Terrible inspector. Avoid at all costs!

***Heads up Friends, if you are needing your home, inspected, PLEASE read my post first*** I don’t want you going through the same issue… HOME INSPECTION MATTERS LLC On April 12, I had an inspector come out to inspect a mobile home that I was recently wanting to purchase. Some may say why get an inspector for a mobile home, well a mobile home is still considered a home regardless if it is on a foundation or not. I’m a single parent of 2 kids so I wanted to make sure that I wasn’t throwing my money away. When the inspector came out, he was really friendly and bubbly, telling me about his trip to Florida, that he was going on later that same evening. I know someone who is in real estate who has worked with this same Inspector for years now. So I trusted that he would find anything major wrong before I make a big purchase. WOW WAS I WRONG!!! Make a long story short on April 24th I was washing dishes and my sinks were backing up along with my dishwasher. The following day I went to the office, to let them know what was going on. She had a plumber come out to my home to see what the problem was. Now on my inspection there was a small leak that was fixed before moving in. Actually, they FIXED everything that was on the inspectors report. The plumber that came out was nice enough to talk to the inspector over the phone to better explain the situation because again I have no clue on what I’m looking at. The inspector said during his inspection the sewer lines were fine. Now, looking at the pictures that I’m about to attach along with my long post, The plumber explained to me and the inspector that the lines have been like this for quite some time and that he must have just missed it. Now I’m having to pay a lot more than what the inspector charged me to inspect my home.  This would not have happened within the 12 days of my 2 kids and myself being here. I feel that David Matters, was in a hurry to get done for the day, just so that he could have a relaxing trip but that relaxing trip, is costing my kids and I. The plumber said I am very lucky that I am not having sewer waste throughout my house and that I noticed it quick enough before it started happening. David told me to send him the pictures and that he was going to call me when he got home yesterday evening. I still have not heard from him. I sent him a text again this morning at 7:00 with the same pictures that I took. I just don’t want to see anyone else go through the same troubles that I am now going through 😕

Very polite and thorough. We called him and he met us at our new home the next day. He took photos and sent the write up the next day! I’d recommend him to anyone and his rates are fantastic !

David was nothing short of excellent. He was very thorough, walked me through all issues and explained them in great detail in his report. He also came back out at our final walk through at no charge to make sure that items on our inspection list were all completed correctly by the seller and let us know of any potential issues to keep our eyes on in the future.
