Description of Work: I called in about noon and asked for a quote to have 2,000 documents folded -- they were already printed so the quote was to "collate (sort in order) 2 pages and fold them" with their machines. Even though they were supposed to call me back with the quote within 1 hour, I had to call them over 6 hours later for the quote. They quoted over $540 for the job. I asked for clarification because I didn't think this could possibly be correct and she said to sort and fold them it will be over $540. I only got the quote because I thought it would be faster than going by hand and certainly didn't expect something like that to cost more than $50-$100, but I was wrong. The lady said the collating was about $400 of the cost and the folding was about $140. I usually hire someone to collate, fold and stuff, label and seal the envelopes for about $150 for 2,000 pieces and another professional printer I use will do all of that, too, for less than Kinko's wanted to charge me just to collate and fold.

 + -1 moreOur department at work put together a business-card size phone contact sheet with everyone's contact information, and I was looking to get these laminated without costing a bundle. I took them to FedEx/Kinko's to see what their charge would be, and they offered me several options. If I chose to do the trimming from one of their customer workstations, I could save almost 1/2 the cost. He demonstrated what I needed, so I was able to get all laminated and trimmed at a very reasonable price. Plus, at this price, I won't hesitate to do the same again, if the information on our cards changes and we need new ones.
