CUTTING EDGE HARDSCAPES

The work was done extremely well. All of the workers were great, and Kevin, who is the president of the company, was easy to work with. I will comment that they are probably on the more expensive end of the spectrum for outdoor living space, but you get what you pay for and Cutting Edge did a great job. I don't think there is any reason to try to save a few bucks on a permanent addition to your property if it could potentially cost quality in the workmanship. I can confidently say that these guys did not cut corners and made sure everything was absolutely done correctly. I would definitely hire them again!

We are extremely pleased with our experience with Cutting Edge Hardscapes and our beautiful paver patio. We initially met with Jake who explained Cutting Edge's services and philosophy and discussed with us what we wanted. Last year we got bids from several other companies for the same job (including one who was supposed to install our patio last summer but did not follow through) and we had planned to interview several companies again. After meeting with Jake however, we decided to go with Cutting Edge and we are extremely glad we did. Jake listened to our ideas to insure the patio was to our liking and took measurements and exterior photos of our house and yard to insure the design was proportional to our home. After we reviewed the computer generated design and were given samples of the pavers to be used we were given a tentative start date subject to weather conditions. The owner of the company, Kevin, contacted us, kept us apprised of the start schedule, and was accessible to us throughout the project. He also came out to the job site to make sure all was going well. Despite some weather delays, the project was completed in less than five days. (It would have taken approximately 3 days if the weather had cooperated). Overall, we can't say enough good things about our experience with Cutting Edge Hardscapes. Beside the tangible factor of a beautiful patio (and at least one of us tends to be a perfectionist so our standards are high), there were other factors that made us glad we chose them. From the start, neither Jake nor Kevin made us feel (like other companies did) that our comparatively small job (which was a big deal to us) was not worth their time and effort. Their quote for the job was at the low end of other quotes we received and they offered more in terms of design and attention than any of the companies. Kevin, Jake and the crew were always polite and personable and the crew was hardworking. We appreciated that Kevin even states in writing that his crew will not swear, smoke, drink, etc. on the job. We also liked the fact that hardscapes are the only thing the company does--i.e., they don't also do lawn care and other tasks that take time away from a homeowner having their project completed in a timely manner. The crew cleaned their work area at the end of each day and re-seeded areas of the lawn that were effected by the work. Kevin met with us when the job was completed to verify that we were satisfied with the results, answered any questions, and reviewed with us the (minimal) care of the patio. Overall, we would highly recommend Cutting Edge Hardscapes.

They arrived early, worked consistently and finished quickly.

They were on time, efficient. They cleaned up each day before leaving and they finished on time. They took all product when they were finished and you couldn't tell they were ever here.

First I had a meeting with the designer, Jake, to discuss the project once I committed and paid a deport, Jake drew up detailed plans and a drawing. After the plans were finalized. I signed the contract. They began installation at the agreed upon date. The crew who installed the patio worked quickly & cleanly. Pergola connection (a few week later) also went well.

From first contact to final contact, this has been a great experience. Everything was explained in clear language from the beginning and the job was completed ahead of schedule. The new patio looks even better than I had expected. Very pleased with the installation and customer service.

Despite starling weeks behind schedule, the project moved a long quickly and efficiently. The crew did a good job of protecting the screened porch and landscaping and the finished product is stunning.

Using Angie's List, I contacted three providers to remove my wood deck and replace with a patio. One company rep, once he realized the modest scope of the project, could not leave my home fast enough. The remaining two almost were identical in cost, but Cutting Edge won me over because of their designer, Jake, and the fact that this is ALL they do, unlike most companies which also do landscaping. Jake was quite patient with me during our initial meeting (I would not be surprised if I set the record for most questions asked per square foot of the project), lasting more than an hour. Once I agreed to have them handle my project, the entire process went quite smoothly...from their projected timeline (which turned out to be EXACTLY what they estimated) to the total cost (no last-minute surprises or hidden charges). The software Jake used to design my patio was a 3D rendering of both the patio and my home and nearby trees. It allowed me to easily visualize the final product and after our second meeting (and many more questions from me), we made only minimal changes to Jake's original plan. The fact that he was able to turn my rough concepts into something I could see on my computer, made me quite comfortable that Cutting Edge was the right choice. Right on schedule, I was contacted that construction was going to begin on the date projected, and the email also included a very detailed document, laying out the entire construction process...what to expect, what I needed to do, etc. There were no surprises except for the fact that their hard-working staff (they arrived just before 8 a.m. each day and took minimal breaks) finished AHEAD of schedule. The biggest shock was when I looked out over my new patio and it was a near match for the 3D plan I had seen weeks earlier. Again, no surprises. After construction began, I was contacted by the owner, Kevin, suggesting a slight change to the original design. It was nothing major, but he felt this tweak would make the overall pattern a little less "busy." I agreed and was impressed Kevin had taken the time to review what had to be one of the smaller projects his company had undertaken. They already had me as a customer...work had begun...but they still were reviewing the project, trying to make it better. A few days after completion, Kevin visited me for a final inspection and to go over maintenance and "best practices" for my new patio. As with Jake, he was subjected to an hour of questions and he thoroughly answered each one. Finally, he left me with another detailed document, laying out the "care and feeding" of my new addition. Thanks to some nice weather in Indy, I have been able to enjoy the new patio for the past week or so, and it has had one additional advantage. Two neighbors I did not know very well stopped by in the past few days, asking if they could check out the new patio! This was a terrific experience from beginning to end for me and I could not be happier with the finished product and the excellent staff at Cutting Edge Hardscapes.

Cutting Edge Hardscapes laid a patio for us and was AWESOME! They showed up when they said they would, their guys worked really hard, they were very professional, and did a beautiful job. We were very happy with the end result. We were even happier when they came back to warranty a small problem we had, a true sign of a good legit company. We had a different paver company do a pool deck paver project for us the previous year and our experience was the exact opposite. They were far from professional, did a horrible job, and never fixed a drainage problem that they created, thus Cutting Edge was definitely a breath of fresh air. Pick the right companies to do your home improvement work and your life will be much easier! Trust me!

The crew was friendly and were hard workers. They were careful not to disturb the plants I wanted left in fact. When we had a concern about the symmetry of the steps, Kevin (the owner) came out that very evening to look at it and had the guy come the next day to set it right. We would highly recommend Cutting Edge with no reservations.

They did a fantastic job! It started with our designer, Jake, who did a great job of helping us select pavers and design the patio. He was very knowledgeable and was a pleasure to work with. He made sure we were comfortable with all decisions we needed to make and he made great suggestions throughout the process. When it came time for the installation, they did an awesome job! The patio looks fantastic. The crew did a great job of cleaning up each day they were there. We are very pleased with the process from start to finish. Kevin, the owner, personally came out after the project to walk us through the warranty information and to make sure we were happy with the final product.

It has been almost 3 months since our patio was installed and we LOVE it. Kevin and Jake were very helpful and were able to answer all of our questions in a timely manner. The crew that did the work was very professional and efficient. We felt very comfortable having them at our house when we were not home and they cleaned everything up very well afterwards. We get so many compliments on our patio. It was a big investment and we are very happy with how it turned out. We would use Cutting Edge for future projects and recommend them to friends and family.

Working with Jake, we started in March and they were very responsive for the initial visit and getting an idea of what we wanted. They wanted 10% down to do drafts, although they would do one for free, it just took a few weeks. Once they got the 10% down they would do as many drafts as we wanted. We were getting other bids and just requested the initial free draft. Jake had this done within the expected timeline and was very responsive to questions and with meeting. As the other companies we requested bids from were similar in price (and some were completely unresponsive), we decided to use Cutting Edge. We went through a few drafts on a computer simulator and once it was agreed upon they indicated it would likely be late May to early June, depending on the weather for them completing their existing jobs. They contacted us on Monday to begin the work on that Wednesday, which was a bit of a surprise, albeit a welcome one. They were able to get most of the job finished in 3 days. Our cable was cut on the first day as it seems someone did not come out to mark the underground cables, but this was fixed quite quickly by the cable company. They did have to return the next week to finish setting up the lighting and capstones. Overall we had a very good experience and are very pleased with the results.

Before they did anything, they wanted 10% down. If I wrote a review for Angie's List, they'd give me $400 which did not seem right. It was $4000 and we have to put 10% down before they gave me any firm numbers. I didn't like that.

The project went extremely well. Initially we met with Jake and he was very knowledgeable and personable. Other contractors couldn't guarantee that the project could be completed this fall. The 3D computer generated designs of the project helped us see exactly what the finished product would look like before they started. Cutting Edge was able to start the project even before the estimated start date. They completed the project in four work days which exceeded our expectations. After the project was completed, we did a final walk through with Kevin and he answered all of our question.

The actual installation was in October 2014, but a subsequent contractor damaged an electrical line to one of our patio lights; however, Kevin and his crew made sure it was fixed correctly. After many torrential downpours, and a full year of weather, the paver patio, fire pit, and wall are still fabulous. We have had NO pooling of water and are extremely happy with the results. In the past two years we've had quite a bit of home repair done and this contractor's crew is the best we've seen in terms of doing a perfect job, on time, on budget. We will definitely go to Cutting Edge Hardscapes in the future!

We were given an approximate date for when they were available to begin and in spite of bad weather conditions they were ready a week early. Services were performed as explained and workers were polite and cleaned up the area in great fashion. The quality of the workmanship is outstanding.
