David Schulz

I wish I had known David for YEARS before this! He is professional, punctual, tidy, efficient, knowledgeable. ALL the things you want in a handyman and then some! My husband and I heard about him from a friend of ours and were pleased to see how highly ranked he was here on Angie's List. He gave us an estimate and then communicated how additional requests we made may / may not increase the original price he gave us, so there were no surprises along the way. His assistant and he make a great team. His assistant is hardworking, polite, and knows what he's doing, and takes direction from David well. David even did little things like checking with me on where he should put supplies in our garage so they wouldn't impede our entry/exit from the garage, and made sure to keep his things free and clear of where our garbage bin goes so that we wouldn't have trouble bringing it in on trash day. I was skeptical of how a closet was going to look in this particular room, but I can say with complete honesty that not only does it look good, but it looks like it's been there from the start. I'd give him an A+ if I could, and will definitely hire him again if the need arises.

Dave was punctual and very pleasant. He brought a helper since he was still recovering from a should injury, but didn't charge me extra. We had discussed the options & methods available for several of the projects. I appreciated this as I am rather handy. I hate hiring an expert to do work I know something about and then when they're finished thinking, "Well, I could have done that!" Dave did things better than I would have and that makes me happy. He was impressed by my giant, 80-year-old attic fan that runs like a top and that gave me a new appreciation for it. I would hire Dave again and, in fact, already have.

Though they showed up a little later then expected after picking up the door I purchased the night before, they worked well together and got the door up efficiently without further damaging anything. It took them about 4 hours.

Mr. Shultz arrived when promised and went right to work. He was very professional and did excellent work. I was totally satisfied and plan to use his services again.

He was excellent. He was very personable and explained what he was going to to and the options. He made really good suggestions and showed us exactly what he was going to charge. He was very easy to work with and he was timely and punctual.

After getting several estimates, I called him to schedule the job. He was readily available, showed up when he said he would, and did the work quickly and professionally. The drywall job required him to come back several times to sand and smooth, apply more compound, let dry, repeat, etc. He never complained about all the times he had to show up for only a few minutes of work; his only concern was doing a good job.

I have worked with David before and do recommend him. He does stay in touch and does not leave a mess, is trustworthy and dependable. I think the best way to work with him is to have a number of jobs batched so he comes to yor home and stays busy, versus calling him for every small repair. On another occasion though I had a situation where we had a wax ring for a toilet leaking toxic sewer gas into our basement. David very promptly came to our home, diagnosed the problem. purchased the materials and made the repairs. I was out of town and came home to a repaired toilet, and no signs of work having been performed.

He installed a hotel style water heater and did a great job.

It was a small job. The guy who came out was timely and did a good job. There was nothing that I didn?t like. I have used the services of David Schulz several times now.

I called David to see if he could estimate how much it would cost to reattach our downspout to our gutter. Over the phone, he gave me his hourly rate and estimated it might take him an hour to do the job. He indicated that he would need to see the downspout to give me a more detailed estimate. He came right out the next day. His communication with me, thoughout both jobs he ended up doing was amazing. He repaired the downspout quickly and asked if we wanted the gutters cleaned as well. He did an excellent job! While he was at the house, I had him look at anchoring a porch swing onto our porch. This job required a good bit of creative problem solving. He solved the problem to my great amazement. He came back the next day to finish the job. Clean up was superb. The swing is anchored beautifully! I couldn't be happier.

Fantastic. Both of them were nice, professional and got the jobs done. Can't ask for much more than that.

Dave was prompt and professional. We were pleased with his work and scruples to not do work that did not need to be done. He brought an assistant along to help him with the ceiling fan. He informed us of an existing problem with the previous mounting, and explained that it would still work just fine. He assessed the problem with the toilet dripping, which we thought could be corrected with replacing the flapper valve. However, he recommended a good cleaning, which he did. He explained that if the dripping persists, it could mean a more serious problem, requiring major toilet work. We would definitely use Dave again in the future and definitely recommend him.

Overall, because he was a very pleasant and personable person, I felt it had gone well. But after a week or so, I realized that the paint job had not covered the drywall adequately. I also noticedhe had brought an additional worker for the job, but had not told me I would be charged extra (above the original estimate) for this person. I didn't find out until the final bill, which was $291.00 above the original quote. I called him back to make the corrections, after about 1 month. He came back and said that he would make the corrections. He set a date to come back. When he was supposed to come back, he called to say that he had injured his shoulder and couldn't come back right away. It has been close to 2 months, and I have still not heard back from him.

He did very professional work at a reasonable price.

He was prompt and efficient. The job was well-done and the price was reasonable.

This is the second time I've used David and he far exceeded my expectations again. David is very conscious, efficient and thorough in his work. I would recommend him to anyone needing his expertise.

When he got here he inspected the fan and was able to fix the fan instead of replacing it. He saved me a lot of money and did a great job.

Very easy to work with, and stayed pretty close to the estimate. He does very good work, and is trustworthy. He kept me informed each step of the process.

David arrived on time, reviewed the problem, noted the challenges. Left to get a part--warned that it may take some time to find the part. Returned sooner than I'd expected; completed the job promptly. Very dependable and friendly--looking forward to hiring him for future needs.
