Personal meeting with the owner went very well.

He cleaned the furnace and did the usual checks to insure everything is okay. We have used this company before and will use them again.

I have used them for years and they have always done a good job.

It took them 3 days to do the work with 2 plumbers. The final outcome looks great.

Furnace stopped working after thermostat was replaced by homeowner. Howald was called late in the morning and Howald was able to get a Technician to the home by 4:00 PM. Technician diagnosed very quickly that a furnace fuse was blown when the thermostat was replaced. The Technician said the power to the furnace should always turned off before working on or replacing a thermostat. the Technician promply replaced the blown fuse and the furnace was again operable. I was very impressed with my first experience with Howald, and as a result, I will only be calling them in the future if I have any heating, A/C or plumbing needs.

Great!! I work at Angie's List and specialize in HVAC. I have met the owner and he is a great guy and for this reason I chose this company. They met my expectations, the Tech did a great job was friendly and answered all of my questions. I will have them back every year!!

They really stand behind their work. I called them with a small problem and they came right out and fixed it. The motor on my furnace went out and they came out and replaced it for free even though it was outside of warranty. The plumber was also very responsive. and responsible.

Larry Howald, the owner of Howald Heating and Air Conditioning, came to our home and inspected our functioning but old equipment. He then came back about 2 days later with a folder containing his best suggestions for replacing our old equipment. He answered all our questions completely and honestly, and then left us to make our own decisions. When we agreed to have Howald do the work for us, they arrived on the day and at the time that we had arranged. They worked steadily and finished the job on time. They taught us how to use our new thermostats and other equipment, They were careful to keep the carpeted stairs and floors covered and protected. All of their workers were polite and helpful. We're pleased with our new furnace and air conditioner, and would recommend Howald to anyone!

My wife likes the fact that the technicians are very neat and always clean up after themselves before leaving. They have been great!

We called Howald for a second opinion and quote after a miserable experience with the current Broad Ripple Heating and Cooling/Services Experts. Service Experts had made an expensive repair on the air handler without checking the entire system and it stopped working a week later. Originally, we called Howald to get a quote to replace the heat pump and they offered to check the entire system to make sure it couldn't be fixed for a lesser charge (it couldn't). Howald's quote was approximately $1500 less than Services Experts for a comparable system. We had to wait a week to get the unit installed due to bad weather, but they communicated the schedule changes well and came on a Saturday to complete the work. We received quotes from 5 companies for this work and the Howald employees were the most helpful of them all. We have been recommending them to all our friends.

I noticed that our water heater was leaking late Sunday afternoon. We have used Howald in the past for our furnace needs and they responded quickly so decided to give them a call about our plumbing needs. Called them Sunday evening and left a message They called later to say that they would give us a call early Monday morning. They called around 7:30 am to tell us when they would arrive. They were very prompt and courteous and got the job done. We appreciate their responsiveness. Great company!!

We have known the family for many years. My wife taught their kids in school and they have always worked on our furnaces. We have bought our furnaces and air conditioners from them. They have always provided us with good service and we don't have any complaints. In relation to everybody else their prices are okay. Their responsiveness is very good.

I can't say enough about Harry Metzler and Howald Heating. He came to my house TWICE over Labor Day weekend, to diagnose the problem with our non-functioning water heater, and then to replace it entirely. ON A SUNDAY, ON A HOLIDAY WEEKEND. Sorry for the caps, but this company, and Harry in particular, really went above and beyond.

The repairman showed up less than a half hour after my call on Monday morning; this definitely exceeded my expectations, even from Howald Heating. We have a separate Mitsubishi heating/air conditioning unit in our upstairs bedroom. The inside unit started dripping water over the weekend, so we had to turn it off. It was a simple repair?the condensate drain had become blocked?that took less than an hour to fix. The service was excellent, and the cost was reasonable. I have used this company for many years, and have always been pleased with the results. The phone staff and repairmen are always polite and efficient.

Overall, I am very happy with the helpfulness of the staff, professionalism of the technician, prompt service and repair.

They did a great job. The technicians were professional and knowledgeable. Everything was done on time with no surprises. Both units work well and they came back to check to make sure everything was performing perfectly. I am completely satisfied and would not hesitate to use them again.

We spent about $7000. The heat pump does both heating and cooling. When they gave us a quote we got different options of systems to go with and they explained them to us. They responded promptly to my phone calls and they did a pretty good job when they actually came and installed the pump. There were a couple of minor issues.

They had to put in a new mother board and thermostat. It did take a while to diagnose the problem, they came on a Sunday to perform this service. They really perservered to find the problem. I have used them in the past to have a new A/C unit installed as well. And I would use them in the future and recommend them.

The servicemen installing the unit were very polite and professional and worked hard to get the AC unit in that day as it was hot and humid in our house. They came back the next day and installed the furnace. Upon completion of installation, they had me inspect their work and explained in detail what they had done. We have used Howald (back when it was Broad Ripple) for at least 25 years, they have installed 2 furnaces, 2 heat pumps and the current AC in our house and have provided seasonal service as well. We have never had a problem with them and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Overall, work was completed satisfactorily and on time.

Howald has been our provider of choice for H/AC twice yearly tune ups for some time. We moved two years ago to a then 18-year-old house with original H/AC. We knew that the units were older, but we with care they made it through two more years of service. They were both still operating, but had become noisy and were inefficient.. Our home warrantee service would not agree to replacement and the repair they supplied included a constant whistle that sounded to everyone like a tornado siren! After two weeks we decided to replace now rather than suffer the noise and wait for the hottest of coldest day of the year and am equipment failure.We were very happy with the efficient work two Howald technicians did throughout today to get the old equipment out, most of the new equipment in and the AC running for tonight. Tomorrow they will complete the final touches of the furnace and dehumidifier. It is cool and quiet in here!

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Howald. My relationship with this company started emergently during the winter when my furnace stopped working the day before I was supposed to fly out of town. Though I had never worked with them before, they prioritized restoring heat to my home and arrived within a couple of hours. They were courteous and thorough. They offered my a frank opinion about the longevity of my furnace (it was on the old side) and ensured that my house stayed warm throughout the winter. This summer I had them service my almost 20 year old AC and we decided that it was time to replace both units. The gentleman who came to discuss replacement options was patient and clear in his explanations of the different options. I feel very strongly that Howald aims to match their clients with the best units for them and their home! There is no up-selling or pressure for purchase. Their pricing is very fair. The gentlemen who installed the units were timely, courteous and thorough. Their workmanship was excellent and they left my home neat and tidy. They also went above and beyond! OUTSTANDING company and outstanding job!
