They came out and talk to use about putting new windows in but we didn’t have any windows done with them. They did a price quote. They were very expensive. The presentation was very thorough, I didn’t feel there was any pressure to go with them, we had a few quotes from other people so once we knew that, we knew he was kind of way out of the ball part price.

The warranty for Champion Windows and Sun Rooms is WORTHLESS. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY. The majority of the work was done on schedule. However, additional material had to be procured, so the job was left unfinished for another month until the material came in. I wouldn't have minded the month wait, but no one at Champion would give me even a general idea of how long it would take to get the additional material. The construction itself wen pretty well, although the Champion equipment did cut my invisible fencing. They wound it up in a ball, and I did not find out what happened until I found out (from the Dog Watch representative) why the fence mechanism started beeping continuously. The real problem started when I returned from a short trip on April 5, 2014. There was a 3' x 3' puddle of standing water in a corner of the sun room. It had rained quite a bit the week before, so there was clearly a leak somewhere. I paid over $20,000 for the sun room because the construction came with a lifetime warranty on parts and a 2-year warranty on labor. I thought Champion would honor the warranty and fix the leak. I was wrong. I called Champion on April 7th and was told that my request was being sent to the scheduling person, who would schedule someone to come out to my house and inspect the sun room. No one called. I called again a week later (April 14, 2014) and was told the scheduling person was away from her desk but that the receptionist would leave her a note to call. Again, no call. I called back the next day and explained that I really needed to get onto the schedule, even if the actual inspection could not take place for a few weeks. This time the receptionist explained the real situation. She said, ?Ma?am, we service over 22,000 customers in Central Indiana and do not have time to return your call. Our scheduler is also a manager, so scheduling is not her only responsibility. Maybe YOUR office has a person whose job is just to sit around all day and schedule appointments, but we don?t.? I asked her if I could find someone else to fix the leak and bill Champion for the service. She put me on hold, then returned and told me that finding another contractor would void my warranty. Needless to say, no one ever called me back to schedule the inspection. I called Champion again today, April 28, 2014. After a brief hold, the same receptionist explained that my service call was ?in scheduling.? When I asked approximately how long it would take for someone to schedule it, she said, ?It will be scheduled when the scheduler has time to schedule it.? In my opinion, the entire warranty program at Champion is worse than incompetent. It is fraudulent.
Description of Work: In August of 2013, I purchased a sun room from Champion. The sales person was knowledgeable and courteous. However, the service went downhill from there. The work was scheduled a month after i made the purchase. The sun room began to leak 7 months after it was installed, and the provider refuses to honor the warranty.

At the time of purchase and installation, everything was great. We had to have the guy come back out and clean up the caulk job and trim work on the patio door, and after that all was well. So, between now and roughly October of 2007, we have had all window sashes replaced due to seal failure and some sashes have been replaced twice. Each repair was done after a six-week wait to have the replacement made, but that's the way it goes in the manufacturing side of things.. After arguing that trip charges were ridiculous for warranty work, as I recall most if not all of these were waived. It was quite a hassle having to arrange for this many replacements, but again, things can happen when humans and machines meet in a factory setting. I get that. OK, fast forward to this week. The large picture window in my kitchen now has seal failure. I haven't checked the patio door, and if it doesn't have seal failure it can only be a matter of time. The product didn't make it a full eight years, which is not good. So, I once again contact the local branch and after soliciting a response to my email (nobody responded), I was told that no service work is done after 5PM, and "never on Saturday." That isn't convenient. At all. In addition, the replacement for the failed window won't even be ordered until I cough up a $75 trip charge, and apparently that isn't negotiable any longer. If I'm willing to send a check in that amount they'll order the window. Oh, they won't cash it until the window is installed. What kind of backward logic is that? I'm not making this up, and simply want to invoke the warranty that the office admin so adeptly copies and pastes into her replies to me. No such thing as a manager contacting a customer with an issue, I guess. So, I suppose I'll be held hostage until I send this check which I guess I'll do. Then I'll wait at least six weeks for the window to be ready, and then I'll get a call to set up repair under warranty at a time convenient to Champion. Not to me, but to Champion. H***, I'm just a customer, right? Once I check the patio door, I'm sure the same sequence will take place and I'm not looking forward to it. I'll update this review once the repair has been made. I may or may not be satisfied, but I'll be fair. So far, I'm very displeased with the way this is going, and so far I'm the only one who really seems to care. We'll see how it goes.

I like that he was not forceful. He provided me with all the information that I needed. He was very professional and I appreciated his honesty with everything that he was telling. I think that they're a good company to deal with if I had chosen them. He was an excellent representative for champion windows. I would recommend him to anyone. He was just a nice guy. He was kind of honest with me and I find no problems with him whatsoever. I would not hesitate to do business with them. It was not a high-pressure sale. Their responsiveness is excellent.

They were very quick for me and very helpful. They were able to show me a whole bunch of different options for the window. The guys who came and installed it were very quick. They cleaned up everything nicely and even gave me extra tips for around the house. Overall, I thought they did a good job. Their windows are really good products, so that was what I really liked. They are kind of expensive.

Very poorly. Would never use them again. Told it would take 3 to 5 days took over 2 months. Issues from not installing siding correctly, losing one of our shutters so now the shutters on the side of our house don't match the ones in the front, not cleaning up: they left pieces of siding, dozens of nails cigarettes butts all around the house, put our house numbers up very crooked, about a week before the flower and patio show they packed everything up and just left returned after the show ended, few days after they finished up a large piece of siding fell off house, took them 10 days to replace.

Response from Champion Windows and Home Exteriors of Indianapolis
We at Champion strive to provide excellent installation and service and I apologize you did not feel that is what you received. We lost a shutter in the horrible weather and replaced it and Tina offered to replace all of the shutters on the front side of the house so they would match at no additional cost, but you declined. Also, we were delayed over having to order some more coil to do the job right and not cut corners. Finally, we apologize and will do anything to make this situation right, but we experienced our coldest and snowiest winter in over 30 years and it made doing a whole house of siding a very difficult situation. That being said, if there is anything we can do to make things right, please call me. Tim Lyons Division Manager/Local Partner 317-579-6300

They wrote up the contract on July 3rd and the install was done 6 or 7 weeks later. What stands out the most about my experience with them was the fact that they never called me back. I spent $7000. I told him, "Hey, look I'm retired. I can't afford the whole house at one time." I'm not sure the young man in his beautiful sports car understood that. The installer that came out was wonderful and he was very polite. In fact, he just told me he lived in my neighborhood. I didn't know him. Of course, I don't know lot many people in this neighborhood anyway, it's a big neighborhood but he was wonderful. But the salesman it was his job. He did his job and that was it. I thought they should have followed through. I was just surprised. I went to a furniture store and bought one piece of furniture and the lady called me the next day and wrote me a note. I thought, "Wow" It was a fraction of what I paid on my windows. I liked the windows though.

Completed installation in one day. One of the largest windows in our home did not meet today's window standards based on size--the company produced the exact size window needed for the large space without cutting corners. The windows look great from the outside and have provided the additional warmth needed for the inside of the home.

We had them replace 8 windows and 2 slider doors with Champion brand windows and doors. Very high quality product (we had the work done in either May or June 2013 and no issues so far), and the service was exceptional. The crew was very professional, showed up on time, took their time to do the job right the first time, and they even stayed late to get the job done (it was a big job but they got it done in the time they said they would and didn't "leave us hanging" with holes in our walls). In addition to the quality of work, the guys were friendly and little to no trash was left behind so we were very pleased with their professionalism. The price was very reasonable for the amount of work we had done and the quality of product that we received. Only complaint was that there seems to be some back-office issues that need to get sorted out. We had to come in to their office multiple times even after the work had been completed to sign some paperwork that they had forgotten about. Seemed like we got called in 3 or 4 times for one signature or another, which was annoying. In the end though it all got sorted out, and our happiness with the product/service more than makes up for the minor inconvenience caused by the back-office issues. Would recommend Champion Windows to friends and family, and we would do business with again in the future.

not am in the process of having two windows installed . The correspondance with champion has been fantastic. They came and installed my windows and I was amazed when only one person show up. I was expecting a crew of at least 3. He got started and what a mess removing the old windows . He worked great and did not stop untill he was done. When he was done I could not tell he had been there . What a great decision I made the price was lower than their competors but the quality was at least 100% better. I am saving more money so I can have more work done as soon as possible. If anybody is upgrades on their home dont shop around just call champion you will not be sorry. They are amazing even the women in the office are so nice just like talking to your best friend. CHAMPION IS THE BEST Philip M. Sinex

We have a patio enclosure - in the enclosure there is a triangle piece that is missing where you can see day-light. We have been calling Champion Window to have this fixed since June and they have not come out (many excuses). We gave credit card payment for the service fee so they would come out, and they said the "might" be out next week. It seems I call them every two weeks.

I have mixed feelings about this company, but I think the bottom line is the customer service after the sales in very poor at best. I purchased a home that had a Champion enclosed sunroom that was approximately 10 years old. I discovered that the sliding glass door and one of the sliding windows would come off their track and could (and did) fall inward due to the settling patio foundation. Of course this wasn't Champion's fault, but I thought they could send someone out to take a look at it, and advise me on how to fix the problem and perhaps even have a solution to fix this safety hazard. I began calling in May (even though their records indicate June) and received a variety of excuses, lies, and run a round from this company. I was told they called but got an out of service number, family members of installers passed away, too busy to get to you just yet and on and on and on. I called them every 2 weeks and began keeping records of who I spoke to and what they said. They either put me off saying they would call in 2 weeks or someone wasn't in the office but they would put me at the top of the list and have them call me in a couple of days. This went on for 4 MONTHS!!!!!! I did my level best to be polite and friendly each and every time I called knowing that my problem wasn't through any fault of their own, but that their poor customer service was entirely their fault. Finally on my last phone call, I asked the office manager for the general manager's name and told her that if I did not receive a call by the promised time I was calling back to talk to the GM. Low and behold a timely call back, followed up by a scheduled appointment, followed up by a timely appointment. Coincidence? I think not after reading other people's reviews on this site. The gentlemen that came to my house were extremely polite, and knowledgeable. After showing them the issue, they began working on some things to make adjustments and within an hour, they had fixed those problems and adjusted all the window latches and ensured all was in working order like true professionals. They then told me that I would be charged $75 for the service call. Given that they repaired a real safety hazard to my family, I don't find the cost to be unreasonable; however, at no time did anyone from the office tell me there was going to be any type of charge what so ever. This I have a problem with. Wonder if they would mind if I wait 4 months to pay them?? While I didn't purchase this product initially for my home, I get the distinct impression this is just another one of those companies with a fancy website, a hard sell, and absolutely no follow on customer service. I waited 4 freaking months for 1 hour of the company's time and hand full of self-taping screws. How do these people stay in business? Absolutely no pride in their product at all. I sincerely think the folks who came to repair my sunroom should be promoted to run the Indianapolis shop and the folks in charge of running the shop should let one of those 100+ lbs doors hit them in the head like it did me. I absolutely wouldn't recommend Champion to anyone, however I would hire or give positive references to the guys who came out and fixed the darn thing anytime!!!!! The folks running the Champion company are anything but champions!!!!!! UPDATE: Seems un-CHAMPION has no issues with follow-up when it comes to billing. I was called the day after service about the bill and asked if I would like to pay with a credit card, of course I said NO. The very next day, I received the paper bill. Since then I have received two more phone calls about the bill and it hasn't even been 30 days yet. So they do have my phone number and my phone does work--huh?!? Of course I will pay, but my motivation to move on this actions lacks; similar to un-CHAMPIONS willingness to do their work. Margin must be real tight with these guys.

Installation went OK. Took longer than anticipated. Shortly thereafter, we noticed that the dead bolt would not lock. Contacted Champion for service and was informed that they were extremely busy. After several weeks I called and was told I would be scheduled for repair. Nothing. approx. 5 weeks ago called and was told they would call me. Finally, on approx. August 1st I called and they would have someone call. I was told that service was scheduled for Monday August 13 between 330 and 400 pm. No one showed, no calls, again nothing. On August 20 (9 am ) I called and was told that they missed the appointment and someone would call me back to reschedule. Again I was told that they are very busy. As of 9 pm I have heard nothing. Apparently, after the sale, the services diminish. I need to have these repairs completed as it was not an inexpensive door and is a security issue.

I called Champion Window around March 20th to replace a cracked window in my home, which is covered under warranty. I spoke to Tina, who didn't have a record of my account (and warranty) so I faxed them a copy of the warranty. After about a week of playing phone tag. she agreed that the window was covered, but I needed to pay a service charged of $69. Since they didn't have a record of what they sold me, they would need to send someout out to measure the window. The representative came out on April 4th and measured the window and collected the $69 service charge. He said Champion's factory would make the window and it would take 3-4 weeks. On May 4th I called Champion to inquire about the status of the replacement window, which was the first of several calls over six weeks which resulted in various excuses, unreturned calls and frustration. I was told by Shawna on May 13th that the window was in. and someone would be calling to set up the installment date. When I heard nothing after several days I called and was told by Tina that, althought the window was in, I had to wait until an order for a customer in New Palestine came in before they could come to my house. I was finally given a date of June 6th for the installation, but the installer did not show up. I called the office and talked to a supervisor this time, who promised that someone would call me back the next day, but like so many other times, that did not happen. The window was finally installed June 10th. The estimated 3-4 weeks for replacement turned into about 10 weeks. The office staff leaves a lot to me desired, with unreturned calls, misinformation and false promises. The installer was great. I will probably have to use them again, because of the warranty, but hopefully they will get their act together soon.

Two seperate crews did the work on two different days. One crew did the gutters and the other the window and doors. The gutter crew was scheduled to arrive at 9:00 AM but called shortly before the appointment time and advised me they would be late by about half an hour. They arrived forty-five minutes later and began work. The work went well and they completed in the afternoon. The new gutters with leaf gaurds look good and of a high quality. I am very happy with them. Once they completed the work they did a good job of cleaning up the work area and didn't leave any debris or trash behind. The only small oversight they made was to not re-secure a satalitte dish cable that went over the old gutter, with a few screws they had removed, but it was easy for me to do myself. The second crew that did the window and doors were on time and took until the afternoon to complete the job. There were no issues during the removal of the old window and doors or any installations and the job seemed to go well. They did a good job of cleaning up the area and removing any debris or trash as well as the old window and doors. I am very happy with the quality of the products, especially the sliding glass patio door because it is very secure when locked. Both crews were professional and curteous while at my home and I'm happy with all the work they performed.

I emailed the company today, 4/24, detailing the problems I had encountered and asking that I be contacted in a prompt manner about my concerns. To my surprise, I received a phone call this afternoon from Tim Lyons, Division Manager,Indianapolis. Tim gave us a very sincere apology. He made no excuses for the difficulties we'd encountered, but was able to provide a resolution that was entirely satisfactory. This is the service I have had in the past with Champion, and I am pleased that Tim is eager to continue that level of care.
Description of Work: We had an issue regarding a replacement window and problems getting the correct size window.

The ceiling kept breaking and we would have standing water. The windows also kept fogging up. They have replaced the glass out there three times now. They charged $51 every time they came out and put a new pane in.
Description of Work: They enclosed my screened-in porch with glass.

the estimate and presentation of options went well. we await installation..,
Description of Work: we received an estimate for installing entry doors and a transom. The company representative was on time, professional and competent. We selected a french door set for the entry, and expect it to be completed and ready to install in June. We will have a better idea of quality, etc. at that time.

They came out for an estimate, followed up to see if was interested in having the work completed. They completed the installation within 2 days. Only reason they had a second day was due some materials that had not shipped as of first visit. Were very prompt and professional. Cleaned everything up when were done. Windows and door look great.
Description of Work: Replaced all the windows including installing a bay window. Replaced front door and sliding glass door. All the work completed within two visits. Very prompt and professional.
