We are very pleased with the construction of the deck frame (my husband is completing the rest of the deck on his own). They completed this project in 3 days. Would highly recommend Deck Works.

DeckWorks was a joy to do business with.. Andy West came personally and listened to our needs, then followed up with a very detailed estimate. We went through a couple of iterations of the quote for various options. His crew showed up when they were supposed to and were very professional and hard working. The quality of their work was exceptional. They kept the worksite clean for the 2 days it took and cleaned everything up when they left. WE LOVE OUR NEW DECK!!!! Very good experience with DeckWorks.

They were very good. Their cleanup was lacking a little bit. They arrived on time to do the work. They did what I wanted them to do. They listened to me.

Andy provided a competitive quote. We had 3 other quotes for our Pergola-all found on Angie's List. Andy was professional and his quote was the best (although all quotes were very close). He was attentive to what we wanted and designed around that. His team arrived in one day and installed the Pergola. They did a beautiful job! Great; they were very neat about the project, completing it within several days; did a thorough job cleaning up afterward; when an item was noted with regard to entry to the crawlspace, I contacted Andy, and they immediately fixed it the next a.m.; the deck is great.

Andy called me to start the project while I was out of town and was able to complete the entire project before I returned. Ipe wood is difficult to work with, as all screw holes have to be predrilled. Deck Works did a great job. The deck looks wonderful and everything had been completely cleaned up when I returned. They came back a week or two later and finished the staining. I was a little disappointed that the work was done while I was out of town, since I had told Andy I would be away that week, but everything turned out fine.

It went very well. I had to reschedule our appointment the first time and Andy was fine with that. He came out on a Thursday afternoon and had a quote to us by Friday. We were ready to make a decision at that time and he went on vacation right after that. I called and he actually called me back from out of the country on vacation. He called me twice that week which I thought was very admirable with him being out of the country. We ended up going with the other contractor but they both were very comparable as far as service and price. We were ready to move and the other quote was all ready and Andy still had to get some more numbers to us. That's the main reason we went with the other contractor.

Andy gave me an estimate for adding supports to my existing 25 year old deck which was in pretty bad shape or building a new one. I also asked him to raise my attached porch which was leaning quite seriously south. I decided to have the deck rebuilt for two reasons. One because shoring it up would be a temporary fix and I never liked how flimsy it looked. I asked Andy if he was going to build the deck in a similar style as my original and he said yes. He would try to raise the porch as much as possible but could not guarantee it would be level. The new deck is much sturdier and has great style, nothing like the old one. The porch looks level to me and if it is not it no longer feels like it is headed south. The only glitch was the cleanup which took longer than I hoped, but Andy made up for it by checking to make sure everything was removed.

Andy was extremely professional, and worked with us to understand what we wanted. He adapted his plans to what we asked for, and was always professional and pleasant. The guys worked the entire time they were there, and always cleaned up after themselves. We didn't have to pick up cigarette butts, paper cups, anything like that. They kept the area clean, and picked up the discarded wood so that it would not hurt the grass. At some point, we realized we wanted the deck a few feet larger, which meant they had to dig new holes for the posts. Andy said "absolutely, whatever you want" and the guys never complained or made us feel bad. Andy checked every board to make sure the quality was good, and even sent a load back to one of the lumber sources. I would definitely recommend Deck Works. Andy attended to every single detail and request that we made. The painters he hired were fantastic as well, keeping the paint off the deck and making sure we were completely satisfied.

Excellent. Andy was very flexible. Promised to give us our dream deck based on our design and boy did he deliver! We get so many compliments on the deck. The work was of high quality and was developed with high quality materials. Great craftsmanship.

Andy re-planked my deck and railings last summer. Over the winter/spring, one post was starting to work loose and was about to really get out of alignment. Andy came out within a week of my calling him to take a look. He returned within the week and completely fixed the problem. It is great to have a contractor stand by his work and return so promptly when an unforeseen problem develops.

Very well. It was a simple deck, but well built with good materials. Called Andy after it was done with complaint about no benching and he responded with a beautiful bench just as I'd seen it in his quote. Better, frankly.

Several other companies had given us bids, but none of them thought they could do a pitched roof. But Deck Works lead carpenter, Jamie, really knows his business and did an excellent job. They let me do the painting, which saved some money. We are using the porch every day it's warm enough and wish we had done this a long time ago.

The porch was installed first, then I decided to add the deck. The entire project took longer then we had expected, but the weather caused a lot of delays. Andy did a great job designing. I appreciated his suggestion to make the outside walls of the porch match the existing house. His workers were very efficient,they worked hard everyday they were here, and were very skillful. We decided to have the deck added after the porch was completed, and Andy also designed it to our satisfaction. Also, I appreciated the fact that every time I called Andy he responded quickly and would satisfy any questions I had regarding the progress. We were extremely satisfied with Deck Works and would highly recommend them to anyone planning a new deck or porch.

I've already set him up for another job. They just did a fabulous job. I called him on Monday and he was out here on Wednesday.

Provided a quick and complete estimate. Completed work despite working around rain showers. Clean-up was complete and timely.

Andy was very polite and knowledgeable. His quote was generally on par with other companies, however, a $400 additional charge was quoted for removal of the previous deck. Most other companies included that in the construction estimate.

Andy came out to look at the area to be worked on and give us an estimate. He was very easy to work with and brought along examples of their work. The job was to take approximately 2 weeks but ended up taking a little longer than that because of weather (all the rain) and the 4th of July holiday. We are very pleased with the work and the crew was very good about cleaning up the worksite. There is a one year warranty on the project. I would gladly recommend this company.

The work was generally well done. There were some problems, but they were eventually resolved.

Andy West was fairly prompt at returning calls and setting up estimates, etc. He was responsive to calls and started work on time. However, he failed to check code in Boone County; and therefore, the builing of the deck had to be stopped. This delayed the project which was actually no big deal. There were several things I felt needed to be done to finish the project. When discussing these with Mr. West, he argued with me about the need to do them or the language I used to describe the problems. I found this strange and lacking a customer focus since they were relatively small items and were easily taken care of. Still, this lack of customer focus was evident several times in my opinion and it made for several difficult interactions. I have experiened a lot of ''board pops'' even though they screw down the lumber.

Quote was twice as high as three other quotes I received.

ANDY AND HIS EMPLOYEES WERE REMARKABLE AND THE FINISHED DECK IS AMAZING. WE HAD MANY QUOTES, AND DECK WORKS WAS COMPETITIVE IN THEIR PRICING. ANDY WAS ALSO GREAT ASSISTANCE WITH DESIGNING OUR DECK. THEY WORKED QUICKLY, ALWAYS ON TIME, VERY PROFESSIONAL AND POLITE. WE ARE SO HAPPY WITH THE WORK WE HAVE RECOMMENDED THEM TO OTHERS, AND ARE DISCUSSING ADDITIONAL PROJECTS WITH ANDY. THIS IS A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH.

I AM THRILLED WITH MY NEW DECK. ANDY CAME OVER PROMPTLY TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE. WHEN I CONTRACTED WITH HIM, ANDY LET ME KNOW HOW FAR AHEAD HE WAS SCHEDULING. A TEAM OF ABOUT 4 WORKERS CAME ON SCHEDULE TO BEGIN THE DECK, BUT TOOK LONGER THAN ANTICIPATED FOR A COUPLE OF REASONS. ONE WAS THAT IT WAS VERY HOT, SO THEY DID NOT WORK AS LONG AS THEY MIGHT HAVE IN COOLER WEATHER. THE SECOND REASON WAS THAT THEY HAD TO REPLACE SOME OF THE UNDERLYING FOUNDATION WHICH ANDY HAD NOT ANTICIPATED. HE HAD TO ORDER EXTRA MATERIAL, BUT HE DID NOT CHARGE ME. I NEVER SAW ANDY EXCEPT FOR THE ESTIMATE, BUT THE WORKERS DID A VERY GOOD JOB PUTTING IN A HIGH QUALITY DECK. THEY REMOVED MOST OF THE REFUSE, AND I CLEANED THE DUST PARTICLES FROM THE DECK AND SURROUNDING AREA. THE RAILING SEEMED A TAD WOBBLY AFTER THEY WERE FINISHED SO I CALLED ANDY ABOUT IT. HE SENT SOMEONE OVER AND IT WAS REINFORCED AND IS NOW PERFECT.

RETURNED CALLS PROMPTLY. WAS ON TIME FOR EVENING CONSULTATION. AREA WAS CLEANED UP AFTER. CALLED AFTER HE MADE A FINAL INSPECTION. FRIENDLY, CONSIDERATE, PROFESSIONAL, USE OF CREDIT CARD FOR PAYMENT.

THE ESTIMATOR WAS ON TIME AND VERY POLITE. THE ESTIMATE WAS ONLY $263 DOLLARS HIGHER THAN THE COMPANY WE WENT WITH, SO HE CAME VERY CLOSE TO GETTING OUR BUSINESS.
