David Schulz

David and his assistant did an excellent job. They performed work on a rental property that took multiple trips. He took it upon himself to schedule each trip with the tenant so it was completely hands off for myself. My tenant was more than pleased. They worked quickly and professionally, with little interruption to my tenant. She was very comfortable with them and requested that I hire them for any future projects. I will definitely be working with David again.

I don't know what you folks do in the ratings but it is unfortunate that several of the handyman sources that got high ratings would not bother to return calls. This is common courtesy and should be expected of a highly rated vendor. Your rating form is poor. It is apparent that the issue with this vendor is he was a no show. The address is not relevant in this case.

It went extremely well. Dave and his assistant, John, were very professional and competent. The arrived at the time that they told us they would. Both were diligent workers. The attachments to the gate were not quite square, so they took the time to make sure that the gate operated properly. They started work on Friday morning, and were not quite finished on Friday, but they came back on Saturday to complete the job. If they had design questions they consulted with us before proceeding. Each time they were extra careful with items around the gate, and they cleaned up any mess that was there each day. The gate looks wonderful, and works great. Would not hesitate a second to recommend or hire them again.

We found David to be honest and professional. So often we have dealt with people who knew we had few skills in this area and simply "took us"-overcharging, not being clear about what they were doing. David always explained the situation, told us the possible problems, and left it to us to decide if we fix it now or later. We will definitely be calling David Schulz again.

David was very good at communicating with me over the phone concerning the problem and how best to take care of it. He was able to get to my house the very next day and seal the holes/cracks around the chimney.

He was fair and reasonable. He is a very nice guy.

He took apart the timer from my 15 year old device and was able to get a model number. He then ordered the part for me and installed it as soon as he got the part. His service was quick and efficient. I would definitely call him again.

Mr. Schulz and his partner were on-time, friendly, tidy, and respectful. The install looked better than I imagined. They took off the middle cabinet, cut holes in the cabinet and ceiling, and fitted duct work through to the attic.

A leak in the air conditioning unit, located n the ceiling, had flooded a coat closet and by the time it was discovered, the damage was major; in addition to the wet interior, the stained wood closet doors were severely water-damaged. The repairs took more than two weeks because multiple coats of stain sealer and paint had to be allowed to dry, but David repaired the closet perfectly and restored both the doors PLUS a matching door in another room that had suffered water damage in an early problem. The doors look like new. The closet also had custom wood trim which he was unable to match as perfectly as he wanted, so he carefully removed the matching trim from the inside of the closet, used it on the outside, and put the less-than-perfect match inside where it will never be seen. He matched the paint in the hallway perfectly. One would never know this disaster had happened. I have had David do several other repairs and always been satisfied. He's a widow's blessing -- he is responsive, reliable, and reasonable.

David is on-time, honest, clean, and very helpful. I was completely happy with him and his work.

We live in an old house in the Meridian Kessler neighborhood of Indianapolis. As it was built in the late 1920s, our house can sometimes present unexpected challenges when it comes time for a repair or an upgrade. Our go-to person in these situations is always David Schulz. He brings a wonderful combination of experience, talent, skillset to every project he does for us, and he is also an extraordinarily thoughtful and resourceful person. He genuinely cares about the quality of his work and the satisfaction of his clients, and it came as small surprise to us when Indianapolis Monthly named him Best Handyman a few years ago in their annual issue.

dave responded to my initial call immediately...came to my house within 2 days....he indicated that he could return to do the work in 2 to 3 weeks. 2.5 weeks later Dave came to do the job. Dave is polite, personable, likes people and loves what he does. His assistant, John, is also very polite. I am a single woman and felt quite comfortable with them. Dave and John set to work efficientlty...it was clear that they take pride in their work. Dave did more than expected (by shopping for needed parts, when I did not even expect him install the machines). Dave's price for the work was very affordable. I was very pleased with their results and would not hesitate to call them again.

Mr. Schulz and his associate John came out, too a look and put me on their scheule. When they showed up, that did a great job. I like especially that he is so knowledgeable and courteous, as was John. He is a no-nonsense kind of gentleman. Got right to work, no dilly-dallying, and was very reasonable. I am a property manager and manage about 20 homes, so he is now my #1 go-to man. You can try searching, but I don't think you can do any better or find a more skilled individual than Mr. Schulz. Fantastic! Called and prepared and estimate and we set a date. Called later to confirm. Came home that night and all the work was done. Excellent work - no complaints at all and price was fair and reasonable.

While away for a few days I was the victim of a break-in to a detached garage. I was notified about it by my alarm company and the police. After a quick check of Angie's list, I called David in the early the next morning and asked him to fix-up and seal-up the damaged door. He fit me in his schedule that very morning and did the work necessary to re-secure the premises. He was willing to email me the invoice so I could pay him while I was still away. Someday soon I'll hire him again when I can actually meet him in person.

.Came by promptly to make an estimate and arrange date for work to begin. Work progressed in a timely fashion. He and his helpers were great to work with and they were hard workers. Never any messes. After work started there were no interruptions until the total project was completed. Couldn't ask for anything better.

David took my call and we discussed what I wanted over the phone. Originally , I told him I just wanted my new toilets installed and my leaky kitchen faucet and outside spicket fixed. He was able to give me an approximate price over the phone. When he showed up a few days later for the work, he brought a helper named Judd. I surprised them with additional jobs for them. They were happy to do them. He did need to go get a few parts once he saw what he was dealing with. They installed the new toilets(2) and he fixed the faucet and replaced the outside faucet. His helper Judd put in new bathroom light and new exhaust fan. My old one was small and had no light so I got a bigger one with a light . He needed to cut a bigger hole for fan and go up in attic to prepare for it. They also had to patch up where old light was and come back next day to paint and set the light. David and Judd were both VERY nice, dependable, and trustworthy. David really knows his stuff. He tells you up front that he doesn't do major plumbing or major electrical so you know he doesn't do what he's not licensed to do. He has people he uses for that kind of work. I thought David was also reasonably priced. I got estimates from2 big plumbing companys and they were priced much, much higher. Two other plumbing companies wouln't even quote me over the phone but offered to come over and give me an estimate for $79. What a scam! I will use David again in the future. He is honest and fair!

He's excellent! Compared to other handyman/plumber/etc that we've used, his prices are incredibly reasonable. He's hung pictures, moved furniture, fixed the sump pump - He does everything, big or small! I would highly recommend him. He's got a great team - very professional. He's also a dog lover which is important since we have a few big dogs.

He did very good work. He is very friendly and personable. He has good quality work, pays attention to detail, is knowledgeable, and uses good judgment in repairing something. He makes recommendations of what needs to be done and for contractors if something is needed beyond handyman services. He goes above and beyond the call of duty. He is extremely reasonable with prices. He is honest and stuck by his word regarding his original quote even though it took him longer. I will continue to use him in the future.

I called David yesterday for a quote on repairs to a storage shed. He called back with a quote in a couple of hours. When I said I'd like it fixed as quickly as possible, he said he could be here at 10:00 this morning -- and he was. He and his assistant replaced the rotten boards and fixed the shed doors so they work better than they have in years, and rebuilt the ramp into the shed so it's solid as a rock. While he was there, I asked him to take a look at a cantankerous knob on a storm door, which he also fixed. The work is excellent; the bill was actually LESS than the estimate; he was prompt, efficient, and very capable. A good handyman is a real find -- David is excellent.

We've used David before for handyman work around the house. When I noticed a gutter was loose, I contacted him and he took care of it that week. We are always very happy with his service. Highly recommend!

I was very impressed with David's work, and more so with his preparation. The crawlspace vent cover request was a new one to him, and he came up with a great customized solution. We spent some time discussing alternatives and their pros/cons, and in the end I got what I was looking for . . . custom crawlspace vent covers with tight seals. David also offered permanent and short-term alternatives to securing the outdoor electrical outlet. I went with the short-term, which I believe should still last many years. I was provided an estimate for the work at $150.00, which I accepted. The invoice came in well under that amount . . . $108. Nice surprise! What especially made me smile, though, was when just today (a few days after job completion) I noticed that David had observed and corrected an outside electrical safety concern that I did not think about when I set it up . . . He moved and secured an extension cord that I was using for outdoor Christmas decorations so that the connection was off the (wet) ground and would stay that way. Nice bonus. Thanks, David!
