The doors are better than the doors I bought from a widely known company, and they were about $200.00 a door cheaper! The installers that came were two brothers. The product that I bought from Home Depot is incredible. We are getting ready to buy storm doors from Home Depot. The workers were wonderful! They did a better job than the big nationally known company. The door was cheaper, looks like a better door, and it closes easier. The price included installation, delivery all the way, clean up, and all of the supplies. These guys were really good!
Description of Work: I bought my Sutter River doors at Home Depot. They had an outside contracting service that came out and installed them.

We called the day before our deck project to make sure that we could reserve the nail gun. The person on the phone said that they didn't take reservations, but they were sure it would be there if we came in the morning. My husband showed up first thing the next morning (while everyone we had helping us waited at home) to rent the gun. It was on the shelf like the employee had promised. When he tried to rent it, the employee said that they couldn't rent it right now due to their credit card machine being down. He offered to pay in cash, but the employee said we would have to put down a deposit that would cover the entire purchase of the nail gun. My husband said fine, he could do that. Then the employee changed his mind and said he couldn't rent it at all until the credit card machine was back up. The employee was rude and didn't offer any help in finding another rental company in the area. If they would have just taken a reservation the day before with our credit card, we wouldn't have had to waste over an hour messing with a down credit card machine. They need to put in a policy for when the credit card machine goes down, so they can still rent to people. We lost over 2 hours of work time, not to mention gas driving all over town to find another rental store.
Description of Work: We tried to rent a nail gun from the tool rental department.

Purchased a new 50-gallon gas water heater with installation from Home Depot. They were able to install it that day. I appreciated the quick service, however, the installer left a little bit of a mess for me to clean-up.

He told us that the vendor was no longer carrying for Home Depot. Nobody from the store called to let us know that there was a change. He said he was getting ready to call us so we went ahead and changed our order with the new vendor. They sent that in. Three of the doors were custom doors. They called to say that there was going to be a delay after 3 weeks already. About 2 weeks later they called to say that there was going to be another delay. Finally I talked to an assistant manager who was supposed to check on things but they never called back. Yesterday my husband went in to try to get our money back. He asked to speak with the manager but he was told that the manager wasn't in. He ended up getting a hold of the manager who had no explanation or didn't even attempt to see what the problem was. We did get him to agree with documentation that we would get our money back.
Description of Work: We ordered interior doors and one exterior from them on 6/25. The individual who was helping us was going on vacation, so when he came back we went over to check things out because we noticed that our check hadn't gone through.

It was a comedy of errors from start to finish. Despite the fact that I'd cancelled my order, Home Depot failed to tell the contractor. I received a voice message from the contractor about 2 weeks after I'd cancelled the order, telling me that they would be coming out the following Monday to install my countertop. They left no call back number, so I called Home Depot. I was told the sales person who I'd placed the order with was not in, but that they would give her the message. Apparently, nothing was done, because the following Monday, the contractor showed up to install my countertops. I explained the situation to them and they were very nice, but I felt terrible. The contractor called me to try to sell my the countertop directly, but I'd already contracted with Lowe's, who, by the way, has done an excellent and very professional job so far. I will report on Lowe's when the work is completed. All I can say is that I'm not shopping at Home Depot and I would not recommend them.
Description of Work: I contracted for new kitchen countertops. The contractor came out to measure, he told me that the sinks were only available in 5 colors, not the color I had chosen. I had to try to choose a new sink color from his samples, without having a sample of the countertop color, because he did not have that sample with him. Although I was told that the tear out of my old countertop and sink would be included in the price, I later found out it was not. When I went to Home Depot to speak with the sales person, she looked up the order and told me the price would be $200 more than she had quoted me because I had chosen a special edge. I told her that I did not know it was additional, or I would not have chosen it. She then told me that the contractor had noted that the sink was stainless steel, which, again, was not what I had ordered. Because of all the problems, I decided to cancel the order. I was told there would be $100 charge for the contractor to come out and measure.

I usually like shopping at Home Depots, but this store has some employee problems. At checkout, the cashier realized she needed to change out large bills for smaller ones to make change for me. All she had was $100s. She called the 'head cashier' (Keisha), who finally came and seemed to have an issue with my cashier. They didn't seem to care that I (the customer) had to wait 8-10 minutes while she put my cashier through several lengthy steps to request the change, then finally came back and made change for her from the next register. When I asked where she had disappeared to while keeping me waiting, she actually started arguing with me! I know for certain I will never return to this Home Depot and not sure I want to go to any others either.
Description of Work: I've made several purchases over the years, but this is the first time at this Home Depot.

Saw storm door in Sunday ad. Went to the store, door was not in stock. More doors would come in on Monday. I went ahead and placed my order for the installation so they could come measure (definitely do this; our door needed a little extra materials and someone else I know had the same thing happen.) Since I could not purchase the door, I asked whether I would have a problem getting the sale price for the door and was told no problem since I placed the install order during the sale. Wanted to pick up the door myself since I was told otherwise, I would pay $35 for the installer to pick it up (even though they were the installer.) Did have a problem with getting the sales price for the door. Had to call store after getting home and they credited me. During install, workers stripped the hardware so they had to go to the store to get new hardware. Very glad we didn't try to do the install ourselves. Took longer time-wise than expected; installers did not clean up after themselves.

The flooring expert at Home Depot was excellent but the installers were not. They did the least amount of work they could get by with and the overall work was just okay. I was expecting better or we would have done it ourselves.

This was a fiasco from the beginning. They sold us a defective door and finally, we had the manufacturer come out and replace it. The replacement company did a crappy job and left a mess after completion. Overall, it took over 2 months to get a simple door replaced. Only the manager was able to rectify the situation in the end. To his credit, he did a good job finally fixing the issue.

The store person was nice, and things went downhill from there. They misscheduled the measurement appointment, and only got it done after several calls to the store. When I ordered the shades, I was told they would be installed on a certain date. What the person MEANT to say was that the shades would be delivered to the store after that date. It took four phone calls to find out they weren't going to be installed on the day promised - including 20 minutes on hold and two calls never returned. I am still waiting to have them installed, maybe tomorrow. But because they are custom, I cannot return them. An entire day wasted, maybe more.

PROVIDED DELIVERY AT NO COST AND EXCELLENT SERVICE IN SELECTING AND PURCHASING DRYER AND DISHWASHER. INDIVIDUAL SPENT A GREAT DEAL OF TIME WITH US LATE ON A SUNDAY EVENING. DELIVERY WAS A LITTLE DELAYED AS THE DELIVERY FOLKS CALLED THE WRONG NUMBER TO GIVE US A 30 MINUTE NOTICE, THEIR SECOND ATTEMPT WAS MUCH MORE SUCCESSFUL (DELIVERY IS DONE BY OUTSIDE CONTRACTER TO HOME DEPOT). AFTER INSTALLING THE FIRST TWO ROOMS OF CARPET, THE STORE LOST OUR FILE INCLUDING OUR MEASUREMENTS WHICH RESULTED IN A DELAY SINCE NEW MEASUREMENTS HAD TO BE TAKEN AND CALCULATED. AFTER TWO WEEKS, WE CALLED THE STORE TO FOLLOW-UP ON THE MEASUREMENTS AND WAS ADVISED ''WE HAVE HAD YOUR MEASUREMENTS FOR A WEEK.'' THIS DID NOT SURPRISE US AS THEY HAVE ''NEVER'' MADE A PROACTIVE CALL TO US TO FOLLOW UP ON THE NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. THE FINAL ROOM OF CARPET TOOK SIX WEEKS FROM ORDER TO INSTALL TO COMPLETION. WE WERE ADVISED THAT THE CARPET WE SELECTED WAS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN THE SIZE NEEDED AND THAT WE WOULD NEED TO PICK OUT A NEW CARPET. AFTER PICKING OUT A NEW CARPET, WE RECEIVED A CALL A WEEK LATER TO LET US KNOW THAT THE ''ORIGINAL'' CARPET WAS IN. AFTER THE CARPET WAS HALF INSTALLED WE WERE TOLD THAT THE STORE HAD ORDERED THE WRONG SIZE. WE ENDED UP WITH THREE ADDITIONAL SEAMS. CORPORATE IN ALL ITS GLORY OFFERED AN $80 GIFT CARD DUE TO OUR PROBLEMS...WHICH WE REFUSED.

WORKERS WERE NEVER ON TIME, THEY CALLED AND GAVE US A 2HR. WINDOW OF TIME FOR ARRIVAL AND THEY ALWAYS SHOWED UP AN HOUR LATER THAN THE 2 HOUR WINDOW. OUR FIRST CHOICE OF FLOORING WAS BACK-ORDERED SO WE WENT WITH AN ALTERNATE FOR 1 ROOM THAT WE WERE TOLD WAS IN STOCK. OUR 1ST CHOICE CAME IN BEFORE THE ALTERNATE! THE STORE GAVE US A CHOICE OF COLOR FOR THE TRANSITIONS AND THE WRONG COLOR WAS INSTALLED IN BOTH AREAS. (THIS WAS LATER CORRECTED.) THE FLOORING WAS CUT INCORRECTLY FOR ONE AREA AND COULD NOT BE INSTALLED ON THE FIRST TRIP SO WE HAD TO LEAVE OUR WASHER AND DRYER IN THE GARAGE FOR 4 DAYS UNTIL THE JOB WAS FINISHED. THIS ALSO MEANT WE TRACKED THE GRAY FLOOR PREP STUFF ALL OVER OUR NEW CARPET. NO SCRAPS WERE LEFT WITH US. COMMUNICATION WAS VERY DIFFICULT BECAUSE ENGLISH WAS NOT THE INSTALLERS PRIMARY LANGUAGE.

EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT, EXCEPT FOR THE SEAMS. THE INSTALLER USED THE WRONG SEAM SEALER: HE USED LOW GLOSS AND SHOULD HAVE USED HIGH GLOSS. I BROUGHT IT TO THE HOME DEPOT'S ATTENTION, AND I HAD TO DEAL WITH THEM FOR MONTHS TO GET ANY RESOLUTION. THE INSTALLER CAME OUT AND INSPECTED IT. HE CAME OUT ABOUT A MONTH LATER, AND HAD BASICALLY NO RESOLUTION. HE TRIED BUFFING IT, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE HE COULD DO. I THOUGHT THAT I WAS DUE SOME COMPENSATION, BUT AFTER MONTHS OF DEALING WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE, I DID GET SOME SATISFACTION. IT TOOK ABOUT 5 MONTHS OF WORKING WITH THE STORE TO GET IT COMPLETED. CARPET JOB WAS PROMPT, AND DONE WITH NO PROBLEMS.

I FELT THEY JUST WANTED TO GET AWAY FROM HAVING A PERSON HELP ME AT ALL.
