I scheduled my appointment on Monday morning for Wednesday between 1-5pm. I received an email the day of my appointment thanking me for rescheduling. I was rescheduled with a note from the technician that both provided numbers were called with no answer and could not leave message "rang busy". The numbers I provided are my stay at home wife and my cell phones with voice mail. Not only did we not recieve a call, but our appointment was rescheduled to Friday afternoon. I called the 800 number and spoke to customer service that only asked me if I would like to reschedule for a later date because they were overbooked.
Description of Work: No call!

They are awesome guys. Our trash compressor was in its last leg and our tech, Brandon said they don’t even make it anymore, I asked him if he could fix it and he said he could and he did. Brandon was super nice. He was in the neighborhood, he called me and asked me if he could come a little early, I was more than happy with that, so he came in, and he had it fixed and going.
Description of Work: We used GE Appliances to repair our trash compactor.

NOT GOOD....STAY AWAY FROM GE..BOUGHT A BRAND NEW DISHWASHER, IT NEVER WORKED FROM THE START & GE REFUSED TO REPLACE IT.
Description of Work: Bought a brand new GE dishwasher from Home Depot. Got it home, hooked it up and it wouldnt work. Checked electric & water and the dishwasher was receiving both...called Ge and they sent out a repair man the next week. Repairman came and he was very friendly...discovered after about an hour that the motherboard was bad. Again...brand new dishwasher. Ordered a new motherboard, waited another week, had another repairman come. Messed around for about an hour and discovered it was the wrong motherboard. Called customer service at GE to tell them I wanted a new dishwasher I was not confident that this one would last since it was brand new and already broken, was told that they would only repair it. I refused to except the repair and she told me either she would send someone to repair it or I could take it back to Home Depot. Call Home depot and they sent out a new dishwasher 3 days later...no problems at all! Shame on you GE for letting a BRAND NEW DISHWASHER leave your factory and the entire brains of the dishwasher is bad!! Especially shame on you for your horrible customer service and unwillingness to assist the customer! Thank you Home Depot for your continued excellent customer service. STAY AWAY FROM GE AND BUY ANOTHER BRAND!!!

Their service fee (cost to come out w/o parts/labor) was much more than other Angie's List companies .... so I went with another A-rated Angies List company. They came out and fixed the issues for 1/2 the cost of this group.

First, they were unable to come out the same day, which I am finding to my utter disappointment seems to be the case throughout the appliance repair industry. Of course, I understand not coming out the same day for washers and dryers, but this is a fridge/freezer and I have food spoiling as we speak! Ok, and second, we then settled on an appointment for the next afternoon (today). Thinking this would be a more reliable provider than the no-name provider we had previously found, we cancelled the other appointment. Technician called half an hour prior to the appointment time and arrived on time. Upon arrival, however, he took one look at the appliance and said, Oh, that's a KitchenAid. I don't/can't work on those; I only work on GE's. The techician is not at fault here; the fact that he was dispatched out at all is completely unacceptable. The person at fault is the person who took the appointment (whose demeanor was unprofessional, that should have been a clue) because we even gave her the MODEL NUMBER of the refrigerator which she should have been able to say, oh, sorry, we don't work on those. Now we are forced to delay yet another day for another technician, or just go out and buy a new fridge, which we considered doing yesterday and definitely would have done today if we had known. And despite our best efforts to preserve the food that was in the fridge (in coolers on ice) and in the freezer (by moving it to a large standalone freezer in the basement, which is now full) we are going to be forced to throw everything out and start over. Based on the aforementioned experience with the phone rep, I do not have any confidence in our ability to reach someone in charge who would offer any useful apology, nor do I have the time. I have to go and buy a fridge. So, thank you Angie's List for taking this complaint. I hope others don't have to encounter the same ineptness I found with this organization.
