Economy Fence

Poorly, they never showed up on time if they showed up at all. When we would call to find out when they were coming they would never call back. Our salesperson would tell us he'd find out what was going on and never call back. When they finally got the project done they installed the wrong gate. We called at least 5 times and never called back or came back to correct their mistake.

I think they did a good job overall.

Exceptional customer service! From the sales person, Terry, to the 3 man crew who removed the old fencing and erected the new post, and to the two man crew erecting the face boards along with building the gate. Removal of the old fencing was quick and the crew cleaned as they took the fencing down. When they started to set the post they explained the process in detail. I was amazed to watch as they used a level to set EACH post ensuring posts were straight and even. I had already been told the posts needed to set for 48 hours to allow time for the cement to cure. So 48 hours later they showed up with a 2 man team to erect the fence. Jack with this crew was a true professional who knew his trade. They erected 230 linear feet in only 5 hours. Their finished product has resulted in numerous favorable comments from neighbors passing by. Two weeks after completion Terry dropped by to insure we were satisfied with the job. The product quality is only exceeded by courteous service.

Their representative came to our home at 9:30 am on 4/14/07. I called them on 5/04/07 to inquire as to why we had not heard from them. The lady who took my call did not seem to concerned and said she would try to find out who came out for the estimate and have that person call us. As of 5/06/07 we have heard nothing.

Overall, this company has zero credibility. Literally I was promised no less than 6 times they would follow through on either, providing me with a contract to sign, or doing the work. I was orally quoted an estimate of $450 6 weeks ago, but could not get the company to get the job done.

I called for an estimate. They were scheduled to be out on a Monday at 9 am. They had me in the wrong town. We rescheduled for Tuesday at 2 pm. After I rushed home to be here no one showed. I waited on hold for 10 min a half hour after they were to have arrived why they tried to reach someone. My time is much more valuable then that.

After the return visit initiated by their inspector, the finished product was outstanding.

They estimated the damage and got the estimate to the insurance company but never sent the paperwork to us which included additional fence (beyond what was smashed by the tree). I finally called a another store for an estimate and it turns out that they contract through Economy Fence. I told Economy Fence that we never received our initial estimate and had them send another one. The first estimate (which was completely wrong even though we provided a diagram showing where we wanted the fence) mysteriously showed up at our gate while the second estimate was being made. The new estimate was what we wanted and was in line with what we wanted to pay so I set a time for them to come out and measure. They set it for 8:30am on a Tuesday, unfortunately, with the same person that came out before. At 8:25am that morning, Roger called and said that he wasn't informed that he was to be at our house at 8:30am and then told his boss that I wasn't available when I canceled since I had to go to work.

They did an excellent job. They worked with us on the materials and price. Very friendly. They worked quickly and the clean-up was great. We had one small problem and they were out the next day to fix it.

The salesman was very professional doing his estimate. However, I wanted to make some changes in my original fence plans and he was slow in getting back with me. I had planned to take off from work the day they took up the old fence and set the poles. I called the office the day before to confirm their work the next day (Thursday.) So I wouldn't miss work, they agreed to finish work on Saturday. Well Thursday came and they never showed up. Economy Fence never let me know ahead of time. So they did Thursdays work on Friday. When I came home from work on Friday I wasn't very happy with some things I saw. Instead of hauling away the old fence and poles with cement bases the same day they piled on my grass; I take pride in taking care of. I finally put it on the curb Sunday so I could cut my grass. Besides that I found many pieces of wire in my yard and I found about four poles that they had cut off at ground level. My neighbor showed me a wire that caused his tire to go flat.

They had put my fence to close off of my property line and I lost some of my property space. They came out 8 months later to reposition my fence on my property line and install new gates. It was a double gate and it was too far apart and my dog kept on getting out.

I believe it was Marty who came out and measured. Answered all our questions and did a good job explaining things. He even took the time to give us different estimates for ''what ifs'' with various products. It was a bit of the struggle to get the job scheduled, but once it was done, I believe we got a decent product. The fence was built on site with none of the pre-built stuff and was completed on time once the job started.

They did not show up at all. When I called, they were rude to me on the phone and didn't seem to care that I didn't want them to come out anymore for an estimate.

They were the cheapest we found. We didn't have any problems with them at all.

COMPANY WAS SLOW TO RETURN CALLS AND FOLLOW UP ON ADMINISTRATIVE ISSUES, BUT DID GOOD WORK ONCE THEY ARRIVED. THE ACTUAL TECHNICIAN USED FOR THIS JOB WAS GREAT.

THEY ESTIMATED A FENCING JOB SEVERAL WKS AGO AND SAID THEY WOULD START THE WEEK OF LABOR DAY. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. THEN THEY SAID IT WOULD BE THE NEXT WEEK. IT'S FRIDAY OF THAT WEEK AND NOTHING'S STARTED YET. EXCEPT THAT THEY DID GET THEIR DOWN PAYMENT ALREADY. HOW DOES A COMPANY EXPECT TO GET A GOOD REPUTATION WHEN THEY OPERATE LIKE THIS? HAVEN'T THEY EVER HEARD THE SAYING ''UNDER PROMISE AND OVER DELIVER''? IT SHOULDN'T BE THE OTHER WAY AROUND, VERY DISAPPOINTING SO FAR. I RATE THEM AN ''S'' FOR SUCK!

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE FINISHED PRODUCT AND THE INSTALLERS. THEY CAME ON SCHEDULE AND FINISHED ON SCHEDULE. OUR GATE HAD TO BE REBUILT AS WE HAD 48'' FENCE AND THEY BROUGHT A 42'' GATE. THE NEW GATE WAS MADE THE NEXT DAY AND INSTALLED THE DAY AFTER. THEY CLEANED UP THE YARD.

I HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH ECONOMY FENCE. MARTY CAME OUT AND EXPLAINED ALL MY OPTIONS. HE WENT THE EXTRA MILE BY ADVISING ME OF A BUILDING LINE THAT I CAN'T CROSS. I HAD THE POST PUT UP ON 7/7/05 AND THE FENCE WAS COMPLETED ON 7/9/05. THE QUALITY OF THE WORK IS GREAT. THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE ALSO. THEY GOT THE JOB DONE ON TIME. THE CREW WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS.

MARTY WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND PROMPT. ALTHOUGH WE WENT WITH ANOTHER BID, I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE COMPANY. A FOLLOW UP CALL WAS RECEIVED FOUR DAYS LATER TO SEE IF WE HAD MADE A DECISION.

I HAVE HAD ONLY ONE CONTACT WITH THE COMPANY SINCE THAT TIME WHEN I CALLED AND SPOKE TO THE OWNER, JIM BROWN, ON 7/16/2004. I DISCUSSED MY CONCERNS WITH HIM, IN PARTICULAR THE ISSUE OF REFRAMING ONE SECTION BECAUSE THERE IS A GAP AT THE POST WHERE THAT SECTION JOINS THE GATE. HE INDICATED HE WOULD FIND MY PAPERWORK AND CALL ME BACK. SINCE I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM, I HAVE CONTACTED ANOTHER FENCE COMPANY AND HAVE OBTAINED AN ESTIMATE FROM THEM TO FIX THE PROBLEMS DESCRIBED ABOVE. IN TERMS OF PAYMENT, I PLAN TO WRITE A LETTER TO ECONOMY AND INDICATE TO THEM THAT I INTEND TO HAVE THE WORK PERFORMED PER THE EST. FROM THE OTHER COMPANY AND DEDUCT THAT AMOUNT FROM THE OUTSTANDING BALANCE (APPROX. $900) OWED TO ECONOMY.

I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN THEIR COMMUNICATION WITH ME... I RECEIVED A QUOTE AND HE SAID IT WOULD BE ABOUT 3 WEEKS.. TWO WEEKS LATER I RECEIVED A CALL SAYING I NEEDED TO MAKE A DOWN PAYMENT (NO PROBLEM) BEFORE THEY COULD START THEIR WORK. I STOPPED BY AND GAVE THEM THE PAYMENT AND ASKED WHEN THE WORK WOULD BE SCHEDULED AND THEY SAID THEY WERE RUNNING BEHIND. I CALLED A WEEK LATER (FRIDAY) AND THEY SAID IT WAS SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY AFTERNOON. I CALLED ON MONDAY AFTERNOON AROUND 4:15 AND THEY SAID IT PROBABLY WOULDN'T GET DONE.. I ASKED IF THEY COULD MAKE IT ON WEDNESDAY AND WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T COMMIT... THEY DID COME ON WEDNESDAY AND THEY DID A FINE JOB. THE ONLY CALL I RECEIVED WAS TO TELL ME I NEEDED TO MAKE A DOWN PAYMENT... MAYBE THE JOB WAS TOO SMALL???

WE WANTED TO GET A PRIVACY FENCE INSTALLED BEFORE VACATION. WE SET ASIDE TIME ON 2 OCCASIONS FOR AN ESTIMATE, ONLY TO GET A CALL THAT DAY THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO RESCHEDULE EACH TIME. IT'S NOT VERY BUSINESSLIKE TO SET APPOINTMENTS THAT YOU CONTINUALLY ARE UNABLE TO MEET. THIS IS TIME CONSUMING AND NOT GOOD BUSINESS. DON'T SET APPOINTMENTS YOU CANNOT KEEP!

THE PRICE WAS GREAT, BUT THE WORK WAS AWFUL. I HAD TO CALL ANOTHER COMPANY TO REPAIR THEIR WORK. THEY CAME BACK TO MAKE REPAIRS ON REPAIRS AND IT WAS WORSE THAN BEFORE THEY CAME. DESTROYED AN IRRIGATION SYSTEM.

QUOTE TOOK MUCH LONGER THAN PROMISED.

THIS WAS THE SECOND DAY IN A ROLL THAT A COMPANY WE HAD LEARNED ABOUT FROM ANGIE'S LIST HAS NOT SHOWN UP FOR AN APPOINTMENT OR CALLED TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE. VERY AGGRAVATING!!!!
