CUTTING EDGE HARDSCAPES

We met with Jake on our initial appointment and his ideas were exactly what we were envisioning and his additional thoughts and ideas were excellent. He nailed what we were looking for on his first drawing! After making our down payment, we were told that construction would be in about 3-4 weeks. They were there the next Monday! What a pleasant surprise! Another family had not decided on their colors yet so we moved up on the schedule. The workers were hard workers...they seemed to pay attention to detail and cleaned up their areas each night during construction. Weather turned bad, so we haven't been able to use the fire pit, although, I enjoy it's view every day from my home. It is a great addition to my landscaping and I definitely picked the right company to for this construction! I will definitely use them in further landscaping projects and I will recommend them to my friends and family. They built a well constructed fire pit and the pavers around it are gorgeous. It goes to show that you definitely get what you pay for!!!

The owner, Kevin, educated me about types of pavers, the installation, and maintenance of a paver driveway. I selected permeable pavers for environmental reasons. Work began on schedule. My neighbor to the south was concerned about retained water getting into his basement, so I agreed to have drain tiles installed on his side of my driveway, with pipes going into my front and back yards to handle any excess water. This added to the expense, the mess, and resulted in a buried electrical cable being cut. The job was finished on time and with fairly good clean-up. Kevin demonstrated how to use a leaf blower to keep the driveway clean. My new driveway is beautiful, and even with the mess and expense, I am happy I did it.

My husband and I purchased a new home on May 31st. During the last week of May, we researched and interviewed several patio/landscaping companies. The company that won our business was Cutting Edge Hardscapes. The salesman, Jake, met with us at our home, spent lots of time asking us questions to ensure he had a good handle on our needs, budget, take measurements and discuss our visual likes and dislikes. Within a week, Jake met with us again to show us a detailed presentation on the company history, the differences between the various patio options, the start to finish process, a 3D, true to scale model of our patio and pricing. The work started on time and was completed before promised. The team was very professional, knowledgeable and worked harder than I'd ever seen. Our patio was no simple task. We wanted top of the line pavers (three different types/colors) with a border surrounding the entire patio, rounded stairs coming off of the home, a fire pit with surrounding rounded seating, limestone toppers on the edges, an area for the hot tub (that had not been delivered yet), and a separate seating area. The attention to detail was unbelievable. Everything was done by hand. No machinery. They are true artists who have mastered their trade. The owner, Kevin, talked to us throughout the process and came out to our home upon completion to ensure our satisfaction and to go over all of the necessary information to maintain the beauty and care of our new outdoor living space. He displayed great care in his company, his team, the quality and above all, US. He was always easy to communicate with, listened to everything we said and made it his mission to get the patio done to our level of expectation. Our patio is absolutely spectacular and we just love it! Kevin continually checks in with us to make sure we are happy and has gone above and beyond anything I'd expected. He even suggested I contact the Noblesville Fire Chief to see if we needed a permit for the fire pit. He was right and I'm so grateful for his insight! I would recommend Cutting Edge Hardscapes to anyone and welcome the opportunity to show our patio as a reference.

We worked with Jake on the design. He was very helpful and easy to work with. He promptly made changes and even gave us several options to choose from. I can't say enough about the work crew. Very hard working, courteous guys. The patio looks great and they left everything spotless when they were done. Would definitely recommend them.

Decision made at install time to make one taller wall when foreman arrived. Due to property line constraints, he felt 2 walls was not appropriate. Work done was outstanding. I did feel that some cost savings could have been past back to me since one taller built instead of 2 short walls. But I did not want to offend anyone because I will use this business again. Great job.

The salesman came multiple times, answering questions and presenting options for type of materials he recomended as well as getting our ideas for what the walkways should look like. We had to tweak the design a few times to get it right. The crew came out soon after we agreed to everything and had the pavers delivered. There were 3-4 workers on-site every day until the job was done. I think the work was done in 3-5 days. The crew was very friendly and hard working. They made quite a mess but cleaned it up and now you can't tell at all. All in all a very satisfying experience. we felt that the company and employees were very honest and forthcoming with information. We would hire them again if we need similar services.

The designer/estimator, Dave, came out and talked to us about our vision for the project, then took measurements. He came back a few days later with beautiful 3D interactive graphic drawings. He was very low-pressure with us and let the company's previous projects do the selling. We were left with catalogs to decide on paver and wall block, and Dave came back with block samples so we could see them in the real-life setting. Once we made our decision, we had to wait about 4-5 weeks for construction to begin. Once the crew got started, everything went really quickly. They were working only on our project and worked long, hard days. We were really impressed with their professionalism and courtesy, as well as their outstanding craftsmanship. From start to finish, they only took 3-1/2 days to build us a beautiful patio, firepit, and retaining wall. As I write this review 6 months later, I am still completely satisfied with the quality of the construction. I recommend Cutting Edge Hardscapes without reservation.

Kevin was very helpful in providing a design and suggestions of what would look good. He gave a complete estimate and was understanding of budget issues. The company was able to start work within a week and completed the project promptly. The workers were professional and kept the worksite clean. The patio is beautiful and we are very happy with the results.

I had to contact Cutting Edge twice to see if they were interested in coming out to quote. Dave came out and spent time looking at the project, measuring and we talked about incorporating my ideas, but I was also looking for a professional and what ideas they could come up with. We went inside and he pulled out his laptop and we looked at some jobs Cutting Edge had done while he was started to draw a rough design. I thought, Man! This will be good! Well, he never contacted us again with a plan or anything. Guess they didn't want the business.

They were wonderful. Kevin came out right away to give us an estimate on correcting a poorly made patio (understatement). He gave us an estimate in an email with a picture of what it would look like. My husband and I appreciated his explanations and advice with how to make the patio look nice. Before construction started he even emailed us a "What to expect" brochure and it spelled out what to do during and after construction to keep everything working well. They even suggested keeping our garage door up to make sure it didn't shake during the concrete demo. It was nice that they told us so much, we didn't know what to expect as this is our first home. They came out earlier than anticipated, since the weather is unseasonably warm. Kevin told us the crew would be here at 8, and they were right on time and ready to work. I was surprised at how quick and quiet they were. I didn't know demolishing concrete could be done so fast. They removed every last stone and even took away this 3ft by 3ft square before I asked them. Then they took the dirt from digging out the patio and put in the low levels of our new yard, I had talked to them earlier about our wanting to go buy topsoil and they reused our land for us and saved us money, it was very thoughtful. And they sorted out the "good" (sans concrete rubble) soil for my vegetable garden and put it by my garden so I could use it. They put the stones down quickly and worked very efficiently. If I didn't look out the window, I would not have noticed them. They were so quiet! I liked how nice they were to my 10 month old daughter, she had a ball watching them work and they always waved to her and talked to her as they worked. Kevin was flexible as well because we added on the garage side yard project after they started the patio. Even with the extra project they were finished by Friday afternoon. My neighboors couldn't believe how quick they were. I also appreciated how they cleaned up after themselves. We were very impressed and will be using Cutting Edge for all our of our outdoor needs. They are a top notch company. The patio and walkway look wonderful.

Working with Kevin was one of the best part of this entire project. If weather allowed they worked from sunrise to sunset. The quality of the work was amazing. They completed the project in less time than expected. Love, love, love the driveway and patio. We chose Cutting Edge over other companies because all they do is hardscape. We wanted the paver driveway but had concerns about it being done correctly. Kevin explained everything to me in a manner where I felt confident and comfortable with the process. No regrets. We could have gotten it done cheaper but not with the same level of quality.

Kevin Schluchter quickly responded to my call for an appointment to provide an estimate for a new patio made of paving stones. He showed up on time and was very professional. He brought a computer which he put measurements into and then generated a color drawing of what the patio area would look like. He also brought 2 paving stone catalogs and left them with me. Within a matter of days he submitted a proposal with what turned out to be a very competitive price. I didn't end up using Cutting Edge because I decided to go with stamped concrete for the patio and driveway, which cost less than having only the patio done in pavers. I didn't want to create a beautiful patio which would butt up against a crumbling asphalt driveway, cheapening the patio.

It was a little difficult to get a response from Cutting Edge Hardscapes, both in setting up the initial consultation appointment and then in getting them to send the estimate. I had to call and/or e-mail them several times for both. Other than that, Cutting Edge Hardscapes was very professional and even did a CAD design mock-up of the patio design at the first meeting. They didn't offer a lot of suggestions, but basically built the design based on my original idea. The fact that their prices were quite a bit higher than the other comapnies we had spoken to, they didn't offer any suggestions for improving the patio design, and that they were a little hard to get a response from prompted us to pick a different company for the work.

Owner came out to look at our project and said he'd get back to us with an estimate. We never heard from him again. If our job was one he didn't want, why didn't he just tell us so. I consider his lack of communication unprofessional.

He drew up a plan, I hemmed and hawed, then I had him back to draw up something smaller but I never heard from him again. I’m not sure if he lost interested because I was so weird about it or if it wasn’t worth it to him once the job was smaller. I liked him pretty well the first time around because he seemed professional, he gave me the quote quickly, and he had a presentation on his computer so I could see what it would look like. I couldn’t decide what I wanted so I asked him a lot of questions.

I spent $7000. The price was a lot more than the quote but it was due to unforeseen circumstances. I liked the person who came out and gave me a comprehensive quote. Everything was good. I will use them in the future.

Their design and workmanship were really good. I would use their services in the future too.

They did an exceptionally good job. The job was of the highest quality and they were very professional. They came out the same day I called to give a quote and did the work the following week. The crew that came to build the patio did a wonderful job.

Overall, we didn't use them because we ended up using a different material from a different provider, but they were also on the high end for the bid. They were, however, professional and easy to work with.

David Freeney was our contact. He came out to measure, and take notes on our requests. He had very good ideas and was very positive about this company and their work. He gave a ball park estimate of what he thought it might cost. It took him several weeks to come back with our estimate. The proposal was all done on computer with wonderful graphics of the exterior of our home an space. The estimate was quite a bit more than his verbal ball park. He did not address some of our requests and tried to modify the computer graphics and estimate as we waited. Finally he said he would get back to us with the modified estimate and drawings. When those modifications came 3 weeks later, they still were not what we requested as far as size and features, and the proposed price had gone up again.

Kevin was great. I would not hesitate to use them. We simply found another top rated company that was cheaper.

Kevin answered the phone when I called to get a quote. He schedule a time to come out right then on the phone. He showed up on time and was very knowledgeable on the subject on patios. He had a very nice computer presentation and was able to provide a very fair quote right on the spot. We ended up going in a different direction so we did not use his services, but if you are wanting a paver patio he seems to be the guy to go to for that.

Kevin was very flexible around our busy schedule and met with us numerous times, working many variations of a plan to fit my budget. Although I ended up spending 4-5K more than I original wanted, it was the right plan that fit what we really wanted. Kevin personally showed up on the job numerous times to discuss questions we had and to ensure things were progressing. His team worked extremely hard, well into the dark a few nights. Kevin was also very flexible dealing with my irrigation system and landscaping, making a few adjustments to accommodate the patio. Kevin and hit team also returned to make some changes to stone cuts that we requested to ensure high customer satisfaction. Overall, it was a great experience. The quality is great.

The owner of the company came and gave us a very comprehensive presentation about his company and the products he uses. He had plenty of photos of they work they've done. He gave us a very fair price, and we accepted the bid, and a couple of days later they arrived right on schedule to get the work started. His crew is hardworking and very pleasant. They got the job done very quickly, and we are extremely pleased with it. It's beautiful!

Excellent. Kevin and Ricardo were great to work with. They did a great job designing the project and managing it from start to finish. The quality and results and value for our money were all great.
