Garage Doors of Indianapolis

It went great. Great service. Right on time. We were able to schedule it on a weekend. They have the best price. They were able to order a custom door that I liked.

Originally I called because of problems with the garage door not closing reliably. Tom and Kevin did an outstanding job! They were on time, polite and very diligent in their work. They adjusted the electric eye safety and then checked everything on the garage door and explained things to me as they worked. Tom found a worn cable and a partially broken hinge; either of which would have caused serious problems had they not found and replaced those items. They adjusted the chain and lubricated all the wheels and hinges on the door and then closed and opened it several times to make sure it was working properly. Thanks, Great Job!

Granted, it was during the polar vortex, but I think this highly rated-by-Angie's List company could do better.We chose the mid-priced garage door (good-better-best) that was presented to us, and chose the style of door we wanted in white. We were told the style was in stock, not a special order. This turned out not to be the case. So, in other words, Garage Doors of Indianapolis really only had a basic white door in one style at their ready. We couldn't wait two-three weeks for the one we really wanted to come in -- it was the polar vortex after all. First problem I noticed about 6 weeks after installation was that two of the door panels had not even been bolted on -- left off completely. The company returned and fixed that at no charge, but it was obvious the installers were in a big hurry to have left that undone. About three months after the door was installed, the door opener stopped working. Their repairman came out and fixed it at a cost of about $100 to us (naturally, it was already out of warranty!). He also reattached the sagging trim around the new door and cleaned up the multitude of nails, screws and bolts that the original installers left outside and in my garage.

The work appeared to go smoothly. Afterwards, however, two surprises came to my attention that should not have. 1.) The safety beam was mounted on the door track. That was fine, however, it was positioned where I could not open a cabinet door that was located adjacent to the track. I have since relocated the cabinet. This problem should have been pointed out to me. 2) The most important problem is that the garage door electronics located in my cars is not compatible with the new garage door opener. I called the company and was advised unsympathetically that they could take care of it and I would be charged a house call in the process. They didn't say so but I later discovered the "fix" involves a $30 piece of equipment. I feel this treatment was completely inappropriate.

Didn't try to upsell. Went great. Made it work nice. Showed up on time.

They did a great job installing the openers and we love how quite the belt system sounds. We were very satisfied with their services and the quality of their product they installed.

Service tech arrived to check the garage door opener, it was difficult to close the door. He tried the button numerous times and adjust a wire on the opener. He said the circuit board needed to be replaced, but the opener wasn't good and it would be better to buy a new one. Their company had installed this one in 2010, so I was upset that it needed to be replaced so soon and was of poor quality. He wrote an estimate to repair and to replace, and I said we would think about it. The next day I called him with questions. Someone had said it could be the sensor lights were dirty. He said he was sure that was not the problem, though he hadn't checked them. Later that day I wipe them off, and the door opener is working properly. That was a week ago. It was disappointing that they sold us a product they now feel is inferior, and they didn't do a full assessment of the device.

I was elated with the speed with which they responded to my call and the professional work that was completed in a short time. I was stuck with the door unable to be raised and my car inside. I was needed to take my grandson to doctor for surgery follow up. They came within an hour(which was charged as premier service as agreed upon) but how quickly they responded was greatly appreciated as was how efficiently he completed the work. I will positively use this company again if and when the need arises.

On a hunch, I called to confirm that adjustment of the operator chain was included in the price. The immediate answer was No. I pointed out that it seemed like a bait and switch to offer this maintenance special and exclude adjustment of the chain, and that I was not at all interested in the promotion if it did not include the chain adjustment. The call router promised a next day call to provide the answer . Several days later, I called again and was again told No. This time I asked to speak with a supervisor, at which time the call router placed me on hold and then returned to apologize and tell me that yes, indeed, the promotion included chain adjustment. All went well after that. I question why I had to make these calls to receive this service.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They were very good. It took a little longer than 2 days because they had to send away to get the special seal to stick to the bottom of the door. He did a good job. I ended up paying almost $200 extra. I didn't compare their price so I don't know if it was a better price. The price was just okay.

They answered the request for service call on the same day. They failed to accept any responsibility for a poor install in the first place and made no appologies for my dented door. This was really poor after sales customer service. I will not use them again. Angies list people please share this bad review with them that way they know how unhappy this ex-customer was.

Prompt, professional, will use them again if I need service on garage door.

They did what they were called upon to do. Where they failed was in not calling to say they would be later than the appointed time window (I called them and learned they would be late rather than vice versa) and then arriving 1.5 hours past the original appointment end time without compensation for my inconvenience. I understand that techs get held up on other jobs but that's not the customer's problem. This gets them a "D" for responsiveness and an "F" for punctuality

I contacted them early afternoon and Brian showed up a couple hours later. We were very happy to have the same day turnaround on the maintenance call. Brian was very friendly and easy to work with. After he performed the maintenance he replaced the weather stripping and secured the exterior siding. He then showed me the wear on the rollers and the cracked hinges. Since our door is nearly 10 years old I decided to go ahead and replace the hardware. The door now opens and closes very smoothly and has a tighter fit to the frame when fully closed. Overall I was very satisfied with the work that was done.

They came out the same day and they fixed the problem. I guess the only thing was the $99 was to get them out the same day, they had additional fee once they came out here if there was more hands on maintenance. That was the way the ad was presented on Angie's List by Angie's List. It was additional $79 to replace a broken switch.

During this very cold winter my garage door opener worked intermittently. They came out several times to try to fix it, but to no avail. I finally decided to replace the opener since mine was almost 20 years old. I had wanted to wait until the weather was more cooperative. All of my plumbing is in the garage and I wanted to avoid having the door open as little as possible. But I bit the bullet and ordered a new one. They did an excellent job installing the new one and kept the opening of the door to a minimum. They even gave me credit on the new sensors they had installed on one of their previous repair trips. And I love my new opener. They are a great company to work with.

They did a very nice job! They were very knowledgeable people and gave us choices. We even got a discounted price on it. Actually, I think we had a coupon of some sort and they gave us the discount. It had a little bit of a problem going up far enough. I called them and bang, immediately they came out and readjusted the thing. It has been fine ever since. They came back immediately when I called and told them that the thing wasn't going up as high as I thought it should and needed to go up a little further. They came out and readjusted it and it was fine. They were very efficient about handling it and putting it together for us. The price was very good, it was the best price we got. Another company came out and gave us an estimate for a new door, but it way higher than theirs. The quality of the door we wound up getting was much better and for a lower price. They told us that they will be here on a certain day to put the new door in and the man was here that day to put the door in. This man has been doing this work for something like 27 years and he would probably qualify as an expert in the field as far as garage doors are concerned. The preciseness with which they worked and measured things and checked was good.

Met the sales manager Ryan Andrews at the home show and he proposed a solution to some doors that were warping that were installed by a different Indianapolis garage door company. All of Ryan's communications following the home show were prompt and never deviated from what he had told me at the show. Installers were professional and even came back to install a new outside keypad and only charged for material. Very pleased overall, door look fantastic. Only recommendation is when they set up appointments they only set the day until the morning of the appointment and then they call to lock in a time. It might be better if they could commit to morning or afternoon prior to the appointment day and then narrow it down further the day of.

Used provider previously. Everything went well starting with the service desk, dispatch person and installation technician. All acted very professionally and work was accomplished in a timely manner.
