I obtained multiple quotes for the painting the home. Guy Painting's quote was mid-pack of the 4 quotes. I initially contracted with a different painter, but that painter backed out because he could not do the wood repair that was needed. Guy's quote was thorough, and included the carpentry and repairs as well as the painting. the crew showed up on time the day the work was scheduled to begin and was completed within one week, despite some rain that delayed some of the work. The pressure washing revealed more damaged wood that in the original estimate, and this increased the cost of the job by 20 percent over the original quote. The contractor met with me to discuss the additional work, and offered a discount on the materials and labor. I would add that the other quotes I received had made similar estimates on the amount of wood damage, so I do not feel I was treated unfairly. Follow up on the job was good. Someone came out two other times to unstick windows that were painted shut and to clean up the site for trash, nails etc. I was pleased with the quality of the work and recommended Guy to my neighbor who also needed to get his house painted.

Adalberto & his team of Pancho, Hector were extremely respectful, polite and attentive to our questions and requests. They were tidy & punctual. They worked their tails off & did a GREAT job! Bravo! We initially had communication issues with the company's operations mgr, but that later was improved.

It was horrible. The painting was scheduled for 9 am, but the painters didn’t show up until 1 pm. There were five men who set up their music in the kitchen. They used the toilets without asking. They decided to use the bathroom that they were painting as their personal bathroom. The painting was sloppy. We had to ask them to leave at 6:30 pm, so they came back today. Upon returning back today, they were on time, but didn’t bring any cleaning towels. We had to supply the towels and cleaning solution. I also didn’t know about an additional invoice until today, and a one-day job turned into a two-day ordeal. They got paint on the crown molding in the bathroom, and they tried to say that it was already there. I’ve been dealing with a paint estimator, two different foremen, and two people from this company, and it’s been a horrible experience. They used my trim paint and I had to request that they replace the gallon of paint that they used.

Overall it was very good. Guy painting was recommended by Angie's list as the best in the area. They were the first vendor to respond, Alltus was very nice and was very professional. They print out the estimate and take color 'before' pictures of the house that are included in the estimate. I got 5 estimates from other companies as well. Guy painting's was the second most expensive. However, they were the most responsive, most professional and the quality of what was in the scope of work was the highest for the amount. Examples, two coats of Duration paint. It was the only estimate that knew to seal everything after power washing and then spray a primer type coat before brushing the thick final layer. I think that's probably why the work looks the best and lasts the longest. The variety of the estimates to just paint the trim was kind of frightening though. They power washed the day before they painted, I couldn't be there and the water went through the front door and onto my front floor with scraps of paint. Because it sat for a few hours, the flooring which is laminate, took on water that I couldn't get out. I cleaned it up the best I could, and hopefully the hardwood laminate will dry out. I would suggest that people be home when the power washing and painting happens. There are several things that happened during the painting that I was glad I was there for. They gave me the leftover paint to do touchups as needed. They left some balls of masking tape in the lawn. They also made a huge swamp of latex paint water and mud on the side of the house cleaning out brushes. There is some paint drips on porch furniture and on the cement, I will pull it up when it dries. Here are some things that happened that they resolved when pointed out: - Broke off a piece of porch trim, they made a replacement piece and nailed it and painted it - Broke the screen door by pulling it too far open too quickly and pulled the screws out of the wood frame. Since they stripped the screw holes, the best they could do was to caulk the trim back and push the screws in. I hope it holds for a long time. - They popped out the back siding when plopping the ladders on the vinyl siding. I wished they would have used "standoffs" on the ladders. They attempted to push the siding back in the groove, but I think you need the J tool to do this, and I don't have a 25 ft. ladder so I'm really going to have to be ok with it. - They don't clean the vinyl siding, they recommended "Pressure Doctor" to do the washing and that was $400 extra - I was hoping they could do it while they were onsite, but they explained the "Doctor" has special tools and solutions to do the cleaning Alltus, the estimator was very responsive. Bill, the scheduler/project manager never was able to call me when I could answer and we traded voicemails. The painters were helpful, and I think I shouldn't have been in the position to point out all the problems on the job they needed to correct. I think Bill could have been the go between for this if he was ever onsite or answered when called. When they were coming to power wash, they called and said they were 1 hour out, after 2 hours, I called them I told them I had to leave and they came after I left at some point. Another thing to consider, there is an additional cost for changing house color. When I learned this I just kept the original house colors.

The crew showed up as scheduled to power wash the house and returned the next day to paint. When I returned home from work I was very pleased to see the job completed and the house looking great!

They did everything they said they would do and they have more complete contract than the rest of the gutters.

Guy Painting's contract workers showed up on time. They were dressed properly and very courteous. Had to be reminded of two bathroom ceilings included in the contract. Ladders gouged wallpaper in two rooms, but damage was minor. Painting was well done, but left a few splatters here and there that were easily cleaned up. One worker left a jacket behind when they left. We were generally pleased with the results, but could not award an "A" rating based on this job's overall performance.

I contacted Guy Painting and a very professional sales person came out to look at what we needed done. Which was replacing and painting rotten wooden window panes, staining a wooden playset and deck, painting cast iron 6 foot urns. Sales rep took the information of what we needed done said he would work an estimate up for me on everything but the windows, he would need to send his carpenter out to take a look at them. He told me the carpenter would call to schedule time. A week and a half went by and I heard nothing. I called the office and the front desk person was very apologetic and said she would make sure the carpenter would call me. He called that day but didnt show up when he said he would. I called him directly, he also apologized and we rescheduled for the following week. He did show up. It's been one month and I never heard back from Guy Painting with any estimates. Since then I have met with 2 other companies, received there bids and booked someone for June 4th. They were a waste of my time. All talk no execution.

The crew did the work timely in spite of the rainy weather doing a rare dry period. They were very professional and did and excellent job. The work looks great.

This was for my office (work). Earlier this week we had rooms and halls done at our home.

Good job. Workers were friendly, arrived early, asked good questions and did a good job.

Initially, the project did not start well due to the fact that Guy Painting subcontracts their work. One person issues the quotes while a separate person serves as the project manager and two other companies are hired to paint and prep the job. Communication between these four parties did not happen in a timely fashion. I had to serve the role of project manager as it quickly became apparent that none of the parties were communicating. For example, if I would have not have been home when the painters arrived at my house to paint, none of the rotted wood would have been replaced, which was part of the quote. Another example is that the carpenter contacted me to replace the rotted wood, he thought that he was contacting me to fix a leaking window,which was not correct. These communication problems existed all the way to paying the final bill. I had to ask the project manager, who only came to my house on the final day to provide me with an updated bill, which he did not have. Overall, the painters did a good job at painting the house and making the corrections that we asked.

Ron Jones came out to provide estimate, he was courteous and knowledgeable and willing to wait til March to do the work. Bill called to schedule work. Bill and painters ( Carlos and Abraham) arrived to do work and completed job in one day.

Contacted several painting companies for estimates of painting the exterior of our house. Guy Painting wasn't the cheapest and wasn't the most expensive. I liked the way Ron's demeanor is when he deals with customers. He has a very laid-back approach which blended with my type-A++ness very well. I added on several items after the original estimate (poolhouse, porchroof, storm window frames, etc) and each time I thought his add-on price was VERY reasonable. We were having a difficult time trying to decide what colors to paint. After eleven different samples painted on our house we called Ron and he had Theresa, a color consultant from Sherwin Williams help us out. Having Theresa was very helpful and a color decision was made. After contracting with the company they scheduled their carpenter (Eric Wall of Jadco) come out and do about $1000 worth of wood repair. He cut back some T-111 siding and added a cedar 1 x 4 bandboard (with z-flashing), replaced several pieces of T-111 siding that had water damage, and replaced some soffit on our sun room. They primed and caulked everything to get it ready for paint. A few days before painting was to begin their lead painter (name escapes me right now) came out with a power washer and did the entire house. We had a break in the crappy spring weather and I talked them into starting a little early. The first day was devoted to prep work. They scraped, caulked, and primed all the areas that needed to be done. I was a pest to them and pointed out several places that I knew about that they did not do. They were very nice about my interferences though and always quickly did what I asked. The painting was started and to be honest I did not like the colors at first and was having a hard time determining what parts of the house to be painted the trim color. After a semi-panicked call to Ron he came over and we collectively decided what to do. We did end up changing the trim color and I'm glad we did. It took three full days of work to get everything done and we absolutely LOVE the finished result. I would have rated them an "A" in everything except if I am honest, the "cons" below bumped the "quality" down to a "B". I would use them again and just keep a better eye on all the details.
