Here To There Movers

I have used them several times. They are great.

The service provided by Here To There Movers Company was good. However, we ran into a little snafu. They were going from my mother in law’s condo to my brother in law’s house which was both very close. When they got to my first brother in law’s house their truck broke down. The driveway is not so big at their house and it took over two hours for them to get someone out to jump start their truck. It made my sister in law stay in her house and she really needed to get out because she has a mother in law who was in a nursing home. It really put a damper on that. It was a little over two hours when they finally got to my other brother in law’s house. I told him that he should ask them for a discount on the $80 truck rental because their break down sort of put us out of our time. I don’t know if he asked them as I came to know that he just paid them the full amount. It went way over and I thought that may be they should have given us a break in the price, to be honest. Our overall experience with them was average due to their lack of communication with whoever they work with who could not get out helping them fix their truck. That could have avoided them from blocking up my sister in law’s driveway, considering that she needed to get to her mother in law. They charge for the hours they spend for the job. I didn’t go over my hours but they went over theirs. Since they kept all of us on their time, I felt that they could have given us a discount. They were nice people, I have nothing against them. They took two and a half more hours out of our day and we still ended up paying the same price. It caused a lot of inconvenience to my sister in law when they were delivering only two things to her house. As a company they need to have better communication and take care of their business out on the street and not in someone’s driveway. They should have at least paid a towing company to move the truck out because it really wasn’t our problem. They seem to do a good job but it ended up being a dilemma for us. Truthfully, they seem nice enough. Things were going fine until we ran into this problem. If my husband had to run a business and if one of his truck stops and if he didn’t have his people out there fixing his truck, he would have at least had somebody out there to jump the truck and get it out of people’s driveway immediately. That’s how one should run business. Anyway, all this happened, my mother in law passed away and I’m thinking that it could have been much worse. It’s just that I felt bad for my sister in law. She goes a few times a day to the nursing home to see her mother and she was stuck in her house and could not leave. That was really the only problem. Thank god that nothing serious had happened to her mother in law that day. However, I think that everything else went smoothly. Profession wise they should have done something about it. May be they are good at moving but they weren’t good at thinking on the spot. May be they are not allowed to make decisions because they only work for the company, I don’t really know. All I can say is that a real professional mover would not have sat in someone’s driveway blocking them in for that long. I don’t want to cause too much aggravation. It’s not like they stole from us or broke anything. I know that it could have been much worse. However, it would have made a big difference if they had been professional about making decisions. I would probably not use them in the future.

The movers were extremely friendly and accommodated my last-minute request to move a HUGE and incredibly heavy upright piano across town, on New Year's Eve. I called them New Year's Eve morning and they moved it that same afternoon for a very reasonable price (about $200, after everything). Two other places turned down my business because it was New Year's Eve. They were on-time, professional, and had no hidden fees or charges. They worked very hard to complete the move in as little time as possible and keep the costs down. A few weeks later I needed the same piano moved again at the last minute and they were just as accommodating. I was extremely pleased and will continue to give them my business any time I need a move.

Worst move ever - piano leg broken off, glass panel in dining room china closet broken, outside porch swing awning ripped, nightstand broken, etc. This group was horrible!!!

Two guys came across to move the piano from one floor to the other. They had hand trucks and ropes to move the same and did it without any problem. They hardly took about half an hour to carry out the job. Earlier they had helped me move my office from one location to the other. They had moved the work stations, cabinets, chairs, etc. They were punctual for the quote and the job. The moved it very carefully and ensured not to damage anything. I like their services and will use the same in future.

We had several large pieces of furniture that we needed moved from my Mother-in-law's home to our house and to a storage unit. There were two men sent for the job. They were both very polite and very careful with the furniture. Since we had some furniture going to a storage unit, they used blankets and sheets that we had to wrap the furniture with. That way we could keep the furniture wrapped in the storage unit. They worked efficiently to get everything wrapped and loaded. We were very pleased with the job they did.

The movers stole an iPod (subsequently recovered by the police when they tried to pawn it), scratched multiple pieces of furniture, and ruined a hand-made buffet hutch - split the wood. They when I tried to report the theft and furniture damage - by phone twice and also via email - the company declined to contact me. I finally gave up. DREADFUL experience!

Though the move was more then the initial estimate, it was still much lower then the others I checked. They showed up on time. There were just 2 men but they worked very hard and diligently. The move was accomplished in under 4 hours (it took the last crew of 4, from another mover, 8+ hours to move it into the storage unit). The men were courteous and helpful. We would use them again. This outfit seems to be a franchisee, of which there are several in Indy, some with not too good of a reputation. This one however gave us a good value of service for the price.

They arrived early and were very fast! They went over and above to move a lot more than we anticipated they could do in our 2 hour window! Friendly, great response time and customer service! Couldn't have gone better.

We contracted for two men and one truck to move three rooms of furniture across Indianapolis. They showed up about 15 minutes early and went right to work. They were clean courteous and professional. Everything was protected, loaded and moved to the new house. Even though there were narrow stairs on both ends they managed to get everything where we wanted it. There was a problem when we were ready to leave the house we were moving from when the truck wouldn’t start. The movers “stopped the clock” for the 10 – 15 minutes it took them to get the truck started and we were on our way. Nothing was damaged and we were able to get it all done in less than two hours.

It was AWESOME. Please disregard other negative comments from the list. Here to There gets solid A's in my opinion. This move went off without a hitch. They arrived right on time, with a crew of 9 clean, uniformed, friendly men, and got right to work. It was nearly 100 degrees out and these guys worked incredibly hard. They barely took breaks. When one man had to leave due to a family emergency, reinforcements were sent from other jobs so that our move could be completed in a timely manner. Our move took 12 hours and NOT ONE SCRATCH occurred. I never had any damage to any furniture, artwork or china. These guys were respectful despite sweltering weather, and were hard-working and professional. I would use them again and again, but hopefully won't have to move again soon. Recommend without any reservations. These guys are pros.

We needed to hire a moving company and learned about Here To There Movers from a coupon special they were running ($700 was the value of their services, not what we paid). We had never heard of them before or knew anyone who had used them, but we would absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone who needs to move! Erik and Navarro were excellent--very hard workers, careful with everything, and really nice. Request them when you book. We were so pleased with our whole experience and definitely recommend Here To There and Erik and Navarro!

We had used them once before. So that’s how we found them. They did a great job. The price was very reasonable compared to the other companies. They didn’t tack on extra fees for every step they took. It didn’t matter how many stores the house was. They were 15-20 minutes late than they said they would be.

Packers broke piece of heirloom crystal almost right off the bat. Packers handled crystal, china, and antique furniture too roughly. Didn't provide enough movers or a large enough truck on moving day. Movers were completely exhausted by the end of the second trip and many items were left at the old house for me to move later with my pick-up truck. Final bill much higher than estimate. A wholly unpleasant move.

They were very good. I give them A’s for everything. I would definitely use them again in the future.

They are fairly priced and made a couple of different stops for me. When we realized that my bed frame was missing from storage unit, they tried to replace it for me since they were the ones that had moved me into my storage. They guessed it had been left on the truck. It never really fit my bed but I appreciated them trying. Very professional and friendly. Will definitely use them again.

The company charges $95 per hour for a three-man crew, which we had. They also charge an extra half-hour if you stay in the county. If you cross to another county, they add another half-hour, no matter how far the actual trip is. We had disposed of a lot of our belongings before the move but still had a substantial amount to move. Unfortunately, the estimator was not close in estimating the size of the truck they would need. We therefore spent two days after the move carting the rest of the stuff in our cars from our old house to the new house, about ten miles away but in a neighboring county. We had planned to use those two days to unpack in the new house but were unable to do so. The men who did the actual move were very friendly and seemed to want to make us happy. They suggested that we could have them go back and get the rest of the stuff, which I said would have cost us a few hundred dollars more and they agreed. Or, they suggested, we could rent a truck for just another $100 or $200 and do it ourselves. We had not budgeted that much money, trusting the company to be reasonably accurate. They did seem to pack the truck fully -- although they left the glass tops to several tables they moved, which seemed odd as sheets of glass don't take up much space. We moved the glass tops ourselves the next day. They also used some paper padding that a friend had lent us but they did not ask us if it would be all right to use it. Unfortunately, the way they used the padding destroyed it, so we cannot now return it to our friends. The man who seemed to be in charge of the group made a point of telling me that they were not charging me for the last 20 minutes, which brought the job to $40 below the estimate, although of course they did not do all of the work that the estimate had covered. Another man told me that the heat of the day had slowed them down about 45 minutes, so I thought that the 20-minute "break" was not really the gift that the mover had made it seem. The estimate was given to us by the company after they came to our house and saw what needed to be moved.

I had scheduled a two-man crew for 2pm move from an apartment to a house. At 12:30pm they called saying that they were having some holdups but they should be arriving no later than 2:30pm. At 3:30pm I became to get worried and a little frustrated since I had wanted to avoid rush hour traffic. I could not reach the moving crew so I called the main office who stated that they were surprised. By 3:50pm they called back to apologize for the inconvenience and that they will send a 3rd man to help expedite the move and expect to arrive within 10 minutes. However, they did not arrive until 4:30pm. The next day when I had called the main office for an explanation they replied that the 8am time slot is the ONLY one that is guaranteed, all other time slots are a rough estimate at best! Upon arriving they explained that the 3rd person was sent to help out but ONLY for the loading portion and not the unloading. Yet he headed straight to the bathroom where he spent 45 minutes! The 3-man crew spent well over an hour loading 19 out of 20 items onto the truck. The item left behind was a desk (see picture) that was broken when one of the movers picked it up by the top left half-shelf and not from the full middle or bottom shelf that someone would typically lift from. They told me about the issue and said hey these things happen with pressed wood desks. After examining the damages and questioning the carrying technique they said they would try it from the bottom and they would definitely get it out of the apartment. A half-hour later they tell me that it is too big to take out. (Despite the fact that the other computer desk—also pressed wood—was larger, heavier, and more awkward.) The next day when my wife and I returned to the apartment and found that not only was a door off of the hinge and not repaired but the desk had BOTH shelves ripped off—meaning they repeated the same mistake! The damage to the top right half-shelf was worse than the first, beyond repair and rendering the desk unusable. (Please see pictures below.) After contacting management they explained (with a negative attitude) that they don’t know for sure if I didn’t just break the desk myself and regardless since it is pressed wood there is nothing they could do due to a clause in the contract signed after moving was complete—and in a hurry they told us it just mean what was put on the truck was taken off. They said they could send an inspector out to see if it can be repaired but he let me know it’s a waste my time and theirs. FYI, they did knick the walls in a few places. It was a small amount of damage though. Had it not been for the incidents above I would re-use “Here To There” for my future moving needs and give them referrals to my friends, family and co-workers but I am sure that there are a variety of moving companies that offer a higher caliber of professionalism with dealing with clients and their valuables.

very well. The furniture was extremely heavy and awkward. They did a great job and moved everything in about three hours. Only one issue, a small box was dropped, but there was no damage. This is the third time I have used them and I am always very pleased with their professionalism, the price,and how fast they are.

We downsized by about 1200 square feet. We had a truckload of furniture that I wanted to donate to St Vincent DePauw. They offered to send a second truck to do that at a very reasonable rate. A very good experience all around.

Joshua gave the best alternative to move my stuff from Indianapolis to Florida using Relocube. I hired his crews (2 ppl) to move my belongings from my house to a moving center. The crews were very helpful and friendly, made my moving experience less stressful. It was on a short notice also and he did not make a fuss like some others did on me.

It was a great experience. The guys padded and wrapped all of the furniture in plastic to ensure it wasn't damaged. Everything arrived in perfect condition.

Overall, very friendly and good service. My only complaint is that one of the movers tracked mud into various places in my house (I have very light carpeting). Fortunately, I was able to clean it up after they left.

Services were not completed because of their unprofessional attitude.
