+ -1 moreThis guy is a smooth talker but unfortunately he met someone that was educated and wise and came from a background of building and construction. I think overall that scared him and that's the real reason he backed out. I wasn't going to let him screw me, my wife and 3 kids over. We have needed a new system for many, many years and we have suffered through bitter cold winters and hot summers and now we are in a good place in life and can finally afford a new system and I don't want to get screwed.
Description of Work: Contractor backed out when I expressed concern over the equipment he was going to use. He also stated that it was his choice and that he had some say-so in what equipment he was going to use. I'm thinking this is my house, this is my money I think the equipment I want is entirely my choice. He wanted to use the cheapest stuff out there and maximize his total profit. I researched everything, and discovered that since he was getting the equipment for dirt cheap that I would ask him to do it for $3600 instead of $3800.

+ -1 moreVERY SMOOTH TO TALK TO BUT DOESN'T FOLLOW THROUGH. HE KEPT IN TOUCH WITH US, THEN THE DAY HE WAS TO START HE JACKED HIS PRICE (SAID HIS QUOTE INCLUDED HEATING THE FIRST FLOOR NOT THE SECOND!) AFTER TALKING WITH HIM, WE CAME TO AN AGREEMENT, THEN HE DIDN'T RETURN CALLS OR SHOW UP. THE WORST PART IS I REFERRED HIM TO A COLLEAGUE AFTER I GOT HIS NUMBERS AND HE DID THE SAME TO HIM! I AM A REAL ESTATE INVESTOR AND REHAB UP TO 12 HOMES PER YEAR. IF THIS IS HOW HE TREATS SOMEONE WHO CAN GIVE HIM REPEAT BUSINESS, IMAGINE HOW HE TREATS SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T!
Description of Work: HE WAS CONTACTED FOR A QUOTE, CAME OUT AND GAVE US A QUOTE TO INSTALL NEW HVAC IN A HOUSE WE ARE RENOVATING.
