Computer Housecalls

Bruce was very helpful and professional. When I first contacted him, he even gave me some things to try that might have avoided him having to make a housecall at all. Considering there were several issues with the computers, I opted to have him come out and take care of it in person. I was very appreciative of the fact that he was willing to offer some suggestions that might have saved me the money of his housecall. Bruce arrived exactly when he said he would and got all of the issues cleared up. In addition, he helped me install a Malware program that he recommended I run once a month for added protection. There was an additonal small problem with my daughter's laptop that wasn't resolved (but it doesn't seem to affect the computer's performance in any way - we just keep getting an error message on restart). Bruce followed-up with two phone calls and an e-mail with additional things to try to fix that. I was very grateful for his knowledge and attentiveness. We will definitely use Computer Housecalls if needed in the future.

bruce was professional. he arrived right on time. he had to take the computer into the shop. returned it the next morning right on time. i would use his services in the future.

He was fine. I have no complaints with him whatsoever. He was reasonable and he did a good job. His price was fine, too.

When I called Computer Housecalls I was desperate and very upset which I suppose Bruce could tell. I had to wait over the weekend and he even called on Saturday to say that we could move up the time on Monday. Bruce arrived and took matters in hand, said I did not need to reformat the hard drive; removed some start up items that I didn't need and other things left by the new provider; made valuable suggestions that I accepted, and made sure that I understood everything that he did. He installed a router for wireless service and even checked my laptop computer. He was unsure of one problem and told me to call or email him if it continued. It did and I sent him an email. He immediately called me and we walked through it. He offered to return at no charge to straighten it out, but he was so thorough on the phone, that after several possible solutions, we found the one that worked. He's a genius and a concerned professional. He is everything that other clients of Angie's List have said and more! I cannot say enough good things about him! He was and is an exceptional professional who knows his stuff and is willing to share his knowledge! Never again will I fume when computers go wrong; I'll just call Bruce from Computer Housecalls!! I cannot thank him enough for saving what was left of my sanity!

Bruce is absolutely great. I originally contacted him on Sunday Jan. 18 via his web site regarding a problem with not being able to print. He came out on Tuesday morning the 20th & spent about an hour trying various things to fix the problem, but wasn't able to fix it at that time because I didn't have the installation disk that I needed. I contacted HP & obtained the needed disk, receiving it on Friday the 23rd. I attempted to get the printer back on line, but was unsuccessful, so I contacted Bruce again. He made a special trip to my house on Monday the 26th & finally after much hassle with the printer got it working again.

Contacted Bruce on the phone. He initially tried to have me try some things to get it running in order to save me a service call. When I didn't succeed, he set up an appointment to come out and fix it. He came on time and fixed the problem at his pre-given hourly rate.

I have used him twice now. The first time was about two years ago. He is prompt and he really provides an education as to what I should do. He really seems to be very sharp and knows what he is doing. I felt totally secure in what he was doing.

Bruce was very helpful in explaining things to this illiterate computer user and in cleaning things up so I can now use my computer easily. He offered other suggestions for the future as well. I would definitely hire him again.

Bruce has helped me quite a bit over the past two years. He is very responsive and always willing to go the extra mile to get the job done. My PC had serious problems that were very hard to diagnose and he stayed with it until he found the problem and fixed it. Other people would probably have walked away and left me in a lurch. Not Bruce, he stuck with me until the problem was solved. Very personal service and very professional.

We were just looking for a few crucial items to be retrieved from the old hard drive, but Bruce was able to pull everything we asked and more. He also streamlined a lot of the new functions so they'd be easier to use. For 2 barely computer-literate adults, he was a lifesaver.

I called to ask if Computer Housecalls sold computers because the motherboard on ours is shot. Even though he does not sell computers, Brian took the time to explain to me what I should look for in a computer. It is obvious that he is very knowledgeable and has the heart of a teacher (both wonderful qualities that we don't find much any more). When I get my new computer, you can bet I will call him to fine tune Windows Vista and my wireless network for me.

It took him an hour to remove the viruses we may have had and cleaned it. He even installed anti-virus ware for free and set up automatic back up and cleaning. And we got a free calendar. It couldn't have been easier.

Showed up on time and completed the work without any delays. Computer Housecalls did a fantastic job. Give them a call, you won't be disappointed.

I called and Bruce walked me through some steps that fixed the problem. He is a true expert and he really knows computers.

I called the Saturday before Christmas. Computer Housecalls came out that Monday (Christmas Eve). The computer I bought was faulty and they not only waited until I got a replacement that day, they went with me. I could write a book here, but just think about what company would have ensured you had been taken care of on Christmas Eve. I have had computer service throughout the country and this company is by far the best in customer satisfaction.

Our computer "died" on a Wed AM, not even able to boot up. I contacted Computer House calls Thurs AM about dropping it off, but he called back and set up an appointment at our house Thurs evening. When he determined the motherboard was fried, instead of taking my business, he said replacing the MB wasn't worth it, and to just put the money into a new PC. Estimated cost was $40.

I told the story pretty much above. I should have called Bruce last year when I thought I was having problems, but it was just my not knowing how to set up files, etc. In the future I will call him immediately. I called Bruce and he was there the next morning. I would say he goes beyond what you expect and pay for.

I got a new laptop over the holidays and wanted to set up a wireless network so I could use the laptop and my desktop PC. As always, I attempted to do this myself before calling for help, and spent many fruitless hours on my holiday attempting to install an ethernet card on my PC to get the process moving along. When that proved impossible, I called Bruce, who was able to get the router working; however, my older PC still wouldn't accept the ethernet card. So, although my ideal situation wasn't achieved, I do have wireless internet access, and Bruce offered some possible solutions on getting my PC back in shape. Bruce was professional and right on time. I was a little disappointed it didn't work out like I wanted, but I think my expectations were probably a bit unrealistic. I did appreciate his honesty and the fact that he made the effort to try to do it the way I wanted. I'll try his suggestions and maybe get the PC working correctly again.

Bruce was outstanding. He quickly diagnosed the problem. After we ordered and received the new system, he set it up and performed all the requested tasks in a mere 2 hours including finding that all old hard drive data had been totally lost. He was prompt, helpful, courteous, showed my wife what he found and did and we were up and running the same day.

Great! He diagnosed it over the phone. He called the day he was scheduled to come over to confirm, this was a Saturday. He arrived on time. Bruce was very friendly and very reasonably priced! I would call him again!

I now know why there are so many glowing reports about Bruce Stokes and Computer Housecalls! Not only did I get the answer to questions regarding my system, but he explained that it was a fairly simple procedure and since he didn't stock the part... I could easily purchase it myself and complete the installation. I had removed the CPU's cover, but was a bit uncertain as to whether I could actually put the chip in. He reassured me, gave further instruction as to how to proceed as well as where to get it and information about price/quality, etc. He even fielded one other call when I was at the second store having trouble finding the right chip... helped me decide on an alternative. I've only been 'back home again in Indiana' for about a year and wondered how I would ever find someone with expertise in computer technology who was also a person of integrity. I now know the answer to that question, too!!!

I called Computer House calls, explained the message on my computer. Bruce came out the next day, showed me the problem, explained the options and I elected to have him replace the two fans on my CPU, which were not working.

I CALLED BRUCE THAT MORNING AND HE WAS ABLE TO FIT ME IN THE SAME DAY. HE ARRIVED EARLY AND HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL. HE TOOK HIS TIME AND DID A GOOD JOB IN CORRECTING THE PROBLEMS WE WERE HAVING WITH OUR COMPUTER. HE WAS THERE FOR TWO HOURS AND IT WAS WELL WORTH IT! I LEARNED A GREAT DEAL FROM HIM AND HIS VISIT. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH HIS WORK AND THE OUTCOME!

Bruce was helpful on the phone and punctual. He charged what he quoted when we called him. He was very knowledgeable and helpful.
