+ 0 moreI have used Cook's Glass several times over 10 years to replace glass in my rental properties, and I can't recommend them highly enough. A+++! They have done everything from replacing a large picture window in a house that had been vandalized before I purchased it to this recent job, which is an upgrade I wanted to make because I have never found an applied glass frosting product (spray or film) with any longevity for a window in a bathtub surround. Their prices are excellent and their service is outstanding. Nice, knowledgeable people who are very helpful and great to work with.

I called them on 5/5/14, within a couple of days they came out and measured the window, I okayed proceeding with ordering the replacement glass , which they did and they called to say they had received the glass and gave the total cost of replacement. We scheduled an appointment for them to come to replace the glass on 5/28/14 at 9:00am. On 5/28 they called about 9:10 am to say they were running late and would be here in 5 minutes. They took the window out and took it to their truck to replace the glass and had it back in less than a half an hour. They advised me not to clean it for a couple of days. The workers were professional and courteous. I have used Cooks on more than one occasion in the past as I live on a golf course and have had wayward golf balls break windows. They have always provided the same prompt, professional, reasonably priced, dependable service .

+ -1 morewas hoping to be able to afford this company when I began the bidding process. As it turns out, they were the low bidder and performed excellent work in a professional and timely manner.
Description of Work: Installed 17 thermo-pane window panes and 1 arch window replaced by manufacturer under warranty. Returned in December to remove and replace the arch window a second time because manufacturer originally sent the wrong size. No charge for second trip.

+ 1 moreThey were very busy when I called and could not give me an exact date they could come out to give me an estimate. I was a little worried at first. They ended up coming out a few days later and gave us a very fair estimate. The work was completed, they cleaned up their mess, and even helped fix a window that was sticking when you tried to open it. They were great and I will use them again!!
Description of Work: They replaced the glass on 3 windows that were cracked and put in some new screens.

+ -1 moreThis company is one of the few places in Indianapolis that will repair double pane windows. I took the windows in myself and it took them about a week to get them rebuilt. These were old windows that I didn't think anyone could or would repair. But they were able to do it for $55 each - a little pricier than I expected, but much cheaper than pulling the entire window out and replacing it. You'll get a kick out of their cat that lays on the counter, expecting customers to pet it when you are there.... They are a great small business to support.

+ -1 moreCovered in previous statement. It is clear that I am not getting anywhere with this owner.
Description of Work: Cook glass was contracted to replace a 72x36 half round low E palladium window in my home. The window was ordered on 6/23/11 due to the seal failure of the existing glass. The repair people were punctual and friendly. Upon the installation of the new glass, which was glued into place, I was instructed not to clean the window for 4-6 weeks until the product had fully sealed. After waiting for approximately 6+ weeks I requested the assistance of my brother to come out and secure the ladder on the outside of my home in order to clean, caulk and paint the exterior trim of the window in question. It was in that process that I was able to verify the existence of a long (30" or more) scratch along the bottom edge of the window about three inches from the bottom. I had noticed the marking prior to cleaning but was unable to get on a ladder without someone being present. Once I realized that the markings were not dirt but an actual scratch in the glass I called Cook's glass and left several messages for Mr. Cook. Once he returned my call, he agreed to have his installer check the window. After several days, I followed up with Mr. Cook who was very rude and denied that the window was defective and in fact accused the painter of getting paint on the glass and then scraping it off! Since I was the painter, I explained to him that that was NOT the case but rather an excuse from him. Since that time I have placed several calls to Mr. Cook personally the most recent of which on 9/19, 10/11, 10/21 and 11/4. None of these calls have been acknowledged or returned by Mr. Cook or a representative of his company. I am very disappointed in his attitude and lack of business ethics. I have been in business for over 40 years and certainly don't treat my customers in this way. Before I go to small claims court, I would like for Angie's list dispute resolution department to follow up with this company. Cook's glass certainly doesn't appear to be anyone that you would recommend or endorse.

+ -1 moreMy oldest cat can open the door letting himself out and my other two cats which are suppose to stay in which prompted the latch repair. The screen door is over 20 years old and parts were hard to find. They were able to locate what was needed to complete the repair. I am very satisfied with the workmanship and how I was treated.
Description of Work: I had Cook's install new screen material, which I supplied because it was a heavy plastic material for pets. They also repaired the latch for holding the door closed.

+ -1 moreThey were great! I called them around 3:30 p.m. on a Friday to repair a glass pane in our door that had been broken during a burglary earlier that day. They were able to send a repairman over to take measurements, go out and get the right materials, and install the new glass all by 5:00 p.m. I was so relieved to have it fixed that afternoon and not have to worry about securing our house over the weekend. They really went out of their way to get it done on extremely short notice. Price was a little high, but it was an emergency and covered by insurance, so that wasn't really a concern.
Description of Work: Replaced 9 square inch glass windows in door broken during burglary.

Description of Work: They built a screen replacement for a door that had been trashed by me, a dog and years of abuse. Rebuilt the screen component and also cut a piece of lexan plastic that I installed as a guard for the dog.

+ -1 moreWhen the original glass shattered, we tried to locate a Majestic dealer; apparently this company was purchased by Vermont Castings. Next, we tried all Vermont Castings dealers - we called dealers in Indianapolis, Brownsburg and Crawfordsville. Most of those folks offered to replace the fireplace altogether - the cost would have been way out of our budget. After getting no where, we tried Cook's. They were fast, friendly and efficient!
Description of Work: Cook's replaced the tempered glass in my Majestic fireplace door, which had shattered this past winter. As Majestic is a factory-built fireplace, and was probably installed back in the late 70's or early 80's, it was difficult to locate any dealers who would just replace the doors. Cook's listened to my dilemma, and asked me to bring the doors in; they replaced the glass, installed it, and had it ready for me to pick up in 48 hours.

+ -1 moreI just received communication from my renter that the glass replaced on the front door is not beveled and does not match the side glass windows. She called them to have them install the storm door and they said they did not take it off. Also she said they did not repair the screens on the back two doors as well. Prior to my communication with my renter, I called Cooks and they said they took care the concerns. As of today I have paid Cook's Glass $440 and I would like the glass placed with the beveled glass removed and the back patio door screens replaced. I took care of the front storm door myself.
Description of Work: I clearly communicated to Cook's glass to replace the front door damaged windows with the glass that was damaged. Also I clearly communicated to install the front screen door. I also asked them to replace the damaged screens on the back two sliding screen doors.

I did have to call them following the stated time, but, the installer scheduled for the next day and completed the service, with an assistant, at the agreed upon time and in an effecient and professional manner.
