Heartland Painters is excellent. Immediately following siding repair of the 3 buildings, they began painting. Their crew was professional and fast, and they were done within a matter of days. They did an excellent job cleaning up and removed all debris. The paint job looks amazing. Would highly recommend.

Painters were pleasant and hard-working, finishing in three days, counting the power-washing. They did a very good job at a reasonable price.

Tim was very prompt in all communication. I had to reschedule twice and he was gracious and accomodating. Let me say first, that I can only compare this job to one 3 yrs ago when I had another angie's list painter for my large family room with vaulted ceiling and also kitchen area. That job included wall paper removal in both rooms. Walls were also sanded, oil-base primed, and large vaulted ceiling painted, all for 1500 and the job took 4 days. For this ( heartland) job, I was surprised that ceiling and trim was extra. I accept responsiblity since I didn't ask questions before purchasing the "deal". I agreed to pay extra for the loft, all ceilings, and trim/doors (no trim or doors in dining room). Two coats of paint were applied to the walls. The crew did a good job. 2 showed up at 10:30 AM, and others came after lunch. This review is a little difficult for me to figure out because I'm taking into consideration the Angie's Deal. Regular cost would have been $1330, which seems high. I had all surfaces cleared of items and as much as possible small furniture items moved out of the rooms. Most of the furniture had been moved to the center of the rooms to make it easy for the crew. They finished the job by around 7:30 that evening. I had an appt with my lawyer and had to leave just before the crew was done. My son and a friend were still here visiting and were present when the crew left. The job looked great except for the bedroom closet doors and the back of the bedroom entry door. For some reason, the coat of paint rolled on didn't cover well. I spoke with Tim and found that the extra money for trim was only for one coat. It was with dismay that I found it would cost an extra $75 for them to come out and add a 2nd coat to the doors with poor paint coverage. I decided to do the 2nd coat myself rather than pay an extra amount. Because they didn't come back, I rehung the bifold closet doors by myself - I was pretty proud of myself since I'd never done that and they're kind of heavy for a lady over 60. I think they did a good job on walls, ceiling and trim . I felt if paying extra the door coverage should have been better, especially since trim coverage was good, - and they used good Porter paint. Only cons were cost and door coverage - overall grade is an A. Tim was really good to do business with.

They did a good job. I'm happy with the paint job. They were a little slow to respond to my calls, however they did apologize for each time I had to wait for a response. They left a bit of a mess (some paint on some furniture) but they came back and fixed it after I contacted to them about it.

Called to have them give me a quote to do some elevated work in the house that we couldn't handle ourselves. I let them know I was hoping to get the job done within the next week. The estimator arrived the next morning and indicated they could get it done that afternoon. The crew arrive shortly after lunch and began taping down paper around the work area. 3 painters were able complete the job in a few hours, they spent more time prepping the work area than painting. The only negative is that the crew spoke limited english but they were still friendly and professional. The finished product looks great and I'm wondering why I hadn't hired them from the begining.

We had waited too long to have our house repainted, but it was a great relief to find owner Tim O'Brien of Heartland Painters when we finally took care of this major home maintenance item. Our Angie's List coupon more than covered the extra cost of upgrading to Sherwin-Williams Duration paint, which my research convinced me is the longest-lasting residential paint on the market. Tim extended his warranty from two to five years for using this paint. His estimate was slightly lower than the other two estimates I'd gotten, but the attention to detail is what impressed me most. Our house had been painted twice before, but no one had taken the time to be sure that everything was structurally sound and all cracks and crevices around windows, doors and vents were totally sealed up before any paint was applied. Small crevices where insects had been entering our home were taken care of. We ran into a couple of unforeseen problems along the way, but Tim and his onsite supervisor listened patiently to my concerns and made sure the job was completed to my satisfaction before payment of the balance was made. The entire job was finished by the date Tim had promised. Our handyman was impressed by the quality of the job! I highly recommend Heartland Painters.

They were the lowest quote. He came right away. He was on time. He responded quickly with a quote and it was the most reasonable.

Two painters were at the door at 8 AM on June 7th. One could not speak English and the other only spoke broken English and it was hard to communicate. They painted two bedrooms. Not very professional. Didn't feel it was such a bargain.

Very well. There were some delays. I wasn't always informed about those, hence a slightly lower grade on responsiveness and professionalism. But the work's great and the workers were very nice/easy to deal with. They missed a few spots (under a large patio door), but I hadn't picked a color for the front door. After I did, I called, and they came back within 2 days to finish the house and paint the door.

Cost involved a significant coupon discount: 2 rooms painted for $450 ($1200 value). When I received the estimate, I learned that the ceilings and woodwork were not included, but I could pay additional to have these painted. I believe I asked for the woodwork and ceiling to be included in the hallway, which would be an additional $200. In addition, the price didn't include repairs to the walls and ceiling, as the older home would require lead remediation for that to be included. (I think these details should've been included in the coupon offer.) Because of the second factor, I did what I could to prep the walls and woodwork in order to save money. The two (and sometimes three) painters did a very good job and arrived on time. They were polite and pretty neat, covering with plastic all areas below where they were working. There was minimal paint spatter that I needed to clean up when they were gone, all of it small dots on hardwoods, therefore easy to remove. They worked quickly, finishing the work in two long days. There was some confusion as to the details of the job--they didn't know if they were to paint the ceiling and woodwork, and since I didn't have a written contract from the agreement more than 2 months prior, I couldn't remember what the extra $200 included. I was tired after all the prep work in the hallway, and requested that they do the ceiling and woodwork in the bedroom as well. I also had them paint a stripe on the wall next to the steps, which they did without question. After the work was done, a supervisor came to inspect the work and get paid. He asked if I thought the woodwork needed a second coat, and I thought it was fine. I paid $250 for the addition to the work order. I'm very happy with the work. I don't know that I'd have been willing to pay $1650 for the job, however. But I'm cheap and I've never had a room painted so I don't know what most companies charge. And it WAS a huge amount of woodwork...

The completed the job in a day, the left the are tidy and they did a good job.

The owner responded within 60seconds of me asking for an estimate. We had to get some wood siding replaced by another company. Once the construction was done I heard nothing for a few days and then was told that they would power wash and start painting depending on the weather. I then did not hear from them for almost a week and could not tell if they power washed or not and I was not clear on "depending on the weather" meant. Does that mean you cannot paint for 2 days after it rains or just on days when it rains. We were not in a hurry so I just figured they will come when they come. So the owner called one morning to let me know he was picking up the paint and they would start in an hour or so. They finished in two days. It looks great and we have had compliments on it. I would use them again and recommend them.

We always get different estimates and choose the lowest one and that is why we decided to go with another company. However, I think we would have chosen any of those companies. They were professional.

There was a special promotion on Angie?s which said they would paint two rooms for a set fee, and I hired them for that. We have never hired a professional painter before, so I may not be able to compare them and rate them. I would not use them or any painter in the future as my husband can do it himself.

Very well - my husband is very picky and asked to be involved in every phase of the job. He was very satisfied with the work done by Heartland Painters. They were very easy to get a hold of, even in the evening!

Overall, our experience with Heartland was very good, and we would definitely use this company again. Heartland used a high quality paint, and the painting crew did a wonderful job prepping the space and cleaning up after they finished. Not to mention the flawless job the painters did on the interior of our home. The one thing that could be improved is the communication with the owners - they could have been a little more timely with returning calls and preparing estimates, but other than this, we were pleased with our experience with Heartland.

I had 5 or 6 estimates but I did not use anybody. I am doing the work myself. A very young man came from Heartland Painters with his fianc?e or wife. He seemed to be upfront and personable. He was on Angies List. I don?t remember if his pricing was in line with some of the others. I did have some extraordinary work to be done with some cleaning and some wood replacement which may have been beyond his means. I don?t know. He was very responsive and he came on time. I thought he was professional considering his experience level. I will probably use him in the future.

Everything went very smoothly. Tim came out and gave me an estimate. They showed up when you said the would and they finished on time.

They were wonderful. The price was very fair, which included the paint and labor.The workers were very prompt and neat. I was a little scared of hiring someone due to bad experiences in the past but these guys were just wonderful. I would highly recommend them.

Tim, the owner, was great to work with. I needed the house painted before my daughter's wedding and the work was done on time and they did a fantastic job. I gained lots of points with my wife because she absolutely loves the new look. I would recommend them and use them again.

Tim provided and estimate that was completive with others I received. He applied the Angie's List discount to the job and gave a two year warranty against paint peeling. Tim worked with me on scheduling the job and the painters arrived on time and completed the job on time. Tim check with me about the job and I told him of one area I believed that could have better paint coverage. The painters were back out the next day to take care or the issue. I was very happy with the job.

The painters arrived on time, as scheduled, with all supplies, including paint. The workers were very professional. We are most pleased with the results.

Tim the owner is great and very responsive, very easy to work with. He was prompt for all visits and would call if the crew would be even 10 minutes late. I've had a LOT of trouble finding decent interior painters at a price I can afford - had several bad experiences, so I was very satisfied with Tim's crew. I supplied the paint and had it ready for them when they arrived - but they can work with you to bring it if necessary. Not everything was perfect without my pointing out issues, but when I did Tim was happy to have someone come back to do touchups. If you have them quote a job, I suggest that you have a careful discussion about what you expect up front, particularly if you are changing the color of any of your moldings. My quote was a bit vague when it came to "up to two coats" - and it turned out that in some areas just applying two coats might have been easier than touching up places where the old paint (which was a similar but slightly different color) showed through. There were some places also that should have been more carefully prepared prior to painting - and would have saved the painters time if it had occurred that way. But it didn't matter because Tim made sure it was right and was quick about getting the touch-ups done. If they do your doors, be sure to ask that they sand them down on the inside so that they will still open and close when they are finished. That was some re-work requested - but once again, Tim was happy to perform this work, even though I already paid. The crew was surprisely quick, quiet and pretty good about cleaning up after the job. I will be using them again once I get the next round of wallpaper off the walls.
