F I S H Painting & Drywall

This is my second experience with FISH. They are very responsive and the quality is excellent. I will definitely be using them in the future and would recommend them without reservation.

They did everything they were supposed to do and the workers were friendly and very efficient. A very good crew of workers. I would not hesitate to hire this company again for any future projects I may have. I AM VERY PLEASED

Fish Painting & Drywall, especially owner Denny Morrison, was a pleasure to work with. They redid one of my properties' entire ceiling. Getting rid of the dated popcorn texturing and redid with a nice, modern finish and paint job. The job turned out great and I will definitely be going back to Fish for my future drywall & painting needs.

Dennie and his team did quite a bit of work at my house. Overall we worked through everything and the work was great. His carpenter, painters, and drywall crews went above and beyond what I had asked. The price was good, as I had quite a bit of work. Really great experience with Dennie and his team, I will definitely be doing work with them again.

Great! Andy painted cabinets in our den. They were old, dark seventies style cabinets. My husband and I could not get over the transformation. We were excited to begin with but did not expect them to turn out like they did. The detail of the painting, trim and shelves was just beautiful. The seventies cabinets are gone. There isn’t even a hint that they were there. We were very impressed. We would definitely hire them again. Andy was very thorough and tidy. He answered all of my questions. FISH was very professional. We would use them again in a heartbeat! We are so happy we found them.

They did an amazing job!! Looked better than we imagined! All their employees were very polite and thorough from start to finish .

F I S H Painting & Drywall did a great job on getting my 2 upstairs bathrooms’ back up to snuff. I had been wanting to get the drywall fixed around our 2 bathtubs and standup shower as it had start chipping and coming off around the tops of the enclosures. On a scale of 1 to 10, my bathrooms were a 4, they were in desperate need of help. I end up talking to 4 vendors about the job and settled on Dennie/ F I S H Painting & Drywall. The main selling point, he had 40 yrs of doing this type of work. I needed someone to take the extra step and had the knowledge to do it right, since it was getting pretty bad. You can hire cheap, but that is what you get most times. I needed experience in this case. I ended up needing a ton of nail pops fixed in 4 bedrooms and the 2 bathrooms. They redid bad tape joints in our small bathroom and in our ceilings. They were also able to retexture the ceilings to match the existing too, which I was definitely wanting. And then I had just the 2 bathrooms painted top to bottom for now. I am concentrating more on just the bathrooms first. They were fast to get to my job when I told them I was ready. I thought it was going to be a couple of weeks and they had a couple of people that needed to rearrange schedules, so I got bumped up. They suggested a satin paint for bathrooms and the proper ceiling paint for a bathroom too. I did have some additional nail pops that needed to be addressed after everything was done, due to the walls being white before. Sometimes it is hard to catch them all on a white wall. Dennie came out and fixed them. He even found extra ones that I did not see too. I appreciate him taking the time to come out and do a double take on everything. Now I can sleep better at night. I feel that I have gotten off to a good start getting the house started.

Fish Drywall’s quote was 30% lower than the other quotes we received so we decided to go with them since they had many good reviews on Angie’s List. We had some major issues in the finishing of the drywall. When I called Dennie to tell him that we had issues with the joints he went off on me on the phone and started yelling “are you a drywall finisher”and told me I did not know what I was talking about. He later called back and apologized for his behavior. He came to our home the next day he stated that we had a reason to be unsatisfied because the joints were completely over sanded. You could see the depressions in the wall from 10 feet away. I tried to tell him this on the phone the evening before but he would not listen. He did come and put more mud on the joints and it helped hide some of the issues but not completely. I also found another issue in one of the corners. The drywall hanging crew added a stud in the corner that overhung the bottom plate by .5”. This caused the wall to bow badly in that area and would have made it impossible to install baseboard. He blamed me for the framing and said that his guy just aligned it with bad framing. I was home all day when the hanging crew was there and I told them to come and get me if they needed any additional studs added. They did not do that they added it themselves. He did cut it out and replace it but he complained the whole time. During all these repairs he kept asking for more payment and I did not feel comfortable giving any more money until the job was complete. I gave him 50% of the total at the beginning. The final night he was at our home his temper flared again because I was questioning the joints. It appeared they were still showing defects. He got all upset and started saying that I needed to pay him and there’s nothing else he could do. I told him that I would pay when the job was done correctly. He stormed out of the house and said I would be hearing from his attorney. After he left, I applied another coat of primer to the joints and it covered the defects. It was the chalk he used in the mud bleeding through the primer. I was planning to let the primer dry for 24 hours to make sure then I was going to pay him the remaining balance. The following afternoon I received a call from a debt collection company out of Florida saying I was going to be sued by Fish Drywall and Painting because I had a balance that was overdue since January. I told the person that they had just finished the job the evening prior. I had to work through this company to settle the payment which I did not feel I should have had to do. Bottom line, Dennie has a bad temper especially when you question anything. I tried to call him after the first coat was applied because it did not look right and he kept saying don’t worry everything will be ok and would not come and look at it. When things turned bad he just kept loosing his temper. Please think twice before hiring this company.

They did a great job. The work was done when agreed to, and completed in a very professional manner.

F.I.S.H. is phenomenal!!! Their work was fantastic, but let me start with what separates them...customer service! In an era where calls are not returned and people don't show up for service appointments, FISH was stellar in proactive communication and working with me on a critical need, even though their schedule was full. They fit me in, talked me through all the work, showed me how I can do some of this in the future my self, if needed, and are awesome people. They treated my home and family with respect and it was a great two day partnership. I am so blessed to have found this business and be able to share so others find them as the right painting and drywall company. We originally scheduled to have our ceiling crack repaired; however, when Dennie Morrison came and saw that chunks of large heavy plaster had fallen, he immediately decided the whole ceiling was eventually going to fall so he moved us up on schedule. He put down heavy tarps to protect our carpet and removed hanging plaster pieces and had workers at our house after only one weekend to remove all the old plaster. His quick response was much appreciated as living with our ceiling hanging in several places was not pleasant. We are happy with all the removal and repair work that was done.

Very professional crew, hard-working, did an excellent job on everything! We had a dog that had significantly damaged areas in our kitchen (chewing) including trim woodwork and on the wood encasing our kitchen island. It now looks amazing, brand new, better than its original new condition! Highly recommend this company!

Dennie was prompt and easy to deal with. He was prompt and communicated if there would be a delay clearing easily any potential misunderstandings. I will certainly call him for any further painting and/or drywall needs.

So the teams that Fish used are Superior!! As original home owners we were exceptionally impressed with the quality of work done and exceptional attention to detail. With the drywall we had several spots that needed major repairs/ replacement (in bathroom, at a ceiling joint, in a hall closet), and minor repairs (nail pops, minor retapes, etc.) For the texturing that was needed it was a spot on match which I know is hard to do but Andy (drywall installer) took the time to test and then retest to ensure a proper match. The texturing that he was able to match was so identical we did not have to paint the ceiling which would have cost us extra paint and time on this project. The painting was excellent and we were excited about the colors and how well they blended with the flooring. There was a little miscommunication about a few things but between Dennie and Anna we were able to work things out to everyone's satisfaction. I know no company is perfect but I can attest to the goal that FISH painting strives for and know that if I need them again they will not disappoint. I will say it was very nice to have only one company do all the work so that if there was any issues there was only one number to call. If you are looking for a top notch team for drywall and painting from the owner, to the office manager, to the drywall team, and even the painters then Fish painting is the company I recommend!!

Received quote in timely manner. Price was much lower than other quotes we received. Scope of work was larger than expected, however, final price was still very reasonable! Work was excellent! The room looks brand new! They did an amazing job keeping dust to a minimum. Job site was cleaned beautifully after the job was done! I was so pleased I recommended FISH to my mother who also had them come complete a job she was working on. She also loved their work and is having them come back to do more!

The job went well. The project was done on time and budget. We were happy with the quality of the work. Andy the carpenter provided helpful suggestions and worked hard to give us the look we were looking for. We always knew what time the guys were going to start work everyday and everyone was respectful of our home. FISH also recommended a great electrician. We hope to use FISH again for future projects.
