We cannot say enough good things about this company. I had 3 companies come out and give estimates. Not only was Closet Concepts the most reasonable, but we liked their design the best. I especially like my ironing board that folds up into a drawer in the master closet. I also love our laundry room with a built in hall tree bench with cubbies for shoes/hats and hooks for coats. The installers were professional and very accommodating with last minute decisions of where to place rods and shelves. All work was accomplished in less than 4 hours. Everything is customizeable to your specific needs. Very happy with design, price, and especially results!

I sent a plan from EasyClosets.com to Joe to get a quote on a similar outfit from Closet Concepts. He promptly replied with a quote that was about 30% less and included installation. Once I came into the store to talk to Joe, I decided within about 2 minutes that my search for a closet company had ended. Not only was Joe super friendly and knowledgeable, there was even an area where my (then quite grumpy) 2.5 year old could entertain herself while we looked at designs. He was able to get his crew into my house the following Monday and install a great closet. Our closet is off our master bath and is seen by very few guests, so we went with a basic white closet. The materials are excellent, and the drawers feel great when sliding. They offer far more upscale looks, but the basic white met our needs. Every time I walk into my closet, I know I made the right decision with Closet Concepts. I highly recommend Closet Concepts.

Description of Work: Working with Joe at Closet Concepts was a pleasure. Joe responded to our request for bids on a closet design for our new home quickly. He was also quick in updating pricing and designs based on changes we wanted to make. When install day came, his time was on time and professional. The closet system turned out great and as expected.

We met with Joe at his office prior to the build to design the layouts of the master closet and pantry. We settled on the layout and Joe passed the design on to the builder so everyone was on the same page. During the build I stopped by the home on the day that the shelving was being installed. I noticed immediately that mistakes were being made and I asked the installers to please stop what they were doing and make a phone call so they would not continue to ruin our brand new walls. They did not listen to me but rather, continued to complete the install incorrectly. We were days away from the closing. The builder had them come back to make the changes and patch up the walls. Yes, the wall in our brand new home already had to be and quot;patched upand quot; thanks to Closet Concepts. Unfortunately, they still did not get everything right but it was the day of closing and we had movers scheduled and no place to live so we had to agree to have them come back after closing to make the corrections. When I contacted Joe to make the corrections I let him know that we wanted to add a few shelves and accessories and switch out a few drawers in our master closet as well. We set an appointment for a few weeks out when my husband and I had a day off of work. He was supposed to call me that week to finalize those changes so he could bring the proper materials. He emailed me the day before and said that he was confirming that he was meeting us at our house to discuss the changes and then coming back the following week to complete the work. No. That was not what we discussed. We have three kids under 5 and both work outside the home. There was no reason for me to have to take additional time off of work for this... especially given that the majority of the work should have been completed prior to closing. We could have made the changes to the master closet ourselves... we just needed the supplies. Joe agreed to do the work but said he wouldn't have all the supplies for the closet because and quot;it was such short noticeand quot;. There was plenty of notice, I had called him three weeks prior and he was supposed to contact me earlier that week so he could have all the supplies. He is the one who dropped the ball. He then proceeded to ask me to take a picture of my closet so he knew what size shelves to bring. I asked him if he could just refer to our plans to get the proper measurements. He said he had absolutely no way of doing that. He did not keep those sort of records. WHAT?? What sort of company doesn't keep files on their clients and the work they have completed for them... especially when the work was in the thousands of dollars. He proceeded to treat me as if my request was ridiculous. Finally, I looked back through my email and utilizing the search function, in about 30 seconds, I found the email from him from before our build that had the closet lay out attached. I forwarded it to him, like a good little secretary. He then sent me an email saying and quot;I'm sorry if I caught you on a bad day.and quot; As if my frustration was somehow of my own doing. The next day they showed up and completed the work but they were short two drawers. Joe left me with an invoice and took my AmEx number to process when he got back to the office. Upon looking at the invoice we realized that he had overcharged us for the additional shelves and drawers. We were able to call and get that straightened out prior to him running our card. We thought we were done with them. But then the drawers came in. Joe emailed me to tell me that they were in and he would have them dropped off on our front porch the next day. There was a 100% chance of rain the next day. I asked him if I could stop by the office and just pick them up that afternoon… this was at 1:45 pm. He said no, everyone was already gone for the day, including him. Again, it was 1:45 pm. I wish I had those hours. I'd also like to mention that in a previous review, Joe specifically refers to his and quot;normal hoursand quot; as 7am to 4pm. Anyway, I asked him if the guys could give me call when they dropped them off. I can open and close my garage door with an app on my phone so they could have put them inside. But no phone call… and there the drawers were on my porch when I got home and yes, it had rained all day. I emailed Joe to let him know that I had not received a phone call. He proceeded to tell me that they had called me three times and I did not answer. I told him he was wrong. This is 2014, I have a call log. I did not receive any phone calls. He asked me if the number he had was correct. It was not. He said it was what he had in my file… wait a minute… a file? I thought that there was no file? Huh. Also, we had exchanged dozens of phone calls, how is it that all the sudden you have the wrong phone number? Sounds a lot like a very convenient excuse for, yet again, dropping the ball. So later that night we went to put in the drawers and shelves and we realized that they had put a dent in our wall in our closet where they had leaned the shelves up rather than stacking them on the floor. Also when we put the drawers on the tracks they are completely lopsided. So we emailed them tonight to see how they plan to rectify this situation. I cannot wait to be rid of this company. We have more work to be done in my kids closets (adding a second hanging bar) and I can assure you that I will be calling California Closets to complete that work.

Joe helped design for us closet cabinetry in our master bedroom and our daughter's bedroom closet. These really helped us maximize the space we were given and have been a great value for us. These products, in my estimation, double or even triple the amount of useful space you have in a closet. They're really fantastic. And because Closet Concepts have a relationship with the builder of our home, they passed on that pricing to us, which made this the best deal for us after we had solicited multiple bids.

Joe Ross and his staff were prompt, clean and hard working. The job was done in the promised time frame. They removed all trash themselves. We have recommended Joe and his company to our neighbors for their consideration. We were extremely pleased and will call on them again if a job arises.

We talked to several contractors and his designs were best and also a good value. He offered innovative choices for our historic home, which was renovated and left unfinished. He corrected issues and we are happy with final product. He came to my home, but I liked his showroom for ideas.

A colleague of mine referred me to Closet Concepts (and quot;CCand quot;) based on their experience with them. They had also used a nationally recognized closet designer in the past and considered CC a good comparison in quality with a lower price. I was also working with the nationally recognized company (had a preliminary design) and wanted to shop around. I perused CC's website and decided to enter my contact information for an in-home consultation. The next morning Joe Ross (owner) called me to schedule an appointment. Since I work M-F between 8-5pm, evenings or weekends work best for me. We scheduled an appointment for a weeknight evening around 6pm. No call no show. I tried calling the office and left a voicemail reminding him of our appointment. I was furious. The next morning he calls me up and told me his child had been injured in a soccer game and had to go the doctor. I felt guilty for being upset until he started to explain himself further. He said he e-mailed me that night (while at the hospital) telling me he had to cancel. I never got his e-mail and honestly never would have thought to check it anyway for an appointment cancellation! I asked him why he would e-mail me vs. telephoning me. Wouldn't a phone call be much quicker than sending an e-mail? Plus, it is unprofessional in my opinion. However, I was in the forgiving mood and asked if he wanted to reschedule. Instead of making an effort to create customer goodwill, he proceeds to insist on making the appointment around his schedule by saying that evenings really don't work for him and that he would rather have morning appointments. I was unable to accomodate his request so he suggested that we work via e-mail. I sent him the dimensions of our closet-to-be and he sent PDFs of his CAD design and quotes. Honestly, the price was not much lower and he tried to convince me I did not need backing on the shelving units. From that point, I decided that this was not the company I wanted to work with on this huge investment, so I just stopped communicating with him.

Response from Closet Concepts Inc
This was an unusual circumstance where our child was injured. We did not have a phone number with us at the time. We only had an email address. We did let her know the situation. I did follow up with her website request the very next day. We tried to find a time to meet that would work with both of our busy schedules. I am able to do a lot of work via email. I did email her the design and pricing within a couple of days. I also attempted to follow up many times. She stopped responding. We are a family owned company. Our normal business hours are M-F 7am-4pm or by appointment. We try to accommodate everyone's schedules but with us being a local, family owned business, our family needs and activities come first. We are sorry that we were not able to do business with this client.

They were very good. They were very professional and they did a good job. I had already had them in my house before for some work. Overall, they did excellent. They were on time. Their owner Mr. Joe Ross came in. It was excellent. I knew what the product was as I already had it in my house. It was a matter of adding in more storage in the closets than what was in there. I had one side of the closets done and had not utilized the other side. I saw that there was room for more shelving and called him. He gave me the estimate over the phone. He then came and measured. His guys came in two three days and it was done. They were clean. They took their shoes off at the door and were respectful of my home.
Description of Work: I have used the services of Closet Concepts Incorporated within the last month. I had them do custom built-ins for a couple of closets for shelving.
