to meet my realtor on the date and time scheduled. I was told I could expect a phone call during the audit so I could make the payment. I never received a phone call so I called the company who put me in touch with the owner Steve who was also conducting the audit. Turns out he was 45 minutes late and told my realtor he doesn't provide the service I am requesting and has no official paperwork. After clarifying my needs with him on the phone I told him I would call my lender so I can let him know exactly what they need as I am trying to get a line of equity for home energy improvements upon closing. After expaining that I needed a basic sheet which will show the savings of suggested improvements the owner then told me that would be $500. An unadvertised increase of $300 from their home energy audit. I didn't ask for an extra service or time, but a basic estimate of what my savings could be if I made improvements to the home based on his findings. My general impression was that he just didn't want to work.

Very well. We have not noticed the dust problem reoccurring.

Within a week of agreeing upon the scope of the project, we were underway. Despite my doubts, the project was indeed completed in one week. Considering the scope and size of the project, it is pretty amazing the work was completed, oh and this included zoning the HVAC to the home next door at the same time. Amazing service and professionalism. If you need an insulation review, this is THE provider for the area.

They have changed their name. They come in annually and check it. They are doing fine. This is their current name. Everything is fine thus far. I've been using them since 1976 and have no reason to change.

Met personally with owner (Steve Lindley) to get a price quote for fixing the air flow in one room of the house although no effort was made to reply to my email or voicemail messages regarding the details of the work to be done. Just because one does not work on the weekends is no excuse for lack of communication. More questions were required and since the pricing was far too high for the one room (and communication was lacking with no one getting back to me) had to cancel the work that would have been scheduled. Owner needs to improve communication with customers! Will look elsewhere.

I was very pleased initially with IHCS (formerly Lindley Heating and Cooling). The pre-sale energy audit was incredibly thorough and well worth the time. I really liked my sales guy Bob as well, who is no longer there. When it came time to do the project, the end result did not meet my expectations in terms of quality and professionalism. There was a miss in expectations regarding what would be done vs. what I talked about pre-sale. Since my air returns are not ducted (instead leveraging cavity between wall/floor joists), they said they could not seal the returns. I ended up calling Aeroseal and confirmed this is their recommendation. While the supply vents has the bigger impact on energy efficiency, I was really looking forward to having the returns sealed for indoor air quality. IHCS sent out two relatively junior guys, and they stretched the work out to fit two days - doing one system each day - with plenty of smoke breaks in-between. They were friendly, and didn't leave any cigarette butts in my driveway, so whatever. My issues were more with the quality of the work. This is a large house with a lot of registers. When the techs were done with the Aeroseal process, they proceeded to do some caulking around the register vents. Great idea, I was not aware this would be done as part of the service. However, if you're going to do something, at least do it right and put some quality into it. I looked at every register on the main floor after the fact and found they missed numerous gaps and did a shoddy job on this. In the basement and upstairs the supply vents are in the ceiling. They were in a rush putting the vents back up and many of them were not screwed back in the same position they were removed from. Several vents were bent a little because they screwed them back in too hard. I just found a vent screw on the floor of our nursery, which came down because it was not re-attached properly. This is something our crawling 1 yr old could have found and tried to swallow. On one vent, when they removed their sealing tape some ceiling paint was removed. They said they would fix it because their tape wasn't supposed to do that, but never did. I still have to go around and resolve all the ceiling mounted vents and probably fix shoddy caulking here as well. Seeing some of the haste involved with their work, it makes me nervous that the job was completely property on the upstairs unit in the attic as I chose not to go up there.

Went really well. Adam was on time, communicated everything very well with me.

Adam did complete check of my air conditioner status. Did a complete verbal explanation of the whole system. Complete listing of repairs needed of my 27 year AC model. Gave good advice on my options to have good long working system for the best cost factor.

They canceled the first estimate appointment because they were slammed with air conditioning emergency calls, which we rolled with and were agreeable to. And then on the rescheduled day they didn't show up at appointment time. I called 30 minutes after appointment time and their dispatch said they were all having trouble contacting me with the number I provided. Miraculously the technician was then able to contact me to tell me it would be another 75 minutes before he could get there and asked questions like he had no clue what the estimate was for, which was discussed in detail prior to scheduling both appointments. No need to reschedule with this kind of service.

Adam inspected the units, found the problems and came in and consulted me. When I approved the repair needed. He complete the repair promptly.

Michael did a good job repairing the broken furnace part and cleaned up the blower. He explained everything well and I was happy with the service he provided.

Robin performed the blower door test and offered solutions. He explained everything well. The production crew came and did a good job sealing most of the air leaks and the insulation crew upgraded the attic insulation. Overall, the experience was positive.

Bob was very professional. Came into the home because we are experiencing major temperature changes in our upstairs bonus room. We are expecting our third child and would like to use the space as a guest room. It is freezing in the winter and extremely hot in the summer. He did a complete inspection and provided easy suggestions that we could do ourselves as well as new upgraded insulation for the space. We highly recommend this company and Bob's expertise. The work will be completed sometime in the near future.

Found the problem and corrected it

Robin came to give our initial estimate and we were impressed by his diligence in helping us communicate with the gas company (who wasn't very accommodating). The staff were timely, professional, polite and efficient. Very pleased over all!

Until sometime in the past 12 months this company was Lindley Heating and Cooling and in the past six months or so we did receive notice that they had changed their name or been brought out by Indiana Home Comfort Solutions. We had done business for a few years previous to today with Lindley Heating and Cooling. Although the company has no record of it we did have an annual service agreement for heating and cooling a few years back. We didn't continue the agreement for reasons that had nothing to do with their performance. In March 2013 we had them clean our furnace and we gave them an A rating on Angie's list. At that time they provided a list of five items that needed attention before winter the next year. In October 2013 we had the services done and spent a considerable amount of money on those repairs and still we felt we got our money's worth and was pleased with the work. This morning we woke up to the furnace short cycling. By the time I was ready to leave for work it had stopped short cycling and was running normally again. We called Indiana Home Comfort Solutions to schedule someone to come out to look at the furnace. I felt it most likely needed cleaned. We were told they would come the next day. We agreed to that time but asked if there was cancellation that we be called. Just a short time later we were told there was a cancellation and person could come this morning. The service technician Michael arrived, looked at the furnace and turned it off and on a few times and turned the thermostat up and assured the heat was working. During this time I was at work and my adult daughter was at the house and she was texting me with what was happening. Michael was at the house for approximately 20 minutes, indicated the furnace needed to be cleaned, recommended a service contract for $150.00 and charged us $141.19. Michael indicated that he had to go to another call and if we wanted the work done we should schedule quickly as the schedule was filling up fast. Upon arriving home from work, we called Indiana Home Comfort Solutions and spoke with Greg. I asked exactly what was done to the furnace for the $ 141.19 charged today. The invoice left indicated we were without heat, which was not true and the furnace was very dirty and needed service. I was told that my daughter refused to have the furnace cleaned today indicating she had to get my authorization. This was not true, I had left her a signed check and told her it probably needed cleaned and if it needed anything different to ask me first before authorizing the work. As I was texting with her the entire time she also could have asked right then and I would have said do the work if asked but Michael indicated he was not able to complete the work because he had to go to another job. Greg's response is that if we had wanted the work done he would have told Michael to stay and complete the work but this was not an option that was offered to us at this time. I asked Greg if any of the fee today would apply to a service agreement if purchased and his reply was no, I asked if any of the fee today would be applied to a cleaning if done and he indicated no. I asked if I would have to pay a travel charge again for them to come back and do the work that was not completed today and I was told yes. Greg was more than willing to schedule us for a cleaning at full price. I told him that we had done business with Lindley for a few years now and had never had these issues previously and had their policies changed with the company being changed to Indiana Home Comfort Solution and I was told no, nothing had changed but this was not the same type of treatment we had previously experienced when the company had a different name. It is my opinion based on my experience before and after the company name changed that the customer service I received previously is no longer there. Greg asked if I wanted to schedule the cleaning and he still had the original appointment open for tomorrow that was given to us first thing this morning. I told him that I felt we were over charged for today's work and unless he made it right we would no longer be doing business with them. Greg's reply was that was my right as a customer and the prices were not negotiable. I thanked him for his time and ended the call. I feel like I paid money for someone to come to may house and tell me what I already knew needed to done without any resolution to the original problem

They are very honest and don’t tell us we need any unnecessary work done. They have always been able to fit us in at the spur of the moment when we have needed them. The technicians are very neat and careful not to track any dirt in with them. We have been using their services for at least fourteen years and they have been great!

Justin was on time and was very courteous. He did his job and then explained about the results.

We have used Steve Lindley?s company previously to install a full new geo-thermal system which we are very pleased with. Last week we had Lindley Heating and Cooling come out to do a Home Performance Assessment ($99). Robin and Brad did a detailed duct pressure testing, and they thoroughly inspected our attic and our crawl space. They also used an infrared camera to let us see through the walls to locate ?hot spots? where we were losing energy. Robin was very thorough about explaining all the details of the testing process, analyzing the data and educating us about various causes for our heat loss and possible solutions for those problems. He proposed 3 possible things we could do including duct sealing with Aeroseal, a crawl space encapsulation, and removal of our old attic insulation to allow for the sealing of can lights and vents and then replacement of insulation in the attic. After much discussion and a night to ?sleep on it?, we decided to first do the Duct sealing. The duct sealing is a very interesting and involved process! I had watched some video clips on their website and understood the process. They completely blocked off all the vents and air returns in the house, hand sealed any obvious leaking sites then pressurized the system and released the Aeroseal to move throughout the system sealing up any places that air was leaking in or out of the entire system. (Best analogy is that this process is like using ?seal a flat? for your tires!) Their computer analysis showed that before we started we had total air leakage equivalent to a 33 square inch hole and when we finished, we now have leakage equivalent to a 1 inch square hole! Brad and Jacob arrived this morning at 8:30 and did not leave until 4:30. They arrived on time, worked hard all day, were courteous & professional, and cleaned up completely. We are very pleased with the work and we will watch to see the differences we will experience in the house and with our electric bills! We have also decided to get our crawl space encapsulated next week because we have a ¾ basement that has a direct opening to our 400 square foot crawl space. The dampness and air contaminants from that area need to be blocked from entering the entire house. We will update you later with how that process goes!!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. Their professionalism was great.

Jeff called to say when he would be arriving. He made sure I knew where he was in my house and what he would be doing at all times. He was well trained in his presentation and very nice.

Justin from Lindley was on time and performed all the repairs we had requested. He was very thorough and explained all of the work he had done carefully.

Had to work hard to get services scheduled, first was moved due to temperature outside, second was moved because they needed to help some clients with heating issues, third was moved because of some rain, but nothing rescheduled at this time.
