Stokes was unreliable in scheduling and did not get the job done after 3 scheduled appointments.

Polite and prompt. Did what I wanted done. Satisfied with their work as best I can see from the ground. I do not know if the work was reasonably priced, as I do not have a comparison.

This company was very responsive. The person I worked with was James. He was extremely polite. He did a great job of inspecting my chimney and really assessing what needed to be done (he came back twice to make sure that the way he had planned to complete the job was the best and most cost-efficient way to do it). I got several bids for this job. This company was the only one that discussed various options with me, and recommended the least cost option, even though they offered a much more extensive approach as well. The guys that did the work took before and after pictures. The chimney appears to have be in great shape now. It was very refreshing to work with a company that actually seemed to care about the cost/benefit calculations when giving me a bid.

They were superb. I could not ask for anything better. I paid them for what they did, and the prices were fair.

The workers were very professional. The work was done on time & the chimney looks great.

Gentlemen were on time, very courteous and clean. They laid down drop cloths and covered their shoes. They answered my questions. The whole cleaning took about 1/2 hour. The work order asked that they check the outside of the chimney for moisture problems. We talked about the possible cause. Now I wish they would have checked outside physically just to double check.

They were courteous, quick and seemed to be thorough. They missed the first appointment due to a truck breakdown, but called to reschedule and gave me a nice discount for the inconvenience. They also gave me some tips on some simple maintenance items that I can do myself prior to an upcoming house inspection.

We had several conflicting reports from other companies on the state of our chimney - the flashing needed replaced, no it didn't, the crown was gone, the crown was fine, the inside was deteriorating, no it wasn't, it needs tuckpointing, nope. We didn't know what to do. Stokes came out exactly when they said they would and took a look - they said the inside of the chimney was deteriorating but they don't do liners. They also took down the antenna and said the outside cracks were small and sealed them for us - and then charged nothing. They told us our chimney had some small deterioration but nothing major. We will get a liner installed and I wish they could do it - they are honest and didn't try to estimate for a lot of work we don't need. I just wish they had let us pay for the stuff they did.

Ely Stokes came out to inspect and provide an estimate. They came out at the scheduled time and fixed the problem on the spot, at NO CHARGE. Another company who came out the day before took a week to provide me with an estimate and then gave me an estimate of $650 to do the work. I certainly believe Ely Stokes is the more honest and professional and will use them in the future.

Ely Stokes waterproofed our chimney and was very responsive when I called to ask some follow-up questions. They are very knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend them to anyone.

The two guys that came out were on time. They were very nice and professional. They explained to me that what I needed done was beyond their skill but they offered a quick fix for only $20 to hold me over for the time being. I was very pleased with their honesty and reasonable prices.

He didn't look for another job to do that we didn't need. He charged a very reasonable price. He was punctuale. They were very professional and knew what they were doing.

2 representatives were very nice and polite. Only charged me $85.00 instead of the $125.00 quoted, as they said my chimney was not very dirty. Whole job only took 10 minutes.

James from Ely Stokes told us that our chimney was in good condition and had been well maintained and did not need cleaning at all. He did identify mildew on the exterior brick and recommended water proofing to prevent further deterioration of the mortar and prevent water leaks. He provided a very reasonable estimate and said that he would put our house on the list for service when the weather got warm enough. Ely Stokes worked with our schedule since we were only in town for a very short time. When our appointment had to be cancelled due to snow, they made sure to fit us in two days later. James was prompt and courteous and took care not to get our new carpet dirty. We were very pleased with this vendor selection.

Placed call for info on chimney inspection and sweep. Left message, they returned call promptly. Decided to go with another company.

We had to reschedule because of the weather. We will probably have to reschedule again since we are expecting 4-8 inches of snow. Communication is great--they always respond to messages. They called well in advance of the appointment time to say that the weather did not permit them to perform the inspection.

ALL WORK WAS PERFORMED IN A TIMELY MANNER, AND GREATLY EXTENDED THE LIFE OF THE 40-YEAR-OLD CHIMNEY.

I APPRECIATED THE HONESTY FROM THE SERVICE PROVIDER.

THE PROBLEM OCCURRED ON A SATURDAY AND ELY STOKES SENT SOMEONE OUT THE SAME DAY. THE GUYS WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL, EXPLAINING THEMSELVES EVERY STEP OF THE PROCESS.

I AM IN THE PROCESS OF SELLING MY HOME AND NEEDED TO HAVE MY CHIMNEY CLEANED IN VERY SHORT ORDER. STEPHANIE WAS VERY PROMPT IN RETURNING MY INITIAL CALL AND IN SCHEDULING THE SERVICE. ON THE DATE OF SERVICE THE REPRESENTATIVE ARRIVED WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME AND WAS PROFESSIONAL/RESPECTFUL OF MY HOME. THIS PERSON WAS ALSO HELPFUL IN POINTING OUT SOME MINOR TUCK POINTING NEEDED IN THE FIREPLACE AND I WAS ABLE TO SCHEDULE THAT RIGHT AWAY. ELY STOKES WILL RETURN TO MY HOME ON 11/05/05 AND SO FAR MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN GOOD.

DID A GREAT JOB - QUICK, CLEAN, AND OFFERED GOOD ADVICE FOR USE OF FIREPLACE.

VERY REASONABLE. HAS CHARGED ME $75 WHEN OTHERS HAVE WANTED $1000. VERY FAIR, HONEST, AND RESPONSIVE.

WILL CALL WHEN OUR CHIMNEY NEEDS CLEANED.

GREAT EXPERIENCE, THE SERVICEMAN WAS EXCELLENT, GAVE ME AN HONEST OPINION THAT THE CHIMNEY DID NOT REQUIRE A CLEANING, BUT I HAD IT DONE ANYWAY. DID GOOD WORK.

DID NOT RESPOND TO EMAIL QUERY, BUT PROMPT RESPONSE TO PHONE CALL AND WERE ON TIME WITH ALL APPOINTMENTS FOR ESTIMATES AND THE WORK PERFORMED. EMPLOYEES SEEMED KNOWLEDGEABLE AND COURTEOUS.
