He was prompt. Called me ahead to let me know he was on his way. He's very pleasant. Installed the fixture and explained why I hadn't been able to do it myself. If you need an electrician, I'd call Chris Quagliesi (say 'kwag-lee-see') at 317-508-6935 or email him at currentelectric@gmail.com right away! He's great.
Description of Work: He installed a new outdoor security light. He was great! Very professional and took the time to answer some questions about some outdoor outlets.

Chris was punctual and efficient. During our initial consultation, Chris took the time to explain the differences in types of wiring, cables, routing etc. I felt great about his knowledge and experience. I had only 2 outlets in my 2 car garage. There is a water softener in the corner next to the hot water tank but no outlet close. The previous owners had an extension cord to the water softener hanging across the entire back wall. Chris installed a dedicated outlet for the water softener, and 2 additional outlets on the outside wall as we discussed. The pricing was fair and exactly what he quoted me in our initial consultation. I will be hiring Chris again and the spring to complete a barn wiring project. I would definitely recommend Current Electric to anyone looking for a quality electrician. Honest and pleasant. Thumbs up.

Chris very punctual and honest. He worked in an a emergency job for me in between other jobs. Mine was a complete bathroom tear out and I was stuck unless he could come the next day, which he did. Chris did the required work for drywall people to come, then Cris returned the next week to finish work. He actually did more than I contracted him for no extra charge. Chris did an excelleny job of cleaning up each time. My neighborhood association even uses him now for the common areas, per my recommendation.
Description of Work: Rewired 1st floor bathroom, lighting, outlets, exhaust fan, changed wiring in a couple other areas.

My contractor told him I was an honest person who would pay him if it was warranted. Of course Chris knew he would not be paid again to correct his own mistake, despite my generous offer to find more paid work for him to do on the same visit. I didn't feel I should have to hire another electrician at $100/hr to fix it. When I saw my contractor at the Home Show, he called Chris and again asked him to make it right, but he never did. 4.5 months have now passed and Chris has not stood behind his work. I waited a long time to post this review because I truly liked Chris and was hoping he would come through for me. It's really too bad, because it soured what would otherwise have been a fairly good experience and review. Finally, my kind contractor offered to come over with his own tall ladder to correct the problem himself, without pay! Eventually I had another electrician come to do some work and he noted that my previous electrician had incorrectly installed our 2 new ceiling fans. Chris had wired them into rheostats which had controlled the speed of the old fan blades, but were now acting as a dimmer for the new fan lights. The new electrician stated that the rheostats should have been replaced by regular wall switches, and the lights only dimmed with the remote. Otherwise when the light is dimmed with the rheostat, it also dims the power to the fan motor, and it won't run right or last as long. I remember showing Chris that the rheostats were dimming the fan lights (which I actually thought liked at the time) and he did not say he would need to replace them. The new electrician also confirmed that Chris was wrong when he stated he installed halogen flood light bulbs in the recessed lights in the basement. Previously I had questioned Chris about this and he had insisted that he was using halogen bulbs. The new electrician stated the bulbs used were incandescent floods.
Description of Work: I was given Chris' name by my contractor and hired him on 2 separate occasions. To be fair, the first experience was quite good, but unfortunately, the second was not so good. On the first visit, Chris installed recessed lighting in our basement, a hood over the range, a ceiling fixture, and a few other minor items. I asked him to move and replace an exterior floodlight which was directly in front of a double hung window since we were replacing it with a casement window. The window company would not be able to install it with the floodlight in the way, and the new window would not be able to open even if they could. Chris removed the old flood light and did not have the proper replacement fixture. He said it would be better to wait until the new window is in because he would hate to find out he hadn't moved the fixture far enough, which turned out to be a very ironic concern. He put electrical tape on the dangling wires and told me to call him after the windows were done. On his second visit, Chris replaced 2 ceiling fans, installed a wall-mounted ironing board, replaced our 3 exterior floodlights (moving 1) and a few other minor things. Working on the outside of the house, Chris supposedly moved the flood light out of the way of our new casement window, but never checked his work. I instructed him to aim 1 light on the driveway and the other into the backyard. He did not have a round plate with him to cover up the old hole, so he placed a rectangular plate over it, saying he would switch it out for a round one "next time", which was presumptuous as we did not have a "next time" planned. After his visit, I found I could only open the window 1 inch, because the light was too close. I couldn't reach out the window to correct it myself and didn't have a ladder tall enough to reach the roofline. This was a fire escape hazard. I called Chris who apologized and said he'd come fix it Fri. or Mon., but he never showed up. I called or e-mailed every 2 weeks asking him to correct it, but he never did. Once he answered his cell when I called and said he had hurt his knee and would come, but he never did. Concerned, I contacted his assistant who said he was OK and he'd have him call me, but he didn't. He wouldn't even return my contractor's calls. Finally my contractor ran into him at the Home Show and discussed my situation with him. Chris apparently told him I had changed my mind about where I wanted the floodlight, as if anyone would actually believe that I instructed him to place it so that my window would only open 1 inch, then changed my mind. Then the truth came out when Chris expressed concern that he might not be paid if he came out to fix it.
