Rick Luna is smart and appears to know what he is doing. On FRIDAY, August 2, I got his name and business off of Angie's list (for members) and talked to him. On SATURDAY, August 3, he talked with me and Best Buy Install. Consultant about requirements for the washer/dryer installation. He laid out plan and costs in front of me with the intent to do the work on Monday, Aug 5. I wrote a check for $300 on Sat, Aug 3, he deposited it on Sun, Aug 4, and it cleared Mon Aug 5. . The balance due on completion would be $400-425.. He said he would complete it on Monday. On MONDAY he texted that he would be late because he had to take his son to the first day of school. He never showed up and no explanation. On TUESDAY at 8:22 am, he texted he wanted to come at 10 am. At 10:20 he texted that he was at Lowes getting material. Some time after that I got a phone call from him that he was at the bank and he couldn't get access to money to pay for materials. Around 12:30 pm WEDNESDAY, he texted he would come in later that day. On my questioning, he said his kids are sick at home and he can't come over until his wife gets back from work at 5 pm. He said he wanted to make it right with me because he is just getting back to work after being off for 2 months. He promised to get the work done. At 7 pm WED he asked me to meet him on Thursday at Lowes. On THURSDAY, he never showed up at Lowes. After several emails from me, he said: "i'm at riley hospital I don't have good signal my son fever shot up over 100 and this phone is the last thing ive even thought of." FRIDAY I decide that this is probably a scam and will miss the Saturday 8/10 Install appointment. I look up Family Appliance on Angie's List (for members), I cannot find the name any longer. I verify the scam on Yelp reviews, Google reviews, and BBB. Then I call Angie's List.
Description of Work: Goal -- set up electrical, water, and closet for Saturday install of washer/dryer combo
