Garage Doors of Indianapolis

I called them on the morning of August 6 and they met me later that day to make the repairs.

Installation and repair went without a hitch. Great service. Unfortunately, when I was out of town, somehow the outside code key box stopped working - even my master code won't work - and I had service people scheduled to do another repair waiting for hours until I could find someone local who had a key. When I called Indy door, they did not offer any sort of assistance, saying they couldn't do anything about it. Now I have a totally NON- functional keypad that cost extra but they won't fix. Tried to tell me that a power outage might have reset it. Meanwhile, without a master code, there is nothing I can do! So overall, great installer & sales person. Terrible when it came to standing by the product add on when I called in.

It is a better system with more safeguards and better remote. The door works like a charm and is so much quieter and better than the old one. He was polite and worked hard and did a great job.

We have used them in the past and normally not had this many issues with them. They did give us a small discount for the inconvenience (I think about $20). So it wasn't the best experience since they should've noticed the spring in the first place but, in the end, we were satisfied.

I did some comparison shopping price-wise and they were very competitive. They were here when they said they would be. The fellow who was here did a real nice job, and wanted me to go ahead and lift the door to see if I was happy. The handle was a bit low for me to get leverage on, and so he added a second higher handle for both doors, with no charge. Somebody from the company called me a couple days to make sure I was happy, which I always appreciate. I even got weatherstripping on the sides, which I didn't know was included in the price.

Overall, great experience. GDI was actually my second choice when the first company I contacted did not respond. Service tech came out the same day I called to look at my issue. Gave me two options: Repair unit or for about another $100, get a new opener with the works. Since the existing opener was nearly 20 years old, it was a no-brainer. Two days later, another tech came out with opener and within 45 minutes, my garage door was back in service. He even gave the door a tune up, checked rollers, springs and replaced a couple of missing bolts. All part of service. Very pleased. Will definitely use them again.

replaced cables on the one that broke, inspected the other ... showed where they were frayed and suggested they be repalced as well and did so. inspected and oiled.

Turns out the battery in the keypad needed replaced. He provided me with a $20 discount. I have used them in the past and every time I have used them they have been excellent to work with. He also oiled the whole unit for the garage door. He was very knowledgable and advised us about oils that we could us in the future. I find them to be very reputable. Their pricing was a little higher than I had hoped for.

Please read above. I can add that I did call another company, but they explained that there would be an added charge of $200 for after hours.

The first technician that showed up didn’t seem very knowledgeable. He might’ve been a new employee. The next day, we had another technician show up. He found out what needed to be done, went to get the part, then replaced everything. He was very knowledgeable, and we were very pleased with that technician.

I called a little after 9 p.m. on 1/10/2013 because the spring on my garage door broke and I could not open the door. I asked if someone could come out the first thing the next morning and informed the dispatcher that I was stuck in my garage. He said he would note that fact and I would get a call sooner rather than later the next morning. I also specifically asked what was the earliest I could expect a call because I wanted a sense of how late for work I was going to be. He said he wasn't sure, but, again, he would make a note that I was locked in and needed service as early as possible. On the morning of 1/11/2013, by 7:45 a.m. I hadn't received a call, so I called and was informed that the technicians don't begin their orders until sometime between 9-10 a.m. I should have been informed of that fact the night before. Rather disappointing to be misled like that. I cancelled the order and went with Hamilton Garage Doors instead.

On Saturday 12/28/12 at 4:45 pm, one of the cables for a double size overhead garage door snapped, leaving the door in the down position. Call was made at 4:50 pm and GD spokeswoman said they could have someone out yet today to fix it but OT charges would apply. Technician called me back shortly and stated he would contact me once again upon finishing the job he was currently doing. Upon nearing my residence he called once more and I was able to leave a neighbor's holiday party and I met him at my residence. He had tools and parts needed and completed the repair in approximately 25 minutes, using a bigger and hopefully stronger cable. Technician knew his job and performed it perfectly.

I called the company at 4:30 pm on the above date and expected the company to schedule an appointment. But insread the tech said I will be there within the hour. He was at my home in 30 minutes. He diagnosed the problem and had it repaired in 40 minutes. He was very professional and quick.

The spring on our electric garage door opener broke over Labor day weekend and I wasn't able to open the door manually. Our usual garage door service was closed for the holiday and no one was available. I called Garage Doors of Indianapolis on Labor Day, and their technician arrived within two hours. He installed a new spring and inspected the other hardware related to the door, and resolved our issue within about 45 minutes of his arrival. He did charge a higher holiday rate, which I fully expected. He was very courteous, and I could not have expected better service than we got.

They were punctual and very efficient. They installed the opener, adjusted it and explained its operation to me. I was very pleased with the service and would definieyl use them again

Our garage door was damaged in an ice storm a few years ago. We were able to fix it and did not have further issues until it closed on a bag of mulch. We contacted Garage Doors of Indianapolis to purchase a new garage door. The price above was for the new garage door, track, rollers, and springs, and it also included installation. It did not include a new motor/opener. Our new garage door is much higher quality than the damaged one. We did compare prices with several companies and found Garage Door of Indianapolis to be the lowest. We had a positive experience and would use that company again.

The experience was good. The Technician called and scheduled the appointment, he came and did the service requested for Garage. He handed the receipt and asked for payment, when i told him that i bought the deal from Angies list , he gave me the receipt to sign and left.May be a miscommunication on their part

The technician came at the scheduled time and was very friendly. He was able to remove the old motor and install the new motor in less than an hour. He thoroughly explained how it worked and answered all of my questions. He even came back an hour later when I mistakenly thought it wasn't working. There was a leaf on the garage door that was hitting the sensor and preventing it from closing. I would definitely use this company again.

I've never had a bad experience with these people. They are very professional from the dispatchers to the technicians. In this case we weren't sure what the problem was because it was intermittent. The technician went over every inch of the wiring to check it first. Even after figuring out the problem was a bad capacitor, he went on to fix some other minor issues I hadn't even noticed.

I was pleased with the work, but shocked by the price. I had to call them to set up an appointment, they said they did try.

Technician was polite. He arrived at our house as arranged on the phone. Completed the task and was gone.

Garage door very loud despite recently lubricating it. Scheduled the tune up. The technician was helpful and professional. He determined the problem, was able to take care of it within the scope of a tune up, and gave me a heads up that future issues may arise simple due to the age of the door opener... but that he was not seeing any of those signs yet. I appreciated that he did not try to sell me something on top of the purchased tune up.

After trying to fix the situation on our own, we contacted this company. I looked for a garage door company that offered same day service. When I called, I mentioned that was important to me. I was told I would be called soon about the estimated time of arrival. I also discussed the fact I was an Angie's list member and the gentleman told me about the discounts and also suggested other places to look for coupons. This was very helpful! About a half hour later I was called and told 1 - 3:00 pm. which I said was fine. At 2:30 I was called and told it would be closer to 4 or 4:30. i quickly called my husband to see if he could come home from work early because I had another commitment to leave for at 4:00. My husband was able to come home and the service was performed. We were very happy with the company, the price, and the end result, however, the punctuality was just fair. If I need to use this company again in the future, I would try to nail down the time of arrival.

Garage Doors of Indianapolis installed a new garage door 5 years ago and the "unit" itself was 10 years old. I noticed the garage door was very noisey and could see the chain was hanging much looser than normal. I went to Angie's List and checked out the offer for Garage Doors of Indpls, then attempted to go on line to find the companys web site to see if there were different coupons. When I googled "Garage Doors of Indpls" - Precision Garage Doors of Indpls came up - this is not the same company -I learned later they bought the URL. I called Precision and asked if they were affliated with Garage Doors of Indianapolis, and the woman answering the phone reluctantly told me no, but assured me they could solve my problem. I told the young lady I would check out Precision Garage Doors of Indpls on Angie's List and get back with her. Bottom line, I called the "original" Garage Doors of Indpls and I now have a perfectly functioning garage door and am very pleased.

Everything turned out well. They honored the coupon, and they did a great job. While they were here, they did some other work for me as well and seemed to be very reasonably priced.
