Wish Angie's List had something above an "A". I contacted Steve Parker, who is the owner, at 4 pm. He was on the roof by 7 pm. This was in spite of him working all day and having to work through dinner. He did a complete inspection of the roof then glued down the loose shingles. Steve said that since some of the shingles were bent he could have said that an entire section of shingles needed to be replaced but the glue he was using will hold the shingles down longer then the rest of the roof will be there. It is refreshing to find a contractor so honest. Now I know who to go to for any house problems.

However, it was the end of November and was cold out. I called and told Steve that I am worried about the shingles won't seal in the cold weather. He told me "no one leaves the tarp on for the whole winter. We have to give it the best shot". They installed on a Saturday in Nov. when it is only 39 degree out. Steve brought the form and want us to fill out the review for Angie's list right away. Unfortunately, the shingles only stay for few months. A storm hits in Feb, 2014 and several shingles flew away. Hence, caused water damage on the ceiling and the dry wall. We have to call the insurance and file another claim. With their approval, we called and ask Steve to do emergency tarp. Steve was very nice and tarp the roof right away. However, the tarp was not big enough and we have water leak again. He has to come to tarp the second time. Then, another storm hits, the tarp flew away so he has to come the third time. Also he tarped the other areas on the third time. When the adjuster came, he told us the roofer tarped on the areas that has no storm damage. Moreover, the extra tarping caused a lot of nail damage to the shingles. The insurance only pay for the missing shingles, but not the other nail damaged shingles. Plus, he charged $150.00 for the tarping which we paid already. Then he come back and want us to sign a $400.00 invoice to insurance company. He never told us the price for the tarp in the beginning. My husband refused to sign the $400.00 invoice. Steve text and threat to come back and remove all the tarping. There are more........our insurance company refused to insure us anymore because we file too many claims. It costs a us a lot more to find a new insurance company.

Very easy to work with; Steve is very skilled at what he does and he enjoys it! Goes out of his way to make sure the work gets done with proper materials. Because the roof is not your normal roof and a historical building, he and his crew took great care with the tear-off, landscaped grounds, and the overall operation. A very friendly and polite crew, who worked very hard to stay on time, budget and provide a great result. The project did take an extra day, but that was due to mother nature and the physical work involved on a roof of this magnitude. Also, the owner and team took great care in safety, and as a business owner, we appreciated that! In summary, we had planned on putting a new roof later in the year, due to budgetary reasons. Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to wait. So going into this we were emotional deflated having to do this major home improvement so quickly and finding the funds to do it. We did, and now we just walk around the home with a cup of coffee each morning, and just say, "Ah! it looks great!" The house just shines now! Steve and his team took our worries away, and we now have a gorgeous roof! Last point, we have additional work on our own home, and Steve is on it! Always great follow-up, and someone you can partner with, or is a helpful resource for services not in his realm. Thank you Duramax!

It went well. They are courteous and take the time to explain what they are doing. They clean up afterwards as well.

They did a great job and even with all the snow we had this winter I have not had one single leak. The crew was quick and friendly. They seemed to be well trained. They were very efficient and Steve was upfront and honest.

Steve came out in less than 24 hours after my call to check the roof. He called me within 15 minutes of being there and let me know that he could fix the leak for good, and that the roofers calling for a new roof were most likely looking to take my money. He said the roof was fine, the leak just needed patched. He performed the fix, for far less than I thought and followed up after the job to confirm the leak was fixed. It was, and even after heavy snow and rain there has been no leaks. I would recommend Steve Parker and Duramax for any job you needed. Very professional and prompt.

I highly recommend this company. Our house had quite a bit of siding damage that was caused by this recent winter storm. We had large chunks of siding that were just hanging, broken off of our house. The storm came through all day Sunday and part of Monday and it was on Monday that we noticed the damage. First off, 90% of the businesses in Indianapolis were closed on Monday, so when we called Duramax we weren't even expecting them to answer....we were expecting to leave a message; but to our surprise Steve answered our call and told us he would be out the next day to come take a look at the damage. Again, a lot of the city was still closed down on Tuesday as well, so we were thrilled he was willing to come out anyway. He was out the next day, as promised, and gave us an estimate and told us he would call to see if the parts were available. The parts were to be in a few days later and Steve and his crew were out to our house first thing Sunday morning to do the work. They were all very nice and professional and the work was completed within an hour. Steve also took the time to go over everything with us afterwards and made sure things looked as we wanted. Overall, we definitely would use the company again and we would recommend them to others. They were great and now our house looks good as new!

Outstanding Service and Quality. I have used this company for a few years now. After a recent hail storm I called DuraMax Roofing and Construction. Steve Parker is a professional. He always returned my phone calls in a timely manner, which is a real plus in my book. His price, and quality were top notch. His crew was punctual and always cleaned up after themselves. Steve is fair and one of the most honest contractors I have run across. I have personally used Steve on two different houses (roof, siding, and gutters). In addition, I have recommended Steve and DuraMax to several of my friends. All of them were very happy with the work his crews performed. One of the most daunting tasks for a home owner is trusting the contractor to not rip you off. Steve walked me through the process and explained how it worked. Steve had the honesty and integrity that made me feel comfortable trusting him to do what he said he would do. In the end, he was a man of his word. Our home was damaged after a recent hail storm. Through word of mouth, we were informed that Steve Parker, from Duramax Construction, was very straight forward and easy to work with. He was GREAT! He came to our home, inspected the damage, and gave us his overall opinion of what work would need to be done. He also offered to be present when the insurance adjuster inspected the house to help ensure everything that needed to be done would be covered by insurance. This was extremely helpful! Once we received to go-ahead from our insurance company, we contacted Steve right away so that we could get added onto his schedule. He met with us right away, we went through all our color/material options, and he added us to the schedule on the spot. We had 3 different Duramax crews work on our house throughout the process: Roofing, Gutters, and Siding. The roofing crew got started right away in the morning and had our entire roof done in less than a day, including a full clean-up. The gutter crew did a great job as well and had the job done in a few hours. Lastly, the siding guys replaced all of the damaged siding, and also took the time to replace some rotted light-mounts and a piece of drip-edge that was not part of the original insurance/Duramax quote. Overall, we could not have been happier with our experience with Duramax.

They did exactly what they said they would do. They were polite, considerate, and did a great job. They were always responsive and prompt to answer my questions. It was simply a job well done. Steve Parker stopped by multiple times to check on the roof and the quality of work. I was very impressed.

They made sure that they did the work completely instead of leaving some things around. They finished the job for two and a half days which was pretty fast. The guy answered my questions quickly.

They have done a good job so far and I am very happy with them. whatever they have done so far. I have called them and they have been very responsive. I have told them what was needed to be done. They are professionals, I told them to watch my flowers which are all along the side because I did not want them damaged. They did a comfortable job of what somebody could have done to.

I have a rather rare roof style- flat, not low slope, flat. It was pretty much wood decking covered with tar paper, then asphalt, then rock. I've come to learn that this is called built-up roof or BUR. My house was built in the 60's when this was more common but these roofs are prone to leaking and I wanted to replace my roof with a membrane (TPO) roof. This really limited my options for contractors since only companies that do commercial roof (ie on walmarts) can install membrane roofs. Most companies either wouldn't do a residential roof cause they aren't worth their time or would charge an astronomical price (~20k). I got quotes from several companies, some of which didn't seem like they had ever installed a membrane roof and would only give me a 2 year warranty. Since I don't plan to be in this house for more than 5 years, I really wanted a good, transferable warranty to make it easier to sell the house. Duramax gave me a competitive quote and a 10 year warranty (much better than other companies) and it was clear that they had experience with this type of roof. After receiving the quote and talking with an architect I decided the best best thing to do was to put a layer of tapered insulation under the membrane to add a little slope to the roof to prevent water pooling. Steve met me at my work to talk with me about how to do this, went back to my house to get measurements again was able to work with me on the price to include the insulation. After I agreed to go with them, Steve met me at work again to go over the paperwork. He saved me a lot of time and hassle by meeting me when/ where I wanted. They started the work as soon as they could and the weather cooperated, which was about 2 weeks later. They showed up with a crew of 5-6 and Steve and the owner were either there or available to make sure things went smoothly. Tearing off the old roof was harder than we expected. There were several layers to the roof and they could have just put the new roof on top of this but I wanted them to get it down the the decking underneath to make sure it was solid. They were happy to do whatever I wanted even if it meant and extra day of work. It was clear that they were focused on keeping the customer happy. There was a couple places where the decking was rotten and they replaced this without charging me more. There were also a couple of issues when they were installing the insulation regarding the lip-edge around the roof (critical with a low-slope roof). I called Steve and he was out there immediately to make sure everything was done right and I was happy. He was very attentive to the customers needs. When it came time to install them membrane, they brought in their "commercial roof" guy that clearly had a lot of experience with this type of roof. They did a very good job installing it and made sure I was happy with it. In the end I fully expected the bill to be a little higher than the quote due to the unexpected issues they had to deal with but they didn't ask for a penny more. Overall I would highly recommend Duramax since they did quality work for a good price, treat their customers very well, and stand behind their work.

Called this company when I saw one of their vehicles in town - they came out that day, brought samples and competitive pricing. Great price, product, and workmanship! I would work with this company again!

Don't listen to anybody here who says anything negative if they were just quote shopping. Listen to someone like me who actually hired DuraMax and worked with them. Steve and Tacho worked with me every step of the way and more importantly they worked hands on, with my insurance company. They helped me get an incredible deal with my insurance agent and performed all of the work on time and with minimal disruption. Keep in mind that this was the level of service I received for a little 1,100 square foot house in Lawrence. Every step of the way I still felt like my business was important to them. I would recommend them to anybody and will certainly use them again if the need arises.
