We enjoyed working with CMH. Jared's initial estimate and consultation were informative and competitive. We liked his demeanor and felt he was trustworthy. Stephanie helped us create a plan for the kitchen and provided valuable input for design and finishing touches. She introduced us to many different vendors and made it possible for us to make educated decisions. Joel was a great project manager. He worked with us to make sure that we were informed about the project and was flexible when deciding on materials and timeline when we would need a bit more time to make decisions. All of the employees were friendly, professional, and trustworthy. As the project wrapped up Craig and Stephanie met with us to talk through all of the change orders and work completed. The process was straightforward and we are extremely happy with the result.

Prompt, professional and helpful sales and planning crew, with a designer to help with layout, visualization, and choosing materials-colors, this was part of the service and very helpful. Started on time and made good progress through demolition and framing. Some issues with unexpected water and rodent damage that took a little time and money to deal with outside of contract. Excavation cutting and installation of new windows took several extra weeks due to delays in ordering windows and scheduling the excavation plus cutting. Finish through inspection went well though delayed a few days due to illness of crew and some material choice reworks. Floor laying tiling and finish went well though it took more time than expected. Extremely impressive and professional crew. All work was done to high standards, the tiling work is first rate, bathroom is a dream. Timeliness of material orders was an issue a couple of times but there were no material shortages or overages and material was exactly as expected. The project manager and company owner were both responsive and good to work with. I highly recommend the company for any scale of remodeling.

We got approximately 10 quotes for our basement. CMH was pretty much right in the middle of the bidding prices. Jared, the Sales & Marketing, was easy to deal with throughout the entire process, and was prompt in getting back to us with any questions. We basically eliminated the bidders we thought were too high, as well as the bidders who alarmingly low. We chose CMH because we felt comfortable when talking with their staff. hey even set up a viewing of a basement in which they had just finished and we were impressed with what we saw. The written quote we were given was itemized line by line, which enabled us o dissect the project budget so we were able to remove or add items, which we ended up doing before we got down to the final cost. They started about 2 weeks after the contract was finalized. The project was finished within the 5 week timeframe in which we were given, and we were given constant updates by Joel the project manager throughout the entire project. Any time we had a question or concern Joel answered in a prompt manner. There were some minor changes or adjustments that we ourselves had requested during the project, and these were easily handled by the crew without them even asking for any sort of change fee. There was basically zero interruption in our homes as they came in the morning and were gone before we came home, and things were cleaned up each night before they left. The total cost of tthe project was actually a little below the final quote that was given. There was one hiccup at the end when the wrong color carpet was ordered, and the project was going to be pushed back a few days. I expressed my concern and Joel the Project Mgr. was able to find a remedy in a timely fashion. I did end up having to push back some deliveries that were scheduled to be placed in the basement(pool table & some furniture)due to this hiccup, but was satisfied that they came up with a solution, as opposed to simply putting it off until the following week. We would definitely recommend using them for any of your homes needs, and we will be following up with them in the Spring to hopefully have our backyard patio put in. Overall the experience was very easy, no pushy sales people, all the staff in their office were professional, courteous, and responded to any questions/concerns that we need in a timely manner....job well done, we love our new basement!!

What an amazing fine company CMH runs! They provided plans and detailed invoices before the job started, and any concerns we had were handled promptly and with courtesy. The project manager, Jon Power, was simply amazing. His communication with us kept us fully aware of what was going to happen each day. Each and every detail was handled professionally, and as promptly as we could possibly have desired. The workers all seemed to be extremely careful not to cause a mess, and always cleaned up afterwards. The work started on October 15th and was done except for some minor touch-up on December 7th. Some delay was due to waiting for inspections, but there were no delays other than that.

I was very impressed with the professionalism and craftsmanship of the workers. From the very beginning to the actual finish the entire process was very smooth and there was always great communication between the project manager and us. The workers were always prompt (arriving at 8:00 and leaving no later then 4:30), all employees were very respectful and always cleaned up the work area before leaving at night. While replacing the electrical outlets it was determined by the electrician we needed additional circuits which were installed without any increase cost to us. CMH has a on staff interior designer who helped us determine the color and layout of the room, we were provided a 3D picture of the basement and the finished project turned just like the 3D picture, we were very pleased. I would highly recommend CHM for family and friends for any remodeling needs. We will be using them again for our future needs.

The project went very well. the quality of the work was excellent as was responsiveness to all our questions and additions. All the various crew members that came to our home were polite and cleaned up at the end of each day. We felt comfortable having the various work crews in our house when we were not home. This allowed us to not miss any work during the construction. There were a few days I worked from home just to be available for questions and decisions at various points in the project and that worked well also. The transformation each day was amazing. When the framing went in we could begin to imagine the finished space. The noise reduction between the basement and main floor when the insulation and then the drywall were installed was quite significant. When the house was built, our sump pump drain pipe was originally placed between the air duct and the concrete wall, resulting in loud clattering every time the sump pump drained. The plumber offered to re-route the drain pipe coming from the sump pump to eliminate the loud rattle we thought we had to live with. It's so quiet now! He also was kind enough to fix a drain pipe under our kitchen sink. All of the painting, cabinetry and finishing touches turned out beautifully. We started on time but our original schedule was bumped out by a few weeks due to waiting on city inspectors to be available for an interim inspection and a special sink that we ordered for the bar. But it was all worth the wait! We love our new space and will be spending a lot more time in our basement now - especially nice during this very hot weather. CMH was also very diligent about keeping within our budget and advised us about cost whenever we had a change order request.

I was looking to hire a company that could handle everything I needed to be complete based off of an inspection report I got on my own house before I was placing it on the market. Jared Kennard came out to handle the quotes and was very helpful with walking me through what I could do on my own and what would be best for them to do. I had to have them come out to do multiple quotes because I kept adding items to the list and they were very willing and timely in their quotes. They always got a quote to me within 24 hours, if not within 12 hours. Each quote was less expensive than the others I had received. I decided to go with CMH because of their promptness, cost, and quality I had seen on their other work on other homes. Jon, the Project Manager, met me the first time on a day that I was emotional about something that had just happened to me and my family. He unfortunately had to shake my hand while I was still crying about it and what was so kind and amazing was that he was very sympathetic and asked if I needed a moment to deal with what just happened. He was very professional and very kind in a moment where I was very upset. The entire project Jon was wonderful. He was prompt, helpful, communicated the entire time with me, updated me and asked questions as the project continued. If there was ever a problem with timelines or even a problem on a weekend with something that was in mid-work, he would stop by the house to make sure it wasn't a larger problem and fixed it. For instance, new plumbing needed to happen for the bathroom sinks and one of the pipes was leaking - they had just re-plumbed the day before (they hadn't put the vanity in yet). It had just been placed. I didn't know what to do so I called him that day, a Saturday, and he stopped by to check it out. It turns out, they just hadn't tightened it completely. It was great that we could rely on him like that. The work was completed timely, within budget and within the quote, and the completed items are beautiful! The bathrooms were completely updated from the 1970's to present day with the work they did. I am very pleased with everything. Lastly, after the work was done, the house had an offer within three days of putting the house on the market. I believe a lot of it had to do with the beautiful work they did in the bathrooms. The buyer had their inspection done as well and asked for a few things to be complete. I emailed Jared to get me a quote within 24 hours and within 24 hours I got an email telling me the work was completed already, while they were there. I was so excited and impressed. I was happy that they knew me as a customer so much already that I would love that the work was completed and would except the charges. I know that they wouldn't have done the few items if they were costly, but the items weren't and so they just handled it while they were out there. I would hire them again for any project we have in the future. Big or small. Best investment in our house, ever. In fact, in our new house, we already plan on using them for basement finishing.

They took two days to complete the work and did everything we agreed on plus a little more (without raising the price). The 2 painters they sent were prompt, pleasant and courteous. Everything went perfectly from start to finish and I was very pleased with the finished results.

CMH Builders are beyond amazing & did an excellent job finishing our basement! At every step of the way, we were continually impressed & pleased with their professionalism and attention to detail. To start the process, Jared was extremely accommodating and helpful in listening to the needs we had for our unfinished basement. We received quotes from five different contractors, and we chose CMH because Jared and CMH seemed the most trustworthy, knowledgeable, and dependable. Their prices were right in the middle of all five quotes, and the fact that CMH does not subcontract was a huge point in choosing them for the job. The 3D CAD program Jared used really helped us envision what our plans would look like, and we were able to make some dramatic changes based on this visual program. Before CMH began construction, we did a walk through with the owner, Craig Huckstep & Jared. At this point, Craig hand us more information about our construction as well as a detailed schedule of when work would be completed. (They either beat their schedule or were right on time!) Jason & the crew started off framing, running electrical, and plumbing; they did an excellent job making sure that they were putting everything in a place that would function best for our family?s needs. Throughout the process CMH employees were courteous, kind to our children, and respectful of our home. Either the owner, Craig Huckstep, or a Project Manager was on site every day to check the process and answer our questions. Sweeping up at night, arriving at 8am every day, and putting down a drop cloth from the door to the basement were just a few things they did that impressed us. John came to put the finishing touches and install our custom cabinetry; he did a remarkable job. To end the process, CMH cleaned our basement for us, including our windows! CMH was fair in pricing, the estimate was accurate, and their workmanship was excellent! We are amazed at how easy the process was and how well they stayed on schedule. Our basement now looks like an extension of our home, with the same trim details, custom paint colors, custom cabinets and granite. We highly recommend Craig Huckstep & CMH builders and will use them if we have projects in the future.

CMH Builders, Inc. did an outstanding job overall with our projects. They initially came out and gave us an estimate as well as designed a computer based simulation of what the basement would look like when completed. Their estimates were in line with what we expected and they made us feel very comfortable from the beginning of the entire process. We met directly with the owner who outlined the project and developed a timeline of expected completion dates on certain phases of the project. The great thing about CMH is the direct contact you have with the owner as well as his continued involvement in the entire process. You will also have his direct staff completing nearly all of the work in your home. The owner and his entire staff are very professional, polite, hard-working and always on time daily. As for the work we had completed, all was done in a timely manner and the quality of the work appears to be outstanding after a couple of months removed of everything being completed. I would highly suggest you consider using CMH for any projects you may have. I don't see any reason to believe you would ever be disappointed in choosing to use this great local small business.

The initial salesman came out and was really good and helpful. It was a good estimate but they have been putting us off. They're slow on coming out to give us a final estimate and contract. I don't feel comfortable with them.

WOW! What a great job. What a great Company to do business with! My mother is so pleased with her new brick half wall around her patio just off her sunroom. The decorative cap on the wall completes the look. Craig, Jared and their crew were so professional and kind. They started and completed the project within a week. They went above and beyond our expectations, coming back to seed/straw area around the wall and power washed the patio. I highly recommend them and will most certainly use them again for any future projects. Thanks guys!

I contacted CMH builders for an estimate on a home office build out due to our great experience using them for semi-custom built-ins around our fireplace. Jared came to our house that week and gave us ideas followed by a reasonable quote. All the work was done by CMH employees that were easy to deal with, had great ideas and worked diligently with professionalism. The job was completed on time, on budget and on par with what we expected.

Initially connected with Jared to come and look around, find out what we wanted and give us ideas. Jared drew plans out and got ideas back to us very quickly. Once we had a basic plan in place we began thinking of tweaks to the plan - Jared was very accommodative and drew up 5 or 6 plans before we had one we felt sure about. Jared provided a very detailed estimate a few days later. We were very impressed with the sales and customer service delivered by Jared. Once we decided to move ahead with the project we met with Craig, the owner of the company. He came over and walked through the basement and answered all the questions we had. We agreed to the project and a date was set. We were on a tight timeline and Craig assured us he'd be able to meet our schedule needs. Before the project began we went to Affordable Kitchens and Baths in Carmel at Craig's recommendation. Joe Evans at Affordable was great to work with - we went in with a budget that was given to us by CMH and Joe helped us with everything that we needed to select - carpet and tile, counteracts, cabinetwork, grout, etc. We actually made our choices really easily and were very happy with the selection inside our budget and chose to upgrade a few things (carpet was the biggest.) We had a miscommunication with Joe about some things and when we got the "change order" for the items we chose at Affordable I was a bit concerned... I spoke with Joe about my concerns and he was wonderful and we worked through the miscommunication in a way that was very generous of Affordable and with that they've earned my business and recommendation to others forever. Thanks, Joe. The actual construction got going right on time. I really think a huge point of difference is that CMH's employees are the guys who actually do the work. They are not hiring a team of subcontractors for each task and we got to know the members of CMH's team over the 6 or so weeks of the project and we felt very comfortable having them in the home. In fact, due to some unexpected circumstances we were both away from the house for some time and we felt fine having the CMH team there when we were gone. CMH showed up each morning right on time and left each day right on time. They were very careful about trying to prevent dust and construction dirt from getting into the rest of the house. Of course a good amount of dust (especially drywall dust) did end up coating the rest of the house because its impossible to keep it contained. I really appreciated that Craig had his cleaning person help clean up the rest of the house when the project was done - really thought that was above and beyond. The CMH team made themselves as little of a burden as possible - they never once used the restrooms in the house - and went in and out of the basement window for much the project rather than using the front door. All in all they were very easy to work with in that regard. As to the quality of the work - I believe it was all top notch. Everything looks very good and they addressed any small concerns we had right away. We have had a couple of minor issues come up since the project was finished - John came out right away and took care of them for us (I mention the minor issues not as a complaint - issues inevitably come up on a project of this size - I mention it to highlight how good they've been even in follow-up.) So, in summary - great work, good people, great customer service and made the project as easy on us as I think it could have been. They were not the cheapest bid we received, but I think you get what you pay for and we are very pleased we chose to work with CMH. Thanks, guys.

Fantastic! CMH employs experienced construction tradesmen and sends them out in specialty teams, so the guys who did the ceiling were not the same guys who did the electrical. Even though that meant I had a lot of new men in the home, they were all extremely professional, courteous, prompt, and clean. Having people in my home everyday for several weeks was not at all a bother since the CMH crew always took pride in their behavior and work-product. Paul, John (both of them), Jason, Victor, and Kenny were pleasant and respectful of my need to work from home without disruption, and I really appreciated their work ethic. CMH attention to detail is terrific. Throughout the process, my husband and I inspected the work, and rarely found any construction issues like you would normally find in a new home construction "walk-through." Any issues that did come up were handled immediately by our outstanding supervisor, Joel, who kept me informed through regular visits, emails, and phone calls as to the status of the job. Great communicator! Our unfinished basement had not been plumbed, and we wanted the basement bath to look and function just like the upstairs baths which meant CMH had to bust up the concrete floor, lay plumbing, and install a deep sump system to force the wastewater from the toilet and shower up to ground level. This was back-breaking work for Paul and John, and they passed the city inspection without a hitch. Not only that, but using the bathroom now that construction is done is just like using the bathroom upstairs. It doesn't feel like a basement bathroom at all. Additionally, we wanted the entire living space to have the same quality feel as the upstairs, so CMH matched the baseboard molding and stain to the upper level. Very nice! As for price, CMH's bid was competitive with two other Angie's List construction companies who specialize in basement remodels. There were a couple of changes that I made after the initial quote was prepared that bumped up the price (upgraded cabinets and countertops), but Joel was quick to give me the exact cost increase and ask for my approval before moving forward. There were no surprises, and we feel that the entire cost was very reasonable for the quality that we received. We will definitely call CMH back for future remodeling projects!

Jared Kennard has been very responsive from initial estimate, to questions and design changes. His computer generated imagines have been very helpful for visualizing the project. His estimate was one of the more comprehensive and their pricing was very competitive. He was one of the few contractors that I dealt with that showed genuine interest in the project and listened to my design ideas for the space. CMH was also the only contractor that has a relationship with a technology vendor for handling the audio and video needs of my project (Technology Interiors). The project was started on time and was completed within one week of the preliminary scheduled date - 8 weeks total. The project ran a little longer due to the kitchen counter tops being delayed. Overall, the project ran smoothly and as planned. The project managers kept me informed with progress and issues/questions as they arose. I was not home during the majority of the construction, so most contact was via phone or email. This worked well for me as my wife and I both work. The minor bumps in the project were dealt with quickly and with out issue by CMH. The finished product has turned out as planned and met our expectations. I plan to engage them for future projects.

The service is excellent. They are very professional. They provided a real comprehensive proposal and they were very competitive. I would use them again.

From start to finish, I have been very impressed with CMH Buliders. I interviewed five different companies for our basement project, and CMH Buliders was the most responsive. They got back to me right away with an estimate and they were affordable. They have worked hard to make sure that what I am envisioning will be the final project. I am already adding projects throughout the house for them to continue on! I would highly recommend them.

When we were ready to consider finishing our basement space, I got quotes from 4 different builders in November of 2010. CMH was not the cheapest or the most expensive. Their quote was very detailed and clear and I was impressed at how clearly they communicated. I signed the contract with them in earl December. Work began in mid-January 2011, which is when I was told they were able to begin. They were there working every morning (except a couple of winter storms that didn't allow for anyone on the roads. Every work day was very productive with no down periods of little or no progress. The job was completed on time (4 weeks) and on budget, exactly what was quoted. We are loving our new basement and it blends very nicely with the rest of the house. I would certainly use CMH builders again for any remodel and have recommended them to many friends.

The project leader, Craig, was great to work with and would always get back with us very quickly if we had a question about anything. We could not be happier with how the bathroom turned out. My husband commented that it is now the nicest bathroom in our home and I think so too. We have already recommended them to a family member who in interested in having their bathroom remodeled. They were professional, always punctual and did great work. Their estimate was very reasonable and we are glad we chose them over the other two companies from which we received estimates. A+
