The tile on the shower is not aligned correctly. The grout on the floor is not even. The grout is not filled in correctly. The tile on the shower wall is not lined up properly, which has caused it to be uneven. He has threatened me with an email. He has faulty workmanship. He did not set an end date of service except for an end date of payment. He has threatened me with filing a lien, which can effect my financial and mortgage status. This has caused pain and suffering There was no signed contract and I asked him to provide license and bond information and he failed to provide me with the information. During the time of the workmanship he had inappropriate behavior towards me that made me feel uncomfortable. Household Needs Inc claims i breached the contract that i was never provided with. The contractor never gave me any form signed or dated, only thing provided was an invoice.
Description of Work: I hired him for a bathroom remodel.

This leak had stumped 3 plumbers by that time. He pulls up, looks at it for a minute, and knew exactly what was going on. Above all, he was a REALLY nice and personable guy! We were living in a rental property at the time, and for whatever reason, my rental company decided to hire (yet another) plumber to do the job, but Joshua followed up with us several times to make sure the issue was being taken care of properly. Because of that, he has earned our business for life. I just wish our rental company would have stuck with him, but you know, it's all about those extra cents.
Description of Work: We had Joshua Dream come in and look at our leak. It was apparently in a somewhat unusual place/fashion, as 3 other plumbers had already tried their luck and found nothing.

The initial meeting with Joshua was very pleasant and reassuring, and the estimate of $6500 was well received. A deposit of $3350 was requested and paid on May 26. Scheduling was somewhat open-ended in that he had nearly 6 weeks to complete the job (July 1 deadline). The bathroom tear-out was completed by the 2nd week, but I received a text stating that there was an unexpected need for asbestos removal - extra $950 - which I paid on June 8. No invoice was provided per my request. A week or so later I was asked to advance another $1000 of the remaining balance because a family member was in the hospital. This I declined, because little progress had been made on the overall job. I began expressing concern about when the job was going to be completed and was told that the delays were due to his other workers not showing up on time, or that they wanted to be paid in advance. I should not worry because the job would be completed on time. Next problem: we agreed to modify the bedroom flooring estimate. The floors would be sanded to remove the old carpet adhesive and then inspected to see if the original hardwood could be sealed and left uncovered. $600 was agreed upon and added to the estimate to cover this additional work. However, with less than one week to go, the foam padding had merely been scraped up and no sanding was even attempted. Due to the time constraint, I agreed to just apply linoleum to the bedroom floors as per the original plan. Multiple reminders were required to get the new lighting fixtures in the bedrooms and kitchen. The job was "completed" on June 30. On June 30, I was finally handed an e-mail receipt for the $950 asbestos "treatment." I then asked for a mailing address so that I could send the balance of the account after I could confirm what that "treatment" meant. He refused and demanded immediate payment because I shouldn't question the asbestos contractor he had been using for many years. So I paid the remaining balance of the $8050 final bill. After allowing the tenants to move in, I inspected the "completed" job and notified Joshua of some deficiencies: missing cover plate on bathroom electrical outlet; bathroom tile grout had not been sealed; new kitchen faucet had not been installed; construction trash had not been removed, etc. These problems were resolved. Meanwhile, on July 3, he was notified of a bathroom sink leak - "acknowledged and fixed." July 4, the leak was back - "Ugh...I'll look at it when I get back." July 12, tenants report that the bathroom leak is back and that the sink doesn't drain properly. At this point, I texted Joshua - "Come on, man, fix it right or call in another plumber." I will just quote the "highlight" of his 4 page text response: "what do you mean fix it right I know what the h*** I'm doing how about this you stop bugging me you call somebody else and let them fix it because my job is totally done and complete anyway you don't f***ing talk to me like that I'm not a d*** kid" After I apologized for "offending" him and suggested that there might be a crack or other defect in the new faucet, he sent a different person to look into the problem. The tenants reported back that the new guy immediately found a problem with a broken pipe which was the cause of the leak and which also interfered with the sink stopper working correctly. What more can I say. The final job turned out to be somewhat less than OK, and the overall anxiety caused by the many delays could have been avoided. However, the rudeness and total lack of professionalism in honoring the warranty cannot be ignored. What one says is one thing. What one texts or otherwise puts in writing is quite another.

We are very pleased with the final bathrooms. Joshua would text pictures to me of the status or open questions since I was at work. It helped to keep the project moving smoothly. The team cleaned up every time so that it made it easier to live through the project work. The bathrooms look wonderful and we look forward to working with him on the next project.

to be there 1 day and said would be $8500.00 to replace all the sewer line or $7500.00 to just fix collaspe. Gave a $1000.00 credit from $2000.00 paid originally for $4000.00 job. Said we didnt have that kind of money we would have to figure something out and be back in touch. Found out our house is sharing a sewer line with house next door (yes house is old and on a half lot). That house has been vacant for 10 years we started looking for owner when a man showed up said he was property manager for owner, have not heard from him yet but called Household that nite 3-2013 to explain I needed money back, found owner next door and gonna try to get sewer fixed with cooperation of that owner. Spoke with Joshua who is the only employee we dealt with ever, and said return our $1000.00(household charged us $1000.00 of our original downpaymnet for bringing bulldozer out to house for one day. Waited 2 weeks finally after several conversations with joshua received a $400.00 check. Had conversatiopn with Joshua concerning Husband going into Hospital 4-5-13 for heart procedure really needed our money. He gave us the run around. Then on $-8 coming home from Heart hospital with husband went by bank to cash $400.00 check bank said contact check owner for reason check not good. Called Joshua from bank. Finally called back said check now good had to drive back to bank to cash. Called Joshua concerning other $600.00 of our money he said contact partner? What partner Joshua is the only employee I dealt with and the one I gave my check to. Thank You for any help with getting our $600.00 back from Household Needs and Joshua Dream
Description of Work: Received estimate for collasped sewer drain (residential) $4000.00. Paid $2000.00 for job to start. On monday received call equipment broke down running behind. A week later a crew brought bulldozer and put camera down and said break was not where a other plumbing Company said it was. The collaspe was further out in street 18 feet down. Charged 1000.00 for bulldozer and crew

Response from Household Needs Inc
this is my response customer did give me 2000 as their deposit to start digging up their yard...as I told them it would take a week to get to their yard...and that mean time we did have weather and machine malfunction so as we did get over there to start digging up the yard we had to re camera and remarked the yard because the rain had washed away all of the markings what was perfectly normal as I ran my machine again to the water to run off of the property we put our camera and locator in the line the line was damaged in the in the center of the street which meant we had to get a ride away passpermit and on their contract that they signed it stated if we had to cut up the street it would be additional charge.....so that mini excavator the camera locate guy and me were out there for five hours trying to come up with another options and surveying the yard.....I explain to them what was going on and what was wrong and what the additional charge was going to be the house next door was hooked up to a common lateral that's where two houses share the same sewer line which is against code now.....the house next door has been empty for 10 years or more and they ttold me the house was up for demolition after I told them what the additional cost would be...they told me to hold on to whatever is left where on their deposit....and I told them says we'll be doing the job I will cut you a break and you will have a $1000 credit which means when you're ready for us to do the dig you have a credit of $1000 not a refund of $1000....upon that they said okay I tried to explain to them that I use DH excavation their deposit was $1000...rocky camera and inspection was $450....my time out there running my sewer machine for four hours was $250.....as you can add that up that 2000 was actually spent like I told them I do not have a thousand laying around I have other employees to pay that's why they have a thousand dollar credit so when the people next door want the line dug up we have a thousand dollars to add to their be ok to have the yard correct it properly as I stated to them I was trying to be nice and know that y'all were on a budget and try to work with you...you wrote me a check for $2000 on 1-31-13....you call me 4 times stating that you are trying to get your money together to do the excavation on your yard....and on 3-21-13 then you call me and say you would like your money backthat's two months after you have wrote your deposit waiting on you to get the money you stated but as I stated you had $1000 credit.....sso if I had charge all of the charges that I've paid out you will not have anything as a credit but I was thinking since I had the job I would be nice and try to cut you a break.....there is actually no money to be given back I have paperwork and receipts of everyone that was paid its well over 2000....if the person next door is going to try to put the house back together that has been sitting empty for 10 years y'all two should come to a resolution to wear since you have a thousand dollar credit they should have us do the work if not they're just going to separate you and not do yours and have bears fixedthat's what a deposit is 4 to take care all the essentials to get on the jobas you see on my ratings I think I have 10 Angie's List members and about for the non members that all give me a good grade because they all know I am fair and honest.....and I gave you the 400 back because you just would not stop texting me or calling me 400 is a fair deal I think it was not my problem or fault because Larry told me your van had broke down or he's going in the hospital that has nothing to do with me

This problem occured in a rental house of ours on a weekend. We had another Angie's list provider out and he estimated $750.00 for the first hour and $70.00 an hour past that. We called Household Needs on a Sunday, he went right out, fixed the drain and only charged us only !40.00! His quality of work was excellent, and we will certainly use him again
