All the painters arrived on time, each day, they were very hard workers. They were sure to clean up after themselves. Often went above and beyond – would hire again. Prices were great.

I met the owner, Ron Jones, at the Indianapolis Home show and arranged for a free estimate. Ron came out and went through all of the rooms, and addressed all of my questions. He also provided me with a book that contained many comments from previous customers about the quality of their work. Ron was very professional and knowledgeable and he knew exactly needed to be don't to repair some areas prior to painting. Ron quickly prepared an estimate that included a generous discount. After reviewing a couple of estimates from other painting companies, and related comments about their work from other Angie's list subscribers, I decided to go with Guy Painting and contacted Ron to schedule the work. The paint crew showed up as scheduled and began prep work for a job that they thought would take 3-4 days. They provided all of the materials needed to complete the job. They ensured that my property was protected throughout the job and did a great job cleaning up at the end of the day. The paint crew was clean, courteous, and very professional. They worked very well together and knew exactly what needed to be done. The work was completed in 3 and a half days and that included cleanup and removal of all of the work materials except two small containers of leftover paint, which they left for me in case I needed for other projects. We completed a joint inspection of the work areas with the lead painter to ensure that we were satisfied with the quality of the work. I am very satisfied and highly recommend Guy Painting. I intend to use this company for an exterior paint job in the spring.

The crew arrived early every day and stayed a full day and was fast and efficient. They went above and beyond and repaired a substantial crack in the plaster wall that I didn't even know would be part of their work - they also had to repair a ton of nail holes from the previous owners (but they said that would be included). They came back through and did some touchup after it was all done. I am looking forward to using them to do the bedrooms and some minor exterior work!

Went very well! Workers arrived on time, put in full days. Were very pleasant and listened to comments/suggestions and did excellent, quality work.

The carpenter crew performed repairs followed by power washing and caulking prep on Monday. On Tuesday, paint crew was prompt, efficient and finished earlier that expected. Clean up was thorough.

Carpenter showed up and worked quickly (1 day of work). Painters arrived, power washed (1st day). Painted (days 2 & 3). Very courteous, nice, worked quickly with very little disruption. Quote was on 9/14 but work started 10/20. This was ok because weather was perfect.

Our contacts at Guy Painting and the painters were courteous and professional. The work was completed much quicker than we anticipated and the color-matching was exceptional.

Dining room re-do mudded, sanded, re-paint. Jose was excellent!

We had trouble with the first crew that came in. They brought in a whole new crew and they fixed the problem. They went above and beyond to make it right. The first crew was so bad, they had to send in a cleaning crew to fix their messes and repainted the work that the first crew did. Half of it was bad but, they went above and beyond to make it right. I would recommend them. They were the same amount as everybody else. They were quick on responsiveness when there was a problem.

Company rep was very accessible & responsive. Carpenters & painters hard working, prompt & courteous. A+ for all involved!

Several touch ups, repairs following initial painting - crew came back out and ensured met expectations when complete, looks fantastic !

Shortly after contract was signed I received the call from Mike regarding the schedule. Painting was done on time and with good quality.

Jose and his son are outstanding, attention to detail is phenomenal! Jose (and son) were very courteous, always on time, and stayed late to complete the job. I would highly recommend Guy Painting (Guy has painted our entire home over the course of 3-years, interior and exterior).

Called Guy Painting for estimate because a neighbor had used and was satisfied. Alltus Edwards came out and gave us a bid on 09/15/2015 which included preparation, replacing some rotting and/or cracked trim boards and two coats of paint. I asked if they had their own painters or used other painters and Alltus said they used contract painters; that was a red flag that unfortunately I ignored when he assured me that they only used quality painters. With Alltus assurances of quality work and not having to pay anything up front I went forward with Guy Painting. The work began in late September and the only prep work was a quick power wash that was incomplete in that the siding and trim inside the screened porch was skipped, and it was obviously very dusty and dirty. Only when told not to paint in the porch until it had been washed did they start up the power washer again and do it. After the power wash no other prep was done, the loose and peeling paint left on the house was just painted over. My wife and I were pretty good at keeping an eye on them and are sure that there was never a paint scraper or sandpaper used. One of the contract statements: "HAND SCRAPE loose paint, light sand bare areas as needed for adhesion" obviously was not done. Another, "CAULK wood joints, gaps" was hap-hazard at best with many gaps missed and some of the caulking painted over too soon leading to cracks in the new paint as the paint and caulking dried. Another contract statement "Remove downspouts (non-riveted) to paint behind" also was not done; I guess since we were using the same color as before they figured they needn't satisfy that part of the contract. The best of all the contract misses was "Apply 2 COATS of Sherwin Williams Super Paint (25 year paint); my wife called while I was shopping that the painter told her he was going to put on two coats that afternoon and then would be done. I hurried home to watch knowing that there was not enough time to do two coats and watched as he went around the house with sprayer in one hand and small roller in the other which is a proper way to put on a coat of spray paint and he was done around 6pm so assumed that my wife had misunderstood him as there was a language problem. The next day it rained and no one showed but when painter came the day after and was doing trim I asked about putting on the 2nd coat and he said he had already put on two coats, and of course, he and I disagreed. I called Alltus Edwards, and Alltus said that two coats had been applied since he had the sprayer in one hand and the roller in the other hand. [[ I should stop here and explain that either Alltus knows nothing about painting or he was flat out trying to mislead me. I grew up in a painting family; my father was a painter and then owned a paint store for over 20 years so I know something about painting. I basically have done all my own painting and painted for others and never hired a painter until I was over 60 years of age.]] Michael from Guy Painting who was supposedly managing the job showed up for the first time after I had talked to Alltus and he had a different definition of two coats to try on me that might have worked if I hadn't watched the painter carefully after he told my wife he was going to do two coats in one afternoon. Michael said the painter sprayed in sections and with the fast drying acrylic paint would then go back over the first section after it was dry before moving the ladders to the next spot. That didn't work with me either since I had spent the afternoon watching the painting he also said that he could look at the paint sheen and see that it had two coats. Being knowledgeable with painting myself, I know that only is true when painting a previously unpainted surface. Also before Michael arrived, I had contacted both the local Sherwin Williams store via phone and the Sherwin Williams corporate tech via email and was well aware of what they considered two coats and it didn't include either of the Guy Painting definitions. Michael spent some time talking to the painter and then told me that another coat would be applied. We also did a walk around to observe the spots where peeling paint was painted over and areas that should have been caulked weren't. The painters did put on another coat and redo some of the areas that needed to be scraped and redone but this time painted over most of the new caulk too soon and the paint split as the caulk dried. After that the painters were not seen again and Michael did the final touchups, cleaning paint and caulk off my freshly stained deck and cleaning windows that had paint sprayed on them.

It took us over two years to find the right company to paint the exterior of our custom home which includes several challenging architectural details. Alltus Edwards met with us for two hours during the estimate process. He took many photos of the house to show where carpentry work needed to be done. They are very interested in identifying and replacing rotting or compromised wood in order to ensure a high quality painting surface. The carpenters Guy Painting works with are very professional and excellent at what they do. They found additional areas which needed to be addressed when they inspected the uppermost portions of the house which are difficult to assess from ground level. They pulled off the rotted wood and showed it to us. They proceeded to replace these areas only after getting permission from us. All additional costs were made very clear. The prep and painting crew did an excellent job overall. They were very professional, punctual, respectful, patient, and hardworking. Michael, their quality manager, did a good job of staying in touch with us over the duration of our project. He stopped by almost daily to examine the work and address any issues which came up. The entire project took about 2.5 weeks. We are very happy with the work performed by Guy Painting and would not hesitate to give them our highest recommendation.
