He was very professional and reasonable in his cost.

The weather prevented them from doing that. I haven?t heard from them since and I haven?t called them either.

Their price was very good. It took sometime for them to come out and give a quote for us.

He was extremely knowledgeable. He was able to look at both our chimneys as we had two fireplaces. He told us its status and what we should look for in the future. He also reassured us about the interior of the chimneys.

We just moved into a new home, and we thought that we should have the chimney cleaned before using it. Much to our surprise, the gentleman inspecting the chimney said it was unsafe to use. He admitted up front that he could try to sell us something to correct the problem, but he adamantly told us that if it were his fireplace he would not use it. While we have not used the fireplace, I will contact Scully's--a business which installs fireplaces--to see if there is any chance for a repair. I can't just accept it can't be repaired, but I was grateful for his frank advice. Who knows what catastrophe we might have avoided.

Upon inspection, the sweep noted 2 rows of loose masonry in the fire box. He let me know immediately, as he was concerned that the cleaning might dislodge the masonry. I gave him the go-ahead to clean, figuring that it needed repaired one way or another. He completed the cleaning without incident, showed me the loose masonry, and advised us not burn a hot fire until the firebox until it was repaired. He also re-grouted the floor of the firebox, at no additional charge.

Went very well from exam & estimate to repair. Especially helpful with matching new brick with existing brick. Neat & orderly repair. Now looks much better and fireplace works fine.

He was doing a neighbors chimney, I just went over there and said "could you look at mine" other than that he did a good job. He was responsive. I would use them in future if needed.

The chimney looks great; they were able to match the brick better than we thought they would since the house was built in the early 1970's, and the brick is a yellow-buff color. The clean-up was thorough-- nothing left behind on the roof or ground. A few weeks later, the chimney cap blew off in a high wind condition, and the original workers came out and replaced it at no charge. They even seemed glad to do it, and remarked favorably on our new roofing job. I would recommend Ely Stokes to anyone needing chimney work of any kind. The cost was less than we expected and the work was excellent. I neglected to include the fact that the work was in January, and the weather was cold; it had to be pretty uncomfortable on the roof!

The work went well. The rep was clean himself and in uniform. He carefully spread protection over the gas logs in the fireplace as well as on the floor in front of the fireplace. He used a vacuum and a snake brush up inside the chimney. There was hardly no mess or debris. What there was was carefully cleaned up. He inspected the fireplace and flue and made sure that the gas logs worked. The work is guaranteed for one year.

The two guys that came were SUPER! They let me know what the problem was and also gave advice on other chimney issues that I have been dealing with for 5 years. They inspected the fireplace and chimney. No charge since it was just an inspection, but they went above and beyond in assessing the situation.
