Very good. They did a good job of cleaning with minimal mess to the rest of the room. Without my asking, they offered to re-attach the chimney cap and discussed some other maintenance options such as tuck pointing the chimey. As a point of reference for punctuality grade: they were late, but called about 1 1/2 hours ahead to say so, and in this particular case their being late was not a problem for me.

Had trouble getting them there to give me the estimate but they were prompt in doing the job on the day I requested. It was moving day at my house so they had to contend with a moving van in the driveway and the usual moving craziness. Workers did not complain-just did the work politely and neatly.

The friendly employees arrived on time and quickly fixed the damper. They checked the chimney and determined it was still clean and did not require cleaning yet. They then surprised me by not charging anything for the visit.

They did stellar work for me, as usual. The price was a little high in one area, but when they gave me the initial quote it looked like I would need to have two dampers replaced, and I ended up only needing one replaced.

Even though it was their busy season, they came out the same day I called and was fixed within the week.

They were very helpful and cleaned up well after themselves. They provided two ways of fixing a crack in the cement chimney cap; one was a temporary fix that provided a 15-year warranty and the permanent fix would ensure that it never happened again. Very professional and courteous. There was a mix-up over the appointment time (I swear it was 2 days before they said it was), so I had a bit of wasted time waiting for them, but I have to say that I don't always have a perfect memory.

They checked the chimney and said it was clean and not coming from there. They checked my roof and also said it was okay and just cleared a bird cover that was blocked. They said the smoke might have been from a wind that blew it into the garage. They were at my house for about 30 minutes and said there was no charge.

They scheduled us about 10 days out (around the holidays) and arrived within an hour of estimated time. Did the job within about 45 minutes. Were very nice and informative.

Extremely well. Thought the "glowing embers" in the built-in gas fireplace looked exactly like attic insulation. We asked them to look into it and give us an overall assessment of the operation of the unit. They went on the roof, looked down the chimney, looked in the house and went into the attic to check the chimney structure. They were here about an hour and reassured us that the chimney was safe but could use a cleaning.

They inspected the chimney from inside and also from the roof. He told me the chimney didn't need any cleaning, how to make sure it drew well, and to call in the spring about repairing small cracks in the concrete along the top. And he didn't charge me anything!

We originally called Ely Stokes to sweep the chimney and install a chimney cap. Upon the inspection, the technician advised that no sweeping was necessary at this time. Installed a 'bird-cage' type cover over our non-standard size chimney. The technician also answered questions on when to schedule a chimney sweep.

Stephanie called to let us know that Jimmie could arrive earlier than the scheduled appointment. He was prompt, did a great job, then gave us advice as to the proper technique for painting the interior of the firebox. Even gave us the information about the appropriate paint and where to shop for it. Great job.

THEY HAD BEEN OUT TO OUR HOUSE NUMEROUS TIMES IN PAST YEARS. WHEN I MENTIONED THIS I WAS TOLD THEY HAD "GOTTEN SMALLER".

I called to have our two fireplaces cleaned Two men came out to my house. They were very polite and professional. They took one look at both fireplaces and told me they did not need to be cleaned this season. There was no charge. I will definitely call Ely Stokes next season when it is time to have a cleaning.

The roofing company told me that the chimney needed tuckpointing in places. They, of course, wanted to recommend me to ''their friend in the business.'' I called Ely Stokes instead. They came out immediately and said that only a few bricks were involved. They returned and did the work a few weeks later.

The crew arrived as promised and left the area cleaner than it was. They chimney cap was old, but it could go several more years before it needs to be replaced.

Found out that they couldn't just put the cap back on because it was rusted through. Installed new cap.

New home had settled and two places required mortar repair. I received quotes as high as $750 from other companies to do the work. I had a very hard time getting masonry companies to return my calls or to schedule the work. Ely Stokes Fireplace came out when they promised and scheduled the work quickly. They showed up on time and were done in a very short time. The mortar was a custom color and they were more than willing to go out of their way to get the right color for the job. I was pleased with every aspect of the job.

Workers were efficient, clean and quiet. Work was completed in approximately 1 hour.

Very professional. Good work for a good price in a good timeframe.
