Here To There Movers

Moving Companies, Hauling, Piano Movers,

About us

It has been said that the three most stressful things in life are dealing with a divorce, a death, or a move. We believe it is our job to take each customers situation and tailor our service based on what they need at that time. We have grown because of our willingness to please the customer is not limited to our office hours, or the amount of money the customer has to spend. It is not at all uncommon for us to hold a check for a customer, or start a move at a time that is convenient for the customer, but at a time that will have us working untill midnight; at no extra cost to the customer. Now that we have dozens of employees and do hundreds of moves a year, most of which are routine, it has become my job to handle the details that truly make us a service company. Moved our belongings from one house to another in the next town. Took two trips to move it and did not break anything. Even brought back a railing that had been left on the truck by accident the next week. Both homes were two stories and difficult stairs to carry items. no items were broken.

The movers arrived on time and collected all the items from my house without any problems. It was a good start. At my fiancé's apartment though it was a different story. They damaged the main entry doorway trying to remove the couch and broke one of the feet off as a result. They also broke a foot on the dresser. Then, at the new apartment, they could not even get the couch up the staircase. I will admit that it is quite narrow and difficult to navigate with a large item, but it can be done. They attempted the couch move once and then said they wouldn't try again unless I agreed to not hold them accountable for any damage. I refused so they left the couch on the sidewalk. My friends and I ended up moving it, successfully, after the movers left. The final issue was the payment. They tried to charge me for an extra 45 minutes. Instead of the bill being $400, which was the correct amount, they charged my card $460 without telling me. Then after seeing the mistake, they informed me I'd have to call the office on Monday and ask for the refund. Long story short, it took me almost three weeks to get my refund and only after multiple calls to the main office were ignored. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I would not use Here to There Movers ever again.
Description of Work: Here to There Movers were hired to move large furniture items from my house and my fiancé's apartment into a new apartment in Greenwood area. This included a couch, two beds, two dressers, a chest of drawers, a TV stand, two night stands, a dining table with chairs and then whatever boxes we could fit on the truck in a timely fashion. I should mention that both apartments were 3rd floor units, which is why I decided to hire movers to begin with.

Response from Here To There Movers
This move was almost a year ago, so it would be very hard for me to be as accurate on the details of this move. However form what this customer has written I would like to respond with saying we take every procausion nesasary to protect furnite and goods from being damaged but sometimes acccedents happen. We are not machine and can not be perfect although we do strive for perfection it just is not possible all the time. As this customer said it was a 3rd floor to 3rd move with tight spaces. We attempted to move the item but when in our profestional opinion it could not be done without causing possible damages we backed off and gave the customer the chance to make that descion. The customer refused to sign waiving damages so we declined to move the couch any further. It is a fact that most places we move people in to were not designed with movers in mind... I would like to think we did an outstanding job with what er were given and gave the customer the option of how to handle there couch because we did not want to damage it!!! It could have vary well been squeezed through without damage but it was a tight spot and we will not take those chances without the customers aproval with there goods. As far as payment, since this has been so long I know nothing of the details and can not verify but mistakes do happen and we want to make them right! However the customer always sees the bill total of hours and total price and signs on the contract before giving us the credit card to charge! It is possible the wrong amount was charged and both the customer and my driver missed it... If that was the case because it was already ran and sent to the credit card companys. The driver can not fix the mistake. We then have to have a member of the office staff correct it the next day and depening on the type of transaction and the nature of what happends will depend on how long it takes to fix the mistake. Usualyy this should be done within a few days at most. I also tried to lookup the move and a damage claim on this but did not find any information under this customers name to go by. This usualy means he was not the actual customer on the paperwork...If a damage claim was filed we would have gotten in touch with the customer within 48 hours and scheduled an apointment for us to come out make any repairs needed. I realy apologize for any misshandling but I truly feel like there was nothing we can do to satisfy this customer....

All in all it wasn't bad - they 3 guys that were there I would give an A. The company policies I would rate about a C. If your policy means they will not take lamps, ect, then that should be made clear up front.
Description of Work: The guys were great. And were very punctual. There was a problem with the ramp at the new house falling 2 times while unloading, the first time it did cause the fridge to drop about 3 feet straight to the ground. Since it is a fridge in the garage for extra storage I have not yet had a chance to plug it in to make sure there is no damage, but I will within a day or 2. The one thing that really surprised me was they did not take the small electronics (they disconnected the VCR/DVD players & antennaes from both TV's but left them sitting on the floor). They also did not take any of my lamps - said they could go in my car. I have moved approximately 20 times in my life and never saw anyone wrap the pads around things and tape them before removing them from the house. I have only used professional movers one other time and they used pads but just threw them over the things as they put each in the truck (and nothing was broke that time either). Since they charged by the hour I did wonder if that was a way to pad the time, since it did take much longer to actually wrap everything before moving it from the house, then after bringing it into the new house taking the time to unwrap everything. Seems like putting the pads on once they got it in the truck might have been enough. All in all I was pleased with the 3 guys that came - they were great, but it seems like some of the company policies they work under are a little unusual. Not taking the lamps really suprised me. I would suggest to anyone choosing a moving company to find out ahead of time EXACTLY what they will and will not take. The movers I used before took everything, apparently this company will only take things that are in boxes or furniture.

I am glad that the move overall went well for you. I apologize about the confussion of the small misc items but as our contracts states everything needs to be in a box unless it something ovious that just dont fit like brooms big pictures, ect... This is where most claims happen. It is very easy for damage to occur to items when they are not packed properly or in this case at all. We are a full service moving companie and can come out and do all your packing when needed but we do need to know a head of time so we can be repaired. This policy is simply for everyone protection. We want your move to go as good as possible with no damages.

It was a great experience. I overslept, so I was pretty groggy when they arrived to get started. They were very professional and understanding and patient while I tried to get myself together. They were very careful and respectful of our things. Nothing was damaged or lost during the move and it was finished quickly and efficiently.
Description of Work: Moved large furniture from our old house to our new house (approx. 10 minutes away). We packed smaller items ourselves, but they moved all the beds, television, large chests and dressers, and a chest freezer.

The movers arrived on time, actually early, and were friendly and easy to work with. They worked slow and steady and did not take breaks. They estimated 4 hours and it took 4.5 hours from beginning to end. They wrapped all furniture pieces and boxes of dishes, that were not packed tight, they wrapped in the truck. Everything arrived at the auction house in good shape.

He was friendly and really compassionate about my dog and had an exceptional empathy with my feelings and anxieties about shipping my dog. His professionalism and love of pets radiates clearly in his ability and handling of my large dog. He picked him up promptly and was careful to let me know his progress as he transported my dog cross country. He had a layover and called to let me know how my dog was and told me of his progress. I would definately HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company to anyone else sending a pet anywhere.
Description of Work: Transported my dog to Salt Lake City. He went far beyond what I needed, so he did things to secure my dog and provide for his needs after arrival.

ignored/did not return my three calls to get approval have the dryer repaired. I had to get the dryer repaired because I did wash not knowing the dryer was broke until I used it. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO CALL SOMEONE TO REPAIR THE DRYER BEING THAT I HAD A WET LOAD OF LAUNDRY AND HERE TO THERE MOVERS DID NOT RETURN MY THREE CALLS TO GET APPROVAL TO FIX THE DRYER! I have sent two emails to a company representative to try to get this matter resolved but true to their lousy customer service, he has not replied to my emails. Here To There Movers was not careful with any of our items (they broke additional items that are not worth our time to pursue) and did not want to move items into the basement or upstairs. They constantly begged for tips and in general were very unprofessional. Their basic MO when addressing mover caused damage is: 1) Do not return phone calls when you call to request an item repair 2) Finally have some one contact you by email to say that because you repaired an item without their approval, they doubt they can cover it 3) When you reply to the email saying that Here To There Movers did not respond to your three phone calls about broken item and you had no choice but to get the item fixed yourself, they ignore you. They won't return emails or phone calls in hopes that you will go away. We have moved 8 times, including a few times across the country. Here To There Movers is by far the worst movers we have ever dealt with and they only moved us 20 minutes up the road! If you value your possessions, DO NOT USE Here To There Movers!

Response from Here To There Movers
We are human and at times do make mistakes and will do whatever nessasary to make it right with the customer and learn from that mistake to make the next customers exsperiance better BUT THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM!!! This report is totaly bogus. The Customer was out to get something for free and now that she did not get that she is slandering our name. I emedietly contacted her when I seen this report to see what was going on and to see what I could do to correct the problem but after speaking to her, and all employees involved and reveiwing all emails, damage claim and listing to our recorded calls from the Customer it is my opinion that we did nothing wrong! We in fact gave her great customer service on the move and when we came out to repair the floor that was scratched during the move. This customer gave my crew a 5 RATING, the best they could have received on the move and in fact told the owner Joshua who personaly game out to do the repair to her floor that she was so thrilled with his repair that she wanted him to look at other furniture that had nicks from general ware and tare and Joshua refered the furniture repair company that taught him how to make such repairs!! Its funnt the Customer left all this of her complaint!! We did cause damage to her wood floor and did repait that to her satisfaction emedetly but she never reported the damage to the dryer or made any attempt to have let us know a damage exsisted other than floor until after the fact! When Joshua was there he was only there to fix the floor at that time on October 9th there had never been any report of damage to anything else! As Joshua was leaving her home she then mentioned that she had someone come out make a repair on the dryer the day before (October 8th) Joshua told her she could make anothjer claim for that but the claims would probly get denied because she never reported the damage to us on any claim form, or even spoke to anyone about the damage and then called another company to make repairs without our authorisation to do so to get reinbursment from our company.. When I spoke to the Customer after reading this report she told me she tried to call bt could not get a hold of Cindy! I explained that she spoke to Cindy the day before when she schjeduled her repair for the floor and never at that point during the call did she men tion anything abouty any other damages. The Customer and Cindy were both very pleasant on the phone on the morning of October 8th when she scheduled the repair for the next dat October 9th!!!!! The Customer filled another damage claim on the evening of October 9th after the repairman (Joshua) had already been to her home and fixed the floor, that is 8 days exacly after the original claim was filed on October 1st after her move for the damage of the floor and again no other damage at that time was reported from her!!! In reveiw here are the otder of events that happened for the Customer... October 1st - Move was completed and customer paid bill and rated the crew a (5 best)!!! October 1st - Evening after the move the customer filled a damage claim for a sctrach on her hardwood floor - (takes up to 48 hours for a customer service rep to call back and schedule repair appointment) October 3rd - The Customer called in on the early morning asking when we could make repair to her floor, she is told the manager John Fries and Customer Service rep Cindy that would handle that were not avaible but they would call her back and schedule. October 3rd - Cindy did call her back and left a voicemail October 8th The Customer returned Cindys call and actualy spoke with Cindy and scheduled a repair appointment for the floor for the next day. The spoke in detail and the Customer confirmed the floor damage and never mentioned andthing else.... October 9th - Joshua did repair on the floor, customer was very happy and then mentioned as Joshua was leaving that she paid someone else yesturday to fix her dryer, Joshua said you can file a claim but it will probly get denied because it was never claimed as a damage and we did not get the chance to repait it or even see the damage before she had it fixed but if she turned in the claim someone would reveiw it (good customer service!) October 9th - Customer files a claim for the dryer and wants reinbursts $90.00 that she said she paid the repairman... On October 9th Jogn emails the customer back and denies the claim because per our signed contract with the customer she chose the minimual insurance option for .60cents per lb of the damaged item instead of purchasing our full replacment insurance that pays the full replacment value if an items is damages, Further more per our contract terms and contions we reserve the right to make any repairs needed as a first couse action prior to reinbursment! (Plain and simple we could of purchased this part for about $6.00 at the appliance repair store and replaced it whule we was there, it would of only taken about 15 minutes and cost us a total of about $15.00...) This customer out right lied and tried to take advantage of us!!! I have already asked the customer to retract these slanderus statments and I would also ask Angies List to remove this from our reports as I have given enough supporting evedence to show we were never in the wrong in facy gave great customer service and stood by our work and fixed the damage that did occur!! If the Customer accounts were true and accurate then why did she leave out the part that we did damage her floor o yea then we fixed it and she was very happy!!!! I am at a total loss of words for this customer!!!! We want to make every customers exsperiance with our company the very best but sometimes you just cant please everone even when you go above and beyond!!!! I have attached the damaged claimacctuly filed by the customer and the recorded phone calls if any one would like to reveiw them!! I can not copy the image on here where the customer rates us a 5 because it will not allow me to copy the image but I will gladly show any one that wants to see!!! Also a receipt was never provited by the customer, sounds like there never realy was a damage..... ??? Wonderful!!! They sent four guys to do the move with a special truck and dolley just for hot tubs. They arrived on time, knew what they were doing, and had the whole job completed in 1.5 hours. We were extremely pleased. They told me it was a minimum of $250, $115/hour for 4 guys, and $80 for the special truck. We were very impressed they were able to move a hot tub that quickly, for that distance, for the minimum charge.

The actual moving employees worked very hard. They did make a few mistakes which led to damaged furniture and areas in our home. They did not take precautions to protect the property until the brand new leather chair got damaged. They destroyed a brand new book case which the owner later told me was junk. They also did not pack the truck as efficient as it could have been, and this was a direct quote from one of the employees, leading to extra trips and time on the move. My real issue is with the unprofessional owner Josh and his unprofessional quality assurance manager mike. The office scheduling staff were also unorganized and not helpful. Upon damaging our property I was condescended by Mike. He argued with me as to why I didn't call him during the move if things were not going well. He was so rude that I specifically requested he not be sent to my home to assess the damages. They sent the owner. The first scheduled time I called an hour after he was supposed to show up to be told he would not make it. We rescheduled. He was 45 minutes late the second time. When I attempted to give feedback on mike he only offered excuses that since mike has to deal with angry customers all day that sometimes he can't control his temper. One might need to ask why they deal with angry customers all day? Even after requesting mike to not be sent to my home they did anyway. They took our damaged items on a Saturday, and promised to return them the following Friday. This did not happen, and the owner no longer would take my calls. They scheduled to return my items on Saturday am and I got a call 30 minutes before they were supposed to show up saying they had booked me for Saturday and Monday and weren't sure when they were supposed to come. They did finally show up on Saturday. They half way finished the repairs, the owner pretty much threw the check at me, he did not keep his word that he looked me in the eye and shook my hand regarding the repair plan, and basically called me names on my own property telling me that all the issues were my fault. I would not hire this company to move a house full of pillows. I later found major damage on a brand new loves eat and our washing machine that the workers could not have overlooked. I knew that it wouldn't be worth my air to try to get any damages on those items. They are shady, and terrible business people. Instead of making a very botched job right, and accepting feedback they chose to scream at, berate, and blame their customer for their gross incompetence. Buyer beware. I am happy for you to share my address with the company, as I am keeping my word to josh the owner that I would be providing a review of this dreadful experience!

I apologize for any missunderstanding. We strive to give good customer service and handle each concern with care. We want to please every customer but some time is is just not possible. I fully beleive our crew did a good job, as even the customer said. She also gave our crew the hightest rating on the move paperwork that she signed when paying the bill. As soon as the crew left she called in about a couple of small damages. The customer spoke to one of our receptionist who instructed her that she needed to file a claim and then asked to speak to a manager. I was the manager that spoke to her on the phone and again ave her the instruction of how to file a claim and what would be done. The customer was not happy because she chose the minimal insurance on our contract and did not want to pay for the additional full coverage insurance then wanted us to give her full replacment cost after the move was done... I told her we would be glad to come out asses the damages and start making repairs. And as our contract states if a repair can not be made we reinbusrst the customer at .60 per lb. However we always try to go above and beyond as we did for this customer. During the original phone call when she complained about the truck not being packed tight enough I told her we would give her a refund for the extra time (half hour that she beleived it took because of that and we did in fact send the refund check to her for that. We also did get out there and fix the damage to the bookcase which was presswood and had out contractor fix the small scratches on the stair case, he sanded and repainted and made it look brand new. She would not let us take the leather chair to the leather repair man so we gave her a check for the damages on that based on our contract. Yes in fact there was a few hicups in the scheduling of the repair appointments but I do feel we gave good customer service and fix all issues in a timely manner. I am realy not sure what we could have done difrently to appease this customer....

They were going to move my wife and I from Dublin to Powell. They quoted us that it would take approximately 6 hrs to complete. They arrived 20 minutes late. They did call to say they were going to be late though. They said they had to get gas in the truck. This should have been my first clue that there was a problem. Once they arrived they took a look around the house and started working. About 45 minutes later they told me they were taking a 10 min break. They took these breaks once an hour and to be honest didn't do much in between. At one point they asked me for tape because they ran out. They didn't even bring enough moving blankets to wrap all of our furniture. After being at our house for 5 hours they informed me that all of our belongings were not going to fit in one truck load (they assured me that morning that it wouldn't be any problem to fit it on the truck when they arrived). They dented walls, broke furniture and dented our walkout garage door loading things into the truck. I had to call some friends to move everything that they weren't able to fit in their truck. On their way to our new home they drove out of their way to a gas station to use the restroom and take a break. Upon arriving at our new house they backed into my mailbox with the truck and couldn't even back it into the driveway. Once we had the truck situated on the street we FINALLY started to unload things. I'd say that I personally unloaded more items than the three movers combined. One of them spent most of his time folding the moving blankets while we unloaded the truck. Once the truck was unloaded they were on their way. I was happy to see them go to say the least!

We apologize for any inconvenience however other than being a few minutes late because of traffic and a few small dings that we would be glad to come out and repair I don't see where we fouled up. I reviewed the original call when the move was booked and spoke with the manager and crew at length about this job. I discovered that the customer was given a basic phone estimate of 6 to 7 hours based on what they said they had to be moved and was recommended that we come out for a free on site estimate to be more accurate. After speaking to the crew I realized that the customer had 5 of their friends and family members there at the same time loading their personal trailer with out proper padding with there belongings and helped unload our truck because they wanted to to get the move done quicker to save money. Because of this, there is no telling of who did what damages. We pad all major items in the home to protect furniture and walls from damages where as they did not. Also because there was so many people helping unload the truck that created a huge mound of pads on our truck real quickly and makes the small area we are working in un safe as it is very easy to trip on the pads. It is policy that we fold our moving pads as we go to prevent unsafe issues from happening. The pads are folded when we arrive and therefore get folded before we leave. As for the truck being parked on the street, the drive way was just to small for our big truck and has to be placed on the street. We do have a damage claim form on our website and will be happy to come out and make any type of repairs needed to satisfy the customer.

Several pieces of furniture were damaged and the walls and floors were scratched and dented in multiple places at the old and new residences. We were very disappointed that the movers were not more careful. It was a very bad experience and we will never hire them again. I was very sorry I had recommended them to my parents. We were only compensated for about 1/3 the value of the damages. Some items came up missing and partially recovered from one of the workers homes by the manager and returned to us. His explanation was that they were Goodwill items that the worker claimed he had been given permission to take.

We are not exactly sure what happened in this situation.. We do not believe we made all the damages that had been claim but defenetly offered to make it right and start repairing damages and the customer declined and instead wanted money back. They where given 25 % off the total paid back to them to be put towards damages. We believe that was more than fair based on the insurance option that she selected. As for the missing items everything was returned and I truly believe that was just a misunderstanding.

The movers were later than expected because they either ran out of gas or had some problems with their fuel system. I had one piece of furniture, a little over 100 lbs, moved up the stairs. They warned me it was a little heavy for them when they were driving over and I asked if they needed a third guy-- they said no. They were not able to get it up the stairs without our help. When they finished moving it up the stairs one guy said, "huh, maybe we should have used the stair dolly instead of trying the regular dolly." I was shocked that professional movers would not know how to use their equipment properly and problem-solve. In the process of getting the piece up the stairs, they punctured two small holes in my dry wall. In addition to this, they knocked over some of the other items they delivered and never even bothered to inspect it to see if they had done any damage. They were walking incredibly slow while carrying light (less than 10lb) items-- I felt they were taking their time to make the trip last longer, given their hourly rate. I had to file a claim to fix the drywall. They were supposed to be there yesterday at 2, but never showed up. When I called they said they rescheduled and forgot to inform me. Today they were supposed to come at 2 but were unable to come and did not inform me. We have rescheduled for Monday and I will be incredibly upset if they do this to me again! However, I do appreciate that they are fixing the damage instead of just offering a discounted rate and expecting me to do it on my own. At first I hoped I just had a fluke experience with bad workers. However, I spoke with my boss and apparently Here to There Movers broke her headboard and it took her 2 months and many, many, phone calls to reclaim her headboard after they got it fixed. They promised to deliver it to her, but eventually she had to go pick it up herself after she tired of waiting. I do not recommend these movers unless you have a lot of time and patience to spare. They're affordable, but you get what you pay for! And using another company for less hours at a higher price may be more affordable.

We do applogize for the bad experiance you had with us. That is not the norm and we will be evaulating this move sure future customers do not have this experiance. However we did take all time off the bill that we had for down time because of the truck issue. We will be there on Monday o fix the damages and again apologize about the confusion on the schedule with that repair. We realy strive to please every customer and it looks like in this instence we came short.

They were great! I called Here to There from the antique store, at the store employees' recommendation. Josh was very friendly on the phone and sent a team of two men right over, which was much faster than I expected. They picked the table up from the store and set it up in my house--no small feat, considering the table was wider than my bungalow's tiny doors. From the time I called to the time the table was ready to use was no more than an hour and a half. The movers were friendly, they took good care of the piece, and the price was fair. I'd call them again

Response from Here To There Movers
Thank you for the good review! Here To There Movers appreciates our customers and does what it takes to get the job done! It has been said that the three most stressful things in life is dealing with a divorce, a death, or a move. We believe it is our job to take each customers situation and tailor our service based on what they need at that time. We have grown because of our willingness to please the customer is not limited to our office hours, or the amount of money the customer has to spend. It is not at all uncommon for us to hold a check for a customer, or start a move at a time that is convenient for the customer, but at a time that will have us working until midnight; at no extra cost to the customer. Now that we have dozens of employees and do hundreds of moves a year, most of which are routine, it is our job to handle the details that truly make us a SERVICE company... Please let us know if we can ever assist you again! Thanks again!

Two men were early for pick up at the storage unit. I've moved a few times, and I have not seen two movers so organized and fast as they were. They were considerate and personable. I had used either groupons or living social deals; so, I did not pay the amount above. I would use them again!

It lasted 3 days when it was supposed to take only 2. They completely broke 3 televisions due to negligent moving. I want to emphasize that all of these worked to a T before they got there hands on them. Also, our bedroom furniture was messed up after the move, and this was the only thing they fixed after breaking. There were numerous other things broken such as frames, mirrors, and tables. The assistant manager came out to our house to access the damage and agreed that these things were all ruined in the move, but since then they are not returning any phone calls. Initially, he told my wife to "go ahead and try to take us to court, others have tried and not been successful. You didn't read the fine print that we were not responsible." Now we're out thousands of dollars in tv's alone. If you are planning on using this company, proceed with caution. I would not recommend. Not once have I ever complained on a website or anything about a company, that is how bad they were. This is not the A-rated company named Here to There Moves. I assume they are using that company's name to ride their coattails. They are a separate company.

Response from Here To There Movers
This is Mike Sumner. Op manager for Indianapolis Here To There Movers. We gave this customer a do not exceed price and under estimated this job by about half, therefore they received a move about half the cost of what it should of been. We did not ask this customer for a penny more, we took the loss as any good business should. As for the damage, We did go out and see all damages immediately after being notified. Upon inspecting all damages I found a couple of piece of furniture with some scratches, a couple picture frames, 1 lamp rod damaged and offered to start the repair on those items immediately but I was told if I would not fix the televisions or replace them then they do not want me to do any repairs and asked me to leave and NOT take any of the items with me. The 2 tv' had no physical damage but 1 of them had an internal speaker not working and customer said the color was not the right tent but I could not tell as we watched the first part of a movie and it looked and sound fine with the external speakers he had hooked up, the 2nd tv came on but was not hooked up to anything but the menu screen came up and the picture looked perfect. I am not an electrician or service tech but from what I can tell is that any damage was internal possibly a loose connection and as our 1 paragraph contract says that the customer was showed and signed before the move that we will not insure the inside components on appliances or other electronic devices. When I first arrived to the repair appointment I was showed the tvs and the customer said to me that the movers did a really good job and had everything padded and shrunk wrap and was not sure why the tvs were not functioning properly. He also said he had already contact the manufacturer of the bigger tv and because of some mechanical failure that tv had a recall and the could replace that tv with a newer model from $300.00 - $500.00 depending on the size and wanted to know how much our insurance would give him for that so he could get the size ordered that he wanted. He was under time constraint with the warranty and only had 1 more day to make the decision as I was told by him. The customer became very hostile and treating slander when I told them we would not cover the tv's but recommended them a repair center to get them checked out I then left as asked. The customer request the owner Joshua call them. Joshua later called them and confirmed we were not liable for the tv damages and scheduled a furniture repair company to come out and fix the furniture because the customer did not want us back out at there house. To my knowledge all furniture repairs were successfully completed. We quickly got back with this customer and have done everything we can do for them. If we would have been allowed to repair / or take those other few items then we would have already had them taken care of. Seems to me that this customer just wanted a free move.... This is Joshua, the owner of the company. I personally did a walk thru during the move. The mother was there watching the baby and bragged about how careful the men were. When the job was done, the customer tipped my men $100. The total moving cost was about $6000.00. I had given her a move price of about $3400.00. I really misjudged the amount of stuff in the home. At the end of the move, i told the men to honor our original price and i would take the loss. When the claim came in, it only included a chip on the dresser, a scratch on the footboard and a scratch on the night stand, one TV speaker was "buzzing" and a missing sandbox. I sent my operations manager, mike, out to discuss the repair options with the customer. I asked if the tv's had any external damage. There was not a scratch on them. No dents could be found. The customer admitted that the TV's were very well protected and the men did a great job. At the end of Mikes visit, he explained to me that he was physically afraid to be there any longer and left. Later I contact the customer. I explained that we did not cover any internal damage if no external damage could be found, but suggested that they take the TV's to a repair center and if the repair people said it was caused by the move, we could cover it. She said that was not exceptable and she wanted 3 new TV's. I asked her if any of the TV's had ANY sort of damage that could be seen from the outside and she said no, but she wanted 3 new TV's. She then tells me that her baby was sleeping in some place that was not health because we did not put the crib together. I explained that no moving company will put a crib together because of the liability. She said it was broken and had a missing piece and that we did put it together. I told her we would happily discuss this with her, but i recommend that she get a new bed and if she was uncomfortable putting the bed together herself. She then explain how inconvienenced she was because we left a small wooden bar in the garage. I offered to come out and move that item where she wanted it. So after we discussed the TV's and Bed, she said what about the original claim or the scratches on the bedroom furniture. I said we would have a furniture medic come to the house and fix these items. When the furniture medic was there, he called me and stated that they repairs were VERY minor but she was making a long list of items she wanted addressed. I aggreed to have him do whatever she asked in the hopes of pleasing her and we paid the bill for this, of course. When (Member Name) called me, she stated how important she was and how she could ruin my business if i didn't give her 3 new TV's and a new crib. She now states that we are frauds claiming someone else's name. I ask you, how does a professional moving company with 20+ years of happy customers ruin 3 TV's that have NO evidence of damage. We move these TV's 5 times a day, 7 days a week. How does that list of damages grow as we attempt to "make it right". The answer is the customer is attempting to profit off the integrity of our name. It is the fact that our contract states " we are not liable for any internal damage to electronics." for just this reason. We have given all we are going to give and we are contemplating a tort claim for slander.

We had a very good experience with them. Everything went smoothly and was done in a timely fashion. I've dealt with other companies in the past that didn't do the quality of the work that these guys did. They were very courteous, didn't damage any of our heavy furniture, and they were able to run alot of our stuff that we didn't want through an auction, which saved us alot of hassle. If we ever had another need to move, we'd call them. I'm happy with their services and I would highly recommend this company to others.
