Controlled Rain Systems

On the "Contact Us" page of the CRS website there is a link that says, "We also have an easy to complete form that will be sent directly to our office - click here to complete and we will contact you promptly". I clicked the link, filled out the form and hit the "submit" button. I never heard from them. I realize that calling would likely have been more effective, but I intentionally used the online form to test their responsiveness. I got my answer. They may be great folks and do great work at good prices. I have no way of knowing. I felt that if they have a form submittal feature on their web site and either it doesn't work or they don't respond to it, I simply didn't care to call or email, so I never got a quote. I used the same method when contacting Custom Touch Irrigation. I filled out their online form on a weekend. The following Monday at 9:00 I got a call from them. I'll save the details for my review of CTI, but I'll just say that they got my business and did a fantastic job. If CTI hadn't responded so quickly, I may have called CRS.

He's got some personal problems and I am not sure what they are. I have been using him for 20 years and I know him personally. He doesn't seem to be as responsive as he used to be. When it comes to quality of work, professionalism and cost he is very good but when it comes to responsiveness he is not the best right now. The people who put the irrigation system in were not doing maintenance and only installing and so I quit using them and started using Controled Rain System. Ever since then he has started repairing and he has also taught me how to repair it. He is just a good friend. At this point of time everything about him is good except his responsiveness. If someone new calls him up and don't get a response from him they would think what's wrong with him but for me I like him so much and I know him so well that I over look certain things. I did come close to firing him this year. He does keep his ears open to feedback and that is a positive. He knows what he is doing and he is a one man operation right now. He does it all by himself and as busy as he is right now that might be delaying him these days. I am having him come over next month to put in new sprinkler heads. He is a good guy who works hard.

When he shows, the work is excellent. His communications skills suck.

The entire process was terrific! Manuel came out and walked the property with us, listening to what we wanted and explaining everything that he recommended. He also marked where each sprinkler head would go and was very patient in answering all our questions. The installation went smoothly and was so professionally done. After it was installed he walked both me and my husband through the property again to show us what to expect and explained the control box. We have Manuel come out and do our turn on, tests and shut downs. He has always been professional, helpful and responsive. Manuel is an expert and professional, he truly takes pride in his job and his company - I will never use anyone else. I recommend Controlled Rain highly. My lawn is lush and green, I save money watering, and our plants look amazing! If I ever have any questions I have just sent an email and get a quick response. I learned that Controlled Rain does landscape lighting and had them do a demo for us. It is truly amazing! I never knew lighting could make such a difference and am so glad that the same professional is again helping us.

We were not home when the work was done, but I never worry about that. Manuel is completely honorable.

We have used them for years. They seem reasonably priced and have always done the work right and I have never had to call them back, so I say they are okay.

Company "No-Showed" twice on confirmed appointments. No one ever answers the phone, no matter what time of day called and messages are never returned. Services performed in the past have been great but scheduling has always been a problem.

It went well. We did not use the system last year (our first in the house). I called them when the water company wanted the annual certification for the check valves. Manuel then checked all the heads and told me what he thought and what should be replaced. His estimate was quite good. We had to wait a couple of weeks since he was so busy, but that was no problem. He brought a second worker with him to finish the job sooner.

I have used this company for several years to open/close our irrigation system. They are punctual, polite and professional. I used them to alter an existing zone in our backyard. They performed good work in a short time. The price they quoted was very high, in my opinion, and they worked with me on the price, which I appreciated. They noted that the price included travel time and costs for rental equipment that I considered to be extraneous. Overall, their work is exceptional, but they are pricey.

THEY CHARGE $75/HOUR INCLUDING TRAVEL TIME. THEY ORIGINALLY CHARGED ME $75 FOR A 10 MINUTE JOB EVEN THOUGH I HAD SCHEDULED FOR THEM TO DO MY JOB WHEN THEY WERE ON A BIG JOB AT MY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS. THEY DO A VERY GOOD JOB BUT I'LL CHECK PRICE AT OTHER PROVIDERS BEFORE I USE THEM AGAIN.
