Ely Stokes Inc. Chimney, Fireplace & Masonry

I contacted Ely Stokes based on the great reviews and was given an appointment time for the next day. John showed up in the time window and did a great job. He explained what he was doing while he was working. He inspected the chimney cap and showed me pictures of areas of concern. No mess, 35 minutes later, he was finished. I would use them again. They were one of several sub-contractors on this project which was covered by insurance. They explained exactly what needed to be done and performed the work in a timely manner. They also explained proper maintenance necessary due to upgraded components.

This company was prompt and courteous. Very professional staff on the phone to schedule the appointment and in person performing the service. We are very happy with this company.

They crew that showed up both times, once to evaluate what I needed and when they returened to install the correct chimeny cap were great. They fought off a mad mother squirell and three babies who really didn't want to give up their warm home, lol. I plan on using them this spring to come out and replace my chimney pan and do some grout work on my exterior chimney.

He showed up on time and did a nice job with the sweep. I have not heard back about the estimate about the masonry repairs, so I have not taken advantage of the credit. They were fine to schedule with. The technician did a nice job with the clean up during and after the job as well.

It went fine. They have flexible schedules and they were able to set an appointment when we needed it.

It went very well. I only spent what was on the Big Deal. They advised me to have little bit of work done that would cost another $ 130 and we haven't had that done yet or planning to. They gave me exactly what I was hoping to get and were very quick and courteous and felt like we got a pretty good deal. I am planning to use them in the future.

They are wonderful.. Service men on time and professional. They were both very comforting during my frantice search for the fireplace key.

Went very well. Said they would be there between 9-10am. Showed up at about 9:20, sweep took about 30 minutes. Very clean and professional, left no mess. Would definitely hire them again.

Chimney was cleaned and animal cage topper was installed. Recommendations made to maintain the chimney.

It turned out very well. They left everything very clean. They came out to do the work a couple of days after I purchased the big deal.

I purchased the Big Deal for a chimney sweep. They contacted me immediately and scheduled an appointment for the next day. The technician was running behind and when I called to see if they were still coming the receptionist apologized and said that they didn't have my telephone number (sometimes this doesn't come through on the deals evidently) The technician was efficient and took measurements so that we could get a price for them to put in gas logs. Our fireplace looks much better. All total, he was here for about 30 minutes. Will use again for our gas log installation.

The service provided was fine. They are good. They have quick service and detailed work.

The technician was very professional. He was sure to keep my carpet clean when going in and out of the house and living room. He paid attention to detail. He also taught me how to properly use my fireplace and notified me of any safety concerns. I can now use my fireplace without worry! Highly recommend.

I have used them before over the years. They are very clean and quiet when they come to my home.

Scheduling was fast and easy. On the day of the scheduled service, they were running behind schedule. They didn't call to tell me they were running behind, but did work around my schedule to ensure that I would be home when they were able to come. Upon arrival, the two men performing the work introduced themselves and were very professional. They performed the work outlined and provided a hand-written report. I have scheduled additional work with them and hope it will be completed with the same professionalism.

It is now September and I still do not have an estimate. I have called intermittently over the months to see what was happening. Occasionally I would get someone to answer the phone, but most of the times I would leave a message (during normal business hours). When someone did answer the phone or return my phone calls (which was not all the time), I would get an apology and a promise to get updated on the status of our desired work. I am yet to receive anything. My last phone call to Ely Stokes was on August 23rd and that was to basically detail out what I have written here, but no one answered the phone and I had to leave a message. I have not heard back from that message. I contacted Ely Stokes due to multiple recommendations, so I am greatly disappointed.

I am always please with Ely Stokes. He has done work for me in the past. He is very thorough and explains his work well. He does good work and cleans up after himself. I trust him and I think that he is just great.

I contacted Ely Stokes in mid-June. A lady answered the phone and I asked her about cleaning my fireplace and chimney. She said they were busy, but someone would contact me either 6/25 or 6/26 to set up a service date. I told her that would be fine. Unfortunately, Ely Stokes have yet to contact me. If they were too busy to take on my work, they should have said so at the time I called. They displayed very poor business practices. UPDATE: This is an update to my original review. After Ely Stokes read the review, they called me and apologized profusely for the poor experience I had with the company. They also offered a large discount if I would give them a chance. Unfortunately, I had already made arrangements with another company. Nevertheless, I was impressed with their followup and concern and I will give them another chance when I need my fireplace and chimney cleaned again.

Overall, we were pleased with the work done. Work was done timely, and as expected. Two years later the chimney looks great and seems to be holding up well.

It went well once we got all the glitches in both of our schedules figured out. It was sometimes a bit hard to reach either us or Ely Stokes due to some miscommunication but that got straightened out and, after getting logs, etc., ordered and in stock, the work went smoothly and quickly. We now have a gas log fireplace and glass doors and it went well. I have used Ely Stokes for several projects over about 15 years and they do excellent work.

On time. Professional. Pleasant. Knowledgeable. Competent. Efficient. Will use this company again.
