John has taken care of our personal vehicles for years. Whether it was an oil change or major work on the suspension, John is amazing. You can always trust him. He will not try to sell you on something that you don't need. You know that you will receive a fair price. We have recommended Gasoline Alley Tune-Up to many people and will continue to do so.

Again what I thought was wrong, wasn't. John,I have known him for thirty years but he treats everybody just like he treats me. He's just honest. I was his first customer thirty years ago. People say Paul,do you know a good mechanic? and I say take it to John and they come back and say "thank you".

I have been using John for many years for auto repair. He always explains the repair required and provides an estimated cost. His estimate is usually spot on or higher than the final bill. I highly recommend this provider.

Tires rotated and oil change. Explained on diagram the problem of the rattling noices I was hearing. Show me the stut and plates that will need work (est. Approx $1200) This business has worked on our vehicles for years and my brother-in-laws as well. There have been other times that I have questions and I drive in and he tells me if it is critical or I can wait a bit.

We could not have asked for better service. We had a small window of time to have the work done and everything was taken care of as promised. Everything was explained to us in great detail. The problem was taken care of and we are very pleased.
Description of Work: We had a persistant check engine light problem with our 2002 Dodge Stratus. Our local shop had done everything that it could so we checked out Gasoline Alley on Angies List and got a confirming referral from our local shop. They did a scope engine, scan and computer test. They cleaned the EGR passages, lines and valve. They also worked on the upper intake plenum. While they had things apart, they checked the spark plugs and wires. They checked with us to see if they had been replaced. Since they had not, they suggested doing this at the same time because of the location of the spark plugs and wires. They also tightened the valve covers.

My wife took the car over because I couldn't get to it right then. He fixed it up right away and didn't even charge her for it. He does really quality work and I absolutely trust him. He is honest with you, and lets you know what really needs to be done. I've been using him for years, and he always gives great advice. I've not been disappointed with any of his work.

I like them. Very knowledgeable and understand classic cars. Mine was never outside until I picked it up. I asked for that and they obliged. I ran out of gas about 1/2 mile after service. They right away sent out a guy with a gas can and got me going, followed me to station and refused payment for the gas or their time away. It is something you don't get much of these days. Customer Service.
Description of Work: This is the second time I trusted my cars to their service. The first time was to completely go over a 1970 Buick Convertible I just bought. Work was excellent. Knew their stuff on older cars and has run like a dream since. Took it back this year for simple maintenance. This year I also took my regular driver. Over 120,000 miles. Very little work done other that routine maintenance. They went over the car from front to back. Gave estimate. Found a couple more items that needed done once the got into the engine and still just about made the original estimate. I may have found a least expensive garage but there is none that I would trust now more. The work is superb every time. The prices very well worth the extra care. I know I am ready to add another trouble free 100,000 miles with only routine maintenance again.

Got the name and number of this auto mechanic from a work colleague, who highly recommended them. Called them right away and was invited to bring the car in the next morning to discuss issues and allow Chief mechanic and owner, John Cruse, to drive it with me around the block. He figured out pretty quickly what needed to be done and gave me an estimate, all within 30 minutes. The estimate he gave me was under the amount normally charged by other mechanics, because John wants to make sure his customers come back, and because he is a really nice guy. This was on a Thursday, so I decided to bring the car in the following Monday for the service. On Monday, I dropped the car off in the morning and picked it up before they closed that evening. The estimate was exactly what was quoted to me, which was a little under $400.00. John told me that after they did the work on the car they also checked the tire pressure and the fluids. John is a very personable guy and the whole experience was great from start to finish. Evereyone in the shop seems to know what they are doing and I will definitely take my car there again in the future. And you can't beat a mechanic who is nice enough to keep a stray that showed up at the shop one day. Her name is Lady, and she comes to the shop with John every day. Great place and great people. I highly recommend them.

John Kruse and all of the service technicians were friendly, courteous and polite. Appeared very knowledgeable and accomodating. This was our first experience with Gasoline Alley but it won't be our last. Note: the business is actually located off of Rockville Rd, west of Gasoline Alley.
Description of Work: Vehicle was taken in to determine cause of battery drain. Service provider disconnected the remote auto starter(which was not factory installed) after conferring with us. Discovered a problem with the air conditioner compressor which had to be replaced. Car was tested over three days but battery remained charged and there was no indication of any shorts, etc. As a courtesy, they topped off all fluids and repaired a non-functioning turn signal.
