The worker that performed the work was nice, social, and went above and beyond with his service. The work was done really fast and was clean. My only complaint would be that they were late and I had to call them to schedule and call them when they weren't at my house between the designated time, otherwise quality service.

The employee who came out was on time (in the first half of the window provided), cheerful, attentive, and knowledgeable. He was extremely thorough in cleaning and informing me on the status of my fireplace. He wore protective wraps on his shoes and laid out a tarp by the fireplace so as to avoid making my house dirty. The previous owner had not really taken care of nor correctly setup the unit. He directed my attention to the incorrectly placed rocks over the gas, the lack of material to create ember glowing effect, and even pointed out the different type of rocks in the unit. He showed me a surface crack in the walling behind the fireplace that even my home inspector had missed that while not dangerous now, could become dangerous if it gets deeper. I will definitely be returning to Ely Stokes when I decide to fix that problem, as well as correct the aesthetics and material placement in the unit.

It was easy to schedule with this company fortunately. I know they are slammed with everyone getting ready for winter. They came when they said they would. They cleaned the chimney and installed a top damper. My living room was smelling smokey due to an old throat damper that wasn't working properly. I had another company from Angie's List come out and they wanted to charge me double for the top damper. They were professional and did not leave a mess behind. I would definitely use their services in the future.

They came out quickly after we had made the appointment. The appointment was really easy to make. The guy that came out was very nice and professional. It only took like 20 minutes. He made some recommendations when I asked. It went well. We compared the price with other people and it seemed to be a good deal. He was very clean. He came in and made sure everything was cleaned up before he left.

Honestly, I have no way of knowing how well the chimney was actually swept, but the insert was much cleaner, and this was a good company to work with.

After some miscommunications, the owner of the company made contact with me to schedule the service. She was very apologetic for the miscommunications. In fact, she gave me a refund of half the price of the service. I felt that was more than generous. The technician arrived at the time specified and was very professional. He found that a bird nest was blocking the vent and that was why my dryer wasn't working as efficiently as it should. I'm very satisfied with this provider.

Technician arrived a little late and immediately told me upon entering my home that I had a problem with the exterior part of the chimney. He cleaned the chimney and took some pictures of the chimney that he felt should be repaired. The cleaning went well. I asked him to send me copies of the pictures as well as a price for the repair. Never heard from the company. Last month sent a message and they still haven't responded. I probably will not be purchasing any deals like this one from Angie's List.

Purchased a Big Deal for a chimney sweep and inspection for $99 and the company agreed to do a second chimney for $99. The provider worked quickly, cleaned up, and wore shoe covers when walking around inside. Would use again.

The contractor showed up and placed a tarp in our living room in order to check and clean our chimney. He then was on the roof to make sure it was in good working order. He did a complete and thorough job. Would use again in the future.

They were scheduled to arrive between 9-10 on the scheduled day. No one showed up or called by 10:30 so I sent an e-mail asking if they were still coming and was told they were on the way. The representative arrived at 11:00 and told me he had no good reason for being late. I asked about how to clean the ashes from the pit because they weren't easily coming out. He told me how to do it, but said there would be an extra charge for him to do it. After he was finished he came in and said the inside of the fireplace was fine, but my chimney was basically falling apart at the top and needed a lot of repair to prevent further damage and replacement of the entire chimney. He told me they would e-mail me an estimate for the repairs and I have never heard from them.

It went very well. John, the representative of Ely Stokes Chimney Sweeps, was on time. He put blue covers over his shoes upon entering in order to keep our floors clean. He also laid down a canvas tarp around our vented gas fireplace and over the rug near the fireplace. John carefully examined every part of the inside of the fireplace. He checked the flue, the mechanism inside the chimney, the gas logs before doing a thorough cleaning of the inside of the chimney. After he completed this task, he went folded up his tarp and removed all of his equipment. He went outside onto the roof to check on the masonry and to see if there was any danger of leaking during a storm. John returned inside and went over all the details -- even showing me pictures of the brick around the chimney and the cap on top of the flue. There was some damage, but considering the age of the house/fireplace (built in 1972-3), it was not as considerable as I had feared. I appreciated the time and care John took to explain all the parts of the fireplace to me, as well as the careful job he did cleaning the fireplace.

The job was completed as scheduled, but I found out the deal did not include cleaning out the debris that had accumulated at the bottom of the chimney and swept out from opening the door that is ion the basement.

We needed two chimney cleanings to close escrow and Ely Stokes was able to come out quickly. All the other chimney cleaners weren't willing to work weekends and took several days to call us back. Ely Stokes was polite, understanding of our urgency, responsive, punctual, and did the job right the first time, without leaving a speck of dirt behind. Explained additional repairs & inspections they could perform if we were interested. They were professional without being pushy. I recommend them.

called one day and had the caps installed the next. Woman who i dealt with to contract and schedule was very nice and got back to me right away. caps looks good and were done for a fair price considering they are literally side by side on the same chimney. did not try to upsell us and was an overall pleasant experience.

My husband said that the guy was able to clean a lot out of our vent. My husband seems satisfied with what he had done. It didn’t take him very long. The first appointment was Monday and he called Friday and asked if he could come Tuesday which was okay with me except I was hoping that cleaning the vent would make it heat. We were not using it and I was disappointed but no more than he put it off a day. He did come on the time that he said he was. He told me he was running late for a couple of hours. Other than that, it went okay. I called Angie’s List, asked for someone for these services and they gave two or three numbers to call. They were the first one I called. He did what I asked him to do. The company’s staffs were polite.

I signed up for coupon January 27,2014. Now it is June 27,2014 and I still do not have a chimney cap. Not impressed.

One stop shop. Did not have to contract out for gas line installation. HUGE savings.

This provider arrived during the scheduled time; performed an initial cleaning and repair services. however, there are more substantive repairs needed on the chimney top and it too a while to get an estimate for those.
