Description of Work: Set traps on the ground for raccoons. Caught squirrels instead. Made excuses about squirrels heing the culprit. Quietly removed the traps without saying anything. Don't bother using them.

45 good reviews and finally 1 not happy. Customer claimed he had noise in the attic. 2 quirrels were caught the first day. Customer refused to pay me to relocate them. I released the squirrels and they immediately went back up on the roof into the attic. Now those 2 squirrels are trap shy. I left the traps four more nights and caught nothing. I called and left a message that he needed to repair multiple entry points before I could do any more. The customer said during the first service call that his home needed about $10, 000 worth of roof, gutter and soffit repairs. There was nothing more I could do until some major repairs are done.

The customer had a mole eating up a section of a manicured front yard. It took a few trips and re-setting of multiple traps to finally get the nuisance animal. Although I charge the same for catching moles as I do for most any other animal, I can assure you my charges are way below average. My fees are the lowest I know of in the Indianapolis area. I can understand how charges of catching small animals might be perceived as pricy. Setting mole traps and making additional trips to re-set traps however is time consuming back breaking work. Considering cost and the fact that I made four trips to their home, I believe my fees were a bargain.

8 animals removed...... This is a bit unusual...... Behind the customers home was a strip mall with restaurants and a Kroger. The restaurants and Kroger do not close their dumpsters. The businesses are attracting wild animals. To make matters worse the strip mall has a small pond. All the animal needed was shelter. The customers property had a small patch of trees and a wood deck in the back yard. This gave the animals a perfect wildlife habitat. I felt sorry for the customer having to deal with this big problem. I fault the businesses for not closing their dumpsters and attracting all the animals in the first place.

The problem was very common. A raccoon had entered the attic thru a 24" round attic vent. I set a cage trap close to the vent. It was captured within a few days. I re-set the another trap in case there was more than one raccoon. After a few more days, the customer said all the attic noise was gone. I removed the cage trap. This all went well and as planned. I was happy and more important, the customer was happy.

I am glad someone finally spelled out my usual fees here. Initial service call and per animal charges. Some services are priced differently different such as removing birds from vents or getting a muskrat colony out of some ponds. The last time I checked (a few months ago) my basic fees were still the lowest in the Indianapolis area.

Description of Work: Affordable Wildlife came and assessed that I had squirrels in the attic. He walked the roof and went into the attic. He put traps outside on the roof. After about 2 weeks he did not catch anything, so I asked him to remove the traps. Here's the kicker, HE GAVE ME BACK $45 because he did not catch anything. | |He also told me how the squirrels were getting in and suggested a method to cut off their way of entry. I appreciated that!

I was originally called out to look for a dead animal under the patio deck. The underside of the deck was completely enclosed with chicken wire to prevent larger animals from getting underneath. No person could get under the deck without removing the chicken wire. Even if the chicken wire was removed, the slope of the ground still would not allow anyone to get underneath very far. I have a very powerful flashlight and could see nothing dead under the deck. After some time of investigation outside and inside, I determined that there was no animal under the deck at all. The smell was coming from under under the kitchen sink inside the house. The smell was most likely a dead mouse in the exterior wall behind the kitchen sink. The choices were to wait a week for the dead mouse smell to go away or tear out a wall behind the sink. The Mrs. agreed with me, it was better to wait for the smell to go away rather than tear out a wall in her custom built kitchen. In any case, trying to remove the chicken wire and actually crawling under the deck would have proved a waste of time and effort. The smell was definitely coming from under and behind the kitchen sink inside the house.

As I recall this customer was already trapping and baiting mice. All he needed was more bait or traps in more locations especially along walls and in corners where mice tend to run. At least an a full home inspection did not reveal any bigger problems.

We looked them up on Angie's List. I have a very good experience with them. It was expensive. They came when they said they were going to come. They cleaned up the mess the other one left. They were courteous and thorough. They did a good job. There's no more bats or birds because they can't get in.

The birds nest was huge. Removing it and scraping up bird feces filled two large trash bags. Birds nest and droppings are a histoplasmosis risk. A disposable hazmat suit and respirator were required. The respirator filters had to be replaced afterwards. This did drive up the cost a bit.
