I backed my car into the garage door and completely knocked it off the tracks. Door was partially open and it wouldn't move in either direction. My car was stuck inside. I called them and they were very friendly. They scheduled time to come out the same day and showed up on time and was very professional. Was able to get the door working with a lot less cost than expected. Would definitely use them for any garage door issues.

Upon my arrival there was one employee who proclaimed to know nothing about windows. He said that "the window guy" was out until Monday, but that he would have him give me a call. I gave him my business card that also had my cell phone on it and email. This was six weeks ago and I received no call or email. Evidently this company has so much business that selling me three or four thousand dollars worth of windows isn't worth a callback. Next time, I'll save my time and won't drive to their showroom. It was a waste of my time and money. I don't need to beg someone to sell me windows.

Overall a great experience and I would definitely use this company again.

My experience with was pretty good. They came out on time, they gave me a quote right away, and there was no pressure. I had a real good guy that came out and he cleaned up afterwards. He called me the next day because he wanted to bring another opener over to me. He explained everything about the new doors and openers and he was nice, courteous, and clean-cut.

They were very good. Unlike another provider, they didn?t try to cheat me by selling me more than what I needed. They repaired the door and left.

They did a good job as far as quick, and being prompt. The price was right. I would hire them again, matter of fact they came down and met a cheaper price that another outfit had.

The two men who came were very intelligent, they explained everything to us. It only took them about 1.5 hours and the materials they used were excellent! We are very very happy. We would recommend them to anybody! They had a good price, $1700 was for the whole door, screen, and installation.

The experience was good. The only issue I had was that they did not give a time interval for when they would be out. She stated that someone would call in the morning and I waited two hours and then called them and she stated they would be out in the afternoon.

We had some small issues with the door, and even though we were out of the warranty, they came and did some adjustments for free. They were very pleasant and nice to deal with.

They have only been out to my home 2 times since I moved here in 2002. They were very responsive.

Sales Rep Rich Churchill came to see us the morning after our initial call and gave us an estimate. He told us our existing wireless keyless entry would work with the new openers. I called him back later to ask if the openers had a particular feature (which a previous door GDI installed had). Rich told me they had the feature. The job was scheduled within two days, the doors were installed promptly and well. However, the existing wireless keyless entry would not work with these openers, and they did not have the feature that I specifically inquired about, and without which, we would not have bought these particular openers. I called GDI to inquire about a new wireless keyless entry and was told the list price is $99. The list price of that product number elsewhere is $49; I bought it online for $39. It took over a week and several phone calls to Rich to finally get an answer about the missing feature, which he confirmed was not on these openers. He offered to replace the openers with a diffierent model that contained the feature. Since this would have required replacing all the new hardware including tracks, etc., that seemed excessive and I advised Rich we would talk about it and get back to him. The next day, "Ron", who said he was the sales manager, called me. Ron was rude and obnoxious, and interrupted constantly. He said, "if you want new openers, you'll have to pay for them." WE NEVER ASKED FOR NEW OPENERS - Rich offered us that option. Ron told us he'd send a man out to install a motion sensor inside our garage, but never called us back to follow up. (It was not an acceptable fix, anyway.) Between a sales rep who (at best) doesn't know his products, a parts department that quotes products at twice their list price, and the arrogance of the sales manager, we would never do any further business with this company.

They installed two single and new garage doors for us, as the original garage doors were old. We had storm damage. The price charged by them was fairly expensive, but they did a good job in installing the doors. I also knew before as to what they were going to charge me. They didn?t finish the trim really well, but that was a minor thing. I might use their services in the future as well.

I appreciated that they were efficient and took the time to explain the repairs and didn?t have a problem with me watching them completing the work. I believe they were honest about the service and reasonably priced.

It couldn't have been any better. They know their job, and they did it well.

I have used them many times. They come fairly timely; sometimes the same day and sometimes within a couple of hours. They are very professional, thorough, and cordial. They seem to know what they are doing.

They are great. They installed both doors for me a few years back. They come right out when they say they will be there and they do excellent work.

Scheduled service for 7/1. Technician arrived around 10:45 and determined one of two circuit boards was not operating properly. Technician did not have proper replacement part, and was unable to contact anyone at the office to see if one existed in inventory. Technician stated he had other jobs to do in the area and would call back within an hour to let me know if the part was in inventory. At 3:30 I called the office since technician never called, nor returned to finish service. I was told that technician was on other calls and someone would return tomorrow. I stated that was unacceptable since someone had been waiting several hours for a call and had taken time off from work to have the service performed that day. The office person called back a few minutes later and said someone would be out later that day, but could not tell me what time it would be. The technician returned about half an hour later and then spent nearly an hour trying to replace the circuit board. While the opener worked sporadically with the new board installed, the cover on the opener would not close and the technician frustratingly stated that the replacement part was made differently than the old one. It appeared obvious by looking at the replacement part that it was not the correct part as it was much larger than the defective unit. The technician then left for the day and said he'd return tomorrow. An office person called later to state that my repair would be on the schedule for 7/2 and someone would call in the morning to let me know when the technician would be returning. At 11:45 I received a call saying the technician was already on his way. Upon arriving at home in less than 20 minutes I found the technician had already opened the garage door and was working, even though nobody was at home and he was told not to work without someone being home. The technician's response was "they should have called you in plenty of time." Surprisingly, the circuit board was replaced and operational in less than 5 minutes with a part that matched the defective one. Throughout this entire frustrating process not one single person at the company apologized for the numerous delays, nor did they act as if re-scheduling an appointment another time or the following day was any inconvenience to the customer. It's even more frustrating knowing that the company is less than 5 miles from my house and the repair ultimately took just a few minutes.

The provided same day service and they service man they sent out was experienced. He was very cordial and explained the problem and solution. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

The service was prompt, complete and successful. The did good work! I was impressed with the "A +" service.

Returned from an out of town trip and found the garage door inoperable; inspection showed a broken spring; I called Garage Doors of Indianapolis after 2 PM and was surprised to find out a technician could still come out that day and they would call when about 30 minutes away; less than an hour later I got a call saying they'd be there in about 10 mins; the technician arrived and quickly (about 45 mins) took care of the problem; when I asked about using a coupon for a general service check he indicated that I'd be better off using the $10 off service call coupon; he basically did all that was called out on the service check coupon as part of the repair; I did much better than "call in the morning for service today"; I also am pleased with the warranty given for this work.

While it was relatively easy to get someone out to the house to assess the necessary repair, it was a problem to get the actual repair scheduled. I saw that others have commented on this as well and I should have listened to that advice more closely. The technician recommended that we have our opener replaced. I don't understand why he did not have any parts or complete systems on his truck, but apparently he did not. We had to schedule the replacement for the next day. I very specifically asked for a mid to late afternoon appointment, which I was told was not a problem. However, this company does not finalize their appointment schedule until each morning and only then do they notify their customers what time they will be arriving to perform the service. For many people, that might be perfectly fine, but for me, it was not. I had asked for an afternoon appt and I received a call around 9 am from the scheduler saying that the technician would be at my house at 10am. I work downtown and live in Hamilton County, so that did not work for me. When I asked for an afternoon appt, the scheduler complained that if she did that, the installer would have nothing to do for 2 hours. And when I asked for early the next morning, it was the same problem where she would not give me a time frame until the next morning when they set that day's schedule. At that point, I cancelled the installation with this company and used another company that was much easier to work with and was able to give me an appointment time in advance so that I could schedule my day.

I had a new garage door installed in 2004 on our little one car garage. Worked great, looked great, I was very happy. Fast forward to last summer, July 2008. One of the wires came off the spool. So I called them up, they sent someone the next day. After he got the wire back on the spool he told me the reason it came off was because one of the main bolts that hold the door on had come out. He said I could just fix it myself and save some money. So I paid the 90 dollars that day and the door worked until December when the wire came off the spool again. So yesterday I decided to climb up and take a look and see if I could fix it. No Way! There's all kind of warnings not to touch the thing. The worst part is that it looks like a shoddy installation from the get go. The main bracket the holds the spring and bar is screwed into three scraps of wood that are just rigged up there. The bolt that came out was only screwed into a half inch piece of plywood. I called them and explained all of this and they will fix it but they are going to charge me. I think it was shoddy from the start and they should step up and just fix it. Not to mention they need to tell there workers not to tell people to fix it themselves. I could have been seriously hurt had I tried to. To add insult to injury last week when it was nice I got my bike out of the garage. Because the door was broke I just left the bike on my porch until I had time to fix the garage door, I thought that was going to be on Sunday. Guess what, bike stolen.

They missed their first appointment on a Friday afternoon then rescheduled by mutual agreement for Saturday and were right on time. The door works perfectly now. The tech was friendly and efficient.
