Crawlspace Doctor

I was very happy with my experience. I had several companies come out and give estimates, but Kevin is really who sold me on the Crawl Space Doctor. You could tell Kevin really knew his stuff, and when he looked at my crawl space he was truly analyzing it to see what solution fit my situation; whereas, the other companies came in with a pre-set solution they were going to try and sell you. I was very impressed with Kevin. When the work was performed, Matt showed up and he was a very nice/personable person. We talked through everything that was going to be done, he was up front on time frames of when they'd leave and when they'd show up the next day. I felt very comfortable with him performing the work. He even followed up with me and delivered the paperwork I had requested so I'd have proper proof to qualify for the energy credit on my federal taxes. My only complaints would be the following: 1. When Kevin was selling me the work, he gave me the impression that we would get a $500 energy credit, which was not correct. There is UPTO a $500 energy credit, but based on the rules we'd actually only get $100 credit. That's a big difference, but in the end I had lots of piece of mind with going with them so it didn't end up bothering me much. 2. It would have been good if they would cleaned the vapor barrier in the crawl space better when they were done. There bits of insulation and dirt on the vapor barrier that I cleaned since I wanted to use the crawl for storage. Overall they cleaned up well - I guess I just like things a little cleaner.

During our home inspection, we discovered that our insulation was incorrectly installed. Crawlspace Doctor came in and removed the insulation that was installed incorrectly. They did a number of things to really take care of us and do it in a hurry. We were preparing for a large move out of state and they were able to adapt to our time frame. Crawlspace Doctor was wonderful in helping us to prepare our home for sale. They jumped to schedule so that we could meet our real estate turn around times. They were magnificiant in what they did, how they did it, what they charged, and were extraordinary helpful to us during difficult times. Their price was more than fair for all that they accomplished for us. Working with Crawlspace Doctors was one of the best experiences we have ever had with any service provider. I would highly recommend this company.

I normally don?t take the time to write these up as most vendors are average. I do write up the real bad ones and the very good. Not many make the very good category. The Crawlspace Doctor (Matt) is one of the best service companies I?ve ever dealt with over the last 30 years. Matt spent a great amount of time explaining, photographing and estimating our problem. He was successful at getting the water and dampness out of our crawlspace. The space is bone dry now and the job was completed on time. Our problem was unique as a few years ago another crawlspace company had done a very poor job putting up a barrier. Matt came in and fixed their errors for a very reasonable price. Matt is excellent at communication both email and voice. He is one of the few vendors I?ve ever used who called back to see how the problem was going AFTER the final check. In order to upgrade the air quality in my home I had several improvements made that included the crawlspace. Shannon came to my house, explained what they will do and provided an estimate. We scheduled a time to do the work and as it turned out I was out of town while they were there. I returned to find an excellent job and I was more than satisfied. I did however notice one item I had a question on and took a couple of pictures. I emailed them to Matt and received a call the next morning. Shannon came back to the house the same day and examined the item I had a question on. He made certain I was completely satisfied with their work and was very professional. I highly recommend all homeowners who have a crawlspace to contact Crawlspace Doctor as it will help your air quality and eliminate all the problems water will eventually cause.

I have put this job off for several months, but Matt honored the estimate given in March. On the morning the work was to begin, my mother was visiting and discovered her car had been stolen the night before. I had already left for work. She was very upset and Shannon helped her dial 911 and contact me at work. We were both grateful to him fo rhis help and kindess. Shannon was at my house for several days until the work was completed. Matt came back to accompany me to the crawl space to inspect the job at my convenience (after work hours). We both went down to the small, cramped space (I can't believe the work that was performed in this small space--some kind of magic trick if you ask me). It was beautiful if you could say such a thing about a crawl space. Clean, sealed and everything working properly. Matt explained everything that was done. He also worked with me on payments so I could afford to do this. I am certain this will make a huge difference in my heating bills. The first floor of my townhome has been during the winter months.

The Salesman Kevin was nice. However; the picture he shows of the moisture barrier is different than it actually looks: the picture appears as an all white flat wall (similar to wallpaper). The actual is all white with plastic strips attached to each piece, and silver screws in the middle of white plastic "buttons" to hold the product to the wall. On the first day of the job, 3 men arrived. They were punctual on the first day only. The other 2 days-they arrived late. One man had a bad attitude and his work was sloppy. He overcut holes for pipes and electricity then tore moisture tape all rippled and crooked and tried to cover the holes. When Kevin came to inspect: he gave me a roll of the tape so I could re-do it. The worker also did not finish in 2 areas, so Kevin had him come back to finish the job. The worker also did not replace my "skirting" on the side of steps or replace the handrail, as Kevin said they would do. Kevin talked with the worker and had him come back to finish the job. We bought a battery back-up for the sump pump which they did not have and had to come back to install a couple of weeks later. Now that it is all finished, it seems ok - but I hated that I had to deal with man who didn't do the job right the 1st time. That would be my main complaint. We are going through a dry spell right now - so I hope that when it pours rain all is well and we will then be ~very happy~ that we had this done. I will write again if all is well or not.

We had water problems in our tri-level home at the end of february and after talking with several companies Crawlspace Doctor gave me the best overall assessment and estimate. They installed the water barrier in the crawl space first which was done in a timely manner and within the estimated cost. They performed the water proofing for one side of our family room which is partially below ground. They were late getting started because of all the rain we were getting in May and once they found out we had relocated our air conditioning so they could excavate based on the original start date they reduced our bill by the amount of our bill to the air conditioning company. They didn't have to do that but Matt Deiters new we had been inconvienanced and wanted to make it right. After the work was completed we had a heavy rain and we received a small amount of water in one corner of the family room were the work had been done. Once the company was contacted they came out the same morning to assess the problem and made additional corrections to fix the problem.

We have been fighting this battle for 2 years now. I have had to redo carpet and tiles every time we had any sort of moisture form. They came in and gave us an assessment, and then called to follow up a day later. We scheduled the appointment, and they came and were in and out in about 3 hours. My wife and children were at home alone that day, and the guys who came to do the work were amazing! My wife called and told me that they went above and beyond the call and that she felt overly comfortable all day long, and was not stressed about having workers in our house. They also did a large amount of haul away for us, which was not agreed upon, but they did it with no questions asked. My basement is now movie central, as well as a huge play area for my kids. For 2 years in was wasted square footage in our house, and now it is our preferred area. Crawlspace Doctor gets an A++ from us, and I will recommend them to anyone who asks! They took pictures of the old crawlspace and figured out what exactly was the problem and told us exactly what it would be and they were going to do and that was very good. They gave the estimate before they did the work. I had contacted another company but they said that they would be charging $300 for just coming and sorting what the problem was and these guys were really nice and they didn’t charge me anything extra. I would rate them high overall. Their price was reasonable. They were very good and punctual because they came in the same day when they were supposed to and they tore down everything in one day and redid it one day and I was very pleased with them. One of the supervisors also came in to check the work and that was impressible. I would use them again in the future if needed.

This is one of those companies you can't wait to tell everyone about. They do business with real ethics and real quality. We have a large home with a failed foundation and had standing water in the finished basement. The amount of work to be done was enormous and many skills needed to properly complete the job. It would take pages to explain the process involved but let's leave it to say that this company can fix the worst of problems with a basement, crawlspace, and/or foundation. They were very knowledgeable and worked very closely with us to make certain we were aware of everything going on and to assure our satisfaction with all phases of the project. They paid close attention to every detail, were very careful to protect our home and belongings, kept everything very clean and left it spotless when they were done. We were lucky enough to have Bill as the team leader (and my new friend) on the project and can not say enough good things about him and his crew. In addition, Matt, the owner, was ontop of the project and stayed in contact with use throughout the job. I am certain I have missed so much but our experience with the Crawlspace Doctor was outstanding from beginning to end and I am happy to answer and requests you may have about the job they did.

They were excellent and exceptional. They did everything that they said they were going to do. They did not pressure us to make any decisions. When we told them that we were not going to do everything that they quoted, they were fine with that.

Bill from Crawlspace Doctor was wonderful to work with. He did a professional job and is quite close to being a perfectionist. So far, the basement is now water-free.

There was a partial stoppage in the drain outside from the sump pump. A root of a tree had edged into a crack and it wasn?t seal draining efficiently. It was done very quickly and efficiently.

In 2008, Crawlspace Doctor installed a french drain, vapor barrier, new sump, etc for our flooding crawlspace. In 2011, a rubber clamp of some sort on the sump had worked itself loose over the years. Matt responded to my inquiry the same day and sent out a worker to fix it the following day. The repair was made under the warranty. The repair took only minutes to perform. We're ready for the Spring rains again.

The team showed up as scheduled on time on Monday Morning. It was one of the finest work crew I have had the pleasure of meeting. They were well versed on what had to be done and went directly to work. They showed up on time every morning throughout the week. They answered any questions that I had at any time. I was extremely pleased with not only the work that they did but they way they went about it. When completed a CD was made showing the crawl space prior to them working and the completed job.

Matt did a thorough inspection and took "before" pictures which convinced my husband that the work did indeed need to be done. He was able to work us in his schedule to accomodate the already scheduled siding replacement, when we realized that it would be best to complete the crawlspace work first. We really appreciate that he was professional and very good at communicating with us. He also took "after" pictures..the difference really does tell the whole story. Most people with homes of any age at all likely do not realize how awful their crawlspace is! Chuck was the person who did almost all of the work and he really did work very hard and did a nice job.

The service was performed in a highly professional manner and in a timely fashion. No complaints. Would recommend to a friend.

Matt was prompt to give me a quote. He looked over the whole crawl space and discussed its state. I has called because of some rotten wood, but showed me signs of rodent intrusion. He recommended the work actually done and offered vapor barrier/insulation options, but never pushed them. They were prompt the day the work was to be performed. The crew put down runners to keep the floor clean. The work was performed quickly. I was asked if I wanted to get in the crawlspace to see the work (I did). The work looked very good. Before they left, Matt confirmed I was happy with everything and that everything was properly cleaned up. They were very clean! He even CHARGED LESS than the original quote because the project went better than expected. Highly recommended.

Estimator was on-time, professional, and very informative of what work needed to be done on our crawlspace. He even showed us pictures of the nasty mold on the floorboards and a detailed plan of work to be done. The owner of the business did the actual work of insulating. He was punctual, friendly, and very competent. He did an excellent job and performed the exactly as promoted, providing pictures for proof. We definitely will call Crawlspace Doctor again if we need work done. And I am definitely looking forward to having a warmer kitchen this winter! Thank you for your help!

The work was done on time and they were vary professional. Would reccomend them highly.

I had water and beginning mold in my crawl space. the sump pump was not working and had been put in improperly. The front hydrant was leaking water into the crawl space and the area at the front door had worked away from the door and some water was leaking into the crawl space. All of this was repaired. The work was more extensive than anticipated because of all the cable, water and other lines in the ground around my house. He came back on Saturday to complete the job. They did not charge any more for the extended time or repairs. They were honest, timely and courteous.

I called Matt (The Doctor) after noticing the baseboards in my basement adjacent to our crawl space had water damage. Even though he was very busy, Matt came out within a couple days to take a look. Our crawl space was in bad shape, from sump pump and drainage issues to insulation issues that were beginning to cause mold. Matt was very friendly and personable, but also very professional. When he came into the house he removed his shoes and asked for a towel to sit on so he wouldn't get dust on the upholstery. He documented all our issues with photos and then walked us through them very thoroughly and explained our options. The team who performed the work were courteous, professional and efficient. It took about three days to complete the job and every night the supplies and equipment were left very neatly stacked out of our way in the back yard. When the work was done, Matt came back, took new photos and showed us our new crawl space. It looks fantastic! I never would have considered going down there before, but now I'd happily use it as extra storage space. I highly recommend Matt and his team. They were a pleasure to work with.

We had a good experience. They were diligent in completing the work in a timely manner. We had an animal in our crawl space so they did have to come back to repair the damage caused by the animal. They were able to catch it, and we are happy with the results.

Before and after pictures were taken and the result was amazing! Matt fully explained the work & the fee was very reasonable, plus his work exceded my expectations. A+ all around!
